I really enjoyed taking Arta's class, she is very clear when she teaches, and if you have questions after class she is more than willing to answer them. She also teaches with alot of modern issues in biology in mind, which really help you to understand the relevance of the things you are learning in class.

She was very very very nice, but she was a pushover. She puts her notes up online so you don't have to come to class at all. I feel bad for her, because she is so nice and helpful, but she has no discipline at all :( The tests are easy if you study for them. he material is basic if you took H.S Biology you will do well.

Professor Damnjanovic is one of the better professors at MCC. She expects you to do the work she assigns but shes not overly hard on grading. She advises you to buy and use the text book, and its helpful but you dont really need it to pass the class. Her tests are not that hard if you do your study guides and take good notes. DO NOT MISS lab, this

She is very nice teacher and the easiest grading teacher. If you do this study guides and go to every lab you will pass this class with an A. You dont even have to come to class because all of her notes are online and she doesnt use the book even though she says its helpful. If you want an easy lab with no book this is your class.

Awesome prof. Some of the material was rather difficult so looking back it's amazing how easy she made it to understand. Tells you exactly what you need to know for the test. Never uses the textbook ever - all her notes are PowerPoint and online. Always willing to help students outside of class. If you have to take Biology take her for sure.

Arta is amazing! She gives you study guides about a week before the test. The study guide tells you everything that will be on the test. If you can answer the questions on the study guide you will ace the tests. She hardly ever gives homework and if she does, it is very reasonable. If you put in just a little bit of effort then you'll get an A.

I actually ended up writing her a thank you note at the end of the semester because of how well she teaches. If you have difficulties with science, take her! Labs usually got out 1-2 hours early and she is always available after-hours if you have questions. Our classroom was overflowing because so many students love her.

Arta is my favorite professor thus far. One of the nicest people I've ever met-so understanding and extremely helpful. Really chill environment during lab- always joked around with us but went above and beyond to ensure you understood everything. She once stayed an extra hour after class the week of a test to help those who needed it. Awesome prof!

She is a total sweetheart, is understanding, and knows her stuff when it comes to biology! In a way she is a push over though.. A big plus that helped me in the class was that she had WebCT notes up. So I would print them prior to class and then bring them with for extra guidance.

Arta was an incredible biology teacher! She definitely cares about her students, as she was willing to stay after lab or have us come in to her office if we needed clarifications regarding the topics discussed in class. By far one of the easiest classes I have taken at MCC. She is super nice, and is willing to work with you and very understanding. I had a 100 percent going into the final, if you do the study guides you will get an A, and the final is not 20 percent, just the same as any other test. Her lectures are very boring, but power points online.

Her class does not have lab practicals. She is extremely helpful and very friendly. Her power point lectures are somewhat boring, but how exciting can learning about organelles really be? She uses examples that make it easy to understand the actual concept or process instead of memorizing definitions. Quizzes/tests are super easy.

Dr. Arta is an amazing biology professor. She thoroughly explains things with her power points. She helps you with everything, and doesn't mock you for asking questions. She lets you drop one quiz score at the end of the semester, and offers extra credit questions on her quizzes and exams. Study for tests, which are over 4 pages usually.

I love Arta. Very clear and informative. Clearly loves biology and loves to teach. The book was not needed at all because her powerpoint notes was all you needed and they had pictures from the textbook in them. We had to write a paper for the last week but it was easy. Pay attention and seek help from her if you don't understand something.

I recommend her to everyone getting into a BIO181 class. I wouldn't say it was a really easy A but as long as you attend all the lectures and labs - you'll get the grade you deserve. She was very lenient with grading! Be on time to labs or else she'll call you out. Don't buy the textbook, everything is on canvas. Really wants students to succeed.

Arta is perhaps the best instructor I have encountered now finishing my 3rd semester at MCC. She's incredibly smart and tries to do everything she can to help her students. Ask and she'll answer, office hours are great, labs can be difficult, but she'll gladly coach you through it, she will tell you everything that will be on an exam or quiz!

Tests can be tough if you don't study. They are never multiple choice, always short answer. But I loved her class! She was very understanding about missing class for personal reasons. Some things in lab were a bit hard to follow being my first experience with Biology she doesn't clarify the little things like how to use a pipette and what methods to use for best results on your experiments.

Took her summer course. Excellent lectures, and actively engaged students with discoveries in the field. At one point she led a class discussion on genetic engineering, and talked about recent experiments. She gets a little too excited and stumbles a bit, but she corrects herself and moves on. Very sweet, easy to talk to. She's a very kind grader.

All of her lectures are available online, so no worries if you miss a class, however it is VERY beneficial if you actually show up because she *might* explain things that are not in the ppt. I took BIO 181 in the summer and she explained all the lectures very well. She is great at teaching and the labs were very easy. She offers extra credit and helps so much. She also gives announcements for studying before test days so I recommend going to those.

most people say an easy A, but you have to actually STUDY for your exams and quizzes.. most of the questions on exams are fill ins. you need to know word for word or you won't get the full credit on that one question. you need to know the terminology. If you study and know all the terminology and are good comfortable with it all, then its an easy A

Arta is an amazing teacher! She gives study guides and a couple of days before tests or quizzes she sends out an announcement on canvas telling you what to expect. You can't make up missed labs but if you aren't able to make your scheduled lab day she allows you to attend the other lab day. She's an understanding person I would recommend her class.

Dr D, Tells you everything to study for that will be on the test/ final. She give tons of extra credit points, &she rounds your grade if you attend all classes. but if you cant make the class tell her in advance and it wont count against you. There is no way you can fail! Unless you don't put the effort in. show up and do the work and you'll pass.

Arta is an amazing instructor and really cares about her students and wants to make sure they understand the material. At first her teaching style was a little redundant and seemed like she was speaking to elementary kids but now I get why she does it. She really slows down the information for you to be able to understand.

Overall great teacher, she has super long lectures (but uploads PPTs online) & for exams she gives you study guides (as hwk) and sticks to the study guide, no hwk other than that. Labs are really fun and easy to follow. She does very limited extra credit (a make up if you miss lab). shes very nice and approachable. Really loved this class.

I've have now taken Dr. Arta for bio181 and now microbiology online. Her teaches skills as a teacher are impeccable. She is very understanding and gives ample opportunity to learn the material to receive better grades. Labs were done at home, three lecture exams with final exam. Labs did have quizzes and practicals that were manageable. I love her!

LOVE her teaching style. She accommodates ALL types of learners by switching between diagrams, videos, and outlines. She lectures concisely and explains complicated processes step by step. She was also kind and very understanding via email communications. It's quite a lot of content, but not difficult content. STUDY the guides and you'll pass.

The class is hard in general but I recommend taking it with this professor. You do have to buy a lab kit, labs are super easy but if you work during the week its hard to get them done since you have to start them on certain days. Majority of your grade is test, you dont have much to get your grade up from the test.

I took her class because she had decent ratings on here. It's ALL online & she did a great job of breaking down the chapters into short videos. She breaks up the 3 exams into like 6 chapters each and makes specific study guides for each. Labs are guided by videos. As long as you keep up on the lectures & study guides you will do great!

Dr. D is a great professor for this class. There are lecture videos for each week and you take your own notes and there is at least one lab per week but other than that there are no other assignments. There are lots of tests but thats to expect with any BIO class. Dr. D is so sweet and caring I definitely recommend taking her class.

if taking online, make sure to listen to ALL lecture videos and complete study guides and worksheets. She provides all material needed to pass the class with an A, you just have to be determined to learn and absorb the information. My favorite part of course was doing the labs!

I loved this semester with Arta. She is a great biology professor, patient, and willing to work with you. Her tests were easy, and she explains things very well. The material was also recorded by her for online use, even though the class was in-person. She is not a tough grader.

Her class was pretty easy considering the fact I studied the day before (the) exams due to the fact I had other classes and work as well (bad time management on my part). The study guides are important when it come to the exams. The labs were interesting and she made sure to tell you what you needed to study(and what wasn't necessary).

Doctor Arta is an outstanding professor! Feel comfortable to ask questions during lecture, do the study guides, and memorize concepts she emphasizes in class. She works through cell processes on the white board. Lecture vids are good. Every test has EC. Provides a semester calendar and suggests assignments to complete weekly. Hosts review sessions outside of class for all tests. Provides study guides on every test. Not much new material when compared to gen bio 1/2 and A&P 1/2. U have 2 try 2 fail.

I did 16 week online class. Labs were interesting. Didn't have one every week and some were less hands-on than others. Lectures were all videos. Very organized. Clear guidelines. Uses Respondus for exams. They are worth most of your grade. You're also graded on a study guide for each exam. Extra credit opportunities. I thought she was good.

The study guides she provides are the content you can expect on the quizzes and exams, and she provides a video for each exam letting you know what's going to be covered and how (multiple choice, essay questions, matching, etc.). 10/10 would take again.
