His class is no walk though the park, but if you are willing the put the time in, and do all the hw (which is a lot) you will get a good grade. if you don't understand anything then don't hesitate to ask him. he will be glad to help.

BEST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD! He is difficult with tests and grading but you'll really know your stuff by the end of the semester. He's always available and doesn't mind taking the time to explain things thoroughly. Arup is the man!

He knows Math exactly. He is always trying students to get good grade. There are frequent quizes, but if you just do your homework it will be easy. He is the greatest professor who I ever met.

Arup is a cool guy. He cares what grades you are getting in his class. Curves really nicely. If you do the homework and study a little bit each night you'll get an A. The tests have the same problems from the text, no trick questions or questions with weird forms. Good guy

I practically didnt study and I got a B- for the class. You must always listen in class though, this is when he teaches the material so you understand it. Quizzes are quite easy. Exams a little harder.

A great guy. He make seem mean/unusual but its just his culture and his way. A good person deep down and a great teacher upfront. He is not "easy" but he is a good teacher.

Mukerjee takes you step by step through calculus. He, like any professor, assumes you have your basic skills in algebra and trig; he focuses on the concepts in calculus. Always spends the right amount of time relating what was done in previous classes to today's class material. Take him!

Great teacher! Very clear and thorough with everything he teachers. he is very helpful. he gives a 2 or 3 question quiz every few classes, but they are easy, if you pay attention. take his classes he was a great teacher

If you need to take MATH114 take this professor! All those horrible comments were from students who didn't study the calc he taught. I am HORRIBLE at math but felt so comfortable in his class. He doesn't go over many questions in class but he is always there to help students out (email/office hours). Take him!

highly recommended. class itself is not easy & he tries to make it as easy as he can. lots of hw and a test every week,but its better that way bc at least you learn the material step by step. if you have troubles he will gladly work out the problem. he's very nice but if you don't take him and the class seriously he won't be that nice to you

Hard material requires studying. Online hw is hard and time consuming. His teaching method is helpful, as he separates important materials and refers back to them. Text is not needed, since relevant sections are included online so avoid spending over $100! Short quizzes every week can really damage your grade. Study hard, you can't BS this class.

Arup is the coolest guy. Ever. He is a great teacher and really helpful. If you aren't understanding something, just go talk to him. He may move fast, but he's there to help, and just wants you to do well in the class. My favorite teacher this year!

If you take this guy be prepared to do a very serious amount of work. there is hw every week, a quiz every week, two midterms and a final. he will help you if you work a lot. you need the book and all the hw is done in webassign.

Good guy - not as awful as everyone says on here. Not the best teacher but will try to help you if you see him. Really nice dude, enjoys class. Just do the webassign and you'll understand if you are struggling. Puts up examples on webassign. Definitely not the worst, but not my top 3.

THis guy is mad chill. I did not feel like he was rushing at all. When you wanted him to repeat something he gladfully did. All the homework and quizes are there to HELP. If he didnt assign all that homeowork I would have failedd every quiz. Show up work hard and you're golden

It seems that people who make comments about Prof Mukherjee decide to air out their own incompetencies !! He is one of the best teachers !! He is not easy (unlike many at MSU who I know make the course easy to get good ratings), but very knowledgeable --- he teaches the course -- for someone who wants to learn it

Let me say, this is class is very tough. You CANNOT miss any classes are you will not have a clue whats going on. Quiz and homework due every monday. If you want to be challenged, take this class. STUDY STUDY STUDY. I ended up with a B+ in the class, but thats cause me and a friend spent 12 hours the night before studying. Nice guy, tough class!

He has a really calm disposition, which is good for a teacher. I understood the material well enough when he explained it. However, the WebAssign aspect of the class is a little ridiculous-- it would take me around five or six hours to finish all the problems. Although, I'm a little biased because I LOATHE doing any sort of calc online.

This guy is tough to say the least! He doesn't take attendence but you cannot miss ANY classes if you want to know whats going on. He is definately willing to meet with students need help. This guy is the greatest Math teacher I have ever seen. If you can use the computer and are willing to come to class and do all the homework you can not get less than a B. He takes the quiz and test problems DIRECTLY from the homework, worked out examples in the book and the problems he does in the class. EVEN IF U STINK AT MATH TAKE THIS GUY!!!

I actually liked learning calculus this semester. By far the best math professor I've ever had! The quizzes are easy and so are the tests. Just show up to class and do the web assign homework problems and you're golden. He is really nothing like people say on here; lazy people who don't put any effort into math get bad grades. Great teacher!!!

This proffesor was rushing into diffrent concepts very quickly. he didnt want to stop even though majority of the class tried to slow him down. Try and avoid him if possible! Quiz Everyweek! and tests and crazy you have to be very accurate and do it the way he wants you to do the problems. (his methods suck)

He is a great professor. At the beginning of the course he told the class SPECIFICALLY the ONLY way to pass. If you take his advice in the beginning, you will pass this class with flying colors. GREATEST professor I've had so far! take him if you're willing to work hard for your education! You learn a great deal about good workstudy ethic!

Dr. Mukherjee definitely knows his stuff when it comes to differential equations. Even though we lost a good week and a half due to bad weather, I feel like a learned a lot from him. His lectures were always easy to follow and enjoyable. He clearly defined expectations at the beginning of the course. Two test and 4 class projects. Also very funny.

If you are serious about learning math and science, there is no one better to study with. Be prepared to spend 3-4 hours per week studying as the absolute minimum. The more time you spend applying the material from this course, the more you will get out of it. You will not hit D.R. If you miss class, you are missing the point of this class.

TWO HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS. TWO GROUP PROJECTS. MIDTERM AND FINAL. Read the book and do exercise problems or you will likely not pass. Is willing to help with exercises is you ask him enough.

His lectures were based on the book but he also did many problems from outside sources that were relevant to the lecture. I had to put in a lot of work as the class was mostly proof writing and I had never done proofs before. On the plus side, he is a very easy grader. There were times I got problems wrong and he would take off maybe a point.

Works very hard for his students, stays after school everyday to explain the material if you couldn't understand it in class. But he goes vary fast in his lectures and isn't super clear then.

Professor Mukherjee really wants his students to succeed. He'll explain how to do problems during his office hours. However, grades are mostly based on exams and a few quizzes so you have to really do well on them to pass the course. Otherwise, take him, he made calculus really easy to understand.

I took a Summer calc 2 course with Professor Mukherjee, and he is definitely one of the best professors I've had and he cares a lot about making sure his students do well. I'm shocked to even see negative reviews on this guy because of how great he was. The lectures can be confusing at times, but if you put in the effort, you'll be rewarded

I took professor Mukherjee during summer and he was very good at teaching. He cares about students and wants you succeed.He really emphasize on the basic aspects of calculus, he expects everyone to know and remember everything from calculus 1 because this class is continuation of cal 1. Overall, he is great professor.

Most of the quiz and exam questions were straight from the homework so as long as you do the homework, you'll be fine. He also gives partial credit which helps.

I've had him for Calc 3 and ODE, it honestly wasn't that bad. He's sarcastic and sassy but if you are struggling and need help he will be there for you.

Calc2 in 4 weeks is tough no matter who you take it with. Prof M made calc 2 a great class and super intresting for us, relating many topics to STEM fields. He is always there whenever you have a question and has plenty of office hours. Super nice guy too! Exams were vert fair, questions from hw and textbook. Im not a good test taker mine were 80+

Fractals were so annoying and hard to understand but he understood that it was a new concept for all of us. His hw assignments were physical packets and we had to take pictures to turn it in? Not the most ideal way to go about submitting hw. His lectures were decent and he tried to get the class to understand what he was teaching.

Professor Mukherjee is a great professor. His quizzes and tests questions come straight off the hw and lectures - (and they are the easier ones). Not alot of hw maybe like 10-20 questions average a week. tests and quizzes maybe 5-6 questions on them. Very knowledgeable and explains things good.

Professor Mukherjee has a unique teaching style, but if you're willing to put in the work, he can be a great resource. The lectures can be confusing, so make sure to use the textbook and take advantage of tools like unstuck AI for extra study prep. Overall, a challenging but rewarding class.

Don't listen to these other reviews, bro is low-key the goat, he is a very good professor, he may get a little lecture heavy at times but goes through examples with the class, he gives two midterms, four quizzes, and a final, everything is based from the homeworks and textbook, there are no tricks, he's a simple and cool dude. When I saw Prof. Mukherjee's reviews, I panicked and thought I was over for BUT I decided to stick it out. I am grateful I did, he isn't as bad as everyone says. Is he a great teacher? Ehhh, he's so-so, he does lots of textbook problems from openstax or edfinity which you'll see on his quizzes and tests. He gave us a free quiz too. Just study!
