He is very hard, and he is very unclear.
Gives very Challenging Quises. He Now assing a lot of homework because Students nee to practise in order to learn and be ready for the test which are tricky if one doesnot study.
Need to work hard to get a good grade!!!
Be not affraid of that teacher!!! Get a tutor to help you.

I took 3 math classes with him, and i got an A in all...i was always afraid of math, but he made it so simple and easy for me to understand. thanks Arnie.
A very good professor. He will help any way he can.
horrible teacher! hard to understand and thinks that questions should not be asked in his class! NEVER TAKE HIS CLASS!
He needs to retire. He DOES NOT believe in calculators which makes it a little difficult if you are struggling in Math. On his tests you have to explain why you got the answere you got in other words... OUCH!!! if you take him
Great teacher, fun person
This guy needs to retire!!! He does not let you use a calculator. Don't take his class. He is very demanding when it comes to the tests because he wants everything to be worked out.
He is hard don't get this teacher. he makes it difficult because he wants everything to be worked out!! a lot of work in his class!!!!
This is a very good professor, if you are a math wiz. If not, then you will have a very hard time in this class. This guy will choose the hardest way possible to teach class. If you have trouble with math NEVER take his class, NEVER!
Arnie is hard, but he is the sweetest guy. If you can pass Arnie's class, you can do well in any math class. He gets confused sometimes, but he's a good teacher. He really likes to teach his students interesting concepts that might not be in the book.
Arnie is very nice, and will help you out if you ask. I had lots of laughs in my class. It was challenging, but you do come away knowing the how and why behind the math.
Not too hard, not too easy. Nice guy
he is a very nice teacher who is willing to help you out if you need help in his class.
He makes lots of errors and doesn't speak English very well. You are basically on your own unless you see him after class or make friends with the smart kids. But he's a cool dude. Just not so great a Math teacher.
hardest math teacher ever!
Moves very fast and a little difficult to understand.. However, he is always available for extra help. Only "B" I have ever received. I would take him again though.. I agree great guy!
Hard class. You know your stuff when its over though.
Broken English, extremely hyper & only allows you to use HIS method. If you learned a different method prior to taking his course, too bad! He requires you to use his method only. The combination of a new method from a hyper, broken English speaking teacher made this class INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT.
This guy was great! He was so friendly and nice and you can tell he knows what he's doing. Always willing to help. First math teacher to make me like math and teaches every step. Definately makes you prepared for the next class.
Arnie is a very caring person who seems to care deeply about teaching. He is the first algebra teacher to get me through this class and over the years I have failed it several times. Some people don't like him for his accent, but they need to get over themselves, he is a good teacher.
Arnie is a great teacher! A lot of people complain that he is a hard teacher, and that is true, but if you're not willing to work hard in his class, and every other class for that matter, you will not pass. He is always ready to help you, and he's a great guy. Take his class, work hard, and you'll be thankful.
P.S. He may have an accent, but it's not bad. I understood him right off the bat. And he does let you use a different method as long as it is right.

this class sucked! he has an accent and he's difficult to understand. it gets confusing and he doesn't help much when you get confused. he's a cool guy but not a good teacher. i dont recommend taking this class with him.
He tries to be funny and sometimes is he is very helpful when you need him i think he was a good teacher.
he goes too fast, and when you ask him to explain it again, he doesn't do it really well. he tries his best, but it's not very efficient.
TOO many proofs, will not take class again
It's a lot of work but you understand it clearly once you crack his accent. I recommend you take it in the summer by itself. You have no quizzes and you can concentrate on just math. Besides, his exams are exactly from the HW and class examples. Plus 1 or 2 new ones. You keep up with HW and you'll get at least a B.
Arnie (Andrasian) is an excellent teacher if your ready for him, what I mean is if you catch on the logic quickly. I diddn't succeed because I wasn't prepared for his course. Arnie is very helpful and really cares about his students.
He is a good teacher, patient, and dedicated. Beware: take this class only if 1) you already took it 2) like a challenge 3) math is your niche or 4) you really want a class to brag about.
Arnie is one of the best teachers an BC. VERY challanging class but very informative. His class will really let you know if your dedicated to math. Arnie is fair and will ALWAYS help you. I strongly recommend this professor if your really serious about learning a thing or two about calc!
This man is so hard to understand! Do not take him if you have a hard time with Math in the first place! Lets just say, within 2 days of the class I withdrawled
Ararat was cool. He helped me a lot I didn't even have a book and still managed to pull a "B".
i am not very good at math to begin with, and trying to take an online precalculus couse during the summer was pretty dumb on my part. i've heard arnie is a good teacher, but i don't recommend him for online classes unless you're really motivated and good at math.
i find his diction hard to understand.Although he is a cool teacher, you may find it boring. Since he is very lenient when it comes to attendance, you'll find it hard to come to class everyday on time. He does give a lot of homework. It is ok not to buy a book. You'll survive.
He is a very nice teacher&encourges students to ask questions. However,he makes things more comfusing and doesn't showing the steps(its not helpful for viaual students). He is disorganize, gives a lot of homework, and gives test reviews one day before the test.I believe teachers become educators to share their knowledge not to keep it in their head.
no problems passing his class if you come to class and do the homework!!
The online summer course is brutal. That's all I have to say.
he is very hard to understand, his lessons are unclear. if you have a hard time in math, then DO NOT GET THIS GUY FOR MATH. in my opinion, he is by far the worse instrutor ive had.
one of the best teachers i have ever had! he sat with me for 2 semesters straight (every single day!) he will tutor you personally as much as humanly possible! MORE THAN ANY OTHER TEACHER! however, his accent is thick and his class is difficult at times. Math A=shows every step. Math D=expects you to know steps! Nice, brilliant man! much respect!
He is a cool teacher. He does assign homework but he doesn't grade it, it's only for your own help. Your grade comes from tests and quizzes. Just do the homework, learn from it, and you will do well on the tests and quizzes and also in the class. He has an accent that is hard to understand sometimes but you will get used to it.
This class could have been delivered as a selfpaced course with out an instructor. he was absolutly no help.
good teacher, i would have passed with flying colors but missed a couple of days right before a quiz so my grade went down.
he's cool.although i advise u not to take him if ur a bad test taker since 100% of your grades are based on tests.. his really cool plus he gives points for corrected test paper.i also took him for math BA..so yeah..he is good.
Went over the work too fast, notes are a mess. Doesn't check to see if you did the homework, but if you want to pass its a must! Can't understand him, his speech isn't that clear. The review before a test, does nothing. The tests are off the wall. No extra credit.
Funny Teacher who is very serious about his work.
Hard class to take over summer! Hard to understand which doesn't help when he blazes through lessons. Difficult to interpret what he expects on tests and exams. It would be much better to wait until the normal semester to take it rather than during summer for sure. Told by friend
Diffucult to understand at times, but he is willing to go over your questions again in class and in office hours
Attendance is a must to pass this class. IF you pay attention and attend then the class should be easy to pass. His accent is a bit thick, but if you're paying attention then it shouldnt hinder your learning.
Unless you already understand the content, *do* *not* take this class during the summer. It is extremely fast paced, and the material is complex. I took the same course during the Fall (albeit with Rush instead of Andrasian) and had a MUCH better time. I know, you think you're going to save time. But heed my warning: you will *suffer*, my friend.
NOW THIS!!!! IS A MATH TEACHER......
Gives homework but never checks it. Allows make up tests. But, I don't recommend him. He goes way too fast and u can't really understand him. But hes funny and if u really wanna get an A, sit in front of the class!
Really good professor. Sometimes difficult to understand. He want's you to learn, but asks for a lot. If you do all the online homework you will be ready for the difficult tests. I would recommend him only if you are ready to do a lot of work. It is absolutely worth it.
Very hard to interpret what he wants you to lean. He is a nice enough guy and funny at times but very difficult to understand. He puts things not covered in the lecture on the exams and final. The class is not very organized. It seems to me he does not have a lesson plan and flies by the seat of his pants.
Listen carefully, when you practice math problems, make sure you understand (emphasis) what your doing. If some of your peers are capable of getting A's, obviously the problem is not the tests, it's you . If you understand what you are doing, you should have no problem applying your skills to new situations.
Smart, loves math, and loves teaching. Talks very fast and totally can't understand what he is saying. His accent on top of his fast geberish makes his lectures extreamly fustrating when trying to interpert things. If youra self learner, itll be you and your book the whole semester. If you hate the book and rely on the professor.dont take his class
To Pass this class do the following 1. Got to class 2. Get a Tutor for the class as soon as classes begin 3. dont try to do your homework all at once instead break it up into to two to three parts so you dont die 4) Last but not least review notes before/after class. You will do fine he's the best !
if u wanna get gud grades in his class do take notes, copy evry single problm he do on board. if u wanna get atleastB in his class do home work problms,80% of his test problms are home work. and yea ask him what proofs will be on test he ll definetly give u a clue and mark a star nxt to thtproof on ur notes
I had Arnie for Calc 3. It was somewhat disastrous. It got to the point where nobody, not even the teacher understood, we were running almost 2 hours on a 1 hour class, and only 3 people were passing the tests with a C. Most of us dropped. He tries, and can teach, just not Calc 3 specifically.
He is a really smart math person, but he doesnt really know how to teach! He deducted a lot of your points on the tests for stupid reasons!Grade kind of hard!Total 5 tests the whole semester, and final! But overall, not easy tho!
I had a good time with arnie andrasian. has an accent but you will get used to it. just listen and if you dont get it you have to ask questions. sometimes i had to use the tutors for clarity though.
the only reason i scored him low on clarity is sometimes he will get in the "zone" during his lectures. some times i would get lost, but overall hard work and good teacher.
I had him in a summer course. It was very difficult. He never checked HW and we were only graded on test scores. He gave points for shown work (correctly) and so if you only have the right answer, you probably wouldn't pass. I could NOT understand him, he has a heavy Romanian accent. He does not answer questions clearly. Many of us got frustrated.
too many tests not enough time to practice
The class average for the first exam was 58%, dead serious. You will be so busy writing you won't listen to the lecture. Get a tutor immidiately and bring coffee to class. If you are taking more than 12 units with this class, than quit your job, break up with your significant other, and drop your friends.
Got a 5 on the AP calc AB test, got a C in his class. Hw is not mandatory, which actually ended up hurting me. He is understandable but usually doesn't understand what you are asking him. You never use your calculator, which I think is pointless. He really was good at teaching integration but bad at sequences and series. HARD class. Curves grades!
He's a great guy, but he's not clear at all. He confuses me with things I've already learned. He seems to get confused when student's ask questions. Get a tutor for this class...or better yet, just take another professor.
He's pretty straight up; he will tell you what to expect on the exam on review do. If you study and work hard, you will get an A. I got my A.
Take this class with someone else, he makes everything that we've learned 10x harder. Smart at math but doesn't know how to teach!
so boring. I don't recommend taking this class in summer no matter who the teacher is unless you absolutely have no choice. Make sure you know your algebra 1 very well. Sometimes Arnie will skip steps, already assuming you know and learned it, but he is more than willing to show the steps if you speak up. Also make sure you always stay several...
steps ahead of the teacher, just as you should with any college course. Attendance is mandatory, everyone knows that, especially in a math class. Arnie gives out a lot of homework, but don't complain, just do it. It is meant to be for practice and will help tremendously if you are struggling. If you feel confident then just do the...
"Take home quizzes" which are also homework. The test problems derive directly from those. I recommend making notecards & separating everything with numbered dividers to stay more organized. Arnie is very fair on his grading and overall is a great teacher whom I would recommend to anyone. He cares about his students their learning & thats priceless
He was a nice guy, but has an accent. I showed up every morning on time and did all the work (which was online). I studied hard and took all the tests. At the end of the class he craves the end grades to widen the C range and with everything I did I still got a C. I did everything I could and just barley passed. But hes a nice guy.
Cool teacher, funny, helpful, and caring. Assigns book work but don't have to do it unless you want to. gives out a quiz a week before test which is helpful and %80 of the problems on the quiz will be on the test so do the quiz right and your guaranteed n A on every test. will go over the quiz in class before the test n help u out with any problem
Professor has an extremely heavy accent, really difficult to understand when he speeds through lecture. Only homework required was a take home quiz which were quite lengthy. He seems like a nice guy in general but he repeatedly made me feel incapable. Overall I would not recommend his course, especially to those who already struggle with math.
He is difficult to understand. You won't use the book unless you do the optional homework he assigns periodically (I recommend doing it). He doesn't take attendance. Only mandatory work besides tests (1 for every chapter) is a "take home quiz" which you have all chapter to do (roughly a week or two). Pay close attention and you'll be fine.
I'm a straight A student, but he made everything a lot harder than it had to be. I failed & ended up taking it online & passed the following semester. He's nice & super smart but can't teach.
He's a funny guy and very willing, but he is not very structured and very unorganized when it comes to teaching. He's very intelligent but horrible at teaching math. His accent is very thick too and not easy to understand. Would not recommend taking this class
I would recommend students take him IF they've seen the math before. Learning this stuff for the very first time during the summer would be tough. I know that the people who failed are the ones who were too afraid to ask questions. Make sure you are really good at simplifying because it can get confusing when considering how he got to the next step
Nice guy but if you struggle with math, he is not the instructor for you. He makes himself available in his office and has tutors but it is super packed and they are pretty much eating lunch and not very helpful. Be sure sure you Algebra 1 like the back of your hand. Also, difficult to understand and teaches differently. Nice guy though.
Professor Andrasian is a very good math instructor. Although many have reviewed that his accent makes it difficult to understand, I did not find his accent difficult to understand at all. He is EXTREMELY helpful and definitely knows what he is teaching and is always willing to help students. Homework is not required, but do it if you want to pass.
He has a good personality but grades tough. More then half of my class dropped and only 5 people passed with a c or better. If you are good at math allready take this class. If you need extra help this class is not for you.
I gave Arnie (he goes by Arnie) a 2 on easiness because of the nature of the class. Calculus 3 is not an easy class as it is and he makes sure you know your stuff. That said, if you do the homework over the course of several days (not just the night before), pay attention to lectures, and ask questions, you should pass.
He is a really good teacher. He was the only one who made me understand math. Homework is optional in this class (but you should do it for extra practice). He always has office hours so you can go in anytime and ask him or his student tutors for help. And you don't need to buy the textbook. He lets you take pictures from his book of the hw.
I advise all student do NOT take this professor. He is extremely unhelpful. Recommends help through his tutor's who most often have their friends in the office & are annoyed when asked for help!? There is no book, half assed notes, and no reference for the homework. There is no step by step, he expects you to know from previous classes.
arnie is such an amazing teacher. you put in the work and do the homework and you should at least be getting a B. he is hilarious and will always help you when you need it. he pushes students in the right direction and keeps them focused.
Awesome teacher! Super helpful!
This is one of my favorite professors! He made a tough subject manageable to learn. He is always available to help his students. You just need to take initiative and go to the office hours. He welcomes questions so make sure to ask them. He is hilarious and knows his stuff! I learned a lot.
Arnie is one of the best professors at BC. While calc 2 is a tough class he really helps you through it. He is always available to help after class and has fantastic tutors in his office. If you are interested in being a math major and really want to learn Arnie is the professor for you.
Ignore comments regarding his accent. Yes, he has one, but I never had a problem understanding him. The subject is tough. The exams are challenging. There is no extra credit, don't ask. If you work hard, ask questions, do the homework, and seek help when you need it, Arnie does his best for you. If you don't do these, you will crash and burn.
He's an okay teacher. My main problem with his class is he has a THICK heavy accent and it's very hard to understand him. Also he messes up a lot and does the problems wrong.
Professor Andrasian does everything possible to help you help yourself to an "A" in this class. If anyone says he is "hard" or "unhelpful"... Ask them, "Did you do the homework?" or "did you pay attention and/or read the assigned book?" They will say "No" and you will be glad you took his course. He makes himself available and will help you review.
Andrasian was really fun. He does have an accent but it is easy to understand. His class is easy to pass as long as you show up and do your homework. Andrasian makes himself very available for students who need help.
Arnie was great! I took B1A hybrid (both in class and online) during summer, it was difficult but doable. If you are willing to put in the time, YOU'LL DO WELL. Don't take this class if you're lazy... Most definitely take advantage of the math tutoring department!
Heavy accent, bad hand writing, study guide is extremely difficult and when you ask for help he somehow makes it more confusing. Cool guy but not a great professor
gREAT Teacher
He is a great teacher! Take down notes because it will be helpful to study before exams. Don't skip class. Gives a lot of work but if you pay attention you will be good.
He does have an accent but is very easy to understand. Is willing to help if you ask and will get on you if you don't do your work. Overall was a great professor and he's willing to work with you if you're not doing so well but no extra credit
He has a really strong accent and it makes it hard to understand his lectures. He talks fairly too fast and makes it hard to keep up.
Don't take this professor he has such a huge accent it is hard to understand him, his penmanship on the board is horrible and small, his way of teaching is so straight forward that he will skip steps leaving you to wonder how he got there, on practice exams he relies on students to teach the class, and his homework is never in order.
Taking this professor was a terrible mistake that I completely regret; Not only was he very hard to understand cause of his accent but he was also very bad at teaching; His writing on the board was horrendous and his way of explaining how to solve problems was lazy; He has a terrible tendency to skip steps;Grade based off only tests and quizzes.
This was by far the hardest math class I've ever taken at BC. The professor was terrible at explaining things. He made his class more of an accelerated math class. He does take home quizzes which are to be turned in the day of the test. The take home quizzes are super long (around 70 problems). Super hard to pass this class believe me!
He is a great teacher. If you miss class, you will fall behind. He is a tough grader but if you show up to class everyday and pay attention, you'll be fine. If you need help, ask him because he will make time for you and make sure you get back on track.
Keep in mind, I have passed Calculus 3 with an A. Arnie is a nice guy, but very difficult to understand. He scribbles a lot, and tends to mess up a lot to the point that students walk out on him. He is a very tough grader. His test are based mostly on proofs. He is very hard to reach out for help because he is hardly ever in his office.
I started in Math B60, and it has been nothing but straight A's ever since, and then, along came Arnie. He is by far the worst professor I have ever had in BC. Bad handwriting, unorganized lecture, homework and test problems that are full of typos and hardly relate to the material taught, oh and good luck checking solutions, there is no reference.
Not good. The problem with Arnie is he just makes you go through the motions to solve math problems without ever making sure you actually understand the concepts. Linear algebra was a joke with him as you have to understand and visualize all those vectors and transformations in space which is something he never teaches. Super tough grader, avoid!
hardest teacher, hardly any homework , expects everyone to know things fast, very fast paced teacher
cheat, whenever possible his tests are absurdly hard. Bad professor, his questions stumped another B1a professor. even if you already know the material this class will be hard, take someone else avoid him at all costs
He should teach students understand the foundations of the math first before through hard questions. Students need practice with easy question before the hard question.
He goes way too fast, no time for questions, throws hard problems at his students before making sure the foundations are understood. You'll feel like you're floundering just to get your feet under yourself. DO NOT take his class unless you are already very well experienced and practiced in math up to whatever kind of math class you are taking.
Worst math prof ever. doesn't give hw but a take-home quiz that's due exam day. goes over too much info during lectures and doesnt go over them very well. doesnt assign a textbook either. you'll basically be teaching yourself the material in a short amount of time before exams. AVOID HIS CLASS!
Arnie is difficult to understand due to his accent: you will get used to it. He will go over each concept very limitedly and only during one class period. He will expect you to understand for the take-home quiz; It about 50 problems and is due the day of the test. Arnie will not go over the answers so be prepared to go over answers with others.
This is the worst class. Avoid taking his class. I would not take his class again.
Arnie as a person is amazing- as a professor, meeeh. He does drop lowest test grade & has a curve at the end of the semesters for those who stick it out. Lectures are sorta confusing & he has TKQ where 80% of the test questions come from, which sounds amazing IF you know what youre doing but he never gives the answers and no textbook
Does not explain in detail often makes mistakes and blames students No sympathy for students or grade he does not let students float by Take home quizzes and homework every week You do not need book Get a different professor if you have trouble with Algebra Does let you go home early sometimes
Don't take his summer course if you want to pass the class. Nice guy but there were very few students actually passing and you'll need more help than just the slides (but none of the BC tutors ever really knew what was going on because of how complicated he makes the material).
Worst teacher I have ever had. I'm pretty good at math and he made me feel completely clueless. You can barely understand him and if you get the right answer but you did the work in a different way, he will fail you. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS
I have a love/hate relationship with Arnie. His homework is way harder than the material he teaches, but you can figure it out if you work hard enough. But you can never really know if you're doing it right until you've already taken the test, because he doesn't grade your HW until after the test. Anyways, loved him as a person, but weird system.
if you want an A, thats not gonna happen. pretty hard to understand at first, but you get used to it. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE ON THE TKQS. as long as you do your work, you should pass.
This professor is not recommended if you want an A; however, if you want to pass this class, then you should be fine with Arnie. Linear algebra isnt that hard of a subject, but it does require memorizing a large amount of steps and proofs. Make sure to not slack off on the TKQs.
Arnie is cool. PreCal is hard.
Arnie is honestly a great professor. He makes you work for your grade but its college what do you expect. He helps a lot if you go to his office hours.
Arnie is pretty amazing and funny. Work hard and you will pass his class. If you want to pass with an A, you have to live in his office hours.
I've taken Arnie twice and only about 10-15 students remain by the end of the course out of 30+. His lectures are erratic and hard to understand. He pulls on knowledge from all over your previous math classes without you understanding why he did something. Half a math class half a giant puzzle. His system Does Not work for a student brain. No A's
Arnie is a great person and very nice, but as a professor he's iffy. His class is very hard mainly because he goes over things only one time before a test. He doesn't give hw and his Tkqs are very different from the test. plus he doesn't go over the tkqs till after the test so you don't know if ur doing anything right. study hard and you'll pass.
Arnie is great! I was a returning student after 17 years and he really helped me get my feet under me. Be willing to put in the work, he is willing to put in extra time for you. Be sure to use office hours!
I had Arnie for Precalculus, Calculus 3, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations and passed all of his classes with final grades in the 96-98 range while taking multiple jobs on campus and being full-time for many of them. Arnie will make you work very hard, but you will be ready to transfer to the best schools in the end.
Mr. Andrasian was a great professor. He allowed lots of freedom with attendance as long as you did your work.
