Mr. Arturo is the best math teacher I ever had. He makes the class easy. All you have to do is practice homework which is very easy, and an easy A is guranted. He is very helpful as well. He will go over if you don't underrstand, and he will even stay after the class to expalin. Just the best fords for him. He rocks!!!

Helpful but can still be confusing. His class is easy, homework isn't required but helps alot for tests and quiz. He does a lot of examples but his explanation can be a little confusing for new learners. Not the best prof I've had, but one of the best ones I've had for math.

Best math teacher I've had yet. As long as you do the homework and show up to class (because he explains things very well) you'll do fine. He actually uses blackboard, which is nice if you want to look up the test review questions the night before :) I highly recommend.

He knows how to explain his mathematics, helps the students out, is a really cool professor and is a very handsome man. He also lets you bring half sheets to tests and quizzes which helps a lot with all of the formulas, derivatives and antiderivatives which a student must know.

Had Art for 175. He's a good dude and really cares about his students. His lectures were easier for me to understand than previous instructors. He usually keeps you until the end of class, but lets you use notes on tests and quizzes, and gives you EC for perfect attendance. Bottom line: I'd take a Millan taught class again if I got the chance.

When he saids that this class goes fast pace, he MEANS IT. He's not the kind of teacher that does trick questions on his exams or quizes as if you studied your lecture notes and did your homework throughly, your guaranteed a general knowledge on what will be on the test/quiz. Allows notes for test which is a definite plus. Got an A, you should too

Compared to other professors like Manchester and Davis, I have to say that he is my favorite. He is very fair when it comes to grading and he lets you know what you need to study for. Don't hesitate to ask questions because it can help you...a lot. If u do all the hw, it will really prepare u for the quizzes and tests.

Good teachers always have a passion for what they teach. I can defiantly tell that Millan had that for sure. As for how "easy" he was, i think its more important that the teacher actually makes it easy to learn the material and because he made it simple to understand the class was made easy because of it.

Awesome Instructor. Took his class in Spring 09. It took a lot of work on my part, but I pulled that course off with an A. The 30 extra credit points i got for showing up everyday to class definitely helped. Very helpful, very clear, very concerned about making sure the students know whats going on. Mr. Millan is one of the best Math teachers at Grossmont. He is clear and very helpful. He uses Blackboard and will work with you. He is very smart. He does not move too quickly and not too slow, either. I wish all math teachers were like him. Too many go quickly and leave you in the dust. I wish he taught my 180 class right now! :)

He is a good teacher. The class is Kinda easy but it consumes a lot of work. He has 4 test the you can drop you lowest. In this class we basically had a Quiz or a test every single week. He got kinda behind teaching the class so we did not learn two chapters. He gives out projects and they are pretty easy and he lets the tutors help the students.

He's very smart and knows his stuff. I found him to be a bit too fast for me personally, but that's just me. I felt that I was well prepared for the final. He doesn't collect homework, but you MUST DO IT to succeed. Also, I think he grades VERY fairly. Projects were challenging and fun!

Attendance is not mandatory but you can only miss 3-5 classes or you will not get the extracredit points. Test and quizzes are easy usually every week. He helps a lot after class though. The final is so easy. I didn't do any of his homework and i did well. He is funny and cute. I recommend him defenetley

Arturo is the man! Was in his 176,180,280 classes. His Math/Teaching skills are razor sharp which makes his lectures easy to follow. Stay on top of the material ask him to clarify when necessary and you'll have a good understanding of the topics. Would be good 4 students if he taught 281 as well. Really good teacher. Explains the topic well, seems to care about the students learning experience, and is extremely reasonable with grading. As long as you do the work (or are a complete math wiz) you can get a good grade. Goes over EVERYTHING that will be on tests and quizzes, and drops your lowest scores. Highly recommended.

There are 40 E/C points possible out of a 620 point class. You do the math, but I absolutely loved this class and this professor. He made me love math, again.

Calculus sucks, but Mr Milan makes it worth it. He is intelligent and thorough and sets you up to succeed. He is tough but fair and is mostly concerned with you learning the process. AND HE IS THE HOTTEST!!

Had him for cal 1. he was a pretty foward guy. 5 tests (no drops) and 6 quizes. most of the quizes were take home and one of thoses quizes was extra credit. He grades way easier than any of the other cal teachers. Had a B the whole semester and turned out with an A.

Lectures are pretty long even though you get a 15 minute break. You have to be there all the time or else you'll fall behind and it'll mess you up for the upcoming test. Math 90 using ALEKs is extremely easy, work at your own pace, attendance not mandatory. He will help you with anything, and he increases test grades if you answered them wrong but your work on you note sheet is right. Notebooks are important but he doesn't not allow the use of notes or note card on the test.

Millan taught my math 090 class. I have never, ever, been good with math - and althought it was pass/no pass, I received a 95% and passed tests and quizzes with flying colors. He takes great time and consideration into explaining every detail of a problem, and got me to enjoy math for the first time in my life.

Just show up, pay attention, do the homework, do the take home quizzes, do the test reviews and study them to prepare for the tests, and you should get an A or B easily. Overall he is good guy and professor, I would take him again.

This teacher gives clear and concise lectures with notes that are purchasable on campus, makings it very easy to keep up with the lessons. Despite the amount of online homework, it well worth the practice . I ultimately enjoy this class for the well spoken lectures that are anything, but dull. Mr. Millan is very fluid in his teaching style.

Very sweet guy! He will help you with anything you need and is very nice. This class is NOT an easy A, you definitely have to work for it. All homework is through web-assign some assignments take a VERY long time. All homework of the section is due the same day as the test though. Reviews are usually 20+ questions, tests are 12 questions. Reviews are harder than test. Reviews are super helpful for tests. Gives extra credit for attendance. Homework was all online and was due on day of test. Hes caring and will help you out if you ask. All quizzes were take home - so easy A on those. You can average Bs on tests gets u an A

Totally awesome professor, I would definitely take him again. Taught the material well, sprinkled extra credit throughout the quizzes and tests, and encouraged students to stop by his office hours or the math study center if they needed any help. If you do all the homework and study you should have no problem passing this class with an easy B.

Millan's lectures are clear and everything in his lectures is in the tests and quizzes. There are no surprise quizzes and if there is math he has not gone over he makes sure to remove it or give credit for the misunderstanding. Arturo is one of my all time favorite math professors. I took him for math 110 and 180 (before covid). He's really caring. His lectures are really good, too. He assigns a lot of homework but the exams are usually a very similar replication of homework problems so if you do hw, you'll be just fine. Highly recommended!

Prof Millan was flexible and it was nice to see that he really cared about our quality of learning when we were forced to switch online in spring of 2020. He explains things really well in my opinion. The quizzes are a "take home" style, and he wanted us to be on zoom for exams. Overall great guy and prof.

Requires cam during quizzes/tests only. Cares about your grade and that you don't get left behind or left misunderstanding. Lectures are a little dry (its math) but it makes sense and is applicable to your quizzes/tests if you pay attention. He is always willing to help and is even flexible for attendance/exams. mr millan does his best to ensure every student can succeed and was my first college-level math class. purchasing webassign access for homework is 15% of your grade and you have 2 weeks per assignment. there are 7 quizzes worth 17%, 4 tests worth 50%, and the final worth 17%. he grades easy on tests and gives half credit to basically any answer

Good professor, the course is very hard if you do not focus and manage your time well, however he is always willing to answer questions and help, responds on canvas quickly as well and he grades somewhat light on tests and quizzes, just be aware that there will be a lot of quizzes and tests throughout the semester, with 2 hours of HW for lessons

Millan's MATH180 class is challenging but rewarding. Lectures may be dry, but he cares about student learning. Attending class and using resources like unstuckstudy can really help. Overall, a solid math professor.

Responds to emails fast. Gives partial credit on exams if you show your work. Lets you take home quizzes. Grades assignments fast so you know what your grade is (unlike other professors who take a month to grade assignments). Very nice and easy to talk to and gives extra credit if you show up to class on time. My grade went up 3% bc of attendance.

AMAZING PROFESSOR. He genuinely cares about students improving and learning math. I think some students get upset because he corrects them ( i.e. talking loudly during lectures, disruptive behavior, etc) He sets clear expectations and gives so many opportunities to succeed. If you fail his class, his solely due to a lack of effort on your part.

Very knowledgeable and knows how to present that to students that are barely learning the material. I skipped pre-calc and took calc with Professor Millan and not once felt like I made the wrong decision. Great at giving lectures and knows how to help students in a non-condescending way. Take home quizzes and 4 tests plus a final.

Well, the most I can say about this professor is he IS good. He's really kind and caring. The tests are definitely not as hard as people make them out to be. And the reason he expects you to know things is because he gives you so many resources. He has office hours, and when you don't understand something, will gladly explain. Highly recommended.

He's genuinely one of the nicest professors I've ever had. my class had an embedded tutor and he's also amazing. Millan is extremely incredible at calc and VERY passionate- he's also cool to talk outside of class! He's very understanding with any personal issues and offers a lot of support- with math too. If you pay attention well, it'll be easy!

Professor Millan is genuinely such an amazing professor. I have always struggled so much with math, and he explained it such a clear and concise way. He's clearly very passionate, cares about his students, and offers a few extra-credit opportunities throughout the semester. If you're taking calc, definitely take his class!!
