Lectures are boring, but important. Take very good notes, it will help for exams. 2 midterms, a final and a paper. An A is possible but you must work for it.

Puts the whole lecture on the computer overhead while talking, easy notes!! Tests are only difficult if you dont study. The stugy guide works great too so do the problems he mentions.
i hate his lectures...the monotone voice just eases you into sleep. the quizzes are impossible to do good on unless you hire a tutor or something! not stimulating or at least interesting at all. avoid his class!

He is really, really strict. His tests are the hardest I've ever taken, half essays and half problem. Toughest grader ever.
So monotonous and boring, you have to be a freak to stay awake. His curve is Ok if it werent there no one would pass EVER. Otherwise its OK to take if you dont mind a C theres a test every other week almost. He is a hard grader. AVOID IT!!!
Horrible clarity. Really acts like he wants his classes to fail. Curve BARELY helps. Multiple choice tests are very RARE.
This class is awful! DO NOT TAKE IT unless you want to barely pass this clas with a C. You will study for his quizzes more than any final you'll ever have! He's not very understanding either.

If you manage to stay awake in this class I congratulate you... The tests are extremely hard and sometimes dont even cover class material. Ive never seen the average test score be above an F so study and pray for your well-being... ALOT
not too hard of a class, BUT the 50 mins felt more like 3 hours- impossible to not want to kill yourself by the end of teh lecture, unless you like econ, in which case youre lying to yourself.

I was kind of unsure of my major before this class. After this class I decided to change my major. This class is the most boring class I've ever taken. His voice is very monotone, his tests and quizes are super hard, and he's not very helpful. DONT TAKE!!

He knows his stuff...only problem is, he doesn't know how to get the information through to his students. I spent the entire semester teaching myself! The quizzes aren't bad, it's the exams that get ya. Without the curve, the entire class would fail.

I wanted to tell everyone before they make the biggest mistake of their lives. The most unclear, unable to teach, anal, unimaginative, zero sense of humor,boring teacher in my years of school. I had to take this class. Run away.

Most boring and unclear prof I've ever had. Doesn't encourage class participation at all and doesn't care if students understand the material or not. Don't take this class even if it fits in to your schedule; it's not worth it!!!
he's an ok teacher..yes he is boring but his class is not that hard actually..just show up to class and you'll do fine on his quizzes which by the way he has posted his past semester quizzes online and it helps

This is the worst teacher I have ever had in all 3 of the colleges I have attended, and the other 2 were community colleges, If you take this class, you will regret it. Not straight forward, not helpfull, demeaning to students, ....

he's not so bad. his lectures are very boring, yes. just show up to find out what chapters to read because you just need to read the book. don't even need to show up to the class you signed up for unless it's an exam day.

One of the few professors I have that gives extra credit. The frequent tests are not difficult, but occasionally he wants the essay question to be far more specific than the question implies. Lectures are boring, but once you get to Ch. 8 they help a lot. Do the extra credit and you'll get an A.
Boring Lectures, But easy to get a good grade with extra credit and easy tests. Posts pasts exams online which are helpful to study with. Read the book and review notes before tests.

I lost respect for myself by staying in this class. From the first time he opened his mouth I knew to run in the other direction, but I tried to stick it out-that was a mistake. Real boring, real strict, real bad.
For dry clear eyes try clear eyes....yea thats what he sounds like. SO BORING. you will count the minutes until the class is over. Subject matter is so dry and boring but what else can you expect from econ. Kartman SUCKS!!!! Extra credit is available which is nice.
Kartman is great!! Just read the class material and go to his office for help..always willing to help; He is strict though and will not allow make ups if you miss tests..but overall he's clear and consistent....I would recommend him!
Kartman's class is boring as heck, and even though he usually teaches to the tests, it's not an easy A. I had to work my butt off for my grade, and stayinga awake in class is the biggest challenge. I wouldn't reccommend him, but if you do take him, use his online practice tests to study.
BORING. tests aren't that diffucult, not multiple choice tho. study for them. when he gives extra credit do it, b/c its like a chain you have to do the first one in order to do the rest. nice old man, but boring.
final is 9 pages long....very difficult ....mid terms are straightforward...

i have never in my life had a teacher who is as boring and uptight as kartman. I took econ with him only b/c it was the only time i could fit it into my schedule, but if i had to do it over i would have taken this class on weekends if it meant not having him as a teacher.
Wow, unless you have some sort of strange passion for econ RUN!! If you did before, you won't after this class. Tests are all essay (he always gave me like 2 pts out of 15 on, fill in, and vocab (you have to memorize all like 60 in each chapt cuz he wont tell you which 3 out of those will be on it

I don't even know where to start. He is the most boring teacher ever! I slept in his class everyday. Test aren't hard if you memorized the entire book, pretty much find another teacher if you can, you will make your life so much easier if you stay clear of him!

He is by far the WORST TEACHER EVER! He talks like the guy from the commercials "for dry sore eyes". He is NOT helpful and hates it when people ask questions. His tests are so hard, especially with the memorization of 200+ definitions, not to mention his IMPOSSIBLE ESSAYS! were not ECON PROFS KARTMAN!
Prof. Kartman is a very intelligent and good teacher, although his rhetoric is not very interesting (sometimes it is hard not to sleep). But you can get an A or B without much work - you just have to study before the quizzes and the exams (with the old exams and the book). Everybody who'll get a C, D ... is just lazy or stupid. Kartman doesn't make an effort to reword his expliantions when something doesn't make sense. He also dosen't make an effort to relate his math with happenings in the real world. You would think because of this he would try to come with a better attitude to class, but he also ruins your day with a monotone that will put you in a coma.
Kartman has not interest in serving his students. He spits back everything he has learned in the terms he learned. He does not reword what he is saying. If you dont understand he takes it as a slap in the face and doesnt want to give explanations. Dont take him if you dont have to.

This guy talks in a mono-toned voice and his lectures have absolutely no outline and his essay questions are impossible. APLIA can kiss my ass. Online text and online assignments are a waste of time and so is his class. STAY AWAY FROM HIM. If he's the only teacher u can take, don't take it and take summer school instead. His lectures are pointless.
A lot of people said he is really hard but I managed to pull off an A and im the worst at ECON...if you go to every class and take good notes...pay attention to when he says essay question b/c it will be one on the test youll be okay...its not impossible like they said and hes always in his office to help...cute old man lol

This class is really boring. You can pull off a c even if you do bad on the tests because of the curve. Do the extra credit because it really helps your overall grade.

Hard class with a ton of material to learn. Kartman will test on almost all of it. I recommend private tutoring on a consistent basis to stay on top of the heavy workload.
I did not have a hard time with this class. It is boring, but go to every class &study & you should be fine. You need to know a lot and the tests are every other week but he makes it very clear what will be on the test. He does a lot of examples of the questions for the tests and posts old tests online to practice with. xtra credit helps &he curves

Prof. Kartman is outstanding. He explains things clearly. For those who are interested in Econ and wish to deepen their understanding of the subject this class is for you. Those of you looking for an easy A don't take this class.
If you're willing to put in the time and effort to get a good grade this is the class for you. If Macro theory isn't your thing, or you want an easy A, you'll be miserable. KARTMAN IS EXTREMELY BORING AND OLD FASHIONED. I like that he does examples but he wastes time doing basic algebra. He extinguished my interest in Macroeconomics, glad its over!
This class is pretty difficult, and he doesn't make it any better. He doesn't offer any study guides or details on tests or quizzes. It's hard to study for the tests because there is so much info. and he doesn't tell you what to study. He's pretty boring to listen to also.
Mr. Kartman is a great professor. Very interesting class if you ECON major. He will help you to understand materials if you ask him. You need to read book and go in his lectures class. He is great professor.
To my surprise, I received an A from this teacher. I seriously thought I didn't do well but I think the main thing that helped my grade was attendance. He takes attendance every class session and if he sees that you are attending class regularly, he will definitely be lenient on your final grade. Do the study guide and take notes in his class!

He expects way too much, the book is awful and you have to read chapters atleast 3-4 times before you start making the needed connections. That's what he's all about, connections between curves and relationships of functions, and that isn't exactly underlined in the book, you have to just read and read, and make them yourself. Take someone else!
Extremely nice guy, very clear on the material. But the tests are so hard! He puts on too much stuff to be able to remember. I'm understanding everything, but getting a D on each exam. So is everyone else. Midterm 1 average grade 54/100. Midterm 2 average grade 60/100. He grades on a huge curve. The average grade on an exam is automatically a C.
Mr. Kartman is a great guy but this class is simply hard and there's always alot of material to be covered for the midterms. The cumulative final is really killer but the trick to succeed is READ. Read the sections before you come to class and the entire assigned reading at least 2-3 times before the exams.
I get A's in all my economics classes except this one which I failed. If you have a photographic memory, you'll do good. If not, join the rest of us. Tests are impossible as he expects you to remember minute details and math formulas from algebra. Online tests are useless. Avoid this class if you care for your GPA.
He's a little boring but pretty good at explaining the topics. The quizzes are easy, but the tests are ridiculously hard. If you answer a question correctly, but not word for word like he wants, it's wrong. It's frustrating, it's more important to memorize than actually understand the material. He gave me my first C at SDSU.

Mr. Kartman is old and sweet. He knows his stuff and tries very hard to aanswer questions and make things clear. The only problem is that the tests are practically impossible, even if you have a good understanding of economics. Make sure you get 100% on your homeworks, might be your only chance to pass.
he's tough for sure but he's really nice; will answer everything clearly. I ended up getting A in his class. it's a tough challenge all semester long. BUT to be honest this class makes me having a great semester because he challenges me intellectually. If you want learn something at school, definitely take his class. otherwise, STAY AWAY.
The class is tough as nails and you should be studying early and often if you expect to get an A. He's a very knowledgeable professor but the exams cover SOOO much material that it makes studying difficult. My suggestion: take the time to get 100% on each and every HW and use flash cards to memorize the vocab word-for-word. Attendance is a must!
we didnt take quizes but i know he did previously.his tests are all ESSAY, SHORT ESSAY, and GRAPHS. no multiple choice. hardcore vocab, went to offive hours but he's so smart that its intimidating to ask conceptual questions because he'll think u dont know your ABC's. i HAVE to go to lectures.
the book he picks is-as he put it "college material". It is hard to read and hard to understand without the lectures. Know that it is a hard class, and the only reason i got a C is because the rest of the class dragged the curve down to 40%=C.
Well, this teacher is old and speaks in a monotonic way. important stuff is that, he has 2 midterms and a final. midterms are all short answers, 5 definitions, and the rest are problems. final is cumulative with 100 multiple choice questions. Final is harder than the both midterms combined... beware of the class...
