He is a younger teacher which I think helps with how he teaches. He is very clear in what he expects from you, and what you should expect from him. Probably one of the fairest teachers I have come across at El Camino. He made waking up early for math everyday worth it.
I THINK THIS PROFESSOR IS COOL AS A PERSON, BUT AS A TEACHER I DONT THINK HE KNOWS WHAT HES DOING...HIS ASSIGNMENTS ARE CONFUSING AND TEDIOUS...THE WHOLE CLASS KEPT ASKING WHAT WE HAD TO DO...HE TALKS TOO FAST...NOT RECOMENDED.
I took Martinez for Math 40 because I had him for Math 23...he was great in my Math 23 class but he's not as great this semester...he's still good but not great!
i agree with what the other person said about mr martinez...and so did a lot of other people..he's a new teacher so he hasn't established his ways on teaching...i also noticed that when they had the teacher evaluation alot of the students in my class had negative comments..not recommended.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER TO ANYONE WHO HAS TROUBLE IN MATH. FIRST OF ALL, HE DOES'NT TEACH THE CLASS. HE PUTS US INTO GROUPS AND EXPECTS US TO TEACH EACH OTHER. HIS JOB AS A PROFESSOR IS TO TEACH THE CLASS. UNFORTUNATELY, I FEEL I'M NOT GETTING WHAT I'M PAYING FOR. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
Easy class, you know exactly what he wants from you. His tests are short and easy. He's a fair teacher but his assingments are long and boring but that's with most math classes...
Mr. Martinez is the most easy going person. He has agood sense of humor and is dedicated to making you understand math. His test are hard sometimes, but it is not that scary because he totally prepares you for it. There are three midterm, onefinal and homework is not due until the day of the midterm.
He seems like a nice guy, but he CAN NOT TEACH. Like the others said: He expects us to figure it out with the lil teaching he does. He complains that the students are not doing HW or paying attention. C'mon, just teach the class!! It's an okay class, but if you wanna do good in Math to go on with the next course, take someone else.
He is a good instructor. Easy to get an A or B on his class as long you study hard. If you're not studying, i'm sure you can't pass it. He gives a lot of homework like 2-3 chapters and worth 10 points. Home work due until midterm. He gives you a studyguide or review for the test. So it's up to the student to study to get a good grade. I have a hard
He is a great, fun teacher. His class is barely any lecture and mostly group work, it really made the time go by quicker. He has a good sense of humor and always offers extra credit. He allows ten absenses before he drops you unlike most teachers. I hate math, but he made it interesting for me.
I had him and oh my god he should be recommended for worst teacher of the year award. I dread going to class because I knew I wasn't going to get the help I needed. I studied my butt off and ended up having to drop the class before I failed it. This guy is lazy and doesn't seem interested in helping the student. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!!!
Best teacher i have ever had. I got a D on Trigonometry on other teacher but when i took his class I got A.easy to understand, test focus on the lecture. gives a study guide for the test.
This teacher pretends like he is nice in class, but if you are not doing well in his class and you go to his office hours, he pumps you up like you are going to pass, then throws a 360 and fails you! I would not recommend him. He is an idiot!!
he's kind of funny...i hate working with graphing calcs though...i dont know why he would want us to use them
Great teacher. Focuses on working in groups and doing activities to help you understand geometrical concepts. His tests are pretty easy, as long as you've been practicing the material. Gives quite a bit of homework, but it's not too bad if you stay on top of it (he doesn't check each homework problem). His textbook has no answers in back.
Mr. Martinez is very lazy and he doesnt really care about the student...he told one student "i dont have a grade book" okay wut teacher doesnt have a grade book?! anyways, he's a bad teacher...he knows math but he doesnt know how to teach it.
Very good teacher, but you have to put the work in (as with any class - if youre a serious student). The only students that may not rate Mr. Martinez well, are probably the lazy ones and the not-so-serious students.
Mr. Martinez is a great teacher. Students aren't used to his progressive way of teaching. Most teachers just lecture, but Mr. M has a lot of group/class projects that make learning easier (at least it was for me).
mr. martinez was a cool teacher, hes easy...yet still kinda hard!! you just gotta kep up with the class and do ur work on time ...otherwise u get loaded with work and wont get the grade u want!! the tests are okay ... the group sections are cool!! he explaines okay ... hes kinda easy going and seems like he doesnt care too much ... but then at time
This guys reads from the book.
Horrible teacher
martinez is a pretty easy going teacher, we actually have some fun in his math class taking jabs at him. he is very clear and doesn't try to make things too complicated on quizzes or tests, almost babies you thru the class. highly recommended
NOT HELPFULL
Very easy going and fun professor. If you are not used to reading and learning from a math textbook it will be hard for you to keep up since his lectures are straight from the book. He likes to teach through group work. DO YOUR HOMEWORK! A lot of the time, the quizzes and midterm questions are straight out of the book or similar to them.
I got an F in that class.. so i had to take it over .. i didnt like his way of teaching .. and test are hard
Terrible Teacher
Great Great Teacher. Lectures very clearly and gets along with the class. Attendance is strict for him although we get a total of 7 absences. But overall he great. Lectures and gives hw that is fair.
He is one of the student-side profs. He explains materials clearly enough, but gives so much homework. If you do homework, you'll do well on exams. Nice and funny teacher. Take him!
i took stats b4 and it was horrible i failed. but then i took it with this guy and i worked my ass off and studied and i ended up with an A. i am still amazed. But he is a good teacher, funny, and helpful. Take his morning class and you will do better.overall good class, im glad i took it, recquires alot of abstract thinking and common sense
This teacher gives tooooo much homework and classwork, and if you don't finish your classwork u do it for homework. he also gives pop quizes which are so long.Tests are hard and the only time he gives xtra cr. is on the test. The only thing i liked are his lectures.Very clear
for the first time I liked going to a math class, this professor gives good lectures, some group work, class interaction, if you do the home work you will pass all his test, plus quizes when a lot of students miss, he is a little nice but into himself, and his mid terms will be hard if you don''t study.
People complain that he's too hard, but he's actually pretty easy, if you do the work. He gives a good amount of hw, which is really helpful for tests and quizzes cause theyre basically just like the hw questions. Pretty laid back, just dont ask dumb questions. He also gets a chili pepper.
Group work sucks. Martinez uses this teaching method as a substitute for actual teaching, as he seems to dislike lecturing. He gives tons of homework, and you're basically stuck teaching yourself the material. Also, he balks at answering questions. He's in the wrong business if he doesn't want to talk to students. Still, reasonably easy class.
i happened to rate math professors in terms of how much coffee i consume in class, one is good, two or three cups and me getting up means you bore me to hell, clearly a time to retire or re-think your lesson plan, or transplant a new personality. however, martinez has the knack to explain statistics like a logician with easy prose and math logic.
WUZ UP WELL I JUST WANT TO SAY THIS PROFESSOR FAILED ME AND I ALWAYS DID HIS HW PUT WORK INTO IT AND ATTEND CLASS DID ALL MY CLASSWORK I JUST THINK IS UNFAIR. SHARING WHAT I THINK LATEZ!!!
The person who commented before me apparently believes he should pass by doing assigned work. Well let me tell you Martinez is easy!!! Unless you are completely and I mean completely challenged at math, this class is a breeze. He talks each section to death to help those who do not understand out. If you don't get it, its on you. Overall, easy A!!!
Class isn't done yet.. but I just had to comment because HOW DOES HE NOT HAVE A CHILI ON HERE? He's really hot, I'm having a hard time concentrating in class.. Anyway, it's not too bad so far, he assigns plenty of homework, which is helpful. He also offers a lot of office hours and encourages visits so he's very helpful!
He is a marginal teacher, im just finishing up his class right now... he is one of those teachers that thinks he is cool... his tests are not indicative of the HW at all and he is a pretty hash grader... over half my class has dropped already... id recommend him if you have no other alternatives... over all is below average...
Martinez is a horrible teacher. He will quiz/test you on information he barley covers in class and does not explain enough of the material. Before one exam we took, he ran out of time to go over it in class, and told us to "you tube it." He is an awful teacher.
So I consider myself mentally challenged when it comes to math- I got a C in intermediate algebra. Tell me why I got an A in this class? I'll tell you why. Martinez is great, that's why. Don't be a lazy jerk and you'll at the least PASS the class. FREAKIN' STUDY AND YOU WILL PASS. He is very understanding and will often work with you and help you.
Meh! Some things in his lectures are clear others are not. One should consider looking elsewhere. This insturctor would definetly not be the first choice to go with. Take consideration of other insturctors before taking this instructor.
i gotta say, he is HOT. but a very crap teacher. maybe it's just cause i am not good at math, and i hate groupwork, and don't believe in online assignments for math courses.
His class is hard if you MISS but if you go and attend the office hours it will pay off. if you really dont understand which chances are you might not ask him. hes a cool guy just tell him to tell you in English not math language.
statistics itself is easy. but he is not good in teaching the material. so u really gotta read AND understand the book. he gives easy quizzes, online assignments, hw, 3 midterms nd comprehensiv final. overall, just stay focused even though he doesnt teach well, and studyy for the testss. i didnt go to office hrs, stil got A. so just read & study =D
he's a nice, although statistics is basic math its knwoing what type of problem to solve thar throws you off, his lectures are based on the homework problems and he gives etra credit opportunities in every exam. online hwrk is very helpful. i passed so cant complain!
Just try, and you will pass
Homework is part of your grade, class got hard after second midterm. Self-obsessed, will talk about himself a lot. Not a really hard class, but if you're not interested or comfortable with math at all, you should try to get another teacher. Tests are based on homework, especially the online hw. Not hot, in fact he looks like a creeper.
i have so many complaints about this class i don't even know where to start.
Nice guy but very hard class. A lot of homework! He does not tech short cuts. He makes you do everything the long way. Not a class for someone who isn't good in math. Tests are worth most of your grade so if you do bad on one you probably won't pass. Homework collected every day.
He is a good teacher. He's very clear, helpful & straight forward. You just have to do a lot of work and, if you want an A do all the extra credit problems.
Very good teacher. He's clear, organized and straighforward. He gives out group quizzes, gives you extra credit problems on exams. I took him over the summer and got an A.
He is really helpful, his class notes are from the book so there's no way you'll fall behind if you miss a day. If you do the homework, study his notes, handouts, and attend to class everyday you'll get an A in his class. He is funny and he looks like Iron Man lol...he's a hottie
Take him! he is the best. He gives extra credit, study his notes and homework, and you'll get an A in his class. He is funny which is weird for a math teacher
Very helpful..He knows Stats is an hard subject so he really tries to help his students learn the material. Has a sense of humor and he is very straight forward with what kind of problems are on the exams. Highly recommend him.
1. Great Teacher 2. Expect exactly what is mentioned or sampled for exams.
I personally HATE math with a passion i had to retake math 40 and taking him was the best thing ive ever done! hes very clear on how the problems are done and hes also very patient! always do the homework! im seriously surprised i survived with a C!! he's awesome!
He is a great teacher and does a good job at making sure you're prepared for the exams
Prof Martinez is a great teacher. He gives extra credit questions on the tests and pretty much tells you everything he expects. His lectures are clear and he really wants you to understand the concepts not just memorize them. Hes really funny and it makes class interesting. Plus he looks like Robert Downey Jr ;)
Very easy! As long as you do the homework and study at least 2 hours for quizzes/exams, you'll be good to go.
Martinez is awesome i really enjoyed his class it was really simple for me i got an A. I understood everything make sure you complete the HW because it does help A LOT and mostly complete the online HW.
As long as you do your homework and pay attention, you can get an A. I hate math with a passion and often passed my other math classes with a C but Martinez taught everything in such an easy way I understood the material and got an A in Stats no less!! and c'mon he deserves a CHILI he's hot!! He looks like Robert Downey Jr.
Great professor!
Mr. Martinez is the best! he is sooo hot to look at so it makes it worth going to class! I have learned so much from him. I will never forget this class. Too bad a semester is so short.
GREAT CLASS!!!!!
He's an okay teacher. But honestly this class was really hard. I admit I could have done the homework and quizzes more BUT he knows stats is a hard subject. The hw & quizes were worth 5% ONLY if you got 90%. I feel like it should've been more for the students who do bad on tests, they can balance out with the hw. Not recommended. I hope I get a C
The Professor is adorable and funny, he's clear with explaining the material. You have to put some work into this class but it's not to bad. My biggest suggestion would be to do some of the problems from the book, although it isn't mandatory. The online homework babies you a bit so it isn't the best source for studying for a test.
Mr. Martinez said if you take this class, especially in the summer, you're crazy. There is a ton of work. and homework must be completed if you want an A, along with quizzes. His tests are extremely hard, but honestly, he is very straightforward and helpful IF YOU ASK FOR THE HELP. Just talk to him about confusing things, because he is helpful.
GREAT teacher, GREAT class. I scored SO low on my math placement test because it had been a while. This class is a lot of work, mostly online and tons of handouts but I learned a lot and it 100% prepared me for Algebra which I got an A in. Prof. Martinez is a great teacher and I highly recommend him. Take advantage of the SI coaches.
Professor Martinez is very motivating. He seems a bit socially awkward but hey that's his personality. Makes a couple jokes which makes the class not as dreadful! He's all about motivating you to keep going, pushing you UNTILL you get the work done but it's helpful! He's very handsome and I would definitely want him as a professor again!
Martinez was the best. I loved his class. He is very socially awkward, but its funny sometimes. But the class is basically self-taught. He does go over everything on a test and cares so much about you passing. He will send you E-mails to help motivate like "Get get to Mod 8 by Monday or ill smack you". Tough love kinda fella.
He is a great teacher (PERIOD) he helps when you ask. i found mt self asking other teachers for help also because he was not clear on one or two questions i asked him, but for the most part very helpful. he is cute and very funny like most people will tell you. he cares about your grade and will help as much as he can to make sure you pass.
Martinez is a good professor. so far i don't have any complaints. as long as you come to class on time, pay attention, and do the homework there is no reason for you to not do well in the class
Mr Martinez is a good professor. He will answer your questions and give the students plenty of chances to improve their grades. The homework was all online as well as the quizzes and we were able to see our current grade in the class at anytime. the test are pretty straight forward as long as you study and practice daily. highly recommended.
Mr. Martinez is an amazing instructor, he actually looks at homework, and expects you to do well. If he feels that you are doing bad he will partner you up with ppl that are doing well. His clarity is amazing and he pushes you. A great foundation to further your college education. It's also a plus to see him well dressed and good looking too!
Easy class, but I came from multivariable calculus before taking this class. I took this class with him in the summer, and it was fast paced, but it was never too hard or challenging. He gives a lot of worksheets, and he even gives you previous exams to study off of. Do homework, study the old exams and you will do well. I got over 100% on tests.
This class was a survey of different types of mathematics, but does count as college level for transfer. Martinez is super chill and tries to throw in jokes at times. Lots of homework, but he's available for help after class. Class was enjoyable, plus he's a total hottie!! ;)
He's a good professor. Dresses well, cool and hilarious in his own way. Pretty easy class... Very helpful. Take him!
Not a good teacher. your grade is based on whether he likes you. If he does, he will curve you on certain assignments/test. If not, good luck . might even make you redo an exam. Cough cough -_-
He's a great professor and he gives his own notes on the topics which are definitely much more helpful and easier to understand than the textbook. All homework is on online however tests are slightly harder than the homework problems. Overall pretty chill guy and he's always available during office hours to help answer questions.
The ones who rate this professor high were most likely his favs He grades you on whether he likes you or not. If he doesn't like you, he will make you redo an exam and if he does he will curve you. I sat there and retook an exam I passed on for quote, "not showing enough work" while listening to him curve another student. Very unfair.
If you take this class you better hope you'll be one of his fav, if not prepared to be ignored
I was not suppose to take this class. But one thing I recommended is dont take this professor. Worse professor taken in my two years of college
He does explain math clear and it would be easy to understand math from him explaining math however he does believe if you do not pass a exam then it is for not showing enough work. I would recommend taking a math class with him if you want to understand math but do not be late to his math class.
He was lazy when it came to grading exams towards the middle of the semester. He acts like he cares for his students but he really doesn't. He does not mind failing everyone. I would recommend taking another math teacher.
I would not recommend taking a math class with him. He will deduct points on your test if you do not show enough work and he can be sarcastic trying to be funny when he is not. He will show you that he cares for his students but in reality he does not. Definitely do not take a math class with him and if you do then be prepared to not pass.
Awesome teacher. I have always been quiet. He makes everyone feel like there part of the class. I would definitely retake him.
Martinez truly cares if his students understand and pass his class. It is tough because it's mostly a "go at your own speed" kind of course and it's easy to fall behind and stay behind. But he will really work with you and has all sorts of help to get you to pass. Great professor, bit of a dweeb, but a good guy. I would definitely take him again.
Prof Martinez goes over everything in lecture that will be on the exam. There is a wave of bad instructors in the college but professor Martinez develops his students for success, he is the best math instructor (soon to be doctor) in the math department! Very happy I took his class. He answered every question and explains math clearly. Take him!!!
He is a excellent math teacher. Please be there on time especially if it is a 7:30 or 8:00 morning class because he will lock the door after 15 minutes. Explains math problems very well. S.I. Coach Lily sessions are very helpful. If you do not pass on the exams he will give you three chances. You need an 80% to pass. He loves to play music.
Math 150 (Stats) should really be in a classroom setting, with a professor that knows their stuff. I am very happy with this professor's teaching style and find that very occasionally in this past 2 years of JC, I'm super impressed by the instructors. To the point where I question why they are not teaching at a 4 year! Awesome!
Great class. Great teaching. Makes sure that you're understanding what's going on always. Great with timelines as tests come around. You should take him. He's super funny and super cool.
Amazing professor.
Hybrid class Most of the work is online make sure you keep up with your homework that will determine If you pass or fail.
Stats is a very easy class in general and it was an easy A for me and I'm terrible at math. Professor is very good and under rated
His class is heavily online homework and quizzes review but also he knows how to make his students understand the material. You need to study alot for his class if you are not math-oriented. He made the class memorable LOL. he is a pretty coooool guy.
This class is easy to pass if you practice by doing the homework and quizzes online, you can retake them as much as you want, and there are only 4 exams. He is a good professor and he makes sure you know and understand the content before the exams. The lectures go by fast and its literally the same as the exam
He is the best Stats professor you can have. The only way you can fail is if you do not study at all. Lectures are really good and he does not force anyone to answer. However, if you hate online homework be prepared because all homework and quizzes are going to be done by My Math Lab. Overall, really good professor and takes his time.
Prof. Martinez is a good teacher despite having his class 7 AM. He hands out a lot of worksheets and he tries his best to make things easier for his students to understand. As long as you do the online homework and quizzes online and study for his test, then it should be an easy class.
Such an underrated professor. Took him for stats over the winter and he was the best! Has amazing mock exams to study and really outlined what you needed to do to succeed. Also just such a funny and caring guy
The best math teacher. Many math teachers at elco suck but with him he really,,y tries to make his students understand and do well on the exams. Do the homework and quizzes that are online, lectures are great, and he has outlines and mock exams before every test. He drops your lowest test score. Underrated math teacher despite the 7am class.
I took Professor Martinez in the fall semester and he was okay. He did his job and I passed his class with a B. There is lots of hw and quizzes online. If you want to pass his class I suggest you to practice the quiz multiple times because the exam is similar. When it comes to questions he is somewhat helpful. Good luck!
A good person and means well. Teaching is mediocre. Gives way too much homework and tests. He doesnt really fully teach things either or go through a lot of problems. He moves fast and doesnt cover material or answer problems/questions in depth. Switching from face to face to online was a struggle because his teaching style is very difficult.
Professor Martinez is a great professor. He assigns a lot of homework, there's four exams in total and one final. Despite this, he drops your lowest grade and provides mock exams for each one. I highly recommend going to his virtual office hours, he will literally help you with the homework and quizzes!
Lots of extra credit on all of his exams. Very few exams at that. I took his summer online six-week intro to stats course and thought it wasn't too tough.
Ridiculous amount of HW to the point where the class becomes more about finishing that and the online quizes rather than studying for the exam. So far, 3 units into his class, he's given HW with ridiculous amounts of data points. You spend more time inputing the data than you do actually solving the problem. Makes errors on tests. Would 100% avoid.
Martinez was probably one of the best teachers there. He goes over everything in details and he wont move on til everyone understands it. He gives you mock exams which are VERY helpful. He also goes over the test after grading, as well as homework/quizzes if you dont understand. The only way to fail is if you dont study and ask help.
He assigns so much homework that take hours to complete. And he gives way to many exams that are worth a huge part of your grade the only good thing is that your are able to retake them and drop the worst one from your grade. You will basically be taking an exam about every 2 to 3 weeks with retakes in between.
Arturo is a really chill dude who has a great sense of how math, the only issue being that this whole pandemic really shook things up, and to be honest, it's not any professor's fault that this zoom thing was terrible. The issue with his class in specific though is that he gives too much homework to the point you can't even study for exams.
His class has lots of homework and was very time consuming. He teaches very excellent and gives out study guides before every test which helped. You need to work for it though not an easy A if you havent taken a stats class before.
Overall this isn't a good online class to take although he does zoom meetings he moves very fast and skims right through things when he is out of time and expects you to learn it on your own. I think his class would be better if he skipped the jam boards and just focused on finishing the lectures properly.
He does not have the common sense to know how much work he assigns. One of his rules of thumb is that you should have 2 hours of homework for each hour of class. And for a six week summer accelerated course, this dude assigned as much work as he wanted. If you have other classes, jobs, kids, responsibilities, don't take this class.
Professor Martinez is a very nice man, but he assigns hw that contain 15 questions, and each q's has around 8-35 parts. It's time consuming, and not at all realistic or helpful on the exams. I don't think his lectures are helpful at all either. His lectures are just annotating digital textbook pages, and he doesn't provide mock exam answers.
For the love of god do not take his class, he assigns so much homework and exams are worth 80% of your overall grade. His assigned workload is unrealistic, choose another Professor unless you genuinely prefer a challenging course.
Hes a really nice person, but his teaching is just not it. He gives a lot of hw and the tests are very long and really hard. He gives mock exams that are not even close to the actual exams.
I wouldn't recommend any first-year college student to take his class. He has a nice personality and he's very chill. I took Mr.'s Matinez class in the fall 2021. I took his class online and it made it harder because he assigns you so much homework. He helps you if you go to office hours of course He doesn't teach what the books says, it's differen
Prof Martinez is great! He talked to our class about his low rating on rate my professor, and decided to alter his lectures in order to help us out. He is a really awesome teacher. His lectures are super efficient and he always has office hours that you can go to. He is also very caring about his students grades. Give him a chance!!
he always got distracted during lectures so it was hard for me to stay on track. i didnt really like his teaching mehtods but hes a cool dude
Art's way of teaching is super smooth. He gave about 10/15 questions on my math lab for a very few chapters there's up to 15, homework and quizzes are necessary to learn stats. so do yourself a favor and do the hw/Q. he is not a tough grader very simple for what he's asking. Don't look further, add his class. and stay till the end! He's awesome!
I would say he is okay but he has a lot of work in his class and if you are not on top of his class you will fall behind a lot, I would say he has an ok personality but it doesn't make up for the workload he has, I would say find a different professor.
Professor Martinez gives you all the tools you need to succeed. The Lectures are thorough and he provides notes and activity templates. He's clear about his office hours. There are a lot of homework problems, but do them so you can solidify your understanding of the material. Don't be afraid to ask questions, he's pretty chill.
Ok so here's the deal. Great professor if you want to pass, but not as great if you want the A. The course itself is deceiving as the material starts off easy, but it gets much more complicated as the semester progresses. Prof. Martinez does not offer any extra credit except for extra credit questions on exams. He's pretty funny though.
Horrible if you need extra help with math. Makes it 10x harder to keep up because his class is SUPER packed with work. Uses my math lab, for his own benefit. Definitely better professors out there.
Even though the class is challenging, you can definitely pass it. To be successful in this class you need to put in the time and work but as long as you do you should be good. Going to office hours and doing extra credit helps a lot. I was able to do well despite having a tight schedule, a job, and barely any math skills.
LOVED HIM, stats is pretty hard on its own but he is such a good teacher and explains stuff so well. Lets you retake exams and drops your lowest grade with the final which really saved me. I failed every exam the first time and passed them the second time so don't worry. If you don't understand go to office hours a blessing from heaven.
Lectures are almost 4 hours twice a week. He expects you to spend 6 hours MINIMUM on his mymathlab homework every day, he forgets people have lives outside of this class; including other classes... Tests make up about 80% of your grade. Not good for people struggling with their mental health. Find another professor.
If you don't buy the $100 homework system you're on your own to do homework and teach yourself before lectures. Exams are the only thing graded so ATTEND OFFICE HOURS!!! Make sure you take a support class with the main course. If you don't have homework system try EXTRA hard to get amazing tests scores because it will cost more for your final grade
Very clear what going to be on the tests and gives you a formula sheet to and take into tests. Organized, offers extra credit, super encouraging, engaging lectures, made me really enjoy stats. He's funny, cares a lot, and is big on office hours and SI. Any stats class will require some work, and this professor is an excellent option. 10/10
Professor Martinez runs a challenging but rewarding MATH150 class. The workload is heavy, but he provides the tools to succeed if you put in the effort. unstuck ai was a game-changer for my study prep. Attend office hours and don't hesitate to ask questions.
Professor Martinez was a great professor to have for statistics, as I'm not a math savvy person. While I did get a low C, Martinez was very helpful and had very clear lectures, as well as extra credit opportunities. Additionally, he was hilarious with his lessons and talking about his outside life.
I had to drop this class , the material is difficult, and the class is very fast . The support from the professor was just not there.
Dr. Martinez is a great professor if you want to learn statistics, not just pass. There's a bunch of homework but it will help you succeed. Very good grader on the tests and is overall a good dude. Would recommend.
good teacher for a difficult subject, cares to make sure students understand. he manages to make a math class interactive with students. gives a lot of partial credit on exams and support sessions are useful. homework can be lengthy but it helps for understanding. for taking stats in general, have friends to study with. try not to miss lecture :)
