WOW!!!! this guy is GREAT!I have never had so much fun and learned so much, all at the same time. Plus, he is an awesome pianist, and performs examples of the lessons in class, which makes it all come alive.

Dr. Tranquilino expects a lot from us but he is reasonable and very helpful. I am glad I took this class with him. I thought I was pretty good but now I see that I have come a long way and learned a whole lot about sight singing and ear training. This class has helped me with my other music classes.

I am taking History of the Beatles with him right now and he is great. I was a Beatles fan, but he's so into it, that it makes it more fun. Easy going, notes are just like the tests. It's really worth it to go to all the classes.

History of the Beatles...Go to class and take notes and the exams will be easy. He also gives you a review for each test. There is a book to read but very few questions come from it. Listening is also on tests so know the songs. Nice teacher and fun class!

One of the coolest professors at FIU. Easy class if you're paying attention at all - and he keeps the class fun. I'd take any class he taught - and i'm not a music major.

I took History of the Beatles online and it was the worst online expirience I ever had. Nothing was posted on time, and it was really stressful. Also, the tests are not that easy and theres like no time to finish them. Really cool idea of a class though.

There were some problems with some lectures posted late but the prof. gave us an extension each time. You have no excuse if you don't get an A in this class, or you have to be really lazy!!

Great class for any Beatles fan, it's fun but you still learn. 10 of the questions in every exam consist of listening a 30 second clip of a song and identifying its name.

Beatles class-AMAZING!! All tests are multiple choice with ten listening questions. You get to watch youtube videos almost everyday! If you like the Beatles, you'll LOVE this class! It's actually fun to go to!

This man made me love the beatles. I couldn't ask for an easier or more interesting class. Grades consist of 4 tests which are a piece of cake of you either go to class or buy the book. I didn't buy the book and passed. The class consists of basically a bunch of clps of the beatles and how theiir songs came to be. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! :)

The beatles class was the BEST!! , if you like the beatles, by the end, you will LOVE them . Great great class, buy the book , read and you wont put it down. Its great. He doesnt curve, so study. Attendance not mandatory, 4 exams. thats it.

One of the best classes I have taken. I already loved the Beatles but Dr.T revealed information I had never heard about and showed the class really interesting videos. He also brought Joe Johnson, of Magic 102.7 as a guest speaker. If you attend class, take notes and read the book you will have no problems.

Not an easy A. Very interesting material especially if you already love The Beatles. By no means is this an easy A class though, you will need to study. A whole semester on one band, you can expect tests to be very specific. Good teacher, fun experience.

Super fun class! If you like the beatles, you will have a MUCH greater appreciation for them after taking tranquilino. He is a great professor, tests are easy but long and detailed. Know your stuff and you will pass. Very intelligent and cute in a clooney way ;) lol

Took on line. Reading (needed to pass test) with book c.d. each week with 4 test and just 2 assignments the semester. Test are pretty easy (60 q,multiple choice) but the FIU on-line site can be a hassle. He's understanding though.Prof took a few days to reply to e-mails. Recommend!

Easy A! There are 4 tests but he drops the lowest test grade. The book is needed so don't believe any comments about it not being used.

This class is fascinating. You learn about The Beatles in a way that humanizes them and truly celebrates them. You learn about them from the beginning...so you can't help but feel attached to them by the end. Go to every lecture. There are helpful reviews right before every test. If you love rock music, you will miss this class as soon as its over.

Study the book, show up for movies (he gives attendance points those days) and you'll be fine. I learned a lot about The Beatles and definitely learned some new songs that have become some of my favorites!

Easiest A I have ever received. Took this class online and not only was it easy, it was interesting. Grades are solely based on 5 quizzes (which are easy online because you can go back into the lectures.) He's there if you need him and explains things well. If anyone fails this class they fail at life. I strongly recommend for an elective.

Just b/c class is Hist of Beatles, doesn't mean its an Easy A. I got a B+. 4- 70 Q tests. First 10 is song ID. Rest of Qs come from book/lecture. READ BOOK. Prof's gives away some Q's on test review day. Nice prof, kind, helpful, FAIR, good sense of humor. I really enjoyed this class after a hard day. Beatles brightened my day+life w their music!

Easiest class I have ever taken. It is 5 tests (each 50 questions). I did not receive lower than a 90 on each. During the tests you should have the online text and control find every answer. Super easy, and interesting

EASY CLASS :D Five tests (20% each). Just read the pdf files 2 hours before the test and its a guaranteed 100% It's that simple to ace the class! That being said I loved the class, I actually did learn a lot. I recommend taking this course with Grabowski's MUH 3019 class. It's upper level, online, still easy, and compliments this class very well!

Loved this class! I liked the Beatles before, but now I'm obsessed. The class is interesting, and entertaining. Tests straight from the book, and he tells you what to study. You have to listen to the songs or you won't do well. I listened to one CD per week and read the book and got an A. Takes attendance when class is empty. Overall excellent!

This class makes you learn so much about the Beatles that you've never imagined. Pretty easy, prof. is a chill dude, exams are easy if you read the chapters or attend class. You do have to listen to the music, but that shouldn't be a problem.

AMAZING. You need the book and you must listen to the songs. If you're a Beatles fan at all you will love the class like I did. :-D

Only 5 quizzes online in the entire class. No book is required, he gives you the material. I would take him again. I missed one of the tests and still got a B. One extra credit paper which replaces a test grade.

BEST ONLINE CLASS! I highly recommend you take him. It's an easy "A" BUTTTT it's also so much fun to take and learn. Honestly grew a love for rock music and an understanding of it because of this course. He's a GREAT teacher. 5 tests, all STRAIGHT from notes. Don't even bother buying the book, even for $0.30. Makes material interesting! LOVED HIM

Took online for elective credit. EASY A. I actually liked the lectures and found them so interesting I looked forward to reading them. I learned way more than I expected. Responded to emails quick, 5 super easy tests on BlackBoard, can do discussions for extra credit, NO TEXT BOOK NEEDED!. Rate 1010 would take again!

I took him online for the History of the Beatles course and decided to take another online class with him this semester. He doesn't respond to emails the quickest because most of the guidelines are so straightforward I guess he doesn't get too many questions, but I needed help once because I accidentally missed a test and he was so helpful!

Took this class, Beatles, and Rock music class Online during summer. Loved both classes!!Easy A but I actually enjoyed the class, just read the material and listen to the songs you will do fine. He was very helpful during both classes. Recommend!!!

He is great. The Beatle's class was so interesting, I'm even more of a fan now. I plan on taking his rock music class next semester. Attendance isn't mandatory, I only went for the tests; but I did read the entire book and listen to all the songs. There were 4 exams (in class) & 4 online quizzes.

Great Professor that wants to see you get a good grade. Really straight forward syllabus. The book is a necessity and the practice quizzes help you with the test. Definitely glad I took this to fill an elective requirement!

Fantastic class! Love the Beatles even more after discovering more about their lives and music. Professor is very understanding and helpful. Four tests and four quiz is all you are required. Read the textbook. You have to not care or be really dumb not to get an A here.

Took the in person lectures Beatles class. Loved the class, prof is amazing. His lectures are great, sometimes demonstrates songs with guitar. 4 quiz and 4 tests multiple choice. Get the textbook. Highly recommend!!

Took him for History of The Beatles & taking him for History of Rock. This class is ridiculously easy, 3 exams and quizzes. That's it. All multiple choice. On the down side, if you miss an exam it'll definitely hurt your grade

Took the history of the beatles class online, easiest A i've ever received. He wrote the textbook himself, easy to copy + F search words for quizzes, only 4 quizzes and 4 exams- super super easy, take this while you can! I loved to learn about the beatles and he does a great job.

One of the most wonderful professors I've ever taken. You can clearly see that he's super invested and interested in the topics that he teachers, and that's always important for inspiring students to do better. I also loved chatting with him on Beatles related topics after class, and he even gave my great advice on something I had asked about.

Took both this class and MUH 2370 and loved them both! Prof. Tranquilino is very considerate of his students, there is no huge workload, and even provides extra credit in the form of discussion posts. Would love to take him again if he taught any other classes. You do have to buy textbook access because all quizzes will be on the website.

Simple class, very straight forward. 4 Tests, quizzes, he's very responsive to emails and will reopen exams if missed. You do have to purchase the book to his class in order to complete the quizzes.

This class consisted of 5 discussions and 5 quizzes. He posts the lecture notes for each module and the discussions and quizzes come straight from this. He is easy to reach and responds quickly. Overall, super easy class.

Super fun class to take as an elective. Only five modules, each with a 50 question quiz and a discussion. Learned a lot about the evolution of Rock and different bands, would definitely recommend :)

Class is made up of 6 short and easy discussions, 4 easy 20 question quizzes, and 4 long but easy tests. Buying the pdf textbook from the publisher is mandatory because that is where quizzes are taken. All the information comes directly from the textbook. Overall an interesting, easy elective.

Dr. Tranquilino is amazing. First, the class is amazing and easy. You will have to be super lazy to get anything less than an A. Responds to messages very fast. He listens and is very understanding. Wish he had more classes that I could take.

Easy and interesting class. 5 quizzes, tests, and discussions. The textbook must be purchased on his website to gain access to the quizzes, that's the only thing that sucks but other than that I would recommend him 100%.

Taken Summer B of 2021. Absolutely amazing professor. Reasonable amount of homework, quizzes, and exams. Fun to learn about as well! Amazing communication as well on his end. Do your part and you will for sure get an A. He is willing to work with students! Don't be afraid to reach out. Take this class, you won't regret it! So sweet and caring.

Professor Tranquilino's History of the Beatles class is really awesome. The course load is manageable; the assessments are easy, and the material is really fun and interesting. The only problem is that the class forces you to fork over 75 dollars to take the quizzes on his website, which was kind of pointless. Still good, though

Extremely easy class. If you want an easy A and 3 credits, this is it!

Easy Course. Every two weeks to a month, we had a discussion, a music identifying quiz, and a 50 question test due. There is a required purchase for this class ($60 textbook). But for the easy A, it's worth taking the class and paying the $60.

Ridiculously easy class. There's only like 2 hours max of homework every few weeks. There's 5 modules and each module is just a listening quiz, a discussion and a test. Only 3 tests. The test and listening quiz don't use any online proctoring so they're basically open book. The discussions are 100-200 words each plus replies that are 75-150.

Super easy class. If you buy the textbook you're basically guaranteed an "A" it feels (since he's the one who wrote the book). Class could be completed in two weeks if you really wanted to. Assignments were simple and straight to the point and I would 100% take a class with him again.

Great class! Professor responds right away to emails and is helpful. I loved spending a semester with the Beatles! Fully online class with 4 tests, and written discussions. I would take another class like this.

He's an easy grader and there isn't a lot of assignments. Homework is spread out with 2 weeks to do everything. You have to buy the book which is from $60-75 to be able to do the class. Assignments include listening quizzes, discussions, quizzes, and tests. He allows late work for reduced points for each day it's late.

Easy class. Professor is helpful and quick at responding to any questions you may have. Even if you get the textbook elsewhere, he forces his 75$ textbook onto students in order to take two essay questions on his site rather than canvas. Had I known this, I would have not taken the course.

Dr. Tranquilino is awesome. Had him for History of the Beatles. 4 short discussions, 4 tests, 2 short listening exams. Easy work and a fun class, which can be extremely rare in college. Bless Dr. Tranquilino.

If you want an enjoyable elective take this class with prof. Tranquilino. My dad is a Beatles fan and my now I know why. Professor responds to emails quickly and was very understanding with my questions. Some students whined about having a required textbook but pay close to ten dollars for coffee throughout the week! I would recommend this class!

I loved this class! Took as an elective and was such an easy class. Simple listening quizzes, and four easy discussions. Do have to buy the textbook which is mandatory to take the quizzes and the discussion questions are in there too but it is such a good and easy class so it balances out. Very nice grader. Would take it again.

Took this class an elective and honestly such an easy class! Lots of students recommended him at FIU and I can see why. The assignments/quizzes were due every other week and it's usually one discussion and 2 quizzes. SUPER EASY! Found some great songs and insight on rock history to this professor. He's very flexible if you turn something in late.

This class is really easy and good as an elective. It doesn't require much reading or writing.
