Took the online class so I really don't know how she is in person! She has a really easy set up for the online class though! You get three chances to take the tests and only the highest score counts. Not sure if every online teacher does it like that, but it definitely relieved alot of stress for me! Since I'm no good with this stuff!!

This was an on-campus class. Professor Melkonian made her subject material very clearly and in an organized way, and answered questions concisely. Her homework is not required but it is recommended. She really helped me understand some math that I'd been having problems with since High School and was very nice about it. She seems to enjoy teaching.

I took her for math50, the class is super easy. She's pretty quiet though, so sometimes you have to ask her to repeat something. Homework isn't graded but its good practice for tests. She also does group work at the end of class. Overall EASY class.

She's a great teacher. She's willing to answer question during starting class. You do have to go to class everyday because of the group work. only like 10 of your top group work counts toward your grade. Her exams does have a couple of problems that require you to work it out. Math isn't my strong subject and I still pass the class with an A

I took this class online Spring 2014 and I absolutely loved it! I hate math and have always struggled with it, the way Professor Melkonian set up our course was great. It gave awesome examples and step by step instructions. She drops your lowest test grade & homework grade. She truly cares about her students and does what she can to help them pass!

She never gives homework, its the same thing everyday, 4 lessons, work group problems and 5 chapter tests. She also drops your lowest test grade!!

Amazing Teacher!

Math 42: Professor Melkonian is great and makes sure that you know what she's teaching. There's group work and it helps you learn the subject easily, there are 14 group work exercises and she takes the highest 7 scores. Lastly, there are 5 tests, the great thing is that she drops your lowest score, the final 4 scores are submitted into your grade.

I took math 42 in the winter 2015, it was a 6 week course. Prof. Melkonian is a nice lady, but she didn't make her students buy the textbook. All you have to do is come to class, take notes, and do the group work. This did not help at all, it was mostly fast paced lectures, and there was no exam reviews. My advice, take another professor.

GREAT TEACHER! I'm not very good at math and passed her class with an A+. Her lectures make you understand. She teaches you, gives you examples and then makes you try it on your own for points. Her lectures are the best! Very patient and very clear!! I didn't even have a book Bc she never assigns homework. Pay attention and you'll be fine !:)

Honestly, great teacher. The way the class is set up is helpful because after every lecture you have group quizzes and that helps because you have help. If you pay attention, take your notes and really care about your grade it is an easy A. I recommend this class to everyone she is a really good teacher.

I liked the way the lessons were taught. There were things I had done and never understood them until now. I felt like I actually learned some math in this class. She's patient and kind and takes the time to explain everything. I can honestly say I enjoy math because of her.

Just finished Math 90 winter session. She is a great teacher. Doesn't require the book to be bought. No homework. Only downside is she doesn't give out study guides. But if you practice the problems in the book and go to the math center you will be fine. She also has quizzes at the end of class.

Took her again for math 90 winter "webenhanced" honestly NO HOMEWORK NO ACCESS CARD NEEDED NO TEXT. Previously had her for math 42 fall. Same thing do homework if you need to. Quizzes every day after lectures. A little harder for winter because it's all packed into a shorter time. Still awesome class

She's the best math teacher so far out of the four I've had at VVC. Good explanations when questions are asked. She spends time going over the problems. Very approachable. A wonderful teacher.

Also on the test she does not allow you to see the mistakes you made but will give you two tries to pass the test. the test are timed.

Online class has great set-up. She drops 1 test score. There are weekly discussion board postings but they are not hard. Just post your response to get the credit. Workload is manageable. Highly recommend her online class.

She is a good teacher. If someone doesn't understand a point or subject she will reexplain it in a different way that might make more sense. She does do something that she calls "group quizzes," they aren't quizzes. They're simply review for what was lectured on during that class period.

This was my first math class that wasn't that stressful. We had enough time on our tests and quizzes. The group quizzes were all about teamwork. The professor explains the material good. Her winter class was SO easy. There was NO homework and a test every 3 days, which was intense but to be expected from a 6 wk course. She gave feedback right away and credit was given if the computer made a mistake on a test. It takes a minute to get the hang of the online math platform (McGraw) but it was overall a very successful experience!

I liked the hybrid structure of the class and the idea that we were learning from the book and not through a calculator. I do appreciate the number of quizzes and test that are being dropped to help our grade. The class had very good grading system and the math was solid. Definitely would take her again!

She's the best math teacher I've had at VVC. This was my second time taking Math 105 and the only reason I passed the class is because she's such a great teacher. After she explains, I could understand the work.

This class was tough but she's happy to help. She gave so much help in class and answered all my questions. Happy I took her.

Time management is key. Took her hybrid class. Gives you a whole week to do hw that consists of up to 50-60 questions. If you don't like math, you might struggle. You have to teach yourself from some of the questions, because her lectures go over the general idea of a concept, and most but not every single question you'll see in the hw/test.

Prof. Melkonian was very understanding when my family got COVID. She gave me extentions for tests and homework. She's a very kind lady.

I took her online Math 132 class last fall. Her class assignments were well organized by modules for each week. There were a lot of math questions to answer. But I found most of them to be very easy. There was also this app that she required us to purchase in order to access the assignments.

I am terrible at Math, and she actually made me learn things!!! She is truly the best teacher I ever had. She's a really nice person and she wants everyone to pass.

She's one of the nicest teachers I've ever had for math. She goes slowly through the material and helps you understand with a great explanation. If you don't understand the rules and procedures of some math problems she clears it up with simpler instructions.

Everyone says she can be pretty hard but truly you just have to be able to keep up. She does do her lectures pretty fast so it's easy to get lost but she's always willing to re-explain and answer questions. Honestly most of the work given, you can find a calculator online to do it. I only rec her class if you're okay with fast-paced lectures.

I failed this class twice with two different teachers. She's the easiest and most straight to the point teacher that I have had and that's probably the only reason why I passed. She stuck to her syllabus and her test schedules, so no out of the blue assignments or quizzes. I definitely would recommend to any student that struggles with math.

Great online class! Don't even think about taking Math 132 with anyone else.

This class has a lot of homework and 4 tests through the units. Unfortunately, I had two family emergencies in which I missed two different tests. She reopened the homework unit and test for me to finish. Very thankful for the empathy she gave me when I had emergencies.

He responds to emails fairly quick. Most of the course is self-guided through the online textbook. The homework allows more than one attempt so that there is room to improve the final grade. Math is not my strongest subject but somehow was able to pull through.

Professor M was cool. The class goes by quickly. It's an independent class, so if you're not into math classes like that, maybe take it in person. The lowest test and homework scores are dropped—three exams & six homework assignments; 1 ch/wk. The Pearson textbook is pretty straightforward, nothing crazy--just expensive for how short the class is.
