Amazing professor who really cares about his students. He is not too hard and if you ask for help he will ensure you do well in any way he can. Some reading, but class is not boring.
Excellent professor. If you listen and go to class you don't need to read heavily. Talk to him after class and you will do great in the class.
Excited to teach his students. Attendance checks everyday. Take good notes and skim the book and you will be fine on the tests. Participate in class and you will get 5 points added to your final grade. Best professor to take for this class.
He's brilliant & interesting. Classes are interactive, and everyone enjoys going to them. Practical knowledge. Tests are easy if you read chpt summaries & participate in class. Bonus for participation.
The man. The myth. The Legend. Simply the best teacher there is at Georgia Tech. I would take this guy 100 times outta 100 no matter what the topic is. He's engaging, smart, enjoyable, and he really cares about students.
Rubinoff keeps class fairly interesting and makes a lot of funny illustrations. However, he is pretty cut throat when it comes to final grades. The exams are also tricky and some of the questions are poorly worded. It is difficult to get a good grade on them. Nothing is curved. Also, class participation is essential, and each point is hard fought.
Prof Rubinoff was really chill... during class that is. The class was interesting and attendance important. You also get bonus for participation (which can be hard with 75+ kids in one class, but it is somewhat doable). However he does not make any exceptions when it comes to final grades, and his tests are a bit hard, but a good class.
I thought Rubinoff was alright. A lot of people say he is the best at Georgia Tech but there are a lot of teachers like him. He is a very intelligent lecturer, but he goes over the material too fast. He also doesn't use any sort of PowerPoint so it is difficult to know what concepts are going to be covered on the test.
He's passionate about what he teaches. Really made me interested in what he had to say.
Go to class. Sign the attendance sheet. Leave. Read the book. He goes over all the relevant material you'll need to know the class before the exam. This is the only time you'll need to take notes. And bring in articles if you need to solidify that A.
Genuinely seems like he does not care about his students. Have a death in the family and need an excused absence? "see the syllabus. I do not accept excuses". Claims that his lectures pertain to the exams. They dont. Read the book cause his "teaching" is useless. You know the kind of teacher he is when attendance is mandatory...
Professor Rubinoff is one of Georgia Tech's best! Great lectures and he wants students to be successful. Show up prepared for class and you'll have no problems.
If you like speaking in class and do it a lot you can get 6% added to your grade. The tests and fairly easy as long as you read the questions now. Sometimes the lectures can be boring but the subject doesn't help that.
Took Legal over the summer with Rubinoff & loved him & the course. He teaches mainly just by him talking through concepts (he gives good examples and thorough explanations) and you taking notes by hand (no electronics); he doesn't really use or rely on lecture slides/premade notes. 4 MC exams were very fair. Extra credit for participation is nice!
His lectures are very interesting but it's hard to study for his tests because he provides only a list of topics and he expects you to be able to have the information based off his oral lectures or the textbook with no other supplementary materials. He offers a lot of extra credit though but it can be hard to get them.
Rubinoff has just started making powerpoint slides for test review, in addition to the simple word doc lists of topics that he uses in class to cover content. It's clear he wants his students to succeed and is still trying to make the class better and provide more resources, on top of being a very solid lecturer and a good professor overall.
Pretty straightforward class and easy to get an A in. If you do the readings and come to class prepared you can get a lot of participation points which can add up to 6 points on your final average. Also, he wants to get to know you to help you with future jobs and write you recs because he's very well connected.
It was pretty easy
Really good lectures. Provides lecture notes that are heavily based on exams. Easy to talk to and accessible out of class, even on weekends
I didn't like this professor at first but he is really great. He teaches by lecture and your grade depends solely on your tests but he teaches well enough and challenges you fairly to where you can definitely do well in this class. The class is interesting, but you do need to work for your grade.
Really cool guy and a really interesting class
Professor Rubinoff was an incredible professor. He makes his lectures straight forward and easy to understand in regards to the material. Tests also involve concepts-based that he stresses during his lectures so through listening and somewhat memorization will help you with that. Office hours are very intuitive and will talk about anything.
Be sure to participate even if you think you don't need the extra credit.
He is a great lecturer. I'm an international student majoring in Mechanical Engineering with no law or business background, but I learn so many useful materials from the class. I would recommend him anytime
Rubinoff is the most effective lecturer I have ever had the pleasure of learning under in my entire academic career. He also provides the opportunity to increase your final grade by as much as 6 points if you participate in class regularly through his Buzz Buck system.
nice class and interesting topics for 2106.
Good teacher who likes to have his students engaging in his class. You can boost your final grade by 5 whole points just by participating enough.
One of the best professors i've had here at Tech! He's a great lecture and very entertaining. I took him for short summer and even though the classes were 2 1/2 hours long, I was able to stay fully engaged the entire class period. He's also very fair with grading and wants his students to excel. Highly recommended!
Professor Rubinoff is one of the best professors I've had since I came to Tech. He definitely knows what he's talking about, and he has a lot of personal experiences that help you learn more than the book. I took him for the Summer course and the class was fully based on exams. If you come to class and listen well, you'll do fine in MGT 2106.
Very good lectures; took the class over the summer and in a long, two and a half hour section 3x a week, I was never bored in class. Gives ample opportunities for extra credit and is always willing to talk to students and shows a lot of genuine interest in the topics he teaches and his students. Definitely planning on taking his courses again.
Professor Rubinoff cares greatly about your success in the class and is a great resource both inside and outside the classroom. His genuine passion about the subject is admirable and makes the material more interesting and easy to read. If you care about your direction in school Professor Rubinoff is greatly beneficial in guiding you.
Very interesting and enjoyable course! Rubinoff has tons of industry experience, and is very adept at weaving them into his lectures. People interested in entrepreneurship, or law, would definitely benefit from taking his classes.
Favorite prof in the MBA program.
Fun and interesting class that can be used in the real world.
Rubinoff is by far my favorite professor at Tech. He is passionate about what he does and is always willing to go the extra mile to help his students. He additionally takes great care in selecting what material is presented in this class and ensures that everyone takes away relevant real-world advice. He is the reason this class is so great.
Great professor, understands the material and cares for his students.
Good examples
Professor Rubinoff was great.
Really interesting stories that help explain topics.
I loved the class. It is very informative and he provides a lot of examples that makes it easier to remember the concepts.
Difficult class in terms of grades
The class is interesting.
He cares so much about the material and engages the class with awesome stories and wise insight and advice.
Professor has a lot of experience and knowledge of subject matter. He is very good about simplifying concepts and applying content to real world scenarios.
Rubinoff is an expert and it shows!! I look forward to the day I can afford a great attorney like Rubinoff
Fantastic lectures with relevant stories incorporated. I thoroughly enjoyed this class and believe the material is essential for personal and professional endeavors.
Rubinoff does a wonderful job of using real-world examples to make difficult concepts much easier to understand and apply. Grades are based solely off of two exams, so it can be tough to get an A if you slip up on one exam. Overall, would recommend based on Rubinoff's obvious passion for the subject.
Very interesting class. Very story-oriented lectures that help learn.
Great professor, very engaging and kept the class interesting (which is hard to do in an evening class!)
Rubinoff is fair and really passionate about the subject matter. He makes class fun and interesting. It's so hard to get evening students to participate after an 8-10 hour workday but Rubinoff always pulls it off. This is the first class in my MBA career that really feels like I'm in an MBA class and not some advanced math course.
Great professor - amazing command of the class material
Arm Rubinoff has been ranked the MBAs favorite Professor year after year for a reason. He is kind, thoughtful and well prepared. You will struggle to find a professor more qualified to tech business law.
I thoroughly enjoyed this class: lots of useful information, plenty of opportunities to ask questions related to legal matters in daily life, no written exam unless students have scheduling conflicts that will prevent them for participating in the oral group exam.
MGT6614 was a top 5 most beneficial class in the MBA program.
Was enjoyable. 10/10 would take again if free
Very Enjoyable Class
Learning from Arn was one of the highlights of my MBA experience
One of the best classes of the MBA program - I found myself using much of the information I would learn one evening in class the next day at work. He remains one of the most effective communicators and professors in the program.
I took Rubinoff for International Business. He is very engaging and full of interesting and useful tidbits and helps make things like shipping contracts easy & fun. I highly recommend taking Professor Rubinoff for Law for Entrepreneurs or Entrepreneurship as well. He also takes the pressure off of getting a good grade so you can focus on the info!
Arn is a really good professor. Took him for my core Biz & Ethics class and then Law for Entrepreneurs. Gives a lot of practical advice, lectures are engaging, doesn't put up with students who aren't putting in an effort. I would highly recommend.
Took Arn Rubinoff for Legal Ethics & Law for Entre. He is very interested in seeing his students fully grasp the legal concept that helps them excel in their job or business. You'll learn what to look out for in any contract negotiation. How to negotiate an investor term sheet. The course was an easy A.
Great class and even greater professor! Very engaged and intriguing, with discussions on "real-world" applications and issues (not your typical lecture style). Professor genuinely cares for his students and wants their success - both inside and out of the classroom. Definitely recommend this class and any other taught by Prof. Rubinoff!
This class provides a solid framework for how real world entrepreneurship processes work. Useful takeaways like learning about funding and writing business plan. Be prepared to participate and work in a team. Tests are manageable if you read the textbook. Rubinoff provides useful real world examples and cares about the material. Good class!
I absolutely love Arnold! I took both his MGT 3660 and now his MGT 4670 entrepreneurship class. He really makes you think about things in a new way and cares about his students. Would definitely take him again. As long as you come to class & get a good group of people that you work well with for the project you should be able to get a good grade.
Go to every class. Recommend reading chapters / case studies / whatever before class to get participation credit, as you can earn several points from participation. He's a really great guy and I enjoyed his class a lot.
Arn Rubinoff is one of those "once in a lifetime" teacher. Extremely kind, smart as hell, masters his subject due to more than 40 years of experience but is still incredibly humble. Routinely compliments us on the quality of our weekly papers as well as our presentation. The lectures are very open and you could really listen to him talk all day.
I would highly recommend Arn and his class to anyone looking to learn more about the legal side of engineering and technology
Super useful class for engineers without a ton of business experience. Professor Rubinoff has a ton of experience and some great stories to back up the conversations. He focuses the class completely on the interests of the students.
This class was very effective in introducing engineers to business concepts. If you have any interest in translating technology to the marketplace, this class is invaluable. It gives a guide to the potential aspects involved in creating a business. I think it should be required for engineers with any interest in industry positions. Favorite course.
Awesome teacher with ample knowledge on what he is teaching. Not one of those teachers that reads from a text book although he could easily write his own with all the experience he has. Loved the class. Learned a lot. Great teacher.
Prof. Rubinoff is good lecturer by being interactive and adding stories to all of the concepts that need learning. I wish the grade was based off more than just 2 tests in the semester, but it is what it is. All in all, great learning experience!
Best professor you'll ever have. Really cares about students' understanding & makes it as easy as possible by providing extra resources, being available outside of class/office hours, & providing opportunities for easy points to buffer your grade AND extra credit. Easy A if you do the homework & listen to his (amazing) lectures, I didn't even read.
hes a great professor but hes very condescending. Says he wants to get to know you personally so go to his office hours, I went to drop off a handout he gave first week, when I arrived he began to insult me on being a transfer student, didnt care to know him after that. If he doesnt get enough participation in class expect a quiz.
Just take him. Hands down my favorite prof at tech. The exams rely mainly on the lectures so go to class plus he's a funny man. He cares a lot about his students and was the most accommodating prof throughout covid. Best and most interesting business class I've taken. TAKE HIM
A great lecturer and enjoyed his class. The lectures are super interesting and had many good stories from his own experiences that made the class fun. Most of the grade was 3 tests which if you take good notes during lecture are straightforward. He was super understanding during the pandemic and really wanted us to succeed. Def take him if you can!
Odds are if you don't participate you won't get an A bc participation gives you huge bonus points. Tests are 90% of your grade and are 50 MC each. Only reason he gets a 4 is because of how much of a hardliner he is-my 89.95 wasn't rounded up so be warned you're dealing with a lawyer here. Great prof though and learned a lot from him
Loved him in international business, but this class was rough. Lectures are repetitive + unorganized. Midterm was very difficult and unrelated to class. His instructions are frustrating, although he's an easy grader. Mainly group project. Start working on final project with each presentation. Participation is based on how often you talk, on a curve
Took him for entrepreneurship. It was almost entirely group projects plus two open-note exams (all short answer/essay), which were based on textbook readings and his (somewhat scatter-brained) lectures. As long as you participate in this class and put in the work you will land a "B;" you really have to "wow" him to get an "A." I would take again.
Participation is a key component (20%) of your grade in the class, and its based on a curve. He cared about the number of times you talk, instead of the quality of your comments. Ultimately, this class doesn't really test your mastery of entrepreneurship as participation and group projects (50% of grade) are all pretty arbitrary. Don't reccomend!
He is a really great professor that seems to genuinely want students to succeed. Only grades are exams and participation serves to help you. I enjoy the subject matter and how he uses anecdotes to convey the material.
He was alright. If you don't want to participate in class, do NOT take him. His lectures can get VERY boring because he just talks the whole time. Lots of the exam questions come from the textbook, but not all, so pay attention to the small things he mentions in class. Tests were open book and open note which was nice... but they were hard.
He is a really great professor. Tough grader though. He can be a little bit brash when speaking. Overall I learned a lot from taking this class. An A is obtainable with extra credit.
Pay attention in class to every single thing he says and you will pass. Do not come to class to be distracted you will miss valuable information for quizzes and exams
Might just be my favorite professor that Ive had! He keeps lectures very engaging by teaching concepts through telling stories, and there are incentives for participation, so the discussions stay active. Most importantly, he makes an effort to get to know students; I definitely see myself asking him for a recommendation letter in the future!
One of the best professors at GT I've had! Made the class very reasonable to handle even though I took it as a 6-week course. Provided clear instructions on what grading and exams would be like. Made instruction simple to follow and exciting by using real stories from his experiences as an attorney. Overall great and nice guy! Fun class too! Take!
Best Teacher so far I ever had at Georgia Tech and a Teacher that really explains everything well in class, he encourages students to participates and explains everything in detail very well. Exams would be a breeze if you took notes in class and stay on top of everything, learned so much about the course in just a few weeks!
Great professor! Lecture heavy and pay attention to the examples! Really wants to get to know you - so take the time to get to know him.
Professor Rubinoff is an excellent professor! He communicates ideas clearly and effectively. Highly recommend his class.
He's fine. His lectures are ok, but they can get very boring. The tests are fine too, but sometimes there are questions that are terribly worded. He can come off as condescending and rude sometimes, though I don't he intends to be. The extra credit policy is nice, but it encourages people to ask really stupid questions which gets annoying.
Definitely recommend taking this class with Rubinoff. The class is almost entirely project based. As long as you put the necessary effort into each deliverable, the class is extremely manageable. His lectures are also very interesting to listen to. Participation is very important and makes up a big portion of your grade.
Rubinoff is great. His class is very straightforward, and he's very knowledgeable. He provides real examples, and teaches material well. He tries his best to be unbiased, and he covers useful, real-world material in class on top of the textbook. You'll do fine. The textbook and homework are great for learning the material, and he reinforces it.
Literally the worst professor I've had all 4 years. May be a great professional in his line of work as a lawyer, but as a teacher as a person is a ruthless person. Picks favorites for participation points, is super unhelpful when students don't understand material, and has an extremely short temper. Was just not a nice person.
Grading is super test heavy, and when a professor lectures with no notes on the board or lecture slides, doesn't give out any study guide material, and doesn't follow the text book very well, its hard to get a decent grade. Tests often included topics never covered in class. Would his classes avoid at all costs. His participation system sucks too.
This dude sucks... probably the worst classroom experience I've ever had here at Tech... BS attendance and participation policies, and strict no technology policy too. condescending, mildly egotistical, there's so much to say. I literally wrote a thousand words about this man, read it here! pastebin[dot]com/cX0B1uxN
I don't like the way he teaches. He doesn't use PowerPoint and he literally just talks for an hour and a half. Also, using electronic devices is not allowed during class.
Rubinoff's entire class grade was based from 4 tests. This made getting an A difficult, but doable. He provides extra credit for participating in class discussions. I would not take a class with him if you are shy or have a hard time speaking up, he makes it necessary to do so. He is very knowledgeable, so lectures felt worthwhile.
While the syllabus looks tough, the class is straightforward. Do your reading and you will be more than okay.
Classes are just him talking for an hour so be prepared for that. Participation matters heavily in order to succeed in class. Tests were open notes but still confusing. Probably wouldn't take again.
Arn is the best!!! Great lectures and easy to contact about questions.
Rubinoff is a great lecturer with a ton of worldly experience and knowledge. Highly recommend taking a class with him!
His classes were mostly verbal without visual aids. However, he makes sure that students understand, and he gives excellent examples of the concepts learned. If you pay attentions, it will be fun, engaging classes where you can learn a lot about the course and business itself. If you don't, it will be a nightmare. Be prepared and enjoy the class.
Arn cares that his students understand the various aspects of law as it pertains to entrepreneurs than he cares for writing non-value add papers. His lectures are easy to follow and he welcomes comments about various topics. He truly cares for his students and I would actively seek him out for further lectures.
Very easy going. Lectures were well structured and participation was the biggest ask. Definitely recommend for both corporate and entrepreneurial career tracks.
Georiga Tech has many incredible teachers, yet Arn is in a league of his own. I highly recommend his Venture Creation course to anyone who even *thinks* they want to start a business. For MGT6509, Arn is a MUST. It ranks as one of the best courses I've taken in the Scheller MBA program. He really cares about his students and is a joy to learn from.
The prof. was really inspirational with a lot of real world knowledge and incorporates guest speakers. Also, he is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to legal matters.
Arn is truly one of a kind, he is compassionate and knowledgeable. Understands with the evening MBA students that life does happen and is extremely flexible with those things. He does want you to make it to class but he gives the same level of respect he asks for. HIGHLY recommend.
Arn is an amazing professor and I will always look back fondly on my time in his class. He is extremely well versed in legal considerations for venture creation and was a great resource for questions. He cares tremendously about his students and I am so thankful I was able to learn from him. He is one of my favorite professors ever
grade is comprised of 3 tests which are 90 percent, several homeworks that are 10 percent total, and extra credit if you speak in class. tests are hard and lectures are okay but far from ideal. he is not flexible or understanding at all. very straight forward class but hard. an A requires lots of participation, take note, study, required attendance
Professor Rubinoff is a great lecturer and charismatic teacher, and delivered the content very well in class. The problems I have with the course are that 3 exams take up 90% of the grade, which doesn't allow much room for error. A lot of reading in the textbook is needed to do well enough on the tests, making it hard to get an A in the class.
Good professor who is very knowledgeable and cares about the subject. Do not take MGT4670 if you think it'll be an easy A where you don't have to put in much work. There's a semester-long project that involves 5 presentations. Midterm and final that are both easy (textbook-based). Participation-heavy but it's easy to obtain the needed points.
You have 4 tests that make up your grade. You can participate to earn up to 5 extra credits to the whole grade. He requires you to read a chapter before each class. His lectures are great, his tests are very ambiguous. I struggled in the class but most people did not. IF you are a BAD TEST TAKER do not take the class.
Grading is based off 4, difficult concept-based exams. His lectures and stories were long but occasionally interesting, but he was completely degrading and disrespectful towards his students. As a professor, he's definitely not the worst, and if an A is all you care about, take him. But I would not recommend a professor with his type of character.
4 exams (25% each). Material is strictly based off what he says about in class -- ignore powerpoints and textbook, simply just write down literally everything he says. Does not offer study guides, old exams, or any preparation for his tests. Tests are 50 multiple choice comprehensive questions with no Extra Credit but you do get notecard cheatsheet
This professor is pretty good. He's straight forward about his expectations for students and he's interesting enough. There's three exams that are pretty easy in my opinion, as long as you're willing to read the textbook and listen to details in class. If you don't love classes that are lecture heavy with mandatory attendance, prob don't take him.
This professor is one of the finest professors at Scheller. He practices law and the way he teaches is fun. He doesn't tell us facts about law, rather, he tells stories. The stories are very useful in the real world as well. You know what they say "Facts Tell but Stories Sell"
For MGT 2106 he has 4 tests, each worth 25%. Attendance is mandatory. All of his tests are based off of what he says in his lectures and partially from the textbook. He tells stories to explain concepts which is very helpful. You can also get up to 6 extra points (added to your final grade) by participating in class. Would definitely recommend.
If you're not a good test taker, I wouldn't recommend taking it since 90% of your grade is made up of 3 tests. Attendance is mandatory, but his classes are interesting. I suck at test taking, but he was still a knowledgable professor.
One of the best professors I have had, lectures are interesting and engaging. The tests only cover what you go over in class, so you'll be prepared if you go to lectures. He also offers extra credit if you participate in class so you have opportunities to get extra points.
Dr. Rubinoff has extensive knowledge on International Business, and gives really engaging lectures! I found taking detailed notes on the lectures instead of the book to be super helpful, since everything he tests on will be in the lectures. Overall, a great course!
Professor Rubinoff was one of the best professors I've had, and I will be taking courses from him in the future. His lectures were extremely captivating and a nice change of pace. Be prepared to participate in class discussion to earn extra credit points!
He is great! I especially enjoyed his business law class because of the expertise he brought in as an attorney. He truly wants you to succeed and gives you lots of ways to do so. Definitely recommend and I hope I can take another class of his in the future. I learned a lot!
The class was extremely interesting and he told stories to help us understand concepts. Be ready to participate in class for extra credit points. It was very test heavy however with our grade being entirely made up of 4 exams, worth 25% each but if you form a study group, the exams are manageable. One of my favorite Scheller classes!
Professor Rubinoff is one of my favorite professors in Scheller. He has so much heart and love for teaching! You can just tell he enjoys engaging with students and telling us his stories from his days working in international business + law. He also loves to mentor and is one of the few professors at Scheller, in my opinion, who genuinely cares.
Professor Rubinoff is an engaging lecture who clearly and effectively communicates course content. He is also the friendliest, most accessible, and most supportive professor I've had at Tech. I highly recommend all his classes, especially those regarding law.
Rubinoff is a good professor, but the tests were a lot harder than I was expecting. Your grade is based on the score of 4 ambiguously-worded tests. His lectures were good at first, but by the end it started getting to be too much. The reading gets overwhelming by the 4th test. He's a cool guy, but the class itself is not it.
At first, I really hated this professor. He can be rude at times, but if you participate, he is friendly. The exams are weirdly worded but are manageable with a study group. Don't take if you don't like to speak in class. Grade is only based on 4 exams. He tests you over topics discussed in class; take good in-class notes. Lots of reading though.
Great professor who explains things well. If you're a good test taker, you should be fine as long as you study, and he pulls test questions directly from the lecture summary sheets on Canvas. Participation is super important, but he can be pretty intimidating and doesn't coddle you if you get an answer wrong, so have a little bit of thick skin.
He is a great lecturer and I really liked his teaching style as he would incorporate his own funny stories so his students can understand the concepts. Most test content comes from what he lectures about and he offers extra credit in class if you participate. Take him, concepts can be difficult but he does a great job teaching.
While I genuinely enjoyed his lectures, was actively engaged, and consistently performed well on his tests, I disliked this professor. The professor has a strict no-electronics policy and he practically mandates that everyone takes notes on paper, which is unfortunate for anyone who prefers not to take notes.
Loved his class. He was very engaging and had great lectures so make sure you attend class. He was very fair in terms of grades and engagement, tests were ok as long ask you paid attention in class. He was also highly accessible outside of class, always replied to emails and was always willing to meet if you had questions.
One of the worse professors ive had at GT. He works as a full time lawyer, teaching is just a past time. He only has 3 MCQ exams counting 30% each, very difficult and almost disconnected from his lectures. His slides are very old which he just reads off. Exams dont give students a way to prove themselves. No way to study for them as all application
This is one of the best professors I've ever had. His tests are pretty hard (all application) but the content of the class is almost all memorization. He gives a lot of extra credit for participating in class. His lectures are engaging and useful, I really enjoyed them. I highly recommend taking him and going to his office hours to get to know him!
This class was FREE. Show up to lecture + take good notes + read notes night before exam = 100 on every single test. I am not kidding when I say there is no such thing as an easier class. I would put 0 for level of difficulty if I could. Attendance is mandatory and must take handwritten notes, but you should be doing those things anyway. FREEEEEEE.
Overall he's a great professor. He is an actual practicing lawyer so has lots of funny and relevant stories. He can be a little snappy but I think he's funny. Participation can really boost your grade. Tests are mostly application so take goods notes and pay attention to his stories. Tests question are a bit odd but doable. I recommend.
There's a reason this professor has a 5/5 rating! He is caring, accessible, and VERY straightforward about how to get an A (which he openly roots for). You can get 6 points extra credit and if you get all 6 (through participation) he will round up your grade if it bumps you up a letter grade. I would take him for any class he offers, best prof ever
I've had Rubinoff twice now and I've enjoyed his class and him as a professor. He has a great personality and stories, however class can feel long and is easy to nod off in. There are no filler assignments, only grades are the tests and extra participation points. This class is not for the socially anxious, as participation is a huge grade.
really really strong lecturer, grade is only based on 4 exams. PARTICIPATE IN CLASS AND EVEN IF YOU DONT, SHOW UP. you only get 3 absences before he starts taking points off your grade. still a good professor though, tests werent terribly hard, and again lectures are really good. tests are straight from the textbook and lectures and summary sheets
The professor is a great lecturer but exam wording is ambiguous. The grade consists of 4 exams (25% each). This is a very reading heavy course (24 required chapters reading around 30 pages each on avg). His participation is extra credit and earned in each lecture. Do the readings ahead of time to ensure you can participate in class...it'll pay off.
Great professor overall, lots of real world experience in business law. Really wants to be teaching, and gives extra credit for participation but by no means is it required. Lectures can be boring at times but he usually spices it up with an entertaining story that applies the current topic. Well known by many around campus.
An old-fashioned guy that doesn't like technology in the classroom so all reading has to be done before class and there's relatively a lot of reading. He's funny and caring but the class is all lectures with 4 tests. He does give out extra credit if you participate in class and takes off points in your final grade for missing more than 3 classes.
This was my first business class at Scheller, and it did not disappoint. Professor Rubinoff REALLY wants you to make an A, and with the extra credit (provided you participate) it is not that difficult. Just make sure to read the textbook based off the lecture summary sheets so that you can talk in class. Great course!
Prof. Rubinoff is an excellent professor. He cares about his students and has an immense amount of experience in the field. He consistently gave intriguing lectures and examples, he certainly increased my level of interest throughout the course. Highly recommend.
Professor Rubinoff is easily one of the best instructors I have had in college. His lectures are extremely engaging and he incorporates his vast experience in business and law to provide real-world examples. He is extremely accessible and charismatic which makes this class more exciting. I would strongly recommend him for any classes he teaches!
I loved having Professor Rubinoff for International Business. He was caring and also did a great job of talking about real world examples in relation to the lecture topics. He also was open to suggestions about making class better and is very accessible outside of class. There is also extra credit opportunities too!
Awesome guy. Participation counts for a ton of extra credit. Pay attention in lectures because that's all the test covers.
LOVED HIM! he KNOWS what he's talking about (he's a lawyer) + taught us an exceptional amount that we would have never learned otherwise. he really cares for our future + is a GREAT connection to have for future opportunities. the class is test heavy BUT he provides up to 6 extra credit points so there's no way not to get an A if u work for it!
Always engaging and encouraging students. Tests can be tough but participation bails you out.
Great teacher with an amazing semester layout! Allows guest speakers from past students to CEO caliber speakers. Really enjoyed the semester and will be in touch with the professor for future guidance.
Amazing professor, I loved his class. He really wants you to succeed and shows it. Pay attention during lectures and take good notes to review for exams. Participation points are awarded and help with your grade in case you're not a good test taker. Very interesting class and I highly recommend taking it with him.
Rubinoff is a GT classic. A strong speaker with quality stories, real-life examples, and decent bulleted notes, each of his lecture-based lessons is a joy. With all multiple-choice tests and class-participation-based grade boosts, it's hard not to do well in his classes if you have an interest in the very relevant material.
Rubinoff reminds you what learning is supposed to be like. He's a very engaging and effective communicator, blending humor, real-world examples, and plenty of student participation to instill the content of the class in each of his students. Take him!
Great professor. His lectures are highly engaging and he cares about his students. Recommend anyone to take this course.
Professor Rubinoff was a great lecturer, and you learn a lot through the group presentations you do throughout the semester. He also brings lots of great guest speakers including former students and CEOs. Definitely take this class with him.
Cares about his students & gives a 3-point extra credit. Beware that he is test-heavy as the midterm is 50% & so is the final exam. He did make the final easier than the midterm, so there's that. Also, the final is NOT cumulative but covers everything between midterm & final dates.
Professor Rubinoff provided many interesting perspectives throughout the course, and gave us the opportunity to directly apply teachings with hands-on projects. MGT 4670 helped me feel prepared for a corporate job from framework it provided to think strategically, present with confidence, and come up with creative solutions. It was a 10/10 class!
Incredible. Great teacher and man all around. Truly cares about us. Always asked if liked the lesson style and how he could best improve. Incredibly fair. Take his class!
Rest In Piece, great guy and professor
One of the best teachers I've ever had the pleasure of learning from. Rest in peace.
Rubinoff is an engaging professor who wants you to succeed. Lectures can be dense but participation helps boost your grade. Using resources like Unstuck AI alongside the textbook is key to doing well.
