Wow! What a killer exam! The main thing to do is to listen to what he says in class: the questions were all the same as the ones in class, with different numbers. Don't get too nervous, he is an easy grader.

Gottesman was fair at the end of this course, which required us to analyze cases. He could have been stricter with the grades, but he was not.

I found this class to be informative. He helped me decide to do a CFA, which was great. Best of all options.

Really good professor. If you are present in the class need to do nothing at home for the exam. Gives dummy questions for exams and really helpful...... Class is fun.... If you do not like maths i.e. calculations do not go for this class otherwise great.

The very best Finance prof at Pace! As long as Pace does not lose him to NYU or Columbia, Pace MBA has a future! Yes, he is THAT GOOD! His exams are not easy, though. This class is not an easy A, but the prof is TRIPLE A PLUS!

Very relaxed guy, great attitude. Dont need the book, but would of liked to learn more from it. I dont think he covered enough ground to get a good understanding of Finance.

Motivates the class. Good guy. Tests are a bit tricky (but not difficult, just read clearly); reviews prior to exams. Good for the working-by-day-student-by-night individual. HW optional. Project is not difficult.

Very nice prof..smart and very helpful, wants to see you do well, dont even waste your time buying the book, doesnt even use it. But you better be good at math and memorize the problems he does in class because you will see variations of them on the final...I failed the mid-term and still got a B+ in the class

Don't buy the textbook. Take very good notes and study the problems given in class and for homework; variations of them will be on the test. Cheat sheets are allowed for the exam, so make sure yours is thourough. Big plus: If you can't finish an exam problem, you can outline what you would have done and you'll receive partial credit.

Pros: clear, straight to the point guy, interesting lectures, great person, excellent professor overall! Midterm/final are similar, mix of theory and problems, not easy but fair, very similar to stuff done in class. Cons: morning class :( otherwise there is nothing else bad

he's the best professor I've had at Pace. I didn't realized how much stuff we'd covered and how much I'd learned until the finals. Somehow he managed to teach some heavy material over a short period of time w/o piling on the pressure.

I cant understand why he teaches only this basic finance course, definately should be teaching advanced finance courses. Take him .

Being from an engg background, I dreaded FIN class, but Prof. Gottesman totally changed my perspective. Although he went really fast after faculty evaluations, I could pretty much understand all his class notes. Exam tip: Dont panic.be fast.read class notes.do class numericals. Def. A grade

Absolute best professor I've EVER had. Super clear and interesting with constant real world anecdotals. Really young guy, so is up to date with technology and gives relevant career advice - you won't be bored! Highest mark of 2 exams and 1 group project. You will wish he had more office hours but always replies to email within hours. Def recommend!

you should really take him, if had aa chance I would take any class he would teach! as a teacher he knows how to teach, how to make everybody to understand everything! he always answers to all the questions. there is one project, easy one! and two exams, which I found easy as well! As long as you can do the problems in class, you will ace the exams... but, you must manage your time on exams very well. Tons of steps, but just like the in-class problems, except different numbers! Great Professor! Lectures are clear and informative. Tests are long, but they are doable - you just need to manage your time well. Problems are similar to in-class examples. I would definitely take him again for another class.

He is a GREAT professor. Everything you have read from students for Fall 2006 semester is true. His exams are not easy, but not difficult either. They are long and have many steps. The project was very good. It helps with your final grade. I would take other classes with this professor. One of the better professors at Pace Lubin.

Attend every class if you want an A. If you miss a class, you will fall behind because the exams are based on what he does in class. Practice the problems he does in class and posts on blackboard. Exams aren't hard, you just need to know that he put all the little steps you learn in class into one problem. Formulas & plugging in numbers. No textbk.

One of the best professors so far. teaches all concepts from scratch for all those who dont know the ABC of finance. If you are comfertable with numbers, you might find him a little slow, but never boring. A must take. A lot of learning

Challenging tests, but a very fair grader. Available extensively in his office to review any material you wish. DO HIS HOMEWORKS! They are entirely optional in class, but vital to understanding material, and knowing where you need help. Excellent instructor.

Slow paced. Devoted excessive time to convey simple concepts. Could have covered more content during the course. He is though very knowledgeable, patient and always ready to help and ensure his students have grasped the concepts.

He doesn't use the book, save your $130. He has powerpoint slides. Very clear, interesting, and he ties theory to real world. Exam was challenging, but open book, and fair grader.

Took finance with him and he's very friendly and helpful. He nows a lot in his field. The trading exercise is great. The material itself is hard but he tried to make it as understanable as much as possible. Good quality professor.

Best Finance Professor at Pace U. Extremely Knowledgable

He makes the material very easy and interesting to understand. always link it back to current events. The class size was way too big to receive any attention during lecture, but he offers EXTENSIVE assistance during his office hour.

I don't believe there's a better (finance) professor out there. Very knowledgeable and a true pedagog. His explanations are clear and he doesn't play any games. Very honest and franc and just a nice funny guy. Best class ever. Wish it was longer!

Good lecturer but avoids covering any real math so not very valuable for a quantitative job or preparation for advanced derivatives courses.

Just a tremendous instructor. I learned so much about options - well beyond my expectations. Literally every class had important insights that are not in textbooks.

Professor Gottesman is one of the best professors i've had at Pace. Although it was online, each lecture was split into 10 sections, that were each very clear and concise. Each week there is a discussion board and pre quiz; as long as you do the work its easy. Midterm was a breeze, final was more difficult--but he's worth it.

Took course online, expected to be difficult- learned SO much, his noted and online assignments allowed me to really understand the material better. Always makes himself available- probably best professor at Pace.

I highly recommend Prof. Aron for this class. This is the way helpful course under him. He is very nice and always there if you really want to learn the material. The way he has provided material on Blackboard is excellent.

Professor Gottesman is excellent at conveying complex concepts in a simplified fashion. He makes the material very understandable. None of the work is too difficult.

Took this class online during winter and it's been a rewarding experience. Learned a lot and the way Professor Gottesman interprets concepts is straightforward and easy to understand. Weekly discussion board, assessments, project, midterm, and final. Exams are monitored by webcam so they are fair to everyone. Do work and you will get a good grade.

explains everything in great detail, took his online options futures and swaps class, expected it to be very difficult being it was online but this professor is a very good teacher. Textbook used was written by himself which helped because he clarifies everything

Best professor at Pace! Actually cares about his students learning something. It's a tough class but he makes it easy to understand. Go to this office hours to clear up any questions you may have, he is so helpful! Highly recommend

Fantastic lectures and book - concise, efficient, organised, unbiased. Only difficulty was that he had not facilitated a lot before the 1st half of the group project, so I had to research a lot about the subject, but his feedback after presentation was highly informational and inspirational (you cannot find much dynamic thinking else @ Pace today)

He is really straight forward. he gets straight to the point. He has a textbook but I didn't use it after a while. The reading is simple too. The professor communicates very clearly. I really wish I could take him for other classes.
