She was a very helpful and considerate professor. If your looking for an easy A don't take her class. She knows her material, and you will learn as long as you do your homework. Go in with an open mind. Dont MEMORIZE MATH LEARN IT, this is not HIGHSCHOOL

She is a good teacher and knows what she is talking about. Her test are hard and rearrange to where you have to learn the material and not memorize it. Not an easy class, only take it if you want to learn, she will help you with any problem you have. Very nice lady.

Ashkani is by far the best math teacher I've ever had. I used to do poorly in math and I didn't understand the concepts. Her class has been my favorite for two semesters and I understand almost everything. I highly recommend any of her courses.

I enjoy this class and she helps me with everything I need help with and she is very willing and understanding. Jut keep up with homework and study like any other class and you will do fine. She is deffinately willing and helpful!

This professor is excellent this is the second math class I have taken with her! She is always willing to answer your questions and even stay late if necessary! Very smart and nice!

I enjoyed having a professor that laid it on the line but had a sense of humor how often do you see that in a math teacher! I am not going to say the class wasn't difficult you need to study and do your homework. the more you put in the more you will get out of it

Great teacher!

Appearently I have an uncommon view of this proffesor, but I think she does a pretty good job. It is a hard coarse but she tries to make sure that you understand the material rather then just know it

She is one of the best teacher I have had in mathematics and many say the same, but I guess the ones that have not done well post comments for her. She is a very smart, and caring professor, makes sure that you really understand the subject before she moves on. If you want to learn math, take her class.

she is an awsome teacher, she has a thick accient, but she tries her best to make her students understand what she mean and what she wants to say. she is very helpfull, do your homework and pay attention and take notes in class beleive me u'll be fine. I've took her twice and got "A" in my both classes. Good luck

She is a great teacher just cause her acsent is thick she makes sure her students understand what she is trying to say. I also think she is funny and easy going!!!!!!!! She is one of the best math teachers valencia has to offer.

I had previously taken Intermediate Algebra and gotten a D, this semester not only am I getting an A, but I am helping other students.

This is my first math class that i really understood how things worked out with math problems. Eventhough she has a accent, it does not matter becasue she tries her best to help you understand.

She speaks just like Borat, but she's easily understandable. She makes everything very clear and encourages students to ask questions. Ashkani likes to see students work hard, and that comes into play during grading. Only the tests are graded, so take her if you're a good test-taker. Attendance is not mandatory but VERY beneficial!

she's a grat teacher, you have to put your effort in evry assignment that she gives, class particiapation is mandatory because it makes the class much easier, you have to liste to her 99.9% of the time or you'll get lost, and the book is A MUST!!!!!!!!

Yes she has an accent but its nothing you can't deal with. She knows her stuff and is really helpful. I got an A so its possible. Don't let her accent discourage you.

ok, she is not a very good instructor. she tries to teach well, but overall does not do a good job. She is too smart to teach this math. she gets mad and raises her voice if oyu ask too many questions. She does not grade homework, but assigns it. her tests are nothing like the study guides or homework assignments.She sits to teach the class.

im not good at math at all and i actually thought i was gona fail the class but i kept studyin andi passed with a c. she is helpful and her tests are a big part of your grade. she tries to help by stayin after class. do the 2 labs b/c she wont let u make it up. at the end, they help u with ur grade.make sure u pay attention

I really enjoyed this professor. She has an accent but speaks slowly enough that you can understand her. I'm not a math brain, and I got a B on her class. Her tests are most of your grade, do the two labs, it really helps! xtra credit 4 going 2 the tutors, n has a tutor in class. She has a great attitude! n is easy to understand:)

I took this class for no reason cuz some stupid girl told me i had to take it and it was my first semester at valencia but i found the class really easy and i would have time to finish my hw in class. Most of the material you should already know from high school, and yes she does have an accent.

She was a very good professor I am actually taking her again for summer for college algebra. She understands what she is teaching and knows how to explain it. You must do the homework and there is only 3 tests and final so do well on the tests and labs. I would totally recommend her.

I thought she was a good teacher. She tried very hard to be clear and to make sure everybody understood. Her project killed my chance of getting an A but as long as you work together on the group project and don't procrastinate you'll be fine. She will help you if you need it. She is a very nice lady. ONE OF THE BEST PROF. I'VE HAD.....TOOK DURING THE SUMMER.....DIDNT BUY THE BOOK....HAS SO MANY EXAMPLES AND A LOT OF GROUP ACTIVITIES IN CLASS AND REVIEWS A LOT BEFORE TEST... 3 TEST 2 LABS AND 1 FINAL.....GOTTA 100 ON THE FINAL AND AN "A" IN THE CLASS.... I REPEAT I NEVER BOUGHT THE BOOK......WILL TAKE FOR MAC 1105 IN THE FALL......CLARITY WAS OK

DON'T BUY THE BOOK! She gives plenty of examples, labs are exactly like the tests. Anyone who says she's difficult must be going to class & sleeping. Go to class, listen to her lecture, do the labs & you'll get an A. Easy as that. She even lets you use a 3x5 index card on tests, come on people...oh and her accent isn't THAT bad.

Professor Ashkani is a very professional i9nstructor, she wants you to learn the material and will do anything to help you do so. i hate math and i got a 97% A+, i highly recommend her. 3 tests & one final which multiple choice and erases lowest grade

This class was easy. She is very nice and very helpful. This class is an easy A as long as you come to class, pay attention, and do the labs.

For the most part i enjoyed this class..so i will note just few things. #1 She is Iranian.not Russian.i see alot of the people who took her class got to know her...#2 You MUST attend her class on a regular basis and DO YOUR HOMEWORK..if not then yes you will fail. she allows index cards for tests and she goes over material until most everyonehas it

She expects you to do the homework and ask questions before she starts a new chapter. i learned more in this class than any other math class. the class is hard if you do not attend the class or not doing homewoks

This is not a hard teacher, she is very clear and breaks down what you dont understand AS LONG AS YOU ASK QUESTIONS. like the rest of us, she cant read minds. also DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!! She is one of the beat math teacher I have had so far. If you do not go to the class and on top of that do not do your homework, you better drop the class. You have to do your homework, and she allows students ask all the homework questions in the beginning of the class, I loved that. I enjoyed her class, she is an awesome teacher.

I see some prejudice comments here! "She has an annoying accent"?? Her accent is very charming, I wish I her accent, and I am a born Floridian and grew up here. She is an excellent professor. Take he classes, but do homework. Her class is one of the best classes for learning math,she covers the materials clearly and answers all the questions.

This professor is great in teaching and explaining information step by step. She always answers questions before she starts with a new section. She also gives a cool project. I enjoyed this class very much and I learned the material. I am in Calculus now and actually I having an easier time because of her class.

Class is simple. College Algebra. Attendance is not mandatory, but she appreciates it. There is also homework, alos not mandatory, but you should obviously do it, because it WILL help you. There are four major test and the final, and she drops the lowest test score. She is friendly patient, understanding. Highly recommend.

Professor Ashkani is a really nice lady, and her class is not that hard if students attend every class and do all the homework. She does have a accent which does not bother me at all because she is not a english teacher, and she explains everything pretty clear.

Professor Ashkani is an amazing professor. She explains the subject in detail, step by step. The lectures are similar to the homework. Her tests are somewhat difficult. If you do all the homework and reviews, it is not difficult to receive an A. She is there for you whenever you need help and very friendly. I had her for pre-calc and algebra.

Professor Ashkani was such a sweetheart throughout the entire semester. She gave help at any time and is flexible with dates. This was a mixed mode class so our lectures/exams were in person but the quizzes were online. She gives optional homework used for extra credit and her exams are based on problems we did in class. Overall amazing professor.

Straightforward class, self taught, with a SURPLUS of HW that is sometimes impossible to get a 100 on. Class was through Pearson, and you have to access it yourself. I took during summer, the due dates were flexible with 3 quizzes and 2 exams. You can work ahead, there are no lectures only links to videos.

As others have stated, she's not really involved with the course, and everything is done on Pearson. You have to teach yourself the material, which worked out for me. It's not that bad if you complete all of the assignments.
