No homework given, only 1 paper due at end of semester. 2 tests, final, and paper make your grade so as long as you do well on the tests your good.

Pay attention in class, take good notes, and go to review sessions if you can. I made note cards for every test and went over lectures and I got an A.
Not fun at all, not easy, boring, but you have to take becuase he is the only teacher, get help from his student teacher. Levi is no help
A fair, but hard, professor.
Lectures were kind of long winded. He would spend an entire lecture talking about one subject. Reading the book and outlining it is VERY helpful. Also, know the handouts. TA was not the coolest. Class curve makes an A possible.
overall very good
Probably the worst prof. I have ever had. Makes no sense of what is going on in his class. Wayne should be embarassed that they have this bonehead teaching its students.
Long, check that, very long and boring lectures. You'll do better skipping class and reading the book. It's a snoozefest. If you read and keep up you'll get A's. Also, he's not very attentive come test time if you know what I mean.
BORING LECTURES!!
In response to a previous poster, if Levi is the worst teacher you've ever had, you've had it pretty good at Wayne. Levi may be a condescending jerk, but he knows what he's talking about -- and puts effort into the course. When you sign up for a 2 hour lecture class, shouldn't you expect long lectures? What's wrong with you people?
He was HORRIBLE,BORING, and very SARCASTIC.
It's REALLY hard to make a 3 hour class not very boring, but he does try. He actually dosen't hate teaching which is refreshing. Not only that but he dosen't mind being woken up during his office hours either! Class isn't nessesary if you don't mind getting a "c", but if that's how you want to live your live college isn't nessesary either.
There isnt any words I can say for this man. Just grin and bare it,esp if it an required class. Most of the time, the class is only 16 weeks (smile).
His lectures can be interesting and easy to understand at times, but the test questions are very tricky. He is a very generous grader, because he really curves the test grades. Read the book and attend TA review sessions if you can.
He is excptional, and you can understand everything. He knows his materials, gives alot of examples. If you do not know an answer, do not raise your hand because he will ask you why after you comment. Papers are not hard at all.
Professor Levi is a very talented and smart individual. Class is not too bad. There are 3 tests and a paper. Class curve is helpful and guarantees you a "B" if you do good on the exams. Only problem is that tests are very tricky. My Advice is to study hard, and TAKE NOTES in class. TA offers review sessions. I never went and still got an A
Levi is by far the smartest professor I have had and at the same time the worst professor I have had. His lectures were horribly boring. Exams are half lecture and half book, except they are very tricky. Everyone does horrible so he curves A LOT. Do well on the paper and ok on the exams and u r ok for a guaranteed B.
His exams are not tricky and if they are here is the trick. He writes them the same way he speaks in lecture. Read the test question and visualize him speaking it in class then it becomes obvious. It has an almost sarcastic overtone to it.
Lectures are interesting and easy. Tests are hard as hell. Huge Curve. Not a bad class overall. (i've had worse)
His lectures are boring ,but pay attention because the detailed information he gives is about 20% of the exam. 60% of exam is from the articles he hands out in class. 10% of test is from the text book. If you take good notes and study those and the articles in detail you should get a B+ or A.
He was ok. I found him very helpful but I found his tests hard.
Decent class and grades on a curve. However, I thought that despite all of the notes and practice exams you're given, the tests, all mutiple choice, weren't that clear. Seems like a typical liberal (and I'm a leftist myself), but since this isn't a political course, a different ideology won't affect your grade.
Overall a pretty good class. He is very helpful and an easy grader. Need to go to class and than go over the bookon your own. Tests require you to do a lot on your own. Pretty good teacher
The class will be called 2530. Its the same as 4530. This class is easy, but exams are really hard. However he says he doesn't curve, but that is a lie. Class average on exams is around a 63% which means thats a B- on his curve. Good luck
Brillant teacher. Has a hard time conveying his brillance. You will learn alot. Tests are hard, you have to study the text indepth and know the lecture material fairly well.
This guy is so hard. his tests are so confusing. I hate this class.
His exams are tough.
If you took him for 2530/4530, you know the drill. Read the book and attend most lectures and you will be fine. Curve is excellent as always.
He's probably a brilliant person but he is a horrible teacher! He rambles about one topic for three class sessions and then throws all this material from the text into the exams but never even mentions the other stuff in his lectures. If you take this class, READ THE TEXT. It's more important than acutally going to the class. He curves by a lot.
READ the BOOK....even then it might be hard to understand his exam questions. I read and understood the book down pact, but when the MC questions came on the exam i was like WTF? plus they are long ass questions too! yes he gives a lot of stupid examples, but i guess everything is made up for when he curves the grade...
Overall very good teacher. Go to his lectures and read the book, you can understand everything. He is very helpful.
I really liked him. I enjoyed the subject matter so the lectures were pretty good. The tests are hard and tricky (this is not a joke). He does curve because everyone does poor but his curve is fair and he is an overall fair grader. I ended up with a B and happy overall. I learned a lot from him. Nice guy.
He was an overall good teacher. He sometimes had the absent-minded professor thing going on. His TA Ben teaches really helpful review sessions, although he makes fun of the students and throws markers at them. Make sure you read the book even though he doesn't tell you specifically that it is so important.
...........Lame. His class is really lame, but its important, a lot of his in-class examples or on his Exam. Ben is really helpfull, when he wants to.
Professor Levi is very intelligent. He lectures the entire class along with having students answer questions. He has a very generous curve on his tests. As others have stated, you have to read the entire book chapters to do good on the tests.
This was an interesting class - the text was HORRIBLE. I think it is used because one of the authors is a WSU professor. HUGE curve, read the boring book and study handouts and you should do well. The TA is helpful too.
READ THE BOOK!! I cannot stress that enough. He is so intelligent that he at times couldn't understand why "only 10%, 12%, 17% of you got this question right...hmmm.." All I can say is put as much effort in this class as you can. His curve saves lives. 72% and above was an A. The class average though: mid-50s. There's 3 exams and a paper.
If you're smart and hard working, you'll do fine. If you're lazy and stupid, god help you. If you are lazy and smart, or stupid and hard working, then you're in the 90% of the class where the curve actually matters to you. In that case, 1. read the book 2. go to class 3. review the lecture slides before the exam Good luck!
Very hard class, Tests are rediculously hard but great curves. Failed both mid-terms and Final although studied really good. My GPA is 3.14 and the class average on his exams is 58%. I do not recommend.
Better get your study on. My advice, however seriously you plan on studying for test one, study much harder! If you can get out ahead of the curve on test one before everyone else is rudely awakened, you will be much better off by the end. Also, do your paper on equity theory, it is by far the easiest, IMHO.
Class is moderately hard and tests are reading exhaustive. very long questions and very long possible answers. Ben is funny and help but can be rude. 3pts E.C. for every review section you attend was just implemented so go to review! Read the book and the handouts in lecture. Interesting and intelligent human.
If your reading comprehension is exceptional than you will do fine. My least favorite part of the class was Ben. The review sessions were ad-libbed and typically consisted of him reading the definitions out of the textbook.
Worst professor ever. I'm dreading having him this summer for HR. Very unorganized, never lets you know what is newly posted on BB. The only good this are the exam curves. Read the book and GO TO CLASS. The TA is a jerk as far as I am concerned. Highly recommend someone else.
Dr. Levi will help you if you go to his office hours. He doesn't really seem like that kind of professor, but if you go, he'll explain stuff until he thinks you understand. As for TA Ben, he is... unorthodox, but he comes up with examples off the cuff and makes the session... interesting. I think I'd be retaking 2530 if not for him.
If you dont want to wreck your GPA avoid this prof. This class is super hard and even he will acknowledge that. The subject isnt hard but he makes it hard. Dont skip his class, some questions are from his lecture and his exams are long. The first exam the class average was 56%. I think 1/3 of my class ended up dropping his class. Students beware.
He is the worst teacher ever!!! DO NOT take him! the subject matter is easy however he makes his exams impossible, he is rude and I really don't think he cares about his students! AVOID him! U have 3 exams and a paper however he doesn't even grade your paper the TA does, Seriously try not to take him absolute worst teacher in the world!!!!
Very Hard!! Exams are complicated. Impossible to pass the tests thats why he curves. An average score on one of the tests were a 59%! DON'T TAKE unless you want it to wreck your GPA!
One of the worst professors I have came across at Wayne State. Ben his T/A did not deserve his position. Ben would show up late to review secessions with food for himself and than just make fun of students... what a punk! The tests are made to confuse students and the class average score was always low. Don't take this professor!!!
Perhaps students wouldn't struggle with this class so much if they were able to construct decent sentences and knew the difference between a session and a secession. Just sayin'.
Perhaps students wouldn't struggle with this class so much had the professor exercised Equity Theory, which is something he taught. Maybe then he would receive a little more love on this site. Just sayin'. :)
Lazy people... cry me a river... lazy people... shouldn't be in university... lazy people... study harder... I'm not a genius, but I did fine.
Pfft, the only reason the person who posted after me had good sentence structure is because he copied my post and changed a few words. Lame.
Attendance isn't necessary. I studied the study guide really hard, read over the chapters covered in the test really well. Went to every other study session with the TA and got a B. Do equity theory on your paper/ its easy. Ben our TA is no longer there so could be different. Not hard if you read well

Very bad prof. The class is only of 2 midterms, a paper, and a final. Exams extremely hard. The average grade on the first midterm 46% and second midterm 43%. Out of 19 students that were enrolled dropped, only 8 students completed the course.
I didn't buy the book as the stuff isn't rocket science. I just attended the class regularly and didn't need to study for the tests. The lectures were entertaining to say the least as he likes to wave his arms and move around a lot when making a point. Common sense will get you an A in this class so if you're lacking in that department avoid it.
Excellent teacher. Passionate about his work and wants you to learn. Very light workload, but going to class helps a ton. Exams are VERY wordy, but if you can dig in and take out the 1-2 sentences that matter in a question you will do fine. I wish I had sent a rough draft of my paper to the TA. She is a harsh, harsh grader.
The Asian female TA is a harsh grader. she is waay too serious. Mr.Levi is the****t though he just doesnt do anything. He lectures but doesnt grade. He curves like crazy though. I got 49 out of 120 and its a C!!! Easy Class. Hurry and take him before he retires!!!
One of the smartest professors I've met. Tests are brutal, but he slopes the grade. Curves are for everybody else, Levi slopes the grade. If you think your failing, don't be surprised if you get a B.
Very intelligent teacher! Enjoyed the class thoroughly! Exams made you critically think, so be prepared. I received an A, but it took work. If you follow exactly what he says it is an enjoyable class. Textbook was CHEAP! Loved that!
Really good professor. Must come to class and take good notes. Exams were challenging so make sure you study. Read chapters prior to class because he will use information from the book on the exam whether he mention it in class or not. He does curve because the exams are a little difficult. Do not be afraid you will do great if you study.
With degrees from Yale and Columbia, Levi knows alot and is into what he does. Hes also a great lecturer and interesting. However, he is a GPA buster though with his wordy exams and his exams are curved to a C+/C. Cindy, the TA isnt helpful. Hes a good professor that doesn't succumb to grade inflation so its hard to get an A.
I took his course ONLINE. I loved it. A funny professor, with a lot to say. Barely used the textbook. It's online for free! The beauty of the online section is although you have mandatory extra assignments and papers, you get 2 dates to choose from for exams..you choose which one. (in class sections don't get this option) Take him!
Professor Levi is extremely smart. He can sometimes be abrasvie however, he is very helpful Read the book, come to class & participate, do the paper and you will do well.
I took this class online, there are extra assignments but they aren't hard. He curves extremely well! The tests are very wordy but are multiple choice. The final paper wasn't hard, he gives you a lot of topics to choose from. All the lectures are online to watch. Hard to get an A. Can choose between two dates to take the exams on campous.
This class was fairly easy. Just pay close attention to the lectures and take good notes. Make sure that all concepts in the study guide are understood. I felt that the curve was too big. If students can't get more than a 50% on a mc exam, they deserve to fail! Passing them is unfair to those that put in even a minimal amount of time studying.
Super intelligent guy, good sense of humor and very interesting class. You can find the book online for free. Need to go to class to take notes, doesn't post slides (unless you ask). Gives you practice exams, study guides for tests with huge curves. Great class and teacher.
Levi actually lectures and doesn't just read off slides. The guy is not only humorous but also pretty enjoyable to listen to. His exams are BEASTS. Questions will come from lecture and textbook. Go to class. Trust me, skipping will come at a cost. I nearly failed the first exam but did better on others and ended with a B.
Very bad prof. The class is only of 2 midterms, a paper, and a final. Exams extremely hard. The average on every exam was between 45-50%. He does give a pretty hefty curve on every exam, but you have no idea what your grade is before going into the final. His exams are a overwhelming with how long some of the questions are. DON'T TAKE HIM.
Great prof. Lectures are clear, interesting, but kind of slow. Though he's just trying to make sure everyone understands the content. Use of iClickers in class is good. Tests cover more material than taught in class so read the textbook and go through all assigned readings. Grading scheme is 3 tests + 1 paper (short). He curves a lot (too much).
Cool teacher. He's very smart and has great examples. Note the examples; they're on the exam. Theres an essay. Only four pages. Make sure it follows the rubric & get someone to check it!! He curves so do your best to get an easy A. I did okay and got a B. And the book is online for FREE and make sure to read it for exam material!!
Do not take his classes online!!! I cannot express that enough. I am currently taking his management 2530 course online and I hate it. He does not let students know when he posts new assignments; the attachments aren't even clear that they are assignments. It is ridiculous. His tests are extremely hard, but he does curve. Do not take!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE. Like the person ahead of me said, he does not notify you about assignments. (There aren't many so this can truly screw your grade) His tests include items he dosen't cover in lecture, are very "wordy" and difficult. This course should not be offered online by those who don't make their online students a priority.
Easy Class, HARD PROFESSOR. You have to spend hours to study for an exam. He does not cover the book in class, only his powerpoints which cover like 15% of the exam. Avoid him because his EXAMS are SUPER HARD! It takes like 2 hours to complete because they are filled with SO MUCH reading! A paper that is graded by a harsh TA grader. GOOD LUCK!
Im a single mom of 3 young children taking 15 credits. I don't understand all these whiners. Took his online class, was notified of all assignments, he announces and the syllabus states exam material includes textbook examples and other materials. He gives you a study guide and numerous examples. Study and you'll get an A.
Easy class, but his exams are pretty wordy and difficult. You MUST study the book and his slides to do well on them. He gives you a chapter to read a week so the workload isn't too much to handle.Assignments were easy. STUDY STUDY STUDY and you'll be fine.
DO NOT TAKE ONLINE. I can't stress it enough. Levi doesn't make online students a priority. He doesn't post assignments on the syllabus so you have to rely on an email from him for each one. Sometimes he emailed other times he didn't. Exams are unnecessarily difficult when content is so easy.
This class is awful. I took it online but heard that the classroom work was even worse. He posted the wrong exam for the final which many of the students finished before the correct one was posted. The grading for the assignments is ridiculous, and the tests are unnecessarily hard. Try to avoid if possible, he does not care if his students succeed.
Very easy class. Not sure what the professor's role was though. No lectures from him. No presentation material from him. Just articles and videos. Open book tests are like high school exams. Professor not responsive to e-mails. Semester ended a week ago and still don't have final grades!
Three 50 Q MC tests and a group paper - couldn't be more simple. Material is easy, test questions are a bit lengthy/require average reading comprehension skills. Don't need book, he uploads the publisher slides, which he pulls a lot of Qs from. Graded against rest of class. Great prof, easy class, interesting material.
Took this class on-line. It was pretty straightforward. His recorded lectures were clear & easy to understand. He sent misc. assignments throughout the term. Tests were moderately difficult. You really need to comprehend what you read. His PPT's & slides will help. There was also a course paper, only 4 pages required. Would recommend him.
EXTREMELY difficult professor and class! By far the toughest professor and class I have taken. I do not recommend taking him.
AVOID. His lectures aren't helpful. He will ramble off topic and waste class time. Exams are too difficult. He outlines in his syllabus the highest grade you'll get is a B-. He curves but even then its not worth it. Study guides aren't helpful. Won't let you write on exam which is bad bc there are several paragraph long questions.
This class is totally a mess. His course materials are every where. The exams are ok, but the assignments are very confused. Good Luck y'all!
I liked this guy. He's clearly knowledgeable and excited to teach, though he frequently goes off topic in his lectures and spends a lot of time on small details. He likes to put trick questions on his exams so you have to be very careful about reading every word. He loves when you participate in class, so it's a good idea to do that.
Takes way too long to post and/or grade assignments. Lectures are typically on random topics and can range from either 40 minutes to 2 hours long. The tests!!! They make no sense whatsoever. Study for everything... I mean random HR material because that's probably what is going to be on it. Doesn't really respond to emails either.
WORST CLASS EVER! If you have the opportunity to take it with any other professor do that! This class kills you with clicker questions and tests that usually get an average of 40%. He does curve a lot but this class was just unnecessarily difficult. PICK SOMEONE ELSE!
Study everything he puts on blackboard, read the book and pay attention to his lectures, the answers to his test and clicker items are from both. Easy paper to do. Attendance matters if you're not going to read the material. Test are worded a little different. Wish I would have known this before taking the class. Study, Study, Study!!!
This class is made difficult for absolutely no reason!!!!!! Long lectures and discussion board participation required. All the information is very lengthy and requires a lot of thought and attention. Seems like the course is made overly complicated for no reason.
I took his online class. It went well.
Final Grade was an A, so believe me when I say this is one of the hardest INTRO courses I have taken! FOUR hour online exams- 50+ MCQs and 2 essay portions, tedious homework assignments and a paper. He posts lectures online but is so vague that you'd fail without the book. It's like he gets enjoyment from announcing the 50% averages :/
He makes the online course much harder than needs to. Its difficult to get a response to an email from him. The midterm and final are way to long and again, too tedious. Midterms ard final are 4 hours and expect 100 questions. Lectures are very dry at best. Avoid if at all possible. Take any other Professor.
This class is ridiculously difficult for no reason. Don't depend on the lectures for a good grade, because the lectures have nothing to do with the exams. He focuses on the smallest details and tests us on the general stuff we didn't go over in class. If you could take this class with anyone else, DO IT. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR
DO NOT TAKE ARIEL LEVI. This class is really interesting (to me) and should be relatively easy, however, like the other students from this semester say, Professor Levi tests you on the most minuscule details that were never covered in class, and makes the exams ridiculously hard. Lectures have basically zero to do with exam material, read the book!
Avoid this professor at all cost. He gives way to many articles and videos for this class. The material for this class is interesting but he makes it way to boring and too much work for no reason. Lectures are boring, test are hard and professor is sarcastic. I ended up dropping this classes and will wait for another professor to teach it.
Avoid this professor. Lectures are more of articles and videos. His lectures are boring. He gives numerous articles to read on top of the book in addition to videos. His test are hard and doesn't cover half of the material he lectures on. Very sarcastic and his racism can be detected in his lectures. Choose another professor for this course.
Online chapter assignments and discussion boards are easy and dont take long to do. Not a heavy loaded class. Exams are 4 hours (open window) which is fair because there are 75 multiple choice to answer. I would rather have more time allowed and finish early, than to feel as if not enough time was allowed!
No structure he randomly assigns papers that he grades you on with no feedback the highest you can get is a 99 on anything he will not give 100. There are tons and tons on articles to read the exams are so hard. Do not take this guy online at least I don't know about in person.
Read the article and answer one or two questions about the article and you get credit. Everything in the articles and what he points out in his lectures will be on the test.
Im Surprised how many bad ratings Professor Levi has. He is not as bad as rate my professor states. I have actually taken MGT 5700 online in the summer and Taking MGT 5770 This fall. He is amazing and very caring. Listen to lectures you should pass easily. I asked for Halloween candy and he got the class candy on Halloween :)! Highly recommend him!
Very kind, caring professor. His lectures are thought provoking and engaging. He motivates students to do well and provides all the material needed for the exam. Hands down one of the best professors at this university!
Excellent professor. He is very clear in his lectures and easy to follow. He is also very kind and I 100% recommend him
Amazing professor who is caring and knowledgable. pay attention and you will pass!
Prof Levi is a bit odd, but it's not the worst class I've had. A lot of his content is based around articles he likes and a lot of the tests are like that. It can make exams really hard, but his curves are wild. I got a 78% on the first exam and he counted it as an A. Lectures are boring and hard to get through but it wasn't awful. It is safe.
This class was engaging for being on-line; materialinteresting, lectureshelpful, and the add. articles very relevant to the material. Weekly quizzeseasy (from the book). You must put in the effort for the case studies & discussion forums (not hard work though). Exams were lengthy, but given an adequate amount of time (took me full 4 hrs).
A wonderful professor who is kind and always ready to help. Would reccomend
Great teacher who is passionate about his job. I enjoyed his lectures and he made class fun at times. He tests off his lectures and all the reading material. Take good notes and you will do fine. Tests are really hard so you need to go over the material with a fine tooth comb to be sure you got everything. The material itself was pretty easy.
Test's are nearly impossible because it is all based on all of these articles and on really specific examples from his zoom lectures, which no one is really going to remember. So they are made overly complicated. There are a few group projects, but other than that your grade is based solely on exams.
Caring professor who is very knowledgeable in his subject. Exams are tough, make sure you read all of the articles he assigns (which is quite a few, but trust me theyll be on the exams). One small team debate, one team project/presentation, midterm, and final. Hes a good professor but you have to actually do the work to get a good grade.
While you can tell he is very insightful and knows what he is talking about, be ready to teach yourself EVERYTHING. His grading was slightly fair, but he gives no explanation as to why he grades the way he does. He was just an okay teacher. I would suggest taking someone else if you can though. This was not an easy A, you need to work hard.
Very kind, funny, encouraging professor. Answers emails fast. Barely any homework, maybe 4 easy 10-question quizzes throughout the semester. Big group project though but he is very helpful assisting students how to do it and get a good grade. Easy A and enjoyable lectures. Attendance mandatory.
The reviews for this professor are misleading. He was the only professor I could take for this class and the reviews made me nervous, however, it was actually not bad at all. Yes, you will have to read some articles, watch his lectures (a little lengthy, but informative), and use the online textbook - but this is grad school. I would take again.
This is my second time having him. I had no other choice but to take him and he is fine. He is very bad at getting assignments posted on time so be prepared to scramble a bit to get work done and his in person lectures and very long. be ready to ready and do lots of group work. for the final he allows 1 page front and back with notes.
