Hard class but a good one. Dr. Mays went out of her way to arrange for extra lab time and made herself available beyond her normal office hours. Learned alot.
HARD CLASS. But Dr. Mayes is great! If you go to all the lab hours, show her you are making an effort, and ask a lot of questions you will do well. Don't be shy, she is really approachable.
Tough class, but Dr. Mayes lectures makes it interesting and fairly easy to understand. The 3 outside of class projects are easy and very fun to do. Don't miss any labs, do well on projects and tests and you'll definately get a good grade.
Hard class, but Dr. Mayes made it easy. Just pay attention and you will do fine.
Not necessarily a hard class, just a lot of work. All the info is there, you just gotta study it. No trick questions. She kept it interesting by showing us skulls, bones, videos, on top of lecture. It was funny when she told jokes no one else could understand but her and she made herself crack up for a second.
This class is hard, there is a lot to know, but if you go to class, pay attention and take notes you will do fine. Dr. Mayes was always helpful and encouraged questions. She was always ready to have extra office hours and lab time if needed. She is a great professor!! She makes the class really fun too and knows her stuff!
Do not take class with this professor. Gives out study guides, test ?s not on study guides or book. Does not teach during class. Waste of your time. Failed test even though i read book twice and knew the study guide. No need for to go to lectures.
The osteology class is very hard, but Dr. Mayes makes it very interesting. No tests...your grade is based on quizzes that are given once a week. She is very helpful and has open labs. The textbooks helped out so much. I would recommend this class.
Very difficult class, teacher has terribly disorganized lecture, no point in attending class, nothing from lecture or reading on test. Tests extremly difficult, do not take this professor.
got Cs and Ds on all tests, but did extra credit assignment and got an easy A on the writing assignment- passed with a B. tests aren't easy, but i didnt put much effort into class and I still passed. not sure i would recommend it, but it wasnt as bad as everyone else is making it out to be.
Pretty easy workload-wise, no homework, only 2 tests. But she's very unorganized and can't spell or put sentences together that make sense. and when she said stuff that was wrong, we corrected her and showed her the book and she kept saying the book's wrong, and would figure out later that she was wrong but wouldn't tell us.
Hmmm...would I reccommend Dr. Mayes? I did get an A, but I think she bumped me up for trying. You will learn a lot in the labs. She knows HER stuff, but I'm not so sure about non-forensic topics. She has a hard time speaking in public. If you go to her office hours, she will explain the most important parts of her lecture. No paper, though!!!
OK, how to explain her without being libelous...she is TERRIBLE!! Her lectures are oh so boring and pointless...her study guides and tests do not cover any of the info covered in lecture and reading the book doesn't help!! If you take this as an easy A exploration class, think again because it's ridiculous!!
She's a good instructor. Four Scantron exams and she dropped the lowest grade. No term paper. She gave lots of opportunity for extra credit. Class was interesting; it entertaining, like a Discovery Channel show but you could ask questions. Attendance wasn't "mandatory" but sometimes she'd give out extra points for being there.
Don't listen to the old reviews on here she isn't bad. Lectures are hit and miss depending on the subject some are very interesting. 4 tests she drops the lowest plenty of extra credit opportunities. Tests are a little tricky but just study her power points and read the book and you will do fine. Put in some effort and its an easy A or B.
Overall not a bad class, but her organization skills are lacking. Class a little boring at times but 4 exams and you get to drop one with lots of extra credit opportunities, so as said previously an A or B is well within reach.
I'm not an anthro major, so i thought this class was extremely boring. Drink a red bull before every class if you plan on taking notes. Mays tries her best to engage students and make the subject matter come to life. She is helpful and willing to answer any questions. just like any other class, its not difficult if you study and ask questions.
idk what's wrong with ppl who said that she's oh so terrible n yadayada... i mean.. come on. I took her forensic anthropology class for exploration. Turns out to be the easiest class ever. She's so enthusiastic and she knows what she is talking about. I can't describe how I love her class + I never miss this class. easy A!! take her!
I found her class easy only because she teaches it extremely well. Nothing is ambiguous and she finds a way to make everything interesting. She brings in amazing guest lecturers. I took this for GE just to learn something new and I don't regret it!
This class used the book to do the online homework...dont buy the lab book until after the first homework..DID USE IT! only three tests and if you study the homework and go to class you should get an A.
This was a great GE class. Ms. Mayes made the lectures fascinating and easy enough so non-anth majors could understand. The homework was done online and 99% of the test questions came straight from the homework. She was easy to contact when questions came up while doing homework and responded fast. The TA (Maggie) was also very helpful.
Well versed on the material, every test has a study guide that she gives and if you know the study guide you should dang near ace every test. No papers, No cumulative final.
What an interesting class! I learned a lot and it made me interested in the Anthropology major. It is not possible to get less than A if you go to class, follow her directions for studing for final, do HW, and don't miss the class. She is very approachable, inteligent and good to students. We need more teachers like her!
I would have to say this is one of the most interesting classes I took at SDSU. Dr. Mayes is very clear and straight forward in lectures. There are 3 exams; the exams are about 75% based off of past homework assignments and the rest is on lectures and guest speakers. There is homework everywhere, but it isn't difficult because it is done online. =]
Dr. Mayes is super nice. Exams are easy, as long as you do the study guide. Overall, easy A!
Love her. Easy class. Pretty gorey, but very interesting. Keep up with the reading and know the study guide and you'll ace this class. 14 HW assignments online and three scantron exams. That's it. You don't HAVE to go, but about 5% of the exam is only available through the lectures.
Prof. M. is very interesting and explains concepts really well even in a large class. make sure to do the homework and memorize the pix. class is acutally not too gory as it deals mostly with skellys.
Awesome professor! She keeps it interesting. Any premed would love this class, but it's easy for everyone. You just have to read (not in detail), do the homework, and read the powerpoints (its best to attend class).
For such an interesting topic her lectures are pretty dull. She will talk about a picture for 10 min but when there is info we need to write down she skips through and says that we can get it online. The hw and reading are really interesting and I didn't mind doing those at all. Her tests are heavily weighted and are tricky, study guide helps a lot
Forensic Anthropology, can't remember the course #. I had no idea what class was before I took it, just needed the GE. I LOVED this class! Dr. Mayes is passionate about the subject, funny, and very likable. Do the homework and study from it, the tests are almost exactly like the homework. I am now very interested in F. Anthro because of class.
One of the best teachers I've ever had. Physical anth is the class, very interesting, have to attend to do good or you will get lost. Labs are really fun, but at the same time there's a LOT of info to remember but its doable. Overall, if you study the labs and read the book, you'll be fine and after this class, you will know every bone of your body
Very interesting class. Awesome guest speakers. GO to class, it really helps, though most of what she talks about is in the book. Loved learning about forensics, if thats what you like, take her class. If you are familiar with the field, its an easy class. Online qizzes are easy because you can take them twice. plus they help on the tests.
Mayes is awesome! She is very passionate and has a lot of experience in the field. Very interesting class. No attendance but lectures are very helpful.
Dr. Mayes is awesome!!! Loved this class, if you go to lecture and pay attention, homework and exams should be a breeze. She offers 10 pts of extra credit in case you missed a homework. The guest lectures were interesting as well.
Don't understand all the positive reviews. This class was awful. Went through powerpoints too quickly to understand anything. Read straight off the already extremely vague slides. Had slides on the ppts that weren't even in the ones she posted on blackboard. Tedious information to study in mass amounts. Waste of time if looking for an easy GE.
Dr. Mayes is extremely knowledgeable about Forensics Anthropology and her skills within the area come across in her teaching of the subject matter. Even in a very large class, such as ours, Dr. Mayes made sure every student understood the material and had every opportunity to earn a good grade. Excellent guests and videos, cute teaching assistant.
If you want an easy GE class, do yourself a favor and skip this one. I wanted a GE that wouldn't take much time so I could focus on other coursework. Taking this class did the exact opposite. I spent more time studying for this than my other classes. 3 tests, LOTS of information for each one, can be tedious. Avoid.
Seems really smart but she doesn't know how to teach. She has an hour and 40 minutes to teach students in our summer class but usually shows videos or talks about old stories from the smithsonian and leaves it to you to study her vague powerpoints for 80+ question tests. no curve either. Never taking her again.
Took the class for a GE, she FLYS through powerpoints as if you are a speedtyper. Races through powerpoints, doesnt answer questions. powerpoints in class are different from online version. Knows her stuff, but does not know how to actually teach properly... oh yeah and 300+ students in a classroom, so hard to get questions answered...Got a B
Lectures are repetitive at times, and she does read from the slides. But she is a delightful and smart person; likes engaging with students. Class can be boring, but go because she has extra credit on tests from lecture-only information. Not bad for a GE. Tests are not easy, but not hard either considering it's college! Easy to get 100% on HW.
Really interesting class specially for those interested in the forensic field. class is based on lectures (powerpoints) which are kind of repetitive at times and sometimes even boring! Professor might not be very clear at times but as long as you review the online notes and homeworks you'l do fine. 3 multiple choice exams and 1-2 extra credit paper
The one thing about this class if she were do the assignments and midterms/finals as a point system grading I would have gotten an A but instead I got a B-... Exams are 90 percent of your grade! 10 percent on home work. I never used the book, Exams are somewhat hard, and lecture is SUPER boring. But the professor was really nice.
Cool class! Required for the GE discoveries for SDSU. I had absolutely NO interest in this class and really found it interesting! Great teacher, exams are almost straight from the powerpoints. Gives extra credit. Cool guest speakers. Weird grading system though... Thought I got an A and got a B+ at the end of the course. Oh well! Take her!
Fantastic professor. Very nice and knows her field well. Attendance is important although she provides her lectures on blackboard. Labs help you understand are legitimately interesting.
Boring lecture. Literally reads right off the powerpoint. Complains when people dont come to class but then misses class herself. Literally watched about 6 movies last semester because she was gone. I felt like I was in high school. The material was cool, but her delivery is bland & forgettable. Relatively easy course.
Loved this class. Powerpoints for lecture which she posts but not all info/pictures are on them. HW online for almost every class. Tests were based on what she taught. She was gone a couple times but once was unexpected and another was due to work. If you don't like dead bodies or talking about murders don't take this class.
Dr. Mayes is amazing. She's funny and very kind. Unfortunately she's not the kind of professor who benefits from large lecture. She's better in her smaller session courses. Regardless this class is super easy. Three exams and that's it. Go to class. Most of the material is from her lectures. Book isn't terribly important but is a good supplement.
This class was pretty fun. I attended all of the classes and we had some cool guest speakers. Sometimes, the lectures were very dull but she tries to keep her students interested. I like her and I would take her again.
Very funny and nice teacher. The one complaint I have is that she uses a lot of jargon that I didn't understand. She expects you to know all of the terminology which I didn't (and most don't because it's a GE). But as long as you read the book and take good notes in class, you will do fine on the exams. I got an A. Extra credit is offered a lot
I loved Dr. Mayes' class! It was so interesting and the guest speakers that she brings in just add something extra that makes the class really fun and exciting to go to. She does use the book for online reading quizzes and you should go to class or at least study the slides for the tests otherwise you won't do well.
Mayes is a standard professor a class of 400 ish large lecture, she goes off topic and frankly loses everyones attention. You don't need to go to class. Lectures are irreverent and she posts them on blackboard. Study the HWquizzes! She uses the identical answers on her exams. 3 Exams (90%) Fair amount of online HW (10%)
A very nice professor. She has experience with forensic anthropology so that's cool. She let class out early a handful of times. She knows many people in the class are taking it for GE. No papers. About 5 extra credit questions on each test. Multiple choice only on tests. Watched a few videos and had guest lecturers.
She covers lecture material super fast, she doesn't like the use of PC's and don't try to takes pictures when she moves too fast. She frequently missed class. If you enjoy reading vs learning from a teach this is your class. Her tests are too detailed for a upper division GE class, I would have never taken her knowing what I do now.
This class is just too hard for an upper division GE because the test questions are too specific. If you are not in the anthropology major, then this class is not for you. Got an A in this class thanks to the google doc. Do all the HW and go to class because some of the exam questions are based on the video that you watched in class and on the HW.
Dr. Mayes goes too fast on the lectures which is not relevant to the ones posted on blackboard. The class consist of 3 exams and homework assignments. H.W. is open book and is a good resource to study for the exams. There were a lot of films and guest lecturers which made the class somewhat interesting. Exams were not too hard if you study.
Awesome lectures. Although I was not an Anthro Major, I was really interested in her class. Homework was fairly easy and Exams were really easy as well. I got by with an earlier version of the book. You really only need the book for homework, which was not a lot. Highly recommend.
Dr. Mayes was an excellent professor. Three major tests, plenty of extra credit and really interesting lectures! Her teaching style is very clear and easy to keep up with, she keeps it interesting and entertaining and explains everything well. I would suggest you attend class, test questions will be based off of specific things she says.
Modern Forensics had gory photos, so squeamish need not apply! Loved this class! Had 3-4 in class exams based on lecture and homework (which was done on BB). Study guides provided and helpful. EC ?'s come from in class conversations or films. Gave several EC opportunities, take advantage of these bc it would have changed my A- to an A. Great Class!
Really easy and interesting course, she knows her material well. Do the homework, alot of questions on the homework are copy and pasted on the exams. She goes way too fast on her slides during lectures and doesn't allow electronics. She gives extra credit. Overall, the class with her is fairly easy.
This was a very interesting class! I would definitely take it again. The exams are based off of the homework and lectures. Studying only the google doc is practically enough to pass the class. I didn't go to most classes, however, they were interesting and I wish I went to more. Take this class!
She goes too fast, BUT her class was fairly easy. The book was pointless. Like 50% of the exams are from the hw on bb THAT YOU CAN GO LOOK OVER MANY TIMES. She gives you 2 chances to do the hw if you don't get a 100% the first time, & BB gives you the answers, so you cant fail the 2nd time! LOVED THIS CLASS! She made me want to minor in Anthro!
Very good professor who knows what she's talking about. The hw is online and is pretty easy so don't fret there. My only complaint I have is sometimes her tests would have the smallest details she might have covered for a second in her lecture and then omit major subjects you might think to study a lot. Still a really fun class and interesting too.
She goes pretty fast in her powerpoints so it's difficult to take notes; she posts the slides on Bb but they're often incomplete so you can't really get all the notes. Hw everyday but you get 2 chances so the TB isn't really necessary. Exams can get really specific and can include things she says during lectures. Tip: really know your bones.
Even though subject was interesting, she made me not like the class bc she is so disorganized and it seems like she just talks about random things in class as if you know them and doesnt really explain much. Doesn't let you use electronics to take notes and goes super fast. I only learned by reading the book. Extra credit is easy and very helpful!!
Tests are on the most trivial pieces of information that may have only been briefly mentioned during class. Her powerpoints and teaching style are very disorganized which made it hard for me to follow. Additionally, we are not allowed to take notes using electronics. Powerpoints are online with most of the vital information gone.
Forensic class takes place in the very large Storm Hall West classroom. The instructor is very deep in her studies. The lectures are very well composed.
Interesting topic & Dr. Mayes is very knowledgeable and has inspiring research. However, she seems too invested in her personal work to truly be there for students. She acted annoyed anytime someone raised their hand. Exams had random questions that she briefly mentioned during lecture. Powerpoints were pointless. 0/10 wouldn't recommend.
GO TO CLASS and pay VERY close attention bc many questions contain the smallest detail covered in her lecture that you won't find in the textbook. the hw is very easy you get 2 attempts (identical questions), so its an automatic 100%. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT, its 10 points added to the 3rd exam and it will raise your grade a lot! reason why I got an A
Summer 6 week course. Grade is based on the following: 8 HW 25% and 2 tests 75%. If you are an anthro major or enjoy history, the course is interesting and relatively easy. Lectures could be better organized, but I would take another course with this teacher.
Take comments on here w/ a grain of salt. My experience with Mayes was awesome. Super interesting class. Prof is super knowledgeable & approachable. Clear exams. HW is online is real short & boosts ur grade. Provides study guide before exam (use that and the HWs to study). Go to lecture, do ur HWs, and study you'll do fine & OFFERS EXTRA CREDIT.
Prof Mayes is the real deal! Lectures are well versed, organzied, informative, and genuinely interesting. She brings a plethora of experience in the field, with colorful stories of her work situations. Be prepared to work, hard for your grade though. This class is no joke! Bone anatomy learning will be tedious.
Mayes is your stereotypical college professor. Cool when she wants to be but also literally owns a shirt that says "It's in the syllabus". What she teaches is interesting stuff, though her lectures can be hard to sit through at times. Still go to them!! Exams may seem easy but you better study. Loved this class. Loved Mayes. You won't regret it.
I thought this class was going to be super interesting but it was reallyyyy boring. I really hated sitting through her lectures. She is super smart and seems to forget that many students taking the class are not anthro majors. I wouldn't recommend if you want an interesting class
The class was really interesting but difficult too. Mayes is a really knowledgeable professor but sometimes she assumes that everyone knows what she's talking about all the time. Her tests weren't horrible but you have to study and go to the lectures if you want to get a good grade.
Now this is a summer class! Take it online and you'll be fine
Lectures are pretty interesting, depends on whether you like that subject. Do the homework, and save the questions. Her tests are 80% copy +paste of the homework, and the rest is usually lecture. Has a few guest lectures and offers extra credit. Also took her for ANTH349. Provides study guides.
Very clear and easy to navigate. Lectures can be a bit boring. 8 homework assignments which you have 2 chances on and you get the answers to any that you get wrong on after the first submission. Midterm was pretty easy if you study and you have a plenty of time, Final is tough and double the length of the midterm with same amount of time so study!!
If you're not an anthro major and you're just looking to take this class to fulfill a GE requirement/elective, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. She's one of the worst professors I've ever had. Her lectures are super boring and they don't really make sense half the time. HW is easy but tests are like ??? Do not take if you're looking for an "easier" class.
This was one of the coolest classes I have ever taken, super interesting. Also pretty tough. The class is huge- like 200 people. Your grade is based on weekly homework assignments and three exams. Dr. Mayes is super passionate, but she does tend to go fast. I tried my best to write everything I could and barely got out with A-
Dr. Mayes is super knowledgable and is extremely passionate about what she teaches, especially towards the end of the semester. Tests are hard, but I studied hard for the first test and got an A. If I was an Anthropology major I would love this class even more, but since I am not I got confused a lot of times during lectures.
Very difficult class, but not impossible. Tests include specific stuff from lectures, so skipping class WILL lower your grade. Tests are super long and hard. Def take advantage of the extra credit opportunities. Be prepared to read, cause even with going to lectures, the material is very hard to understand. Would not recommend as a GE.
Mayes' lectures are really engaging and interesting but you have to go to class. She only posts partial lectures online so going to class is important. if you study the tests are easy and she offers multiple extra credit opportunities throughout the semester.
Overall okay class, I just dont like the fact that she lets her T.A. handle grades and everything else as there are some mistakes and discrepancies.
As a business student having to take this class for GE, I loved it! It has absolutely nothing to do with my major or anything I will do professionally but Dr. Mayes is more passionate, inspiring, and enthusiastic than any business teachers I've had. She works in the field, has incredible stories to tell, and is very respected & well connected.
Not a easy class by any means. There are 17-18 homework assignments. The second homework literally took over 3 hours to complete. You have to memorize every bone in the human body for the tests. Skip class you wont pass and will be super confused the following lecture. Would not recommend this class if anthology is not your major.
Prof Mayes is okay, pretty standard. However her TA was rude! She was not approachable at all, which was unfortunate considering she handled everything.
Professor Mayes is cool and the TA is cool too. The point of the class is to learn about forensic anthropology and bones are included, however, the whole class is not memorizing the human body. The class can be very hard but if you study and ASK TA for help then it makes things a lot easier. The textbook is DEFINITELY used. Try and you will pass.
Mayes was an interesting professor and made class bearable. The exams are pretty difficult though... Everything she says is fair game for the exams so it was tough to study because essentially we were studying everything. Some questions were very specific. Study guides don't tend to help either... The homeworks were two attempts so that was nice.
Okay, if you're super into this subject I bet this class is incredible. Me, an idiot with all things science, had a very hard time with the lectures after the first week. If you don't really know the bones then this entire class is like a diff language. I suffered tremendously and learned nothing but you probably could if you like bones and death
Mayes is great and the topic is fascinating. However, the tests are HARD. Study study study and study some more. Read the textbook, go over your notes and take really good notes and a lot of notes. Everything is fair game on the test, even the things that seem like tangents -- ALL her stories are fair game. But on the plus side, its interesting!
When I took this class, exams were worth 70% of our grade. Not sure if it was just my section, but the unweighted grades were shown until the last week of class and everyone started panicking. Exams were somewhat difficult; study guides are a general basis for them. Lectures can be somewhat interesting IF you are somewhat invested in the topic.
Her tests were online and lectures were recorded. It was a pretty solid class, until she inputted the unweighted grade. It would've been nice if she were to put in the correct grade before the last two weeks of the sem.
Dr. Mayes is a great professor, you can tell she is super caring. However, the material is very dense. You must go to the lectures if you want a good grade in this class. You may be able to get by not attending any lectures, but it'll be very hard to come back from it. Go to the lectures and you shall pass! Get the textbook as well!
Dr. Mayes had good intentions with this course, but I was not aware of just how heavy this class would be. I took this class as a GE and feel like Anthropology should be my major based on how much I have to know about this material. Dr. Mayes unfortunately was not the best communicator and was gone quite a bit for an excavation. Not my favorite.
Dr. Mayes seems like she might be a nice person, but she clearly doesn't care about her students. Not only did she leave for two weeks and gave us no instruction on what to do while she was gone, but she also expected us to be there even when she wasn't. The tests are extremely hard & study guides didn't help. The only hope for a good grade was hw.
Honestly a really boring class, it's more of an anatomy class than forensics. Professor was nice but the tests were super hard. You definitely need to read the textbook and go to lectures to get an A.
Pretty straight forward class, you have homework assignments due every week through canvas and you have 2 opportunities to get 100%. (It does show you the answers and why it's correct.) Class lectures are interesting, guest speakers are very important since they are in the exam. EC is very important.
Prof is unenthused towards people but loves the subject. Quiz can be taken 2x, viewable correct answers. Exams are disorganized, difficult; should be broken down into two exams since each chapter is so comprehensive; way too long; ch 1-6, 78 MCQ. Study guide is NOT helpful- most areas specificed are not even on the exam. Have to do EC to pass.YIKES
Not like other classes. Don't trust pre-made quizlets, she changes the exam every semester. Don't trust study guides she gives, they don't apply to exams either. To get an A you MUST show up to class. Exam material is mostly based on lectures which she alters each semester. Quizlet is not your friend in this class.
Homework assignments help pad your grade as there is 2 attempts with answers viewable. Exams were extremely difficult. She gives a study guide that covers not even half of what is given on the exams, and the exams are taken in class and are around 85 questions multiple choice and true/false.
Do not take this class, it sounds like it would be fun but its not, you need to have a huge grasp in anthropology even if you aren't an anthropology major to do well. The tests usually have about half of what the study guide actually includes and the lectures are usually useless because its rarely included on the tests.
Its mostly based on hw and 3 exams. Half of the exam questions are irrelevant to the real world. It includes a lot of random facts and stories about herself or people she knows. It covers multiple chapters at once and is an in person scantron. The study guide only helps a little. I would try to avoid this teacher is possible.
4 for difficulty because I took the class without having any prior experience/knowledge in the subject. Lectures are interesting. Attendance is required. Don't miss guest lectures. Impossible to get a bad grade on any of the hw's. Exams are long and difficult (no notes, scantron provided). Exam results are given upon request and emailing TA. STUDY
Prof Mayes is passionate about the subject, but the course is quite challenging. Homework helps, but exams are tough. unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for study prep - highly recommend!
This class was extremely interesting and Professor Mayes is very knowledgeable in her field. She's definitely one of those professors who's a researcher first and a teacher second. Her TA was more reliable and helpful when it came to teaching and open labs.
Ms. Mayes is an interesting person with a lot of experience in her subject she teaches. Her exams are really tough though for a GE (I have no experience in forensic anthropology), and some of her exams questions are irrelevant to what she teaches. I would avoid this class if you can.
Professor Mayes is really good at breaking down the textbook information in her lectures, and she incorporates some of her research into the lectures. There are also guest lectures as well on some of their own research. While I do like the class, the study guides are vague and typically do not match the information on the exams.
Her lectures were unstructured, unorganized, and unengaging. When a student would ask a question, she was very skilled at not answering the question and making it seem like the person asking it was a burden on her and the class.
Fun class, mainly graded by 3 tests but if you go to lecture and read the textbook they're doable. Takes a lot of questions from the quizzes and from in-class examples. She's really interesting.
Grade consists of 1/4 quizzes (2 attempts) and 3/4 exams (3 exams). Class is just lectures and some guest speakers throughout the semester (which are included in the exams). It's an easy and fun class if you pay attention and do the reading. It's a big class so it can be hard to hear if your not close enough but no complaints.
she is a good professor and the TA is super helpful, the only thing you need to be aware off is that at least 25/100 questions are based on class material only, such as lecture gests or things that arent mentioned in the slides or textbook
