This guy is the professor's professor where J.C.'s are concerned. He presents a university-level curriculum for J.C. tuition...and, he's always available, and willing, to help you out if you need it. Two HUGE thumbs up, here !!!

I also took Arnold Kondo for bio 105 & bio 200. He is an excellent, the best I have ever had. He fought so hard to get extra labs to get in more students despite budget cutbacks, he will spend his personal time helping you to understand the material.

Although Arnold is not my teacher, I have approached him many times in the Bio Lab and he's been nothing but helpful in every way. He's more than happy to help when he can and if he can't help (which rarely happens), he'll find someone who will help you.

There are no words to rate Arnold. If there was a word to 'splain Arnold, God knows what it would be. I've never known a teacher more available and more willing than Arnold. Arnold should get another tenure not. Miles should be Mr. Toilet paper re-filler.

I took Arnold for Bio 105 last spring. He treats you like an equal, not just another annoying student. I'm taking him again for 200 & 201 and recommend him to anyone needing Bio.

Arnold Kondo is a very funny teacher. For me, his exams were hard but if u study it won't be hard at all. I highly recommed him for biology. He is a very helpful teacher. If u don't understand, just ask him and he will help you.

The material covered in BIO 105 is harder than the average class at Citrus and Kondo teaches in a clear manner. I'd have no reservations about recommending him to anyone.

The best Prof at Citru. This guys door is always open and if you have half a brain you will get an A in his Class. I tried Hester and found that her style was near unintelligible so dropped and took Kondo in Fall 2004 and got an A in the Class. He hands out notes and lets you know what to look out for by highlighting difficult topics in class. If u take an interest he will help u out in any way ethically possible. The best professpr I have ever had. He is very helpful and very caring about the students. He Even wrote an awesome Letter of Recom. for me to APU. He helped me to earn an A in his physio class, even though I had a B in anatomy, and even a C in his BIO class. He is an awesome professor.

Arnold is a very nice person and talks about his wife A LOT! He does his best to help you out with whatever you need. However, His notes were gone through very quickly, and I found his tests to be more difficult than other biology teachers. He talks really fast, but is willing to repeat anything that you may have missed. He is a really approachable teacher, and you feel comfortable talking to him. I recommend him.

Im a graduate student and looking back at all the professors i had, Arnold is by far the best. I feared taking anatomy, but Arnold made it so much fun to go to class. I suggest starting study groups it really helps and Arnold likes to see students putting an effort into learning his material and he often comes to quiz you if needed.

Alright Kondo is probably one of the better Bio teachers. He is very good at what he does. He lectures well but he tests hard. He will tell you everythign that will be on the test beforehand so its not unfair jsut that you can't half arse his class and expect to get off with a good score. NoO use of the book everythign is in hsi lectures.

This class couldn't be harder just involving the text, but Arnold willingly helps all of his students get through the tough stuff! Yes, you have to work for your grade, but Kondo really works with you. He does a good job making the topics interesting and learner friendly!! In the end I love the work ethic I retained from this class!! Thanks Kondo!!

Phys. is a tough and demanding class that requires a lot of studying. But Kondo makes it a bit easier by being very helpful to all of the students. He is very nice and I recommend him!

You really don't need to buy a book. The packets he distributes in class are all you really need for his class. Awesome instructor! For the student who want to learn, this is a great class. had him for a whole year. anatomy and physiology. he's by far my favorite teacher at citrus. he makes class fun and really breaks down the material for you. really nice and laid back and friendly too but that doesn't mean you can slack. study like hell and you'll ace the class.

Arnold is an awesome teacher. Super hard, though, since there is so much self-study involved. Also, if you get a couple talkers in your class, you wont learn a thing. He does not stop the talking, but goes along with it so you spend half an hour hearing about irrevelent things. YOU WILL LEARN!

Professor Kondo is a funny, kind-hearted, dedicated, and extremely helpful professor! He is definitely a model professor at Citrus! His tests are challenging, but doable! You don't need his lectures, you have everything already given to you. Word of advice is study a lot especially with study groups also meet up with Kondo to clarify something you don't understand or have him quiz you. With this you can easily get a B.

I'm a C student and got a B during 6 weeks of what seemed like boot-camp for a college course. He gave out so many extra credit points I'm kicking myself 4 getting the grade I got! HARDEST & MOST CHALLENGING CLASS EVER!

Now that I'm in nursing school, I'm so thankful for the challenging format of this class. He really did prepare me. HE is an amazing teacher! although a Hard class he is available for any questions you may have. IF you ask for helpful materials for a test he will give them to you!! ask him questions during lab, answer study guides.. and REVIEW and you should do fine! TOOK it over the summer (6wks) got an A!!

Kondo's teaching methodology may be a little different from other professors. His lecture materials are very detailed. He answers every question that you ask him. Although he puts things on a "silver platter" he will not spoon feed you. Put in the extra effort to learn and you can learn a lot from him. Go Arnold!

I just finished taking his abbreviated Anatomy course (6 week Winter intersession) and I have to give him props - there is a lot of information that he's crammed into 14 3-hour lectures and 10 labs. If you're driven, devoted,and disciplined, you can do well in his class. He's also very friendly and helpful. Good prep for Physiology!

I recommend reading each chapter 2x before the lecture and it will make things alot more clear. His tests are very hard but the final isn't bad at all. He asks hard essay questions. DO ALL THE LECTURE/LAB study guides and all the lab ?'s and you should do fine.

Arnold is by the far one of the best teachers i ever had. I say this because he probably is the one teacher that really pushes you to know the material and hes very approachable. I was always a C student but he challenged me and i ended up doing more than i thought and i ended up with a B. Its not and easy class but its doable.

He's a great prof & he teaches the class in the clearest and easiest way possible while still giving a good comprehension of the course. Kondo is AMAZING although his class is EXTREMELY hard. You will learn so much. You will need to study everyday to pass this class but it is very much worth it. He is always available and SI saves you! HIGHLY recommend him.

I recently transferred to citrus from another college and this was my first time taking a class like kondo's. Hes an amazing teacher and I never worked so hard in my life for an A. Im glad I took his class though. I think his class pushed me to rise up to a potential I never thought I could reach. His class was sooo worth it!

I had Kondo for Anatomy and honestly it was the first time I had to actually work to get an A. It was an amazing experience though. He really does care whether or not you learn the material. He is always available to review your tests and any questions you might have. If you have to take anatomy this is the teacher to take it with.

VERY GOOD Physio teacher! Loved him so much I decided to re-take anatomy with him since I didn't have him the 1st time. Expects much less than teachers I've had @ GCC, but definitely makes sure you REALLY know the most crucial material. TAKE KONDO!!!

I have taken Arnold for bio 105 and anatomy and will be taking physiology with him in the spring. He is difficult but it's because he wants his students to learn at a higher level and have higher expectations. You will work hard in his classes but if you're willing to put in the effort it WILL pay off big time!! He is fun and easy-going.

If you're taking biology merely for the pre-req, Arnold might not be the professor for you unless you have an interest in the field. By far an interesting professor who makes sure things are explained well and uses props and analogies to try to get the point across. Has his own notes and covers everything for tests, just study and you'll do fine :)

Arnold is such a great instructor. Uses stories to relate to topics. May get off topic sometimes, but SI helps esp with the leaders being his former students. Never bought textbook, powerpoints are very clear & straightforward to what he looks for on the tests. Helps prepare u for Anatomy/Phys if u plan to take him also for those classes. :)

I can't say it's necessarily 'easy', but I can say that I still retain some of what I've learned (and that really says a lot for me since I normally forget after the class is over). Human Anatomy sounds intimidating but it really isn't. Day 1 of the semester he gives you scare tactics only because he wants students who are dedicated to his class. I am currently in Kondo's summer '12 bio course and I have to say that my knowledge on Biology has improved by leaps and bounds in only 4 weeks. The course is super hard-core but it's worth it and teaches you things you didn't know about yourself. Lots of work but Kondo cuts some slack on people cause he knows bio is difficult. He's a huge help!

Easily one of the BEST professors I've had in my entire academic career. To be clear - the material is extremely difficult, but he is not. He is every straight forward and these are NOT classes to be taken lightly. He will tell if you aren't doing well so don't take offense to it. He does move quickly but delivers quality. If you want a strong foundation for the medical field & want to ensure that you pass medical exams in the future, then this is your go-to guy. He will get you ready. His exams arent easy but he will help you along the way. ASK if you are confused. you do teach yourself most of the material. study every day. this professor cares about his subject.

Kondo is the best professor at citrus. You can tell the passion he has for what he is teaching. The only reason I rated his class as "easy" is because he gives you all of the information/tools needed to get an A in the class, BUT you also need to keep up your end of the bargain and take the time to study the material. (Tip: KNOW YOUR PATHWAYS!;)

The hardest class by far. 4 units class felt like i was taking a 12 unit class. Instructor very straight forward and helpful. Great instructor but must have time to study. No homework just a lot of memorizing. Very knowledgeable and tell you actually what he wants u to know.

If you think Kondo is hard, I think this field isn't for you. He gives you TOOLS to help you succeed, but he will not hold your hand the whole way through. We are in college, it's important to self study and not only rely on the teacher to get an A in the class.

I took Arnold for both Anatomy an Physiology... I must say when I first walked in to Anatomy I was super intimidated by the class. Arnold is very knowledgable and passionate about his work. He loves teaching and being there for his students. absolutely loved both of his classes. You have to earn your grade in his class nothing is just given to you but he is considerate of his students. love him def take his class for general bio. if you need anatomy or phys, he will be your professor. Very Smart teacher who knows his subjects by heart specially Physio. He is very helpful, non-intimidating person who cares about his students and will do anything to help them. It is a very tough class but anything that he teaches you will stay with you forever. TIPS: Record his lectures (he speaks very fast) and memorize his Pathways.

Arnold is a great Proffesor, now this isn't you're average easy A or B course, you work for your grade. If you're trully interested in the medical field he prepares you for it. The key to passing this class is studying and reviewing. He makes it clear on what you should review and study. It's there for the taking, but how bad do you want it.

Take Arnold for Bio 200&201 he really cares about his students and wants them to do well. He class is a lot of work but you can get an A if you do the work.

AMAZING professor. No textbook needed, will use PowerPoint. I recorded his lectures, listened to them while cleaning, cooking, going to sleep, and driving because it became my life. TOUGH class but MUST study and he makes it easy. Absolutely loved him. Memorize and study hard. Join quizlets for help. Take advantage of extra credits offered.

I wish he had more classes to teach! This is the best professor I've ever had and he makes your abilities to study and learn so much better. Whoever gives up on him and his classes don't have to guts to even be entering the medical field. He supports you but only if you at least try. Redraw the pathways, and utilize the time he's available.

I have never struggled in a class as much as his Anatomy class. But with that being said, it has NOTHING to do with him as a teacher. He wants his students to succeed which is why he tells you up front that he makes it a tough class in order for you to succeed in future endeavors. Expect to eat, sleep, and dream anatomy for 16 weeks!

Toughest class I've taken. Kondo does his best to prep you for the workload for Nursing school. There's a ton of material to memorize, but he basically tells you what is going to be on the tests. It's up to you how much you want to pass. Arnold doesn't hold your hand, but if you approach him he'll do whatever is in his power to help you succeed.

Couldn't have asked for better teacher. He was recommended to me by chance of a fellow nursing friend- saved my science career so far. He will admit right off the bat he is one of the toughest and most challenging professors in the department, but the quality of his lectures and care is immeasurable. Taking everything he teaches from here on out.

Great professor; he's passionate & has a good sense of humor. He's always willing to help, you just have to ask. But his class was by far the hardest one I've taken in college so far. He gives you all the tools to succeed in his class but prepare to spend a LOT of time self-teaching at home, as he tends to get way off topic during lectures.

This class was hard. You cannot expect to have a life in Anatomy, much less in a 6 week time period. He does not trick you. The information is all there. Your grade will depend on how bad you want it. You have to memorize a lot. First half seemed hard but it got better as time progressed. Kondo is very thorough with what he will give on exams.

He's the best teacher I've ever had in Citrus! The class itself is SUPER tough, but you'll get through it with Kondo's help and guidance! He's approachable and open-minded!! I learned so much from his class! If you're having difficulties don't be shy to ask questions!

best teacher I have ever taken throughout my school career. If he tells you to write something down, WRITE IT DOWN, if he tells you to "know this" make sure you know it. He gives you everything you need to know and all the tools you need to succeed. BUT you definitely NEED to STUDY A LOT! He cares if you care, he doesn't want anyone to fail.

I got an A in the class,took it during winter 2016, toughest class I've ever taken but best teacher . Instead of taking notes PRINT OUT all his powerpoint that he posts on blackboard, add any additional notes during lecture, if you have him for lab PRINT OUT all the labs, use the study guides, study those everyday, theres no way you won't pass!

He does not lie!!! he tells you exactly what will be on the test. He is always there to help as long as you do your part and study. Don't slack and work hard and it will be very rewarding in the end. Don't take the class just for fun. It's not easy but If you plan on going into the medical field he will make sure you are very well prepared.

Best Professor ever!

Arnold is one of the toughest and most compassionate professors at Citrus. I took his Anatomy and Physio courses. Tips: everything he puts on the white board is VITAL; he is unfailingly honest about the content of exams so take him at his word; do ALL extra credit; don't take other hard courses simultaneously, or, as he would say, "You will die."

Definitely one of the best professors on campus. Tells you what you need to know and his powerpoints help to reinforce that. Exams are written and graded reasonably, but the difficulty stems from the volume of content he gives. DON'T take lab days for granted, the lab portion is meant to help you boost your grade. Don't be afraid to ask for help!!!

All I have to say is.. Take this class if you're a pre-allied health major.

Professor Kondo is by far one of the best professors I've ever had. If you need these classes for future requirements (nursing, grad school, etc.), take him. He truly prepares you for your academic future. Professor Kondo's courses are tough, but do your part. Don't be afraid to ask him or his tutors for help!

If I was good at science, I would've loved this class way more. Overall, Kondo is extremely helpful and has such a good personality. I completely sucked in Bio, & I passed by asking questions & going to tutoring. I would even visit Kondo right before a test, & he was always willing to help me out.

Arnold is truly passionate about teaching. He has been at Citrus for 20+ years! Has taught over 1000s of students (he always over-maxes his classes, so that everyone can get a chance). It is a tough class, but what anat & phys class isn't? You will have to work for your grade. But Arnold is always their to support you. Don't be scared!

Arnold is the best professor I've ever had. He makes sure his students are well prepared and he works with struggling students to. Als sure they pass with a good grade. He really makes A and P a great experience I request him to anyone in healthcare or biology. I would take him again

Arnold is such a wonderful professor. By far the best science professor at citrus.. he really cares about his students and does everything possible for you to get an a in the class. If you end up with a C it's because you earned it.

Kondo is one of the best professors I've ever had at Citrus. He's hilarious, and genuinely wants his students to do well. If you make an effort and study hard and go over his lecture notes over and over, you'll succeed in his class! I'd take any class he offered.

I am so thankful that Kondo gave me a second chance to retake anatomy after my horrible winter session experience. You definitely need to study for this class but memorization is KEY! Kondo is a great teacher and is available all the time. Always does Q & A which has helped me. I have enjoyed this class and am excited about fall semester physio.

Winter sem is intense, 4 months crammed into 1 basically. Study his PowerPoints, attend all his lectures, take notes and study like your life is counting on it. Often he offers extra credit:) He will give you all the tools you need to pass with an A. No book required, he post everything for you to print on Canvas. Commit to studying & ull get A

Kondo is the real deal, difficult class however he prepares his students extremely well. Not the best to listen to during lecture because it gets kind of boring, but asks students to know a great deal of information. So much information that it kind of sticks with you and you never forget it.

Professor Kondo is honestly the best biology teacher at Citrus College. He is caring and patient and he helps his students succeed. Honestly taking any other teacher is a waste of time because you will not learn as in depth as you will with Kondo. He explain in a way anyone will understand. He will make you love science with all of his analogies.

If you dont get the grade you want its because of you not because of him. He will help with verbally quizzing you and giving you whatever you need to succeed in his class. Any short/accelerated course is though. Four months crammed into one. It's definitely doable specially when you got a great instructor. Kondo cares about his students and gives all the tools for you to succeed. You need to do your part. Pay attention to his lectures, he gives opportunities for you to improve your grades.

One of the best teachers I have. His lectures are fun to attend, but you have to be aware of amount of materials that need to be memorize for tests. Pay attention to the extra credit, hints, and graphs that he'll talk along on the white board. Essay questions on the exams are mostly based on special topics, so read the parts til you understand.

Arnold is the BEST! Some say his class is hard, but he tells you EVERYTHING you need to know for his tests. If you ignore his hints, then thats on you. Your grades depends on all the studying you do. If you want an A, then get ready to STUDY. Have him quiz before exams to see how prepared you are & record it. Those Qs might appear on the tests.

Wonderful professor! So knowledgeable, totally upfront with you. It's a tough class with a lot of memorizing. Took it during the 6 week Winter session and its A LOT but it can be done and done well, if you work for it. He gives you everything you need to be successful. Arnold Kondo is the BEST professor I've ever had. I spent the first 5 weeks of his class debating whether or not to drop because I felt so lost. It was the hardest class I have ever taken ( even harder than nursing school ) BUT having said all that, my favorite class of all time. Awesome, supportive and willing to help. Trust his system.

Like everyone else says Kondo is an amazing professor and his anatomy course is difficult. That being said he truly wants every one of his students to succeed. It's very important to network in this class, study the pathways, and embrace the challenge.

If you didnt have him for biology or anatomy this class might come across as intimidating but he gives you all the material you need to succeed. Attend class and put in maximum effort and youll pass.

He tells the truth. Very straightforward so listen to what he says. He does everything possible to make sure you succeed but you have to give it a good honest effort. I have never met a professor that cared this much. He really prepares you for the medial profession.

Arnold truly cares about his students. His tests are hard but he wants to prepare you for nursing school. He is a little unorganized in an online format. With online classes, email is the only form of communication and he doesn't always respond to answer questions.

Arnold really enjoys teaching and knows his material. He has a sense of humor, is authentic with an occasional choice word, and he wants the students to succeed. He even wrote me a recommendation letter for the nursing school I applied to. Take his class, youll be glad you did!

BEST ADVICE IS MAKE A QUIZLET FROM THE STUDY QUESTIONS OR GUIDES. Memorizing is the best way to pass this class as theres lots of questions from the guides and such. I took this during COVID and he curves a lot towards the end (I got an A despite getting 63, 65, 85 on my tests for the lectures which were the hardest, but aim for 100s on lab tests)

Kondo is tough but youll be better off for it. You get what you put in and you gotta put in a lot to get a good grade. He gives you all the material you need to get the grade you want.

As someone who had already taken an Anatomy course at another CC I can honestly say this class is 100% worth taking. Yes this class is hard, yes you should expect to study for hours after lecture, the level of rigor will prepare you for graduate level programs in the future. Kondo is a fair grader, offers extra credit, and is engaging. WORTH IT!

Its not easy, nothing in life is easy. He is straightforward. You just have to put so much time & effort into understanding the material. I low key listened to his live meetings at work because SO MUCH GOOD INFO! Didnt get the A like I wished but I feel like I learned so much. An incredibly difficult class where you learn a ton. This professor actually got me to change my major from digital and web design to biology. One of my favorite proffers.

Arnold is a great professor to take for pre-req science courses if you are going into the medical field. He cares about his students and wants you to succeed. It is a hard class but so is any medical school. You need to put in the time studying if you want an A. He gives you the right material to study for the exam, they are harder though.

This is the hardest class Ive ever taken in my whole life. I was working 50 hours a week and after that, I spent all my time studying for this class. The key is to study really hard. You have to know your pathways, word by word. His tests are very tricky, and he changes some words you might not notice if you did not study hard enough.

Lecture exam 2 was definitely the "hardest" exam. Once you get to the cardiovascular system, know that one very well. It was the only exam I got an A- . Other than that, for lecture only study the words he says, things he briefly mentions, and whatever is on the study guide questions. I never downloaded the PowerPoints. Lab is cake, but annoying.

There's no homework. You just have to study study study until the day of the Exams. It's difficult for someone who has no sense of direction of what to exactly study so you should definitely get into Lecture class. The Exams are TRICKY, like TRICKY. Lab is easy. I got less than 80s in all of my exams but still got an A for the class.

Professor Kondo is the best I am going to miss being in his class. You won't regret taking him as a professor, everything that he goes over in lecture and lab will be on the exams so pay attention!

Professor Kondo is great, but if you want to pass you need to attend lectures at the very least the week or so before an exam because he will outline almost exactly what will be on it. You need to study relentlessly to know the material at the level of detail he requires. Def take him for anat and physio if you are pre-nursing.

Honestly at first i was really intimidated by Arnold, because of how hard his exam was. The first exam will either break you or make you better. By far he is the most caring professor. He truly wants his students to succeed. If you can take him for both anatomy and physiology. Don't be afraid to ask questions, he will answer all questions.

I took him for anatomy and phys, and his class was very challenging. I didn't attend his zoom but I watched all his pre-recorded videos with his slides. Repetition is key! I got an A despite having B's and C's on the first 3 exams! The trick is: get an A in lab, do EC assignments, and aim to do better each exam and you'll get an A! You can do it!

Lets be honest, we all want to get an "A" in any class, but are we willing for work for it? This class was heavy on testing and understandably so because of the academic honesty problem with online testing. This class does a terrific job in giving you the necessary knowledge for Allied Health professions. Arnold was very engaging and helpful.

His physiology is not easy, but you learn a lot especially you are in nursing or any medicine majors. Recommend take his anatomy as well, it links all together. He opens for any questions at any time and a lot of chance for extra credits. His focus on reading comprehension a lot which good for TEAS test.

Took him for both A&P in consecutive semesters (W22, S22), NO regrets whatsoever. I have so much admiration & respect for Arnold. It was a lil hard to pick up on how he taught at 1st (anatomy), but I adapted. Follow his tips for passing his class, STUDY & ask questions, is always happy to help for your success. Great professor, definitely took a bit to get used to. Very approachable, he will gladly answer any questions and he highly encourages asking as well. No real assignments it's all in on the exams + lab. To pass this class you NEED to memorize pathways keep on redrawing them and reading up on them, things get so much more manageable if you do!

I took Arnold's in-person physio this past spring semester. English is not my first language, so I was worried when I saw some other folks saying he speaks fast. But I was so wrong. He is a great teacher. I learned A LOT of things in his class that will benefit me later in life. You can tell he cares for all his students. He is your best choice.

Very detailed professor, you learn so much from his lecture videos, notes, slideshows and mostly he gives his free time twice a week to help you learn more in detailed the material.

I took him in Spring 2023. He was very charismatic and understanding. He is very helpful and will work through any questions or concerns with you as long as you show that you care about his class. My only complaint was that his Canvas was a bit disorganized.

Gives xtra credit! Read his notes & come up w/ ur own questions. He understands life happens & u just need to communicate w/ him. Memorize everything because everything is on his exams. Zoom meetings will help a ton! He provides insight on exam questions & provides the answer. Let him help u. Create a group chat w/ others to help each other out.

Arnold is a challenging but engaging professor. His class is tough, but he's genuinely invested in helping students succeed. I found unstuckstudy ai and other study tools like ChatGPT really helpful for preparing. Attend class, ask questions, and you'll learn a ton.

Professor is super helpful and the videos for his online class are very easy to understand. Class is very test heavy so make sure you study well. Arnold is really cool and his policies for his test are super lenient compared to other anatomy profs out there. Definitely would take him as a professor again. Genuinely cares about you passing.

This class was challenging but hard work is rewarding. Exams were simple when it came to what he asked for with pathways, hardest part was the multiple choice questions. Flashcards helped when it came to multiple choice. He wants you to succeed! Listen to his advice and ask for help and participate in class!

Profs usually get low ratings if their class is hard, but Arnold is one of the few profs that can have a challenging class and still be appreciated by students. His class will force you to develop time management skills, youre not gonna get by studying the night before. down to earth, offers lots of guidance, good sense of humor, very understanding

This is not an easy class but if you make the time to study you can pass. Labs are easier but lecture test are hard. I recommend watching his videos over and over. Learn his pathways. He is awesome ! Pay attention to what he says!!! I cannot stress that more ( I recorded lectures) lab is easy, look at the fox extra papers he fills out on canvas. His stories relate to the material . He really cares so try your hardest and it will benefit you in the end .
