Although I do say it is important to keep up with the work and stay on top of deadlines, I would say that the assignments were very helpful & once you get into the rhythm of the class its very easy! You will learn the difference between science and pseudoscience, identifying conspiracy theories and myths. Quizzes are weekly but only 5 questions. Be sure to read the weekly chapters and modules and you should be good.

In this course, you learn about pseudoscience, assumptions & biases, fallacies, how to improve critical thinking skills, evaluate sources of information, analyze arguments, etc. Professor Art grades in a timely manner so you can see how you're progressing. To pass just make sure to avoid procrastinating, ask for help, and complete the readings.

I think I have become more self aware and more observant about the things that are happening around me after taking this class. Best suggestion I could give to future students is to allot enough time for reading each chapters of the book. And take the quiz right after.

This course was completely online and asynchronous. We received a full week's worth of assignments and we were able to work at our own pace. Despite it not being in person, Professor Garcia was available for us to reach out to him with questions or anytime we need clarification on the topics being discussed. Great class. Relatively easy. Reading material is easy to understand. Professor provides stimulating homework to help you learn. The homework load is light. There are opportunities for extra credit. He is also very flexible and approachable, which is nice. 10 out of 10. I would absolutely take another class with this professor.

I got to learn a lot about myths and the detriments of pseudoscience and how to identify them in our everyday lives. The assignments are due on Wednesdays so be sure to plan accordingly. Personally, I liked to do the reading and the reading quiz in one sitting and then come back to work on the rest of the module for the week. Overall, a fun class!

Taken many psych classes and this prof is one of the harder ones. Still easy and doable compared to STEM courses for sure. Each discussion has a chance for extra credit if you exceed expectations, once you understand the rubric, you can redeem your grade from early blunders. Do not buy that insanely expensive book, find it on libgen.

He is straight-forward, friendly, and the assignments are very much manageable ! I had taken him initially for a Psyc 103 class and HAD to take him again when given the option for Psyc 220 (two of the easiest classes I've taken). He gives some pretty interesting readings that are easy to absorb and which you'll need in order to pass the quizzes.

Even though I took his course online, Garcia was not difficult and he was very thorough when explaining the assignments. The only advice I can truly give you, if you take his course online, is stay on top of your assignments.
