super easy class. tests are online and you have all day to take it
Great class, although attendance is optional if you skip you can miss info. Very few grades assignments, so beware.
Hes literally the best teacher you could find for Geography, for both students who are looking for mandatory WLC class & actually interested in Geography and wanting to learn more. His tests are easy and open notes so as long as you take detailed notes from class you should be getting decent grade. Also his class includes many helpful information
Easiest class ever, I love it. The only thing that's graded are exams (which can be scary), but they're all open note and online. Every answer is verbatim given in his lecture notes, so if you copy those down you're guaranteeing an 100. I stopped going to class but he was funny when I was there.
TAKE PHYSICAL GEOG WITH HIM!!! everything is online: Get a few friends to switch off who joins the zoom and take notes. I have never once stressed about this class - No studying needed, online tests, all can be found in the notes. I literally have an 100 in the class, such an easy credit class. SO EASY!!!!
SUPER EASY, definitely take this class! It is fill-in-the-blank notes, no homework, no quizzes. Literally, just 5 tests that are solely based on the notes make up your grade. Attendance not required, just get the notes from someone and you're guaranteed an easy A
Dr. Hopkins is the best! Take his class if you're looking for an easy credit. I took him for human geography, and it's just lecture based. There's no homework, just open note tests, but they're not hard. I recommend making a huge google doc of all the notes and use that for the tests. An easy A for sure !!
I think I showed up for this class twice. Professor Hopkins is a great man, very respected. There is 5 exams and that's it. He posts all the lecture notes online, its just your job to fill out the fill in the blank notes he posts. The tests are online and open note. If you don't make an A, its your fault not his. Take him!!!!
VERY EASY
Hopkins is hands down the best Geography Teacher at UGA. No matter how invested you are in the subject it is the right choice for you. Professor Hopkins clearly cares about the subject and will explain everything thoroughly, but he is not a tough grader at all so those who need the class can do just as well. He also did zoom meeting which was nice.
The easiest class I've ever taken at UGA. Attendance is not mandatory, but lectures aren't posted online. Adore Stan!!!!!
Easiest class I've ever taken. I went to class once the entire semester. All of the tests are online, no lockdown. He does lecture in class and over zoom and his notes are fill in the blank with bolded sections that you need to know for the test. 10/10 would recommend if you need an easy credit.
This class is very easy. As long as you are collaborating with other students on notes and if you miss a class get the notes from someone else you are good. His test is usually directly from notes and open notes/no collaborating. I took this class for the physical science credit and 10/10 recommend it! He is also sweet and caring.
I did not go to class a single time and made a high A in the class. Tests are straight from fill-in the black notes and slides from class and people were constantly updating the notes in the GroupMe. No assignments other than very easy, but slightly long tests. This is the best class to take to satisfy a physical science credit.
This was a really easy class. Your grade is made up of 5 tests that are a bit long, however, they are open notes. The questions come directly from the notes which he gives you and are fill in the blank. If you miss class, get the notes from someone else and you'll do fine on the tests. There is also an extra credit quiz that can boost your grade.
Super easy class. He gives you the notes and all you have to do is fill in the blanks. Your grade is made up of 5 tests that are a bit long, however, the questions come directly from the notes. There is an extra credit quiz that can boost your grade too. He's a sweet guy, but class can get monotone and boring. Would still recommend for an easy A.
Easiest class ever. Prof Hopkins is super sweet and funny. I never went to class tho because attendance does not matter and I still got A's on all the tests because they're open note. Only complaint is I wish the exams had more time because it was always a crunch. Other than that I highly recommend taking him for an easy A!!
His online course is AMAZING! Very well organized, great communication, and clear expectations. You are graded on 4 open note tests. He provided so many resources and was very nice. Highly recommend!
Possibly the easiest class on campus and he is really funny! Attendance is not mandatory but I would go to get the notes in class (just fill in very easy) or get them from a friend because they show up on the tests which are online. If you can take this as a credit, do it.
Super easy class, very good professor.
Great professor! Attendance isn't req but lecture ppts are needed to fill in notes. He doesn't post ppts, but will send if you email him. Test heavy, 5 tests total (easy w all notes and all online). Also gave some extra credit. Easy A w/ minimal effort. If you get all the notes and use his study guide ppts, easy A on tests. Tests open all day.
attendance isn't mandatory, but he doesn't post the notes (many students are willing to give them to you though); the tests are exactly like the notes and are online and open note and you take them at your own convenience; literally easiest A ever
I am not a science person, but needed to fulfill my physical science credit and this class was perfect. Attendance is not mandatory and tests are open note with the answers in the powerpoints he posts on his website. There are 5 exams with 1 scavenger hunt project a map test at the beginning of the year - easy 100s. I would recommend 110%.
Professor Hopkins is the GOAT. Class was very easy and an extra credit quiz helped my grade a lot at the end of the semester.
Really easy class but professor is a dry lecturer. If you want an easy class to complete a credit this is a good one to take. All tests are online and open notes but not super interesting.
Professor Hopkins is a nice man, but his lectures are very boring. However, the class is extremely easy as all tests are open note and online. He also offered an extra credit quiz at the end of the year to boost grades. Take him if you need an easy science credit.
Take this class if you can. Optional attendance and lectures every single class. Tests are online and open note, and 80% of the test comes straight from the notes, the rest is kind of connecting the dots. No homework, just find someone that will give you notes and you won't even have to go to class.
Easiest class I have ever taken. One "field trip" which takes at most an hour, and the rest is tests. The tests are online and open note, and most of the information comes directly from the notes. He's not the most exciting guy in the world, but he is super nice and loves teaching his class. If you can get Hopkins, take him.
Really easy physical science class. I haven't been to class since January because you don't need to if you have the notes. Watch out on tests because if you mess up on one of them it could cost you an A.
I went to the first class and that was it. If you are looking to get an A then go to lectures but if you are okay with B/A- range then you don't have to show up. All 6 exams are online and open note and only take about 50 minutes each.
Really fun and pretty simple class. Show up and get notes, and you can do well on the tests!! + some extra cred
Professor Hopkins was great. Funny guy, approachable, and willing to help. Attendance isn't mandatory but you won't do well on exams without going. He also gave a big extra credit opportunity.
Graded only by tests which are given online. 55 mins for 55 questions so you need to have notes ready, but as long as you work with people in the class to have good notes you will be fine. Lectures are engaging and helpful for note-taking but not mandatory. Hopkins has a good personality and is caring, and is genuinely interested in the content.
There was only a few homework assignments the whole semester. Your grade is mostly based on the exams. There was no final or midterm, just x number of online exams. He doesn't take attendance but he doesn't put the slides online so you should show up anyway. He gives you the notes but you have to fill in the blanks, so still go to class.
Stan Hopkins is such a great guy. His tests are all online and the class is very manageable. He knows what he's talking about and is passionate about it. I would definitely tell people to take him.
Prof.Hopski is very chill. The easy tests, they are all open notes. Attendance is not mandatory, just make sure you take good notes for the tests.
Easy content
the goat. simply nothing else to say
Take Hopkins for an easy credit. Attendance isn't mandatory, but the lectures are fill in the blank notes so I'd still go. He's a really funny and laid-back guy. All his tests are online and he gives you all day to take them. You're graded on the 4 tests and a couple quizzes which are all super easy. He also gives extra-credit at the end.
All you have to do to make an A in this class is actually show up. If you find the lectures boring despite professor Hopkins' humor, it is super easy to multitask in this class. You can get the notes and work on other assignments at the same time. He is super understanding!!!
he is an absolute king
easy a you dont need to go to class all the answers are in the slides he posts
GEOG 1101 was not stressful, most of the class was taking notes during his lectures and if you have the notes you will be fine on all of his tests (which are open note). He offers extra credit at the end of the semester that can really boost your grade. If you can take his class, do it!
This class was fine but the lectures were boring and not engaging. Easy to do well in the class, though, if you show up and take notes.
Take this class with him for an easy A! Very nice and wholesome man. All the test material comes straight from the notes. Tests are online without a lockdown browser and class is cancelled on test days.
Goes out of his way to make this course easy for you. Tbh you don't really need to go to class because tests are all online, but if you get the lecture notes, the tests are word for word the notes.
As long as you have th notes you will be fine. You are graded by 5 tests and then a project. Extra credit assignment at the end of the year gave me 3 points on my final grade.
Take this class if you need the credit!!! Super easy tests because it's word for word from the notes. Attendance is lowkey not necessary because he posts the slides and "reviews" which is a bunch of slides. He was pretty funny emphasizing that tests are at home and no lockdown browser!
Some of the lectures can be a little dry but his little jokes and expression help to lighten the mood. the guided notes are helpful in understanding what information is essential to know for the test and additional information to help understand/might find interesting. The only grades are the 4 test plus a map test but there are open browser.
This class is so easy and the professor understands that people don't really care about the content so he doesn't force you to learn it. His lectures are pretty boring but he seems like a nice guy and you don't have to go to class because he posts all the slides before the test.
Super easy class, you don't need to go, just make sure you have a way of getting the notes before exams. He posts fill-in-the-blank notes online and tests are word-for-word from the notes.
Mr. Hopkins was very easy going. Only 5 exams. There was one bonus quiz towards the end of the semester which is helpful. All the exams and bonus quiz are taken at home online on ELC and you're giving a full day to take it. You do have to attend the class if you want to get the notes, but attendance is not a grade. No assignments/homework.
TAKE HIM. The tests are all online and come straight from the notes. No surprises on the tests. I finished with a 99 in the class and only showed up about half the time. TAKE. HIM.
Great professor, no homework, and attendance is not required. There are only 5 tests so just show up to class and take notes.
HE IS THE BEST! He's so kind, unintentionally funny and so passionate about human geography! There is no homework and attendance isn't mandatory, but the 5 exams are purely based off the slides that aren't posted (if you can get the notes from someone else you'll get an A)
Dr. Hopkins is great!! The class is only graded based on 1 quiz, 4 tests, and the final but he offers extra credit and I really enjoyed not having to worry about homework. His tests are online and overall pretty easy other than some questions being worded a little weird. Super sweet guy, take him if you can!!
This class is very easy only 5 test online that are open note. Tests are much easier you attend lecture and he is pretty entertaining if you decide to go. Much easier than other human geo classes and Arthur truly is a sweetie pie
Very easy class, with 5 online open note non cummalative tests. He provides note outlines that you fill in by going to class. He is also a funny guy and makes class enjoyable so just go. He also gives occasional extra credit (i ended the class with a 101% bcs of it lol)
As long as you get the notes you will be fine on the tests. I would take this as an easy physical science credit.
Easiest class I've had so far. You are graded based only on open-browser exams, and he gives out so many extra credit points. Exams questions are word-for-word what is on the notes/slides. He also gives you templates for the notes.
Grade consists of 5 exams and some extra credit provided; an A+ is 95%, so keep this in mind. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he does have fill-in-the-blank notes, so you should go unless you can get them from a classmate. Some exam questions can be tricky and aren't ALL copied directly from the notes. No work outside of class besides exams.
Funny guy; the class wasn't that hard and the lectures were kinda boring lol, but the test questions were tricky because of the wording. Make a friend so you can get the notes to fill in the notes he gives you. Your grade entirely depends on your test grades, and you have 5 tests. Also, to get an A in this class, you need a 95. 8/10 class overall.
Hopkins makes this class easy enough for credit. 5 tests, online for the whole day, open-note. Makes you need a 95 to get an A, but rounded my 94.4 up. Make a friend in this class so you can share notes and help each other for tests, makes the course so much more easier. Attendance is not mandatory, but he does not post his notes on eLC.
Dr. Hopkins teaches the class in a way that is very easy to understand. His lecture notes are fill in the blank notes and are often word for word on the test. Notes are important because of this so if you miss a day it is important to get notes from someone. Overall, if you attend class or get notes from someone else you'll be fine.
Hoppy is the best. He's the go-to for the GEOG sections that he teaches. Just go to lectures (or get the notes from someone) and you'll get an A. Honestly, his class is set up so simply and is so easy that if you don't get an A, it must be on you.
Fantastic amazing perfect Hoppy. He should be your number one choice for his sections.
Take home tests every time
easy A. All exams are take home and online. He doesn't use lockdown browser. He gives you fill-in-the-blank notes and bolds what is on the exams. Take his class if you like life.
If you're looking for an easy class with a super chill professor, this is for you. Tests are all take at home and if you happen to be sick on a test day (I was once), let him know and he will have a make up test for you. Attendance is completely mandatory and I would 100% take again.
This class is super easy if you get the notes. He does not post the notes so you kind of have to go to class or have a friend go and send you the notes. When taking the tests I would just make sure you know what was on the slides and that is all. Class is pretty chill, but you do kind of have to show up. He is chill, but lectures can be boring.
Hopkins is so chill. Just show up to class, take the notes that he literally has word for word on the board, and then every test is online and you can use all the notes. The tests use the same words as his notes too, so literally everyone should get an A in the class. Such an easy class for your physical science credit.
If you need a physical science credit, take GEOG 1111 with Hopkins. Easiest A ever, tests are open note.
Easiest class I have ever taken. Tests are take home and if you have a little bit of common sense you will get an easy A.
Very chill, not too much effort required for this class
Professor Hopkins is such a nice guy! He gives you fill in the blank lectures, so its beneficial to show up to class, but not mandatory. The class is graded only through the tests, but they are online and you can use your notes. He also gives an extra credit quiz that you can take towards the end of the semester to add points to your final grade.
Dr. Hopkins is an easy teacher and you should definitely take him if you just need the credit. If you are actually an ATSC major I would not recommend this class because you don't really learn much. He gave two opportunities for extra credit so go to class on the last day (+10 pts). Exams are take home super easy just make a word doc.
Professor Hopkins is the chillest teacher I have had at UGA. He recognizes that students won't come to class because attendance isn't mandatory. However, I highly recommend it as all of his tests (which are online, and he encourages you to take them open notes) come straight from the notes, and he doesn't post class lectures. Great guy easy class
Such a good professor! Lectures are very straightforward, and fill-in-the-blank notes are provided for each lecture, but you do need to attend to actually get the content. Tests are all take-home, and he is super chill about everything and even provides extra credit at the end of the semester for those who want to take it.
GOATTTTTTT GOATTTTYTT GOATTTTTTTTTTTTTTT HES AMAZING TAKE HIM
Would only really recommend for those looking for an easy way to satisfy a physical science credit.
Literally the easiest class I've ever taken and he doesn't care whatsoever. On the first day he literally encouraged us to look up answers on the tests if we didn't know them. You're only graded on exams but because they're asynchronous, online, and open-note it's literally a guaranteed A
Graded by a few easyish exams that include material in notes he provides to fill out based on lecture. He's a fun lecturer and easy to follow. Extra credit opportunities based on one bonus quiz and one class attendance check on the last day of class-- feel bad for the guy near me who left ten minutes before it ended & missed it
He is so sweet. Go to class to fill in notes. Study from review slides. Takes some effort but put work in and make an easy A. You should go to class! He is funny and nice
This class is pretty easy and the only grades for the course are some tests and an extra credit quiz. Even though attendance is not mandatory the information he goes over is pretty much exactly what is on the test. He is a pretty funny guy and I would take another class with Professor Hopkins.
Love Professor Hopkins! Class and exams were easy, highly highly recommend.
He is super nice and caring. Grade is comprised of a map test, 5 unit exams, and 1 GFT quiz. He has an extra credit opportunity. He also responds to emails quickly.
Great professor! Easy class, attendance isn't required, but he doesn't post the notes so take that as you will. It is graded by 5 unit exams and two other tests. The tests are pretty easy and straight from the notes. He gives an extra credit opportunity near the end of the course. Overall good class to take if you need an easy science credit.
Dr. Hopkins was a good intro professor. His lectures were a bit monotonous, but he conveyed the information well enough. The tests are also very easy.
he is so chill. take him.
Hopkins is the best. All exams are online. There is an extra credit quiz you can take. Such a chill guy. Take him!
All the other reviews say he's a chill guy for a reason, but what pushed him to 5/5 in my book was his absolutely dope hats. He has some kinda cowboy hat with a huge (real) raccoon tail ornament tied on the back and it's so funny to see every time he walks into class, it looks right off the show "Yellowstone". Come for the hat, stay for the easy A.
online open note exams, super nice guy just passionate about geography
It was 5 online quizzes that weren't on lockdown, and attendance wasn't mandatory. Just take the class bro
You can definitely tell he loves what he teaches. Take this class, it is very easy and interesting!
All you need to know is that the exams are open-note and done online outside of class. He's very passionate about what he teaches and although not many go to his classes, I did enjoy the lectures.
Easiest class EVER. Attendance not required and all tests are take home and open note.
Easiest class ever. Exams are open note and open internet. Attendance isn't mandatory. Take Hopkins!
Easiest class ever. Attendance isn't required, and tests are open note. Very easy test questions also.
Don't go to lectures its boring, just find the notes on a quizlet if you want. Otherwise pretty easy class. Open note exams so...
Professor Hopkins is great! The only coursework is tests, so be wary of that. They aren't too terrible if you attend the lectures, take notes, and utilize the review slides that he provides. All tests are open note which was super nice. Definitely recommend for a physical science requirement!
I would definitely take him again. Attendance is not mandatory and test are relatively easy.
The lectures he gives in class had the exact information that is on the tests, and every test is open note so you're basically guaranteed an A in the class. Super easy, super chill dude. Take him for an easy science credit.
Sweetest and most precious man to exist. You have to only do one map quiz in the beginning and then four exams (no final as the final is just the fourth exam but you don't need to review from the whole year). If you want real notes, I highly recommend making a friend and alternating going and taking real notes for tests. Tests are fully open notes
SO SO EASY! I barely went in person and often used notes from a friend. Tests are open note, no lockdown browser on eLC. He posts review slides online just not the filled in notes. There is even extra credit offered for this course. Def an easy A.
The tests are all online which is very nice! I will say though, if you don't go to class just try to make sure you have the notes because they definitely help as most of the test questions come directly from the notes. It's definitely easy because it's all online/ open notes (but you will have to search for the answers a little bit) ...idk not bad!
Great class! All tests are online, open note. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it definitely helps if you do go to class because the notes are very useful and straight to the point. Easy class and highly recommend
He is super chill! He lectures for the whole class. We have lecture notes with blanks for us to add in the information on the slide. While he lectures, he also points out what things are on the test. He is very nice and funny, and I think he's a great teacher.
This has to be the easiest class I've taken at UGA. Professor Hopkins is hilarious and very easy-going. You don't even need to go to class. The entire semester just consists of a few exams that are all online and open notes. There are no assignments. I didn't go to class once, and I got an A in the class. Take this class if you want an easy A!
No homework! All you have to do is notes. He posts them online, but you need to come to class to fill in blanks from his presentation. The exams are not lockdown, super easy, basically just the notes word for word. He has a dry sense of humor and always makes me chuckle. One day, he gave us extra credit just for coming to class bc it was raining.
Dr. Hopkins is a very boring lecturer, but thankfully he knows that and makes all the notes for you to fill in. All the information on the test he puts in bold print. All grades are based on a few tests done on your own time outside of class.
GOAT, went to class once, be careful using AI on the exams it gets it wrong sometimes but he gave an extra credit quiz at the end which clutched.
I took the lab for this class and it was really good. People good work together on the questions as long as you typed in your own words and he is chill. The first lab was pretty hard but everything else was manageable. He also gives 3 bonus points if you submit the lab the day it is assigned. Overall, I would recommend!
Dr. Hopkins is one of the best professors at UGA. All exams are online and attendance is not mandatory. Exams are pulled directly from notes (which have to be filled in, in class) but offer's extra credit at the end of the semester. Take Hopkins if you need a physical science credit!
Take this class if you need a physical science credit
i used chat for this whole class. nice professor. went on the first day. ended with a 98. good night.
Easiest course I have ever taken. He's super nice & seems to know this is an easy credit for students. He is passionate about the material although lectures are not very involved as it is just fill in the blank notes. I don't think you even actually need to go to lecture to get an A...
