Professor Wood is wonderful and passionate about his students and teaching. I found the class challenging, but also was one that didn't care much for speech. I took Prof. Wood's online speech class. There is quite a lot of work involved, but his directions are detailed and easy to follow. You can easily get ahead in this class! He tries to help you improve on each speech for the next one.

I took his CD-based course, and he is really helpful. I do believe his daughter answers his e-mails though. He gives input on papers. I had A.P. Lit in highschool so I didn't want to endure the physical class. The syllabus was very involved and detailed. I am taking Intro to Film with him and he is one of the most laid back easy going teachers I know. He is fair and gives anyone a chance to make an A. If you try at all you will get a good grade in this class.

Absolutely the best english teacher I have ever had! I took the 16 week online English I class and all we had to do was turn an essay about every 3 weeks,then we had a mid term and a final. That was it! I made an A on almost every essay, and he always let me know what I can improve on. It was great to have an objective English professor!

GREAT teacher! Grading is fair. Took him online. There is 2test, 4spc, 4essays but its so spread out its not overwhelming. He's clear on what he expects, so no worries. TAKE HIM!!! Oh, test are hard tho, but if you do good on everything else you have nothing to worry about. u do use the book a lot too. EASY Class. Maybe 3hrs a week of work.

Professor Wood was the best. I wish I had taken him for ENC1101. He is crystal clear when it comes to how he expects you to write your papers. Attendance isn't mandatory but out of respect, its good to come. He turns a 3 hour class into a 30 minute class. What more can you ask for? Whoever didn't get an A in this class is plain lazy.

Easy class to take as long as you do the requested work and do the speeches with power point. We worked at our own pace and once all your speeches were done, you didn't have to attend class! He gave helpful tips on improving public speaking and making students more confident speakers.

Easy A, no tests or exams! Just 5 speeches, he is an easy grader and allows redoes for your speeches if you are not satisfied, even with a B! He is helpful and gives tips on how to speak well. Really recommend.

I took this professor for SPC 2608 and he was AMAZING! If you are a shy person and are scared to talk in front of people this is the class to take. If you take time to practice your speech before you speak you will get an A. He is also very funny and he cares about his students! Take him!

You still have to record 4 speeches but the last one with an audience but mine was family so it made it easier than complete strangers. Professor Wood has the class contents setup clear and precise. In my case, it was a matter of just doing the work to get an A. He accepts late work. Answer emails quickly. You must have 5 ppl in your audience( FSCJ policy). Discussion board(9) and 4 speeches (4min +). Just practice for your speech and you get max point on it easy.

Plenty of time was given to make all the grade that you deserve. You get back what you put in. He is quick to grade your work and give you the direction you need for the next task. I would gladly take this class again and recommend it to anyone. JL

Great professor I recommend taking his classes

This Professor is awesome! You have 4 speeches total and youre required to do all four! He is a fast grader. He responds quickly to your emails. You definitely need to take this Professor. Do everything he ask you to do and you should have no problem with making an. A (ab)33

Professor Wood is an awesome professor and I am definitely glad I took his online public speaking class. I took the 8 week course and there was a total of 4 speeches and 9 discussions. I was excited to find an online speech class, which sounds like an oxymoron. There are 3 required speeches, regular discussion boards, a few smaller research type assignments, textbook is needed, but is cheap! Professor Wood really works with you if you have something come up and need to turn it in late, plus he grades quickly with feedback! NJ10

Professor Wood really has a way of teaching. He is very flexible and wants you to pass the class as long as you put in effort. Professor Wood has helped me in realizing the need for an education and has made it fun to learn and easy to speak in public. Great Professor, I took his class online and when I email or message the professor he always message back with great advice on how to correct something and give second chance to approve our grades. I have a huge fear of public speaking so I decided to take this class online. Best decision ever! Professor Wood is great, always has quick responses and offers a helping hand if you need it. You do need to find 5 people to watch your speeches (Three total) which was tough but other than that this class was definitely one of my favorites.
