He is a good teacher. THe only thing is that he doesn't give the class. He talks about everything else but speech. He focuses on how well you prepared for your speeches. Sometimes he is a little bit discriminative, but he is a nice person and wants to help.

Awesome Teacher, kinda gets off topic but knows what hes talking about, wants his students to pass and focuses more on speech quality and how well you prepared for them rather than tests and crap like that (HINT: I PROMISE you will be prepared for his tests)

This professor is awesome. Take him you will make an A and you will never fall asleep in class. His quizes are very easy and if you are prepared his test are also very easy. Although he does take attendence everyday.

He... yells... alot. He's just a loud person while teaching. Very fun and energetic though. Quizes almost every week strait out of the book, usually pretty easy. He gives you "reviews" before the midterm, which is really the test. Attendence counts, he usually lets you out early. Good teacher.

I absolutely LOVED Dr.T...he has been my favorite teacher at Richland hands down. He really tought me a lot when being in his class. I was nervous to go up in front of the class to do speeches in class, but he makes you feel so comfortable. He is hilarious and down to earth. He will make anyone smile and i highly recommend every1 to take his class.

One of my favorite teachers at richland. The class was challenging but in a good way. I felt very accomplished after completing his class. Dr. Thorton is very funny and makes the class feel comfortable before Speeches. If you want to get over your fear of public speaking take his class.

I took this class during the summer term. The class was enjoyable, and pretty easy if you simply prepare your speeches. The bulk of your grade will come from the 3 speeches you give throughout. Quizzes are usually take home, and the final is not bad at all (you get a good review). Attendance is mandatory, but class goes by fast. Easy A.

Hands down Best class and Prof. at Richland. The class is fun and interactive, and u actually end up learning alot either through the vocabs he gives u or the experiences and lessons he teachs. VERY good professor. He is interesting, and funny and keeps your attention so you actually learn in his class. He taught my MayTerm class and it didn't feel too rushed. His assignments are fun and you will NOT regret taking his class.

Overall, he was a tremendous help to overcome my fear of public speaking. His critiques of the students speeches were brutal, but honest, he'll give you the best constructive critisism. One of the best professors this school has.

One of the best classes I've had at Richland I love his sense of humor. My only complaint is I hate the way he grades the speeches its like he gives everyone around the same grade. Like this girl did horrible on her speech and made a 88 I did good and I made a 88

Best professor ever.Even though we didn't go over a lot from the book, it's still important to read whatever chapters he says, test are based on that but they are extremely easy if you do the reading. He is a great professor, very funny and interesting. Be sure to engage in class discussions. he might appear as if he doesn't care if you are late or you don't attend but he does! Tests are a little tricky, read the book carefully and 3 speeches which he grades strictly-one third of your grade so it is important! he is fun but also a little tough

Dr. Thornton is a very intelligent man whose teaching style seems to be very irrelevant in the beginning. In the end it all comes together and overall, it's an easy A. He has plenty of fun while he teaches.

He is ABSOLUTELY hilarious, very good looking, and has plenty of stories to tell! Easiest A as long as you DO the homework or he'll get mad, speeches were the only real grades, and he DOES take attendance! One or two tests..just do what he tells you to do, and you'll be fine! I would take him again just because!

This professor is excellent! He is very down to earth, great sense of humor, and highly intelligent. I recommend anyone to take this class, even if you don't need to! He is worth the money & experience. He is a valuable asset to Richland College.

Out of all the classes that I've taken, Dr. Thornton's was, by far, the BEST class Richland had to offer. He is passionate about his work, suave, good-looking, and interesting. I always looked forward his classes because he goes out of the box with his teaching-style. You have to be REALLY uninterested to fail his class. That man is INGENIOUS!
