AWESOME teacher, never boring, his tests are very good and fairly easy. Doesn't hand out tons of paperwork like most teachers; keeps things easy to understand and FUN! I loved his class. Arluke is Northeastern's best SOC teacher!

I loved taking his class. He makes the material clear and interesting. It's nic eot have a professor who is teaching from the real life expereince he has had and not just a text book. Very friendly and engaging.

This class was awesome and I am not even a soc major. He made a class of 200 kids come in almost everday, where usually a teacher would only get about half. Has amazing experiences to share!

If you get the chance to take one of his courses do so, you wont regret it. He's done some great studies and all of his lectures are based on these studies. I've never seen a class of 150 kids almost full every class. Tests are very fair also

A total Clooney Clone(an older man you wouldn't mind doing) and his class and passion for Sociology just make him hotter! Also the class and his experiences with Soc are amazing. TAKE HIM!!

Arluke is a great professor! He is excited about teaching what he knows about sociology and he has great experiences to share. His lectures are interesting, not boring and his exams are very fair. I am deffinitely going to look for another course to take with him!

Great teacher. has amazing experiences to share which makes the class very interesting. Class is almost always full. Mostly multiple choice questions, so tests are very fair. Absolutely love it.

Arluke is the man. He loves to talk about all of his studies and what not. He gives 4 quizzes, no midterms or finals. He also gives extra credit. I recommend taking this class.

I loved this class...very interesting studies! Good lectures, quizzes are not THAT hard, but u have to study the book and look over the lecture notes! Go to class everyday or else you will miss something that will be on a test! NO FINAL or midterm, just four quizzes!

Easy Tests. His lectures are really intersting. Its just fun going to his class. If you're looking for an easy elective take his Intro to Soc class.

One hell of a great teacher! Make sure not to miss his lectures, they're really interesting, and talk to him after class - the guy certainly has a lot of good**** to say.

This man is amazing. You do great on all of his tests because you actually LEARN things in class! Most interesting course ever...all slideshows and stories of his many experiences. I might even do a dual major because of this professor!

Very very interesting class. Very enthuastic teacher. Taught by telling stories about things he has actually done and studied himself. Really fun class. One of the best professors I've ever had here.

I think anyone who goes to NU and doesn't take an Arluke class is missing out. Intro was the most memorable class I've taken at this University, and the reason I have a SOC minor. Great class, great man.

One of the best in his field. Class is very interesting and he is very knowledgable. I would recommend him. Be sure to read the text and take class notes...other than that enjoy it

The best class I have taken. Has great stories, good personality, understands what it's like to be the student. No real final or mid-term, just 4 quizzes for the whole semester(not cumulative which makes it easy). You do need to go to class but you will enjoy going. Gives a study guide before quiz which means you don't really have to read the book

Absolutely incredible class! I recommend it to anyone even remotely interested in Sociology! He presents the (usually dry) fundamentals of Sociology in a very un-dry way with his experiences in research and consulting jobs. I cannot think of a single class where I didn't laugh and/or become very intrigued. Great class!!

This man is the most AMAZING professor.You need to go to every class and read the book because half of the exam is his lectures, half from the book, but you will want to go to this class. He is so funny, and teaches you sociology is an entertaining way. There is a studyguide before tests, so he's clear on what you need to learn. He's AWESOME!

Arnie is an awesome teacher, but i think i would like him much more in nonintro class. I would rather have him in a 20 person discussion based class than a 150 person lecture. overall though, great teacher, go to class and youll do well on the tests, he tells you exactly whats on them so you dont really need to even read the book.

Best professor, best class. Lectures are interesting and Arluke makes them fun. Tests are easy as long as you go to lecture and use the study guide he gives you, but missing class a few times won't kill you. Easy A.

Arnie Arluke is by far the best teacher at Northeastern. Althought I have only had the pleasure of his teachings for one class freshman year, and now I am a senior, it was enough for me to come back here and say exactly how much of an impact he had on me. Keep up the good work professor.

Hands down, best class I've taken so far and best professor I've had. Classes are fun, lectors are interesting, and he's hilarious to boot. My only complaint is that he doesn't teach more classes. I would take them in a heartbeat!

ARLUKE is the BEST! i changed my major to sociology after taking his class and I am so glad I did..he is SUPER funny, always interesting lectures, and is always there if you need to ask questions. He loves teaching you can tell, and hes one of the best in his field by far. Great professor, take his class!! pretty easy class as well!

i LOVED professor arluke's class. his lectures were always interesting, although they often had little connection with the chapters assigned in the book. he gives helpful review sheets before each of the 4 exams, and as long as you know what's on that and you've read the chapter you will do well in this class. i HIGHLY recommend this class

Arluke is awesome, and so is his class. Fascinating- where else can you hear lectures about weird cults and Amsterdam and mole people? Hands down the best class I took all year. Not too hard either. I didn't even mind waking up for it and I was surprised at how much I miss it!

Professor Arluke is a terrific teacher. His lectures are really enjoyable and I found myself not even taking notes because I was so interested in what he said that I forgot I was in class. Definitely take his class. He is also very willing to help students out.

This is the only class I never wanted to skip and if I missed a class because I was sick I would be very upset. He is the most interesting and funny teacher here at this school. He talks about all his experiences and just makes class a lot of fun! He is the reason why I'm not minoring in Sociology

Best professor I've had in college so far, definitely the best class I've taken. If you're taking intro to soc, TAKE IT WITH ARLUKE... otherwise you're missing out. Go to lecture because half of the exam material is based on lecture, but also because he is quite possibly the coolest person to ever walk the planet.

Arluke is an amazing professor - got me interested in the field. Finally a professor who can teach through his own experiences instead of regurgitating the textbook on a powerpoint. Classes are always extremely interesting and he's a really great and approachable guy. Highly recommended!

AMAZING. AMAZING. AMAZING. If you can get a class with Arluke, TAKE IT. He is hilarious, interactive, entertaining, and for a morning class he really keeps the class awake and interested. Has real-world experience stories for every lecture, which helps you remember things, and never expects too much from the students other than to try their best.

Arluke is the bomb. No matter what, he's always smiling and despite the size of the class he does his best to learn the names of all the people who speak up. There's only four quizzes and he gives you plenty of extra credit.

Fantastic teacher! Quizzes aren't too hard and the lectures are really interesting. Attendance isn't mandatory but you end up going just because you want to. Definitely recommend taking Intro to Soc even if it isn't your major!

Arnie Arluke is by far one of the all time greats when it comes to story telling and it's near impossible for you to fail his quizzes. If a certain % of the class gets a question wrong, he automatically gives everyone the points! He's a very understanding teacher and you're missing out if you don't take his Intro to Sociology class!

Arnie Arluke is a very fascinating storyteller. His own personal experiences make you want to go to class. Quiz materials can be vague but if you read the book and go to class, you can get an easy A, plus he gives a lot of extra credit. If you take SOC101, it has to be with Arluke.

This man is absolutely amazing! He makes you want to go to class every day and potentially become a sociologist. If theres any possible way for you to take the class, TAKE IT!

Arnie is full of life and is a great public speaker. Seems more like a friend than a professor. Very interesting lectures. Grade consists of 4 quizzes, no final. Quizzes are 40 MC (20 on the lectures and 20 on the book). Attendance isn't mandatory, but you will have trouble on quizzes if you don't go. Most Get A's and B's. TAKE! HE'S SO NICE!!

ARNIE! This was probably my favorite class so far. 4 MC exams and 2 extra credit opportunities. His lectures are so interesting. Exams are based on lecture and textbook. Probably one of the nicest professors ever. I didn't believe the hype about how great this class was but after taking Arnie's, I'm a believer.

There were only 4 quizzes, and he gave out a sheet with all the terms that would be covered a week before each quiz. If you pay attention, which is easy, and do the small amt of reading he assigns, its an easy A!

Arnie Arluke is the most adorable man on the planet. He's definitely been my favorite professor so far. His classes are really interesting and he's a genuinely great guy. He really cares about his students and wants them to do well. His class is great and he's a complete sweetheart. Take this class, everyone loves it.

Arluke has made my mornings much brighter with his sincere and lighthearted stories of his adventures during sociological research. His real life examples make understanding terms easier and make coming to class feeling more like listening to a friend share a funny story.

Don't take the edge seats in the classroom or you won't be able to read what's on the blackboard. His handwriting is really messy; he really should just type everything up and project it on the screen. It's ok-legible if you sit in the center though. It's cool that your grade is entirely made up of 4 tests, but then WATCH OUT on how you do on each.

TAKE THIS CLASS. Seriously. Extremely interesting and entertaining material with a fascinating professor to present it. Each lecture is about a study that he personally has done, so they're filled with funny anecdotes. The tests are not hard as long as you spend an hour or so with the study guides. Overall, it's a fantastic class.

Honestly best class I took on campus. Arluke is an extremely interesting person, and relates material to personal experience. This class brightened my mornings, even Monday mornings :) I would take it again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Professor Arluke.

Awesome dude. I took his class a semester ago, and it just occurred to me that I have to give Arnie his due props. His "classes" are basically "story time with Arnie", where he tells you wild, fascinating tales that end up teaching a sociological concept too. Totally fun, easy, stress-free class.

Arnie is incredible, I took his class at 9:15 am and always looked forward to it. The stories he tells in class are fascinating and tie into the material incredibly well. I took his class two full years ago and decided just now I needed to write this review. Thats how awesome the class is. Take it!!
