He is probably the best professor I've had. He knows his material, and is able to articulate it to anyone. Take him if you want to learn, but don't expect an easy grade. I had to be there for every lcture and read all the material for me to get an "A." His study guides are the key to getting the material and doing good on the tests.

Excellent instructor. Do not miss an opportunity to take his class. He isn't afraid to teach sensitive topics and his classes are very interesting. I was often disappointed when the class was nearing an end. He always left us wanting to hear more.

HE'S A COOL TEACHER. HIS TESTS ARE VERY VERY VERY EASY. HE GIVES STUDY GUIDES AND GOES OVER THE ANSWERS BEFORE TAKING THE TEST. HE'S FUNNY AND KEEPS THE CLASS AWAKE BY ALL THE TOPICS DISCUSSED BY THE CLASS.

Very easy and funny professor. Keeps you interested the entire class session. I had him over the summer and didn't need my book at all for his tests. What he lectures is what's on the test. All you need to do is show up for notes and his study guide and you've got an "A".

I loved this class. The study guides he gives a week before the quizzes/tests are VERY helpful. Also we basically go over most of the answers right before the quiz/test is taken. Very interesting and easy class, as long as you show up and take lots of notes. He really knows a lot about the subject and seems excited to share it with the world.

This teacher is very nice. He is young, so he tolerates students. It's an easy class. He gives out these study guides and he goes over them right before the test. I really enjoyed the class and learned a lot on the subject.

One word and that is INCREDIBLE; his knowledge and style of teaching is truly the perfect way for students to understand the material. You would not even feel like you are forced to take this class but why does it have to be over. TAKE him . truly a wonderful teacher..

Can't say enough about how great this guy is. Best lecturer i've ever had, tests are relativly easy and if you don't do good you can re-take it open book to improve your grade. If you can't get a at least a B with minimal work you're a certified idiot.

Exams were a little bit tough but overall the class was easy. If you study and do all the homework assignments you can get a B. But if you do not study and do all the homework assignments you can get a C.

One of the best classes I had ever had at Pierce. This guy has amazing lectures. You must study hard in his class to get a good grade. He tries to help you out as much as possible but sometimes he does not succeed. Book is not required just study the notes and do the study guides and you are guaranteed a pretty good grade. Pretty easy class if you study and do your work. You must buy the textbooks and attendance is mandatory. He could get very boring at times because he always kept us until the end but at times he is very funny as well. You must do the study guide for his class or you will not pass his exams. Sometimes things are copied straight from the study guide.

this class was really easy to be honest with you. copy the powerpoint notes and study the notes and he also gives you the study guide with all the answers to the study guide all you have to do is go and study. BE AT CLASS EVERYDAY AND YOUR GOLDEN!

I did not like the way he taught he class because he says you need to buy the book and read it and then he says study the PowerPoints and then gives you a study guide which is right copy & pasted onto the test but the only thing I did not like is that he was not generous about grades because he gave us more to study than we actually had to

He is such a good professor. He explains everything clearly and warns you at the beginning of the semester that some people may be offended with some of things that you hear in the class. I actually learned a lot. He gives you study guides and goes over them before the test.

Professor Mgeryan makes you understand that most of the views presented in this class are not his own. He is a really good teacher, and his class is relatively easy. Reading the book is only needed for tests. And for each test he gives the class a studyguide. This class in an easy A!

Not the easiest Professor but absolutely clear on what to do to get a good grade in his class. You must read the book in order to get a good grade in his class. The study guides are key to doing even better in his class. His lectures are interesting but sometimes can get boring. Contrary, to the last comment he keeps us till the end & always shows.

This guy is amazing. I do not know what the other ratings are talking about. You need the book to do the study guides and if you do the study guides you are guaranteed a passing grade on the tests. Arman is the man! How can anyone complain about being able to re-write a EVERY test to recieve a full leter grade higher? Tests shouldn't be that hard unless you leave your book completely unopened outside class. Got a B with pretty minimal effort and found most of the concepts he teaches are just common sense! Take Him.

Ridiculously easy class. I paid $5 for the book online (older version) and didn't even have to use it. All tests based on lecture material. Pay attention in class and you'll do really well. Prof gives several chances for extra credit and lets you redo exams with an open book. Prof's tends to shout, but he's a cool guy. Very helpful and clear

Great professor. May move a little fast sometimes so must try to follow. Great story telling that relates to the lessons. Makes for clearer understanding. Helpful study guides. Gives a lot of extra credit opportunities! I did 4 extra credit assignments and that bumped me up from a B to an A. Note taking is everyday so attendance is mandatory.

A little hard but definitely worth taking. I got a "B" which is the lowest grade I ever got in a SOC course. I took SOC 2, 3 and 4 and got A's in all of them. SOC 1 is a little difficult but Mgeryan was always helpful. All you have to do is show up and he will let you retake exams.

Mgeryan is THE BEST professor you will ever have. He is extremely laidback, he WILL make you laugh as hard as you can SEVERAL times throughout the semester. He gives excellent(and funny) examples from his own life to help describe the material the best he can. If you get a C or lower he will let you retake the same test, open book and open notes!!!

He's vey passionate about his job and is willing to help students as much as he can. The tests are straight from the textbook and powerpoint. Altho he may require you to buy the textbook, you don't HAVE to. But it will help you if you miss class often, since most of his notes are from the book. He's very nice and friendly. I HIGHLY recommend him!

This was a great class made me look at things in a completely new light. The class was fun and interesting, as long as you study the notes you can pass with an A easily.I highly recommend this class.

Professor Mgeryan is the best Professor in the world. He is extremely helpful but he is a little too hard. Understand man who is very lenient but will f u if you do not do well on his exams.

He is good and informs you about interesting facts about life. He rambles on about socialism quite often, but it's part of the class. Much of this class is common sense. Take notes, you'll be fine

pretty easy class if you do the little assignments and acctually study for the test. dont take him if you are easily offended, some of the subjects he covers might be a little too graphic but overall pretty cool

I have taken him for all Socio classes and he is amazing. He is pretty easy and his study guides are the tests so make sure you do them! He is highly interesting and funny. Take him for sociology, you won't regret it. BTW don't buy the book, you never use it.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Pro Mgeryan is the greatest teacher ever in college. His lectures are fun and useful. He is very nice, helpful, and easy. Professor Mgeryan is a great teacher. His class is very interesting and he teaches very clear and well. There is a quiz,midterm,and final(he gives you a study guide for each one.) There are also 2-3 homework assignments. As long as you study the notes,study guide and show up to class you can get an A easily if you don't, don't expect an A at all!

This was the best class so far in Pierce. Professor Mgeryan is amazing, and his lectures are very interesting. I'm not majoring in Sociology but if I need to take another sociology class definitely would like to be in his class.

Easy enough...definitely need to take good notes. Don't argue with him, he has the need to always be right. Very fair when it comes to grading. Need to memorize quite a bit for the test.

Easy class. Study guides are basically what is going to be on the exam. But you have to make sure your study guide is correct, I would recommend going to his office hours and going over it with him to make sure you are studying the correct information.

This professor is amazing. His enthusiastic voice helps you pay attention and overall he is a great teacher! Not to many assignments and tests are what he teaches.

By the end of this class I even considered changing my major to sociology. Professor Mgeryan tells stories which makes the material easy to understand. He took attendance, gave some assignments, and three tests. Pretty good overall. And also I took this class during summer.

I took this class during the summer and even though it was at 8 in the morning class professor Mgeryan kept me awake. He was so interesting and funny. I loved this class. He also let us purchased the oldest edition of the book which saved me a couple of bucks. We had four test and his study guides were completely helpful!! I totally recommendHIM

The one thing I remember of Mgeryan is that he talks fast, and for the entire 3 hours with no break. It was exhausting. However, he was a very helpful and nice professor and he graded pretty easily. You'll have to study, but not too much. The end grade was based mostly on the research paper, and then on the quizzes and tests which were alright.

Very good lecture with current data. Lectures are very interesting and realistic. All the 3 home assignments and the final exams are 100% focused on lectures and slides. Accompanying with book makes preparation perfect for the 2 MCQ and 1 Final MCQ exam. If you follow the lectures nothing is difficult. Moreover, I was lucky to get this teacher.

Phenomenal, inspirational, and passionate teacher. I've learned so much from him this semester. He challenges your critical thinking skills and he really gets students engaged, especially if you sit in the front row. 3 1 page written assignments and 3 tests. He's not too easy with grading but you'll pass if you're a slacker. He's pretty cute too

Absolutely amazing lecturer. Really knows how to suck you into the lecture and topics at hand. Because he's a great speaker, I was able to actually learn many things about society in his class. Tests are easy and straight forward, uses many examples from his study guides. Seriously, take this guy.

He gives wonderful lectures but a lot of notes. Make sure you take thorough notes and don't be afraid to get into the discussion. He works with you to make sure you do well and gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit. I've taken him twice and will continue to. Textbook is optional, didn't get it.

his lectures were really good! he uses his own experiences/ experiences from classmates to help relate it to the subject. he made the class super interesting. there was only about 3 tests which were easy as long as you studied. I highly recommend him.

Buying the book is optional, he releases the chapters on canvas. He gives study guides for each chapter and a lot of the questions from the tests are copied and pasted straight from the study guides. His test are long and a little tricky but if you study, you'll be fine. He is funny and yes little disorganized but not too bad. I enjoyed his class.

took his winter session class and enjoyed it. hes really repetitive bcuz he wants you to understand the meaning of "society" and what not but other than that he's cool. fact based, his opinion is RARELY shown through lectures, which is comforting. he's a nice guy, definitely would take again.

One of my Fav sociology professors he does mainly lecture which I love! You must attend class to get notes because his tests are based on his lectures. Just make sure to study and you'll be good. Their was also some quizzes on canvas but they weren't difficult just tricky.

Spends time before class getting to know students w light hearted convos. Makes "dad-like" jokes. Lectures are lengthy but thorough. All power points from lectures and textbook are on canvas plus helpful articles to help understand material better. Study, participate in discussions and you'll learn a lot. Amazing teacher very straight to the point and if something is unclear can sum it down for you. He gives quizzes weekly but there straightforward and easy would recommend.

I took his in-person classes and it's very different compared to his online classes. I've learned and been inspired a lot from his lectures. His classes are not boring and he's one of the few professors I can listen all day. He gives out about 10-12 question quiz every week and they're not hard if you listened to his lectures.

He isn't strict and is fair on grading. His recorded lectures online are sometimes hard to hear but aren't boring.
