Best math professor I've ever had in college...and I've moved around a lot.

One of the best math teachers!! he is so nice and funny,very approachable and helpful. u dont HAVE to do the homework in the BOOK, as long as u can understand the class notes and worksheets(yeah u have to do those)you'll be fine.

Yeah it is hard to keep a straight face for the first day or so but he's actually pretty good and he does have a lot of human qualities.

Arthur is a good man. The world could benefit from more genuine people such as he. I was doing really well in his class but then i slacked off & eventually failed but it was no fault of his. I highly recommend him to anyone who isn't very strong in Math.

Due to his mixed ratings I was concerned. I think I got out of the class what I put into the class. He was always more than willing to give extra time to understand the material. I felt he broke down concepts step by step, which made it easier preparing for the final.

one of the best math teachers i have seen so far. this guys should be assigned more higher math like calculus, i think it's an insult for him to be assigned math 104 coz he's way good. i passed his class with flying colors and i owe it to him coz he realy helped out a lot.

He's by far the best math teacher I've ever had. Anyone who doubts his unusual style is likely taking themselves too seriously. Mr. Hayes never has an off-day and is probably the most positive person I've ever met. If you want an enthusiastic teacher who's willing to help you succeed he's the one for you. His lectures are the work of a genius.

Mr. Hayes tells you "it'll be all right" - and it will!! He is one of the best teachers I've ever had the pleasure of being taught by. Mr. H. genuinely cares about each student and helps them to suceed. I actually am excelling for the first time -in math. His style is fun and keeps math intersesting. Mr. Hayes is a good man.

Mr. Hayes is one of the best teachers I've ever had throughtout school. It's too bad I did not have many teachers like him in high school- he is a kindhearted person who knows his stuff and is VERY helpful. Also pretty funny guy too (if your a geek like me!)

He's a good teacher that is willing to help. He makes things clear and goes step by step through the processes. He tends to get overexcited and overfluctuates his voice but he's entertaining and tries to keep the class spirits up. Very nice, I recommend him!

he is the best teacher ever!! and i think he should teach 152 and 153 too! he knows how to teach students and that really helps them to learn better and be able to keep things in their mind better and he makes it more interested in learning and practicing math! he gives the energy for that! i really think he should be teaching the other courses too

Dr. Hayes is a wonderful teacher! He knows how to teach and he really cares for his students to learn. His exams are same stuff as the handouts and notes. And you don't really need the text book for his class. I didn't buy one and I was fine without it. I definately recommend him. A++++++

Wonderful professor. The best professor at CSCC. I got a B+ in his class. I would have an if I studied for the finall. His exams are easy and very similar to the review packet that he gives. I recommend him 100%.

Mr. Hayes really LOVES math. he jumps around the room as his voice projects down the hall. He will keep you laughing and keep your interest. You should take his class; yes...even if it begins ay 8am. I will be worth it!

I am really not a Math guy, but Mr. Hayes really helped me to understand the material in class and outside of class during office hours. He is pretty easy going and seems to really enjoy teaching. I would definitely recommend him. He is one of my favorite math teachers ever!

What a great teacher. I want to take him for all my upper-level math classes. He knows his stuff, he loves teaching math, and he can explain in really understandable ways why things are the way they are in math! Even if you don't know math he can make it so easy to understand. I loved Mr. Hayes's class!

I used to hate and dread math classes. Thanks to the excellent teaching of Mr. Hayes, I no longer do. It's so much clearer and easier now. I highly recomend this professor.

This guy is amazing!!!! He Loves math. and loves teaching. He passes out handouts like crazy, you dont have to do them but if you do there's no way you will fail his tests. the whole class loved him, you should buy him a pie at the end of class, he's just that awesome!!!!

Hands down he is the best teacher that I have ever had! I have class at 7 am and I can say that I enjoy going to class. He is a ball of energy and makes the class go fast(in a good way). He does not mind when asked questions like many teachers that I have had in the past. Easy to understand and great examples!

He get's really excited about Math, which for me, makes Math a lot easier to get involved.

This guy is crazy nice. He's funny, too, but sometimes things just get out of hand. Can be difficult to understand his voice, but he gives out tons of handouts that make everything way easier.

Mr. Hayes will have u crackin up the whole time because it takes a few days to get used to how he talks but he's such a good teacher! He won't stop explaining until u get the confused look off ur face. If u want to get an A in calculus, he makes it easy

This guy probably wrote the calculus for dummies book. He explains things in a way that even a weak math student like myself can understand. I got my first A in math (calculus none the less) with this professor! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Mr. Hayes is a spectacular teacher that loves teaching! The only bad thing I have to say is that he doesn't respond quickly to emails, but he does have a lot of office hours that you can go talk to him during.

THE BEST MATH TEACHER IN CSCC, I HAD HIM FOR 148,150 AND 151. Wish he was teaching 152,153,254,285. He loves teaching. He tells a lot jokes. Makes the class fun and that you dont miss a class. You'll learn a lot. When it comes to the grades you have to earn it.HINT: Must sure you do the handouts that he gives. That will help you on the tests Quizs.

I hate Math, but Prof. Hayes made it more than tolerable, he made it fun! He's one of the best teachers I've ever had! He's absolutely fantastic! I've never been able to get a grade higher than a B in Math, but with his help and clarity I have finally earned an A! Love him!!!!!!!

Be prepared for a Baptist sermon in his class! His energy is through the roof, he's an absolute riot, who explains hard concepts in ways easy to understand. Don't bother with the book, you don't need it. Tests come from his handouts. Best math teacher A+++++ HIGHLY recommend him if you can get him

Probably, no, definitely the best math teacher I have ever had in my entire life. He teaches like a pastor would preach, but it's fun. His classes are entertaining just as they are informative. He explains everything thoroughly and answers questions, as long as you ask them. I would recommend him to any and everyone.

Retook this class and I have to say I understand everything now that I took it with Hayes. He really wants you to understand and makes you feel that no question you ask is dumb. He will go over it as much as you need. Has TONS of open times for extra help.

Mr. Hayes is by far the the best Math Teacher at Columbus State. I retook this class(more times than I wanted) and Mr. Hayes explains the material so clearly and wants you to learn! he is exciting, funny, and adorable! Offers plenty of office hours to help you, provides study material for quizes and exams & NO SURPRIZES! I will recommend him 110%!

He is a really great math teacher. He will explain it as many times as you need! He is really passionate about math, if you come to class and pay attention- you will pass!

He was so boring. It was an 8 o clock class and I really wish he wasn't so boring. He spoke in a childish tone and would repeat material that didn't need repeated for some of the less intelligent students, which was even more boring. What he bought was not similar to the tests or quizzes, and he was a very harsh grader.. I don't recommend him.

This is the best and most enthusiastic Math teacher I have ever had. He explains things extremely well and makes learning math like and adventure. Come to this class ready to learn. His tests are straight forward and based on the handouts. Homework is not graded! I had a C in 104 and I am going into the finals in this class with an 93 A.

Class was difficult for me, although he explained things alot! He was always there to help during office hours and genuinely wants each of his students to succeed. At 1st his accent and mannerisms are distracting, but don't let that bother you! This guy is an excellent teacher and bases your grade on how much you try. Get him as your math teacher!!

He's an awesome guy who is willing to help anybody at anytime to understand the material. He rarely uses the book so refer to his handouts and the notes taken in class for a good grade. He also has extra credit available on tests, which is nice. The only slight issue was the final exam-it was pretty difficult. Other than that, he's awesome

Don't bother buying the book if you're on a budget, but HOLD ON TO THE HANDOUTS FOR THE WHOLE SEMESTER you will need them for quiz's and the final. Go out of your way to have him..

He is a nice guy and a good professor. You don't need the book for class assignments, only for HW but you don't have to do any because he gives you review sheets in class and goes over them. Sometimes you can't really follow what he's teaching though...

An amazing guy and teacher. Your first impression of him might be that he seems a little strange but it is because he is so enthusiastic about mathematics. He is SUPER helpful. He never makes you feel dumb about your questions. He has a way of making complex concepts easy to grasp. Class prepared me well for higher maths when I transferred to UC.

Doesn't teach from the book. He gives out his own wkshts. His atmosphere was bubbly. He raises his voice really high while acting silly. I wasn't as amused as others. Listen in class, take notes, do wkshts. He sometimes doesn't cover everything that we should know on the tests. He takes off little points as he can and gives credit for work shown.

Repetition is key and Mr. hayes is so great at cleverly repeating what we need to remember at the right moment during his lectures. and He gave out clear handouts the whole semester!

He gives graded tests and quizzes back next class. He goes over problems thoroughly and makes them understandable. Always willing to answer questions in class and during office hours. Gave extra copies of tests and answer keys to study for final. Only takes off partial points if answer is partly right. Homework problems are suggested not graded.

Mr. Hayes is in my top 5 teachers OF ALL TIME. He is hilarious, always helpful, and is a math genius. Mr. Hayes explains things very clearly giving you plenty of time to copy from the board. He also takes any questions that you have during class and makes sure that you know what you're doing before moving on. TAKE HIS CLASS.

Mr. Hayes is the reason why I was able to pass Math 148. For the first time ever in a math class, I genuinely understood the material and how it was being applied, as opposed to just memorizing the steps. He was really fantastic and always helpful. He's willing to go above and beyond or his students, and it's obvious how much he genuinely cares.

this guy Is a good teacher. if you're like me and skeptical about all these rave reviews and if its just based on the teachers nice personality etc, forget it, this guy knows his stuff and he knows how to explain it. and has a nice personality and a sense of humor while teaching. so if you have a chance to take him, do it, and thank me later

I took him for tutoring. This is the most SWEETEST and CARING man ever!!. I was able to get an A in CALCULUS because of HIM!! He is very patient, and he is SO GOOD at teaching. He breaks down problems step by step, and he makes it look so easy. HE IS THE GOAT!!
