Not very good instruction. Unclear with assignments and does not offer much elaboration on material. I know this is cliche to say but her accident is difficult to understand as well.
The teacher was never clear, her accent was pretty thick, she made many errors that students had to point out to her and she wondered why we don't do so well. She's pretty nice but needs to improve her clarity. If you don't remember what you learned from College Algebra, it's tough!!
CLARITY CLARITY CLARITY!!! I dont understand how she thought this would not be the most important part. In the beginning she was very nice but once I started having questions it all went down hill. If you know everything from College Algebra and it is ( not lying ) engraved into your head this class wont be too bad. Other than that...dont take it!
Difficult to understand, she is somewhat helpful if you ask. Tests are difficult! Don't miss out on going to class otherwise you WILL get lost!
She is noce person but the way she runs here class is unclear. You can't make up test or labs even if you missed the test for EMERGENCIES OR MEDICAL REASONS! I owuldnt take her if you're not that good at math because her expections and her accent makes this class rather difficult
ONE OF THE BEST PROF. I'VE HAD.....TOOK DURING THE SUMMER.....DIDNT BUY THE BOOK....HAS SO MANY EXAMPLES AND A LOT OF GROUP ACTIVITIES IN CLASS AND REVIEWS A LOT BEFORE TEST... 3 TEST 2 LABS AND 1 FINAL.....GOTTA 100 ON THE FINAL AND AN "A" IN THE CLASS.... I REPEAT I NEVER BOUGHT THE BOOK......WILL TAKE FOR MAC 1105 IN THE FALL......CLARITY WAS OK
Well, the teacher is not that hard.. her accent is very noticeable, but you will be able to understand it. I took it in summer, and i got an A for the class. I'm good in math, but i didnt think her tests were hard. She let me take the final two days early cuz i wasnt able to come. She is not the sweetest teacher but she is not that hard either..
She has a thick accent. Her class isn't that hard if you're good at math OR able to understand things easily. If your the type who doesn't like to ask questions during class, this class isn't for you cause she won't slow down unless someones tells her.
I used to love math and b super good at it. I never got a grade lower than a B on a test, but when I took Ashkani's class I began getting C's. Her tests are hard! Although she gives studyguides for them they do not help at all. She likes to do more trickier problems. If you want to flunk in College Alg. take this class !!
I took this course in the summer cram session, after being out of school for almost 10 years. If you want an "A" here is the deal: DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Ms. Aryan is all about business and if you show no interest she will move on. She is to the point AND makes you work hard. I would definitely take her again.
Whatever you do, don't take this professor. You'll barely understand her and the only thing she grades is the tests. If you fail at least two of them, you've already failed the class. Apart from that, she doesn't really give you much opportunity for extra credit and when she does, it's not enough to help you pass the class! Now don't get me wrong, she's a nice teacher but the way she grades is unfair to the student.
she will go over work until you understand, does not use online work nor does she check homework you have to do homework to pass her class. she is the best if you want to learn.
Mrs. Aryan don't grade your homework, that the good thing about it. However, you must do your homework in order to pass because it would help you, personally. If you don't understand something, she will help you until you do. This class is perfect for any math geeks out there like me. :D It's fun and..Dam, I love math! P.S. her quiz and test=EASY
This teacher is not for everyone. If you understand Algebra then she will be esay for you, if your not good in Algebra or 1033 Do not take her. I repeat..Do not take her, you will be in a world of troble. I had to drop her and take the following semester with Prof.Emmanuel. She knows how to teach. Ashkani has no teaching skills. you will suffer..:(
She knows what shes talking about but really keeps it that way. If you ask for help she gets frustrated and barely explains it at all. Her grading is also very difficult. Tests and reviews with no make ups or other types of grades make getting a good grade hard. Overall not happy I wasted my money to be taught by someone who dosent care.
This class can get pretty boring, the teacher has a strong accent and makes you take notes for most of the class. Shes given one take home test so far and the in class tests you can use index cards but since the tests have only a few questions, they're easier to fail. If you're decent in Math and have patience, take this class.
Dont recommend this teacher!
Least favorite class I've taken at Valencia so far. Her heavy accent made it harder for me to understand. Your whole grade basically depends on your tests which are very short, making them easy to fail. I've honestly never been good at math but I've never struggled so much especially after studying as much as I did for her tests.
she's ok, jus do her homework, and visit her if u do not understand. sometimes she isnt really clear and she can go fast, but jus let her know
The class is pretty straight forward. Show up for class, and keep your attendance up. She does a good job in class explaining things (does make mistakes from time to time) BUT tests are HARD, they are weighed extremely hard, since they're usually only 14 questions. Not to mention most of the time the questions are much harder than what you practice
Ashkani is an amazing teacher. She gives you 3 take home labs with a week to complete them. She doesn't grade homework but I highly recommend you do it cause she will go over in detail each question you do not understand. She gives you a study guide and reviews everything that is going to be on the test.Ask questions if you don't understand.A+
I really like this professor. we could ask our questions in the beginning of each class every day, and that is the best thing. She is clear and explains problems step by step. She is funny and kind teacher. She take time to help students in her office and in the class. Thank you professor Ashkani, you are the greatest.
She is a great professor. Her accent is very strong, but u can understand her. She explains everything very good.
This professor is a good professor. One of the first math classes I actually got a good grade (B) in! She will not go onto another section until she answers all the questions students have. She makes sure you have many opportunities for grades besides the tests. Heavy accent but she is understandable and at times funny!
I have had her for College Algebra as well as PreCalculus. She is amazing! She takes her time to help you whenever you need it, you just have to ask for it. She is AWESOMEEE!!!
A very nice person and a great teacher. GREAT!
If you don't like to work hard, and don't like to go to class, she is not for you. She expects you to act and work like a a college level student. She answers all the questions you bring to the class, and makes sure you have understood the information before she moves on. She is an amazing teacher!
She is an amazing teacher! She will answer any question you have on homework, and if you do the math lab review before tests you will ace every one :) High Recommendation!!!
She's a great professor, passionate about what she teaches and loves doing it. It's crucial to pay attention in class, try hw problems, and take notes. She gives reviews for tests so DO the reviews! Drops lowest test score (woo!) but has a BIG project that is a large portion of your grade. I would take her again! :)
Higly recommended!!! Great,Graeat Professor! Passionate, and excellent in making difficult concepts simple. She answers all the questions every day. She is nice and funny as well.
she is the worse teacher ever! DONT TAKE her if your want a good GPA. Im an A student, im good with math, and for the firs time in my life im going to fail a class thanks to professor Ashkani. She makes a lot of mistakes and sometimes she is annoying. PLEASE listen to me! DONT TAKE HER IN PRECALCULUS!!!
1)She simplifies and explains concepts clearly.2)She answers the questions over the assigned problems before starting a new section.3) She reviews for the test. 4) she helps you whenever you ask for it. I have come back to school after 5 years and doing well in her class. I never miss my classes and do homework. Excellent professor!!!
I love her methods of teaching. I am good in math, but she makes the class interesting. I agree with the person who says she makes the concepts simple and interesting and she keeps you sometimes on your toe to challenege yourself. Great style of teaching! Great teacher!
She sucks. She said that if you do all your notes, homeowrk, and study for tests that its easy. Its not at all I have done all 3 and gone to the math tutor and still nothing. She teaches easier things then what is on her tests which are basically your only grades. Se is nice I just don't like her teaching style. Never had problem with math til this
Shes a very nice professor. Yet her test are VERY hard. they consist of oONLY 10 questions. +2 graphs. 1 group project and 1 accumulative final. If you do not understand math to its fullest do not take her. She has high expectations yet shes reasonable. YOU WILL WORK HARD in this class. if you dont want to work, dont take her.
Okay! So Ashkani is a nice professor, but seriously get ready to learn on your own. DO YOUR HW & get a textbook! Math Depot will be your BFF! Other than that, study study! Shes super nice, but IM SERIOUS STUDY.
I learned a lot from Mrs Ashkani about precal.. She explains things thoroughly. The negatives are... her tests are harder than they need to be , most of the questions are not what she reviewed or they are made super challenging. She never grades hw. Group projects brought up my grade and extra credit. Only take her if you are a genius in math.
She is a great professor. I learned a lot from her. She is not hard, but she expects everyone to do homework and get help before each test. She simplifies the concepts and does different activities to make sure we have got the information. I chllenelf a few times in her class. She is an amazing teachr!
She is a nice person, but a very bad teacher. Her accent is way to trongand her teaching methods suck.
She is a great dedicated awesome teacher. The best teacher I had. Do your work in her class. I highly recomend her.
Best class ever! Learned a lot, and I do not like math.
If you took that class by now , I will suggest you to drop from this class. If you wanna stay then don't do any HOMEWORK, bcz she don't check and she grade home work. All her grade is about the test. If you fail test then you will fail the class. The most important thing is you will never understand what she is taking about (her accent).
if you like to fail, then take her class
She is a great teacher. Those who give her a bad review are the lazy ones who do not do homework. Everybody knows the result of not doing homework! She explains every topic with deligence and many examples. She answers all the questions. Loved her class, and I will take her next semester for Precal. She is very smart and amazing teacher.
I have never been excited to go to any class, but I was excited to go to her class. She is a great teacher and very smart. She is funny and caring, tries hard to help everyone. She is not hard, but you have to do homework in her class if you want a good grade. I loved her class this semester. Fabulous and informative class!
I would not recommend taking this class, if you are 1. a visual learner 2. dependent 3. Not so good at math. The curriculum itself is not difficult. She only gives three test each 12 question and 1 project so you don't have a lot of space to mess up. Her reviews are not like the tests so you need to understand more of the general concepts.
Her English was not only hard to comprehend, but she was not a good Professor. She expected you to know what you did not based on your age and Math level. She was nice to talk to, but not a good Professor for those struggling students.
Omg horrible teacher. Her accent was too much, you couldn't understand what she was saying sometimes. She would get upset if someone didn't understand and asked for help. She NEVER post your grades at all. I was able to pass her class but I wouldn't recommend her. Shes a horrible teacher.
Horrible professor! Doesn't help, and if you have a question, might as well just go to the math depot because she won't answer it. Doesn't answer emails. Only has 4 tests and the final and they are only 12-15 questions, so you miss one and you're screwed. Just overall a horrible class.
WORST TEACHER EVER! I am a straight A student and love math but her class is impossible. She does not explain anything clearly and is all over the place. Her tests are only 12 questions and half of it is nothing like the study guide or anything she went over. One of the lessons she didn't even teach us and was still on the test. DO NOT TAKE
If you missed registration, just wait. Hard of hearing and do not count on her to see your hand up. Makes mistakes where it counts. Never got a B in a math class before this one. The only reason for this now is because I spent hours at the math depot (which is PACKED; FULL OF STUDENTS around final exams) asking them about the homework questions.
Now let's hear it from someone who got "A" in this class. This was my hardest "A". She helped me many times when I did not understad something, I just asked her my questions, and you have to do the same. I enjoyed this class, challenging, but reasonable and not impossible. Great professor, and I recommend her.
I did not do homework in the beginning and I did not do well in two tests. I worked hard in exam 4 and final, and I passes the class with a"C.She gives you the opportunity to ask questions before a new section, ask your questions and do homeworks. I recommed her class highly.Great professor! Good class!
Great class, great professor, highly recommended.
I've had way better math professors. I dislike her way of teaching, she just writes the problem but not the question as to what to solve. Her voice is VERY monotone. She does however answer any questions. You have a project, yes that's right a project in math. STUDY!! If you want to pass you need the book.
She is a caring professor, helps you in every way if you ask for her help. She has a certain standard that you have to follow if you want to do well in her class, but she is a great teacher and you learn in her classes. I enjoy taking classes with her, this is my second course with her and I am loving it.
She has a horrible accent which makes it very confusing to understand whatever she says. There is no homework so your grade is based in 4 test and 4 quizzes. If you ask her to explain something you will end up more confused. She also skips some sections on the text book and then she goes back to it.
Horrible teacher! Reviews are nothing like the tests. She actually had us review the wrong sections for the final. Don’t bother asking about homework problems you will only end up more confused. When she realizes she has made a mistake during an example she will stop not admit she screwed up and tell you to finish the example at home. Avoid Her!
Hopeless
Sweet, caring, gret, but not easy.
Her accent made it very difficult to understand what she was saying. She was not consistent in her grading, and made many mistakes while teaching. She does not use blackboard, you are left wondering what your grade is in the class.
Enough about her accent already. She is one of the best professor I have ever had. I have taken three classes with her and I love the way she teaches. Do your work and be nice, she will do whatever it takes to help you, be irresponsible and rude, she does not respond well.
She is an awesome professor. She is caring, and a very nice person. She is funny too.I enjoyed her class and learned a great deal in her class. Her projects are great tools of learning in depth.I wish she would teach Calc 1.
She an awesome professor, very caring and understanding.
She is great, but not easy. It seems that people expect or feel entitled to receiving good grades just by showing up and doing the bare minimum. Regarding her Final test, it was EXACTLY like her review. It’s so easy to point the blame at someone for your deficiencies or lack of work ethic, instead of looking in the mirror.
She explains very clearly all her lectures. The homework isn't mandatory (is nothing like the tests anyway) DO THE REVIEW and actually review it and you'll pass!
She has a heavy accent. If you don't attend class and participate in problems and ask your questions you'll get lost. There's 3 test the while semester. She won't help you out of class, she'll say go to the depot. Just be involved and she'll take kindness to you.
Somewhat of an easy class kind of confusing at times. Doesn't grade homework but reviews homework questions students have trouble with then goes into a long boring lecture of the chapter. Gives a "study guide sheet" (aka lab) a week before the test for credit. Tests are basically like the study guide, maybe shorter and easier. Beware of her accent!
Her accent is pretty thick, but once you get over it the class will be okay. Pay attention and at least do some of the homework and you'll be fine. Understand what's on the study guides and the tests won't be bad.
Seriously the WORST math teacher in history. This lady does not know how to teach at all. The whole class is only about test a presentation and the final. No extra credit opportunities and she for dam sure dont help out of class. Because of her im not graduating this semester.
She gives a lot of homework that you don't actually learn in class. I completed each homework assignment and ended up not understanding half of the lab she gave us. And when "review" time came around she did four problems from one out of five sections that was on the test. Do not recommend if you aren't a math genius already.
Professor Askani is a great professor. If you do all your homework and ask questions when you do not understand something she is there to help you. Also study! There is no reason not too pass the class if you do your part. I would recommend her to any student.
She's a great professor, and makes her expectations known up front. Do your homework, pay attention in class, and put a little effort in, and get an A. I took this class to make up for a previous C in 1999; still an easy A+. She's helpful, explains the simple route, and respects her students like adults. Highly recommended!
She explains the concepts by giving examples so it can be difficult to understand, you may need to practice more than usual. She is always willing to help a student with problems after class and she's is really nice.
She's a really nice teacher. Has a heavy accent and can be hard to understand. She gives examples as notes and it can be hard to understand so you will need to do a lot of practice to get the concept. Tests are hard and she doesn't teach you all the material that is on the test. She never puts in grades on Black board so you don't know if you pass.
She is a great professor, but not easy ! You have to work hard for a good grade. She answers all your questions in the beginning of each class, and explains the concepts very clearly. She is super smart, with a sense of humor. She helps you if you ask her questions. I recommend her strongly.
I took this class last summer. Yes, it was a tough class, but it is calculus III. I expected to be tough and I made sure to go to class and do my home-works, I ended up with a "B". It was right on the target. I am an older student, and I know how it is. So what, If you are smart, you still should do the home-work If you expect an "A" in a course!
Tough Grader! your points can drop down fast! Her project grading unpredictable! She assign you to a group, then at the end of presentation she starts asking students who did more work? who did less work, so if a student acted weird and selfish, she most likely believe that and drop your grade! She use the project to play with your final Grade!
Some of the reviews for this professor is very underrated. She is one of the best professors I have ever had. She challenges, works with you and inspires you. I got A in her class, worked hard for it but at the end did worth it. I will take more classes with her, she is amazing.
If you ever wondered why Ashkani is so bad at teaching math it's because she is NOT a math major. How does that even happen? She reads out of the book so if you did not understand the book then there is no reason to attend class. Nice lady, but horrible MATH teacher. Please, take another professor.
I have had two classes with her, worked very hard in both and I learned as much as I could to do very well in my calculus I. She is an amazing professor. I am planning to take her for my calculus III in the Fall. Some of the negative reviews are self reflection of people who search for easy. I had great experience, and highly recommend her.
This is a site that should help other students to know about a professors in a college, so please do not lie because you have failed or about to fail in a class. I have never seen this professor read information from a text. She is one of the most knowledgeable professor with solid engineering background. She is great. I had three classes with her.
There are a few thing that I like about this class. 1) Her style of teaching, she explains everything step by step. 2) her lab assignments /tests are similar. 3) She cares about you and helps you to understand if you ask her questions. 4) Very nice person, and I am telling you, if you are polite, you have an edge.
If math is definitely not your strong suit then try someone else, she's teaches kind of fast so you shouldn't miss a class at all or you'll be totally confused. Your grade is 3 tests and a group project. Nice lady, but again, if you usually struggle in math try someone else.
Okey for those who has to take Cal 3 I will let you know that Cal 3 it's not easy , but professor Askani will do the best and teach you the most important things that you must know But the most important things , is that you must follow her recommendations do the Homework... homework ...++more homework, she is very nice and respectful person
Her class was challenging, but she is there for you. She is an amazing teacher and nice person.
Ashkani is a professor that I will never take again. I went to the Math Depot every week and still failed her class. Her test reviews does not match the test or even correlate whatsoever. If you think about taking her DON'T, and she has a very THICK accident that made it hard for me to understand.
I like the teaching method (sits a desk, does examples), what I dislike is that she does not answer emails and the 30 lab hours required. Its 30% of the grade!! That was difficult because I did not need help most of the time so I did not have any reason to go to the lab. But I had to get 30% of my grade, so getting hours was torture.
SHES NOT A MATH MAJOR ! She's unavailable after class, she skips steps, her thick accent makes it hard to understand her. On top of all of that she has nerve to be a tough grader. You can miss her class, she doesn't take attendance. But then if your not learning anything and you don't get credit for attendance then whats the point?
She is a great professor. She teaches clearly step by step and expects you to do your homework and participate in the discussions. She is not an easy teacher, but very fair. If you are looking for someone to give an easy A, she is not the one for you. As she always says, you have to know what it takes to be a college student and succeed.
Good class, like the way she teaches.
If math is not a strength you have look for another professor now. We were told to teach ourselves the course pretty much and everyone except one person received an A; everyone else except that one person received an F. Very tough professor to follow and her accent does not assist in the attempted lecture she gives.
She is a good teacher and repeats instructions when you don't understand. Is clear about what is on the test.
I love this teacher. She teaches step by step, makes sure everyone understands and she is funny, and caring.
I'm good in math, but Ashkani's class made me miserable. Her pacing was terrible- we covered 1 section twice, and toward the end, we were so behind that she tried to teach most of the material for a test in 1 day. There's a group project that's 20% of the grade. You'll need the book- all HW problems are from there. IMO, Kahn Academy is a safer bet.
Positively different, challenging, great class! I enjoyed this class, best math class I have taken so far.
I am a DE student. I had a perfect score on the math portion. I can understand material, outside of this class. She made an easy course feel impossible and I dreaded this daily. 6 grades total, then a final. She stopped taking attendance mid semester. She spent A LOT of time on HW review. One math lab visit helped me more than she did all year.
Go to the math depot if you have her as a teacher lol. Her pacing is disorganized
This class is mostly just her sitting in front of the class writing down numbers. She does not explain anything but expects you to be able to finish her homework with no problem. Doesn't go over anything you have a question about and tells you to go to the math depot instead.
Professor Ashkani is a great professor. She is the kindest and nicest teacher I have had.
She is pretty unorganized by the end. She says to "go at our own pace" but then rushes at the end. There is extra credit. There will be one group project which is a presentation. There are 4 tests and 1 final. She forgets easily and we accidentally redid a chapter lesson?? Yeah you have to remind her.
If you are a serious student, she is your kind of professor. She explains everything steps by step, she answers all your questions, gives you a project that you can learn so much from it, I loved her class and recommend her strongly
this was my most fabulous class by far at Valencia. She cares if even one student is lagging behind, she helped me to make the right decisions. Awesome professor, love her dearly, you cannot find anyone better than her. And to those that think differently, search it in your shortcomings.
She gives three labs to practice a few days before each test which are very helpful, similar to tests. You can work on the labs on your own, or with others. You can also go to math depot. If you do it right in her class, easy A is possible. Do not miss any class, you are good to go.
She cares, explains really good, and she is really funny. Great professor.
I came into her class after I had already taken about 5 different math courses in high school, so her class was easy for me. If you are not the best in math, I would not recommend taking it with her. I ended up helping my peers instead of her. She is hard to understand with her accent and easily forgets what she taught us.
She asks what she she needs to go over each session, because she wants to make certain to answer all questions, not because she forgets. She always says she covers the materials according to the pace of her classes. She explains everything in steps, I like the way she teaches. This was my second class with her,I have already registered with her for
I took her for Pre-Calc and got an A. The class is easy if you have a good math background. I had taken Pre-calc and calc at my highschool and took this as a refresher (I'm in Dual). 3 test one final, test 3 has a take home portion, hw is optional, I recommend visiting the math depot before a test , many who were confused in class said it helped.
Shes amazing! Explains everything step by step and if you dont understand she will make sure you understand everything. Theres a test every week but its all for your own good. If you want to pass her exams SOLVE THE HOMEWORK
Get a diff teacher! She is so unorganized! Barely even takes the time to answer questions. A girl asked a question in class bc she didn't understand & the teacher literally said "I'm not going over that again". She does't even grade hw but expects it to be done. Only grades 4 labs & 4 tests that are all weighted the same, can't mess up or you fail.
She is an amazing teacher! This is a challenging class. She explains everything in a clear way, if you attend the class and do homework, you will be fine.
Nice person but not very good teacher. Don't take this class if you're bad at math and reliant on teacher to help clearly explain material. Struggled and was at math lab all the time. Prof is disorganized and ended up confusing us more than helping. Many students dropped. I didn't learn a thing tbh. Difficult extra credit too!
Her class is really easy. I personally think she teaches at a slow pace and I took her class for summer B term. She gives you labs that really do help with the tests and she will bump you up if you are a point off to the next letter grade, however, she will not bump a 99 to a 100 and I know this because she did not do that for me. :( lol.
If you're stuck with her hit the math lab as much as you can.
I am a good student and have some learning problems, I work hard. Her class was the first class that I could make real sense of what she was teaching. She is a great teacher in clarifying things that are not easy. I enjoyed every minute of her class. I do not understand how some students are critical of her. She is an awesome professor and kind.
She only grades 3 labs and 3 tests plus the final exam. If you fail the tests your grade suffers. She does drop the lowest test grade if you pass the final. Her accent is thick and her words are fast. If you ask to explain she be getting mad. She loves to confuse you by showing you the hardest way to solve a problem. She is forgetful.
She is one of my favorite professors. There were a few times that I could have skipped but went to the class mostly because of her way of teaching. I highly recommend her.
I loved, loved, loved this professor. She is great and everything is very clear. Just go to the class and do your homework, you will be fine.
Half of my class did not come back after break. The way she explains things is difficult to understand which resulted in a low grande for everyone, she still gave us lots of point for free just to help us pass. Paid 110 for mymathlab and did everything and she didnt put it bc it would have lowered my final grade (drops lower test score)
One thing I immediately noticed is that her method of "teaching" is simply rewriting her notes and explaining them while rarely making eye contact with the class. All lectures are simply cramming notes; I easily end up with 5-6 pages every class. I typically don't learn any content from her and have to rely on youtube videos to understand the work.
She makes you work for it, but she is very clear. She teaches step by step, available to answer questions. I am enjoying her class and I have noticed that if you keep up with her and the homework then you don't have any problem with the materials. I enjoy going to the class every day.
Never answered e-mails, switched deadlines around with no warning, never clarified what was on the mid-term, and her Canvas is literally blank with no videos, discussions, explanations so youre basically left on your own. Multiple people withdrew immediately. Unless you want to be left in the dark with questions, please take her. Guaranteed F+!
Professor Ashkani's class was not that hard, but trying to deal with her was. It was hard to reach her via email, and even then she never responded with much. In addition, she does not explain much about the class, and gave us a group project with no hard copy of what we needed to do for it, only a rough description via word of mouth.
She explains things step by step in a very clear and easy to understand. I enjoyed her class, and learned a lot in this course. She is a very caring professor. You have to be an active learner in her class, then you will be fine.
The professor is caring, prompt in responding emails. She helps you with your questions. I recommend this class highly, nicely structured and easy to follow. If you need someone to push you to work on your assignments and quizzes, this is not for you.
There are three members of our family including myself have taken different classes with her, we all think that she is an amazing professor. She responds to your emails quickly and in a caring way. People who complaints are the ones who reflect on their own mistakes of not doing it right through out the semester. Venting is fine, lying is not!
The only way I passed this class was by going to the Math Lab. (If you go, you'll get extra credit.) Class wasn't hard because she would just regurgitate the exact problems from the book onto the board. She doesn't grade the homework, but it is good practice for the tests. There are 3 Labs, 3 Test, & 1 Final. Your lowest test grade is dropped.
Calc 3: Full tuition price, full credit hours, literally 0 instruction. Currently taking this class online in 2020 and I have yet to see or hear this professor. There are no lessons or instruction. She posts khan academy links or other videos often lacking in examples similar to homework. Khan academy is free, I shouldn't be paying $400 for links.
I literally took her AND she did NOT post lectures or anything to help you understand the information. She's not good at doing things online and you literally have to understand the material yourself. if we stayed online next semester DO NOT TAKE HER.
Due to COVID classes ae online, checking your emails are super important she does not remind you about your assigments that is all on you. Her work is easy and she is a good teacher. She does not extend work so be on top of it.
I enjoyed this class. It was an online class, but she helped us by reminding us and giving us an extended time period of taking the test. She replied to her emails promptly and clarified what we needed to do. Great Professor!
She is a caring person. She is quick in responding your emails. She remind you of almost every set of assignments, quizzes, tests' dates. Sometimes too many emails are sent as reminders. She cares when you have a problem, listens and most of the time if you have a valid reason, she helps. I like her class and I will register for her future classes.
This was an online class. She provides different lecture videos, options for Web Assign, and lecture summaries. There are 3 major exams and 7 quizzes. She omits two lowest-grade quizzes. I liked the structure of this class, tests contained long questions that required knowing your stuff to do well in them.
Good professor. I don't have complaints about her teaching style or how she handles the class. I would retake it. I recommend this professor.
So aryan will assume that you watched the online lectures she posted before class. She also does not post grades at all. Halfway she finally posted some grades. It doesnt help that in general algebra she messes up in class ALL THE TIME. I Proof read the examples because of this. This kind of negligence goes for her hw and quizzes.
She submitted my first grade 1 month and a half in. Didnt give any answers on hw or quizzes until there was 20 days left in the class. links are provided for 90% of instruction. Literally STAY AWAY if you care to get any credits at all. This is post covid and in person. STAY AWAY
She does not remind students about anything that is due. You basically teach yourself and do not hear from her throughout this course. She does not care for her students and is not understanding with any work. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!
I have never in my life failed a math course up until I took this class specifically with Professor Ashkani. The are 3 tests that are worth 70% of your grade. There are probably 40+ homework assignments that 1. do not correlate with the material and 2. do not ever get graded. DO NOT take with course with Ashkani if you actually want to learn!!
She doesn't put a single assignment or due date on canvas, all her emails are incredible passive aggressive and she really doesn't do anything for this class since all the mathlab lessons are premade and graded by the system and the videos for her lectures are not even hers. I would not recommend her to anyone, save your money.
Could not understand the way she taught! . Would not recommend .
This professor is extremely unorganized and a terrible educator. Many people have already complained about her teaching style being very difficult to learn from. The students would have to correct the professor multiple times during her lessons, which was embarrassing. The way she would talk with some students was unprofessional and out of line...
Class was very hard to follow, many times during class, at the end of the lesson the professor would briefly go over what to expect for the homework, which could vary between 20-60 questions each assignment. Homework was expected to be completed to know what's going on without ever teaching first. SUPER test heavy, grades everything very late.
She is a tough, but fair professor. I learned in her class better than all my classes in the past.
If you are not the best at math and rely on the help from your professor then DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. She kind expects you to understand after she presents it once. grades HARSHY. The tutoring center helped me more than she did. the worst part of all is that she grades on the LAST DAY. you don't know your final grade till then. Never again!
I throughly enjoyed this class with this professor. She explains the material in a simple way that is very easy to understand. She cares about her students and is always available to answer questions or provide additional help. There are 3 exams and a homework assignment for every week. Overall a great professor & your should choose her!
She's a good teacher, and she's also somewhat fast paced. She does expect you to do your work and pay attention, but she also does cut you some slack, like allowing one index card of notes on the test to help you out. She is a good teacher, at the end of the day.
Had to teach myself the entire course. You don't get to keep your past quizzes, tests, and inclass examples but similar questions from quizzes would appear on tests! Solutions to quizzes and tests in class would be done very quickly and you werent allowed to take pictures/write the solutions to the questions. needlessly challenging course structure
This teacher did not benefit me personally. I struggle in math and need a lot of help when understanding it. She was not that type of teacher. She will expect you to know the material ahead of time and does not give back homework or tests so you can see how you did. The textbook was a lifesaver and a way I could see my mistakes step by step.
assigns a lot of homework.
If you want to keep your sanity, please don't take this class. The professor has 3 assignments and 3 tests plus for the whole year. Her "homework" assignments aren't even graded. I honestly would recommend to just withdraw go to another professor, the professor is very snobby and isn't my help at all. Save your time and money and withdraw.
Took during summer, (fast paced) and it was on Pearson, completely impossible to get a 100% on the homework! There were only 2 exams but lots of homework due 11:00PM, and all of the material is self taught, no lectures provided. It is possible to pass as long as you spend hours on the material.
Professor Ashkani has a specific teaching style that works well if you engage with it. The lectures are helpful, but you'll need to put in the work - read the textbook, attend study sessions, and use tools like unstuckstudy to prepare. It's a challenging class, but worth it if you're willing to put in the effort.
yall js dont take her class.
If you prefer keeping your sanity, don't take her class. Overall this professor worked very quick through examples and notes in class with little explanation on topics and before every test expect up to about 13 pages of math homework, a separate 20-40 question lab, and you're expected to spend an hour every single day in the tutoring center.
No retakes, no reminders, zero communication, passive aggressive, A horrid amount of busy work for no reason because it dosent even matter to your final grade, doesnt grade till the end of the semester, no syllabus, she uses random videos to teach you, 60% of your grade are two test, 20% quiz, and the other is 20% homework which is 90% of your time
Doesn't post notes, Doesn't have any hw only 3 grades has a strong accent and incredibly rude if you ask questions on materials. This course is self taught and with only 3 grades you fail on exam withdrawal immediately. She doesn't care if you pass or fail because she believes it's your responsibility to pass
She doesn't give students time to understand and expects everyone to review and solve it ourselves after she goes over it once. Her lectures aren't very descriptive on notes to copy. Her accent is heavy and the grades are Heavy on Exams, don't recommend if you aren't good at math. Extra credit is rarely given and does little to nothing for you.
Don't take this class. The professor assigns random YouTube videos and doesn't respond to emails. No grades are posted, even at the end of the semester. Due dates are inconsistent sometimes 11 p.m, sometimes 8 p.m. with no warning. The class is disorganized and frustrating.
Ashkani is an effective teacher her class his relatively quick and somewhat organized from when I took it in the spring. She work with me despite my difficulties in mathematics. Her labs are quite similar to the tests and homework is extra credit. She skipped over certain sections of some chapters, but never put them on the test. She is alright.
Terrible experience, stay away from this teacher at all cost if you want to pass math. Everything everyone said on here is correct. I unfortunately waited until the middle of the semester to drop the course because I thought I could learn it on MY OWN. Yeah.... no way that was going to happen. Waste of my time, money and benefits.
Biggest waste of time. Only take this class if you 100% want to fail
