Dr. Fischer is the type of professor that cares a lot about her class. You will do fine if you read the books and if you participate in class. She doesn't pick favorites - it's all about your participation. You decide your own grade: if you read and participate you will get an A. If you slack off you won't.

Prof Fischer is a character, but the class isn't too bad. You have to have your book, but I didn't really read all of them. great professor, but lots of reading and annotations, discussion posts every week. the work is manageable but it just gets a little annoying with the amount of work for a gen ed. she is very lenient grading, and lets you redo your annotations if you didnt do well the first time

She was a very sweet, caring, and understanding professor. Annotation assignments every week , but always had a chance to get your grade up if you didnt do well. Either attend zoom once a week for credit or do the weekly Friday discussion posts. The readings took time but the professor made them more engaging. Will do well if you do the work.

Dr. Fitscher is very caring and understanding. She was very flexible when I was struggling with my classes, but she still expects you to do the work and focus on assignments. Readings can be a lot of work but they are generally interesting and full of new ideas. Definitely recommend her if you actually want to learn something during the class.

The work load of this class with Professor Fischer is absolutely unreal. I took Finance and Risk classes that were upper-level major requirements and I still spent more time typing and doing homework for Professor Fischer than any other class. Unreal the amount of work given. It's like IH is your only course for the semester or something.

professor fischer was SO sweet and kind. classes are very discussion-heavy and structured similarly to a seminar. you have to participate every class but it's a lot less pressure since prof is so sweet and validates any contribution you have to the discussion. workload was doable/borderline easy. i would definitely take this class again if i could.

I have taken both online and in-person classes with her and they have both been so good. She is very understanding of anything that happens and won't take a lot of points off for late work as long as you submit quality work.

Love professor Fischer!! There was a lot of reading but even if you don't read you can figure out what is going on in class discussions. Annotations every week, a couple of reflections, and quizzes. Attendance is mandatory but it was not a hard class. Professor Fischer is super nice and caring, literally like a kindergarten teacher in the best way.

Dr. Fischer is amazing. She is super caring of her students and she is willing to work with you if help is needed. There are a couple of small assignments due every week, which do get annoying, but she doesn't grade harshly and she allows extensions if needed. She is also very engaging and encouraged us to voice our opinions.

Fischer is very sweet, but her workload is ridiculous for a gen-ed and she expects us to give our absolute all for every single arbitrary assignment. I love IH, but her assignments are just repetitive and a nuisance. It's so kindergartenly. It's a very easy course, but just lots of work for stuff that can be easily explained in one sentence.

Professor Fischer is super quirky and makes the class enjoyable! There are 2 small assignments per week that are catered towards the book you're reading. She does require participation for a grade, but as long as you add your opinion every so often you'll get a good grade. There is a lot of reading, only downside.

Her workload is a bit much for just a gen ed but if you participate and do the readings(beware of pop quizzes on the readings) you should do great in her course. She is very sweet and accessible and tries to fit the needs of all students.

Professor Fischer is such a sweet woman. Contrary to what other people on here have written, her workload is the smallest of any of my courses and is not difficult whatsoever. She gives extra credit frequently, understands if you are not comfortable speaking in front of the class, and does not assign essays. I would highly recommend her.

Professor Fischer is nice and she cares about her students. She gives a ton of tedious homework, and makes the readings mandatory. There are quotes, an in-class quiz, and lecture notes due weekly as well as the journal she makes you keep in class .None of it is actually difficult but definitely stay away if you're looking for a blowoff class.

Amazing professor. The class may seem like a lot of work at first but she sets a routine and sends out reminders every week for you to manage things and it becomes easier. Easy grader, and genuinely a great person.

Prof. Fischer was a really amazing IH professor. The homework was mostly readings and some discussion posts, but really reasonable. The class was mostly discussion based and the prof fostered a really good atmosphere for learning. I would really recommend her class.

I take her asynchronous and her amount of homework isn't too bad but she is very picky with grading assignments. She overemphasizes for every assignment we submit that we have to use our “personal voice” and even when we do, she always has something to say about it and will mark off points for anything.

be careful with this one she's nice but annoying and gives LOTS of work. you'll be drowning in it. 4 group projects, discussion boards every week 100+ words and u have to reply to two people, journals every couple of weeks, lecture notes every week 300+ words and 15 min lecture videos, and a midterm and a final that have to be three paragraphs.

I took this class over the summer so it was asynch. But with the interaction we had, I can say Prof. Fischer truly cares about her students both well-being and success. She is clear on instructions and reached out daily with reminders. She was also receptive to me when i contacted her about my own stressors in the class. I'd highly recommend.

She is a really kind and caring professor. She truly wants to see you succeed. Attendance is mandatory and you must participate if you want an A. No major exam/essays. Just small weekly assignments and a quiz every week to make sure you read what was assigned. Her grading system is very fair.
