Very helpful, but not an easy class. She definitely wants her students to succeed.

Gave extensive amount of her personal time to "Online Chats" to help students grasp! Very hard subject, but she did everything in her power to make it easier for us to understand! Didn't use book! She genuinely wants everyone to learn, and she puts an amazing amount of her own time and energy into it. I've rarely seen professors who care so much about their students. Bonus, she's cool: her stories are funny, she's witty, youthful, and easy to talk to.

Asha Brunings clearly has a devoted love to science and exudes it upon her students which makes her class very enjoyable. While I found the class to be somewhat tough because of the amount of material, she is more than willing to go out of her way to help you with anything. She inspired me to become a better student. Asha is a very amazing teacher. As everyone can agree, she helps you with anything you might not understand and gives forgiving grades and second chances to those who need it. Great teacher, easily my favorite since attending Santa Fe courses. The course is intensive, but not difficult if you have a moderate background in chemistry and/or biology. She wants her students to succeed and her grading process shows it. However, for some sections the level of memorization is difficult. Study and you will earn your grade.

I LOVE THIS TEACER!! She tries her best to make it as easy as possible to get a good grade in her class. 5 pt Quiz in every class graded on the material in the previous lecture. She only takes the highest 20, drops all the other lowest ones. She gives you A LOT of extra credit opportunities & easy assignments so her class isn't based only on tests.

Asha is one of the best professors I have ever had. While microbiology is not an easy class, she does her best to help you achieve the best grade. She is passionate & extremely fair, with a great sense of humor and personality. This is an intensive subject and while she is a wonderful professor, it is up to you to stay on top of the work/projects.

Summer course is no joke! Quizzes everyday, but well worth it because it makes you study everyday. the Test are fair and she is very willing to help you if needed! Great professor:)

Seriously the best teacher I have ever had. This class is tough. I took it during the summer session and you can't study a few days before the test and learn the material. STUDY EVERY DAY for an hour or so. Thats how I got an A. She really knows her stuff and makes the subject super interesting!! She is amazing and I wish she taught other classes.

Proffesor Brunings is a great teacher. She really knows microbiology and how to explain difficult concepts. If she taught other courses that I needed I would definitely take her.

She is an amazing professor and is so excited about what she teaches, which in turn made us excited about what we were learning. Her labs were a lot of fun and extremely interesting. You have to study though, you can not just take this class for granted.

I can't say enough about how awesome Dr. Brunings is! She is a great lecturer and really breaks things down in a way that's understandable for students. She is ALWAYS willing to do whatever it takes to help you out during and outside of class. She tells you exactly what you need to know and will even come to study sessions to help her students out.

Prof. Asha is SUPER sweet. She is always willing to help. The material is pretty tough, but Prof. Asha is there for you, you just have to ask. She's kind of funny too :). I would definitely recommend you take her, though on campus might be a better idea. Online lectures is quite challenging, but if you're up for it, go for it!

Asha was always very helpful. She jokes with the class and makes you actually enjoy being there. There are quizzes every class, but they are on the previous classes lecture and she drops a lot of the grades. Extra credit is offered and she complied really wonderful lecture notes of everything she might ask on the test so I didn't use the book often

Asha is great professor overall she responds to every email you send her & she answers any questions/concerns with clarity. She REALLY knows her microbiology. Although, her test are super hard she makes them the night before and there aren't any study guides so you're on your own. Her quizzes are fair and she offers extra credit and a ton of drops

It makes it much easier to learn by going to office hours or in lab. Although she doesn't lecture. That was the only thing that made it a hard class.

Microbiology was not an easy class, but with her lecture notes, video lectures and everything she provides for the class, you should have no trouble passing. You would have to work really hard to fail... She has a great personality and it really makes learning more fun. 3

She is an amazing professor, she's very helpful. Some people may not like her sense of humor for she might be a bit sarcastic. Attendance is not mandatory but you'll be missing her quizzes (1 quiz in every class). Class is hard, and she won't round up grades but she gives extra credit. Overall and excellent professor and fun. I will miss her class

There is allot to learn in this class so her lectures tend to not cover everything you need to know, but she posts all of her lecture notes, power points, and home made videos to canvas to counter that. There is a quiz every day in class that is on the previous day's material. Lots of graded work so you don't have to rely on exams for your grades.

She is an excellent professor. I was amazed at her level of preparation, and she wants every student to be successful. I recommend everyone to take her class.

Asha is seriously the best professor I've ever had. While the material is difficult, she does her best to help students understand. As long as you study hard and put in effort, you will pass this class. This is the best teacher I have ever had. Class was fun and very informational. There are not pop quizzes, one 5 question quiz is given every day and only the top 10 count for your final grade. The tests were about 50 multiple choice with 3-5 written answer questions. I defiantly recommend this teacher for anyone taking microbiology.

Asha is an amazing instructor. No textbook needed, just follow and study (a lot) her lecture notes and you'll pass her quizzes which are every class period. So attendance is mandatory if you want a grade for a quiz. She gives extra credit every week and has 4 exams, 1 group project and 1 paper. GREAT instructor. Just study and you will get an A!

I haven taken many great professors at Santa Fe, but may I say that Asha is in my top 3 best professors i've had. She truly loves what she does and you can see it on the way she expresses herself. And her accent is not bad at all, anyone who speaks fluent english will understand her perfectly. If you don't take her, you're making a huge mistake

Microbiology is a tough class, but Asha makes it fun and very relatable. She is very funny and will cracks little jokes through out her lecture. The test are hard but if you study the notes she provides you will do just fine. I've learned a lot from this class, and I would take her again in a heart beat.

Asha was awesome! She really cares about her students, and she gives plenty of EC opportunities. The course material itself is definitely difficult, but Asha keeps it entertaining. Tests are to the point, and you need to know the material in order to do well on them. You want to make sure to do the EC because that is what saved me!! She is a gem!!

Overall, it is not an easy class, but there were plenty of resources on Canvas and Asha was very helpful with the content.

Asha is very enthusiastic about teaching microbiology. Individuals learn differently and she understands this well. When I felt stupid, she encouraged me and helped me better understand. She is very thorough and fair in her grading (you have a voice). Make sure to always take the practice exams and read the lecture chapters she summarizes for you.

Great professor, made me want to come to class because of her energy. The lab was really interesting and laid back, you'll have a lecture quiz and lab quiz every week (on canvas) but the lowest couple is dropped. I highly recommend, a lot of material and you will need to put in the work to earn your grade but she is very willing to work with you.

Microbio is a hard class but she tries to make it as easy and as simple as possible. She provides many examples and videos that could help us pass and she posts her lectures online which is great. She is funny and makes class interesting at all times you just have to study the material she provided you with and you'll pass.

Asha was a phenomenal teacher. This was my first time taking an online course and yet she made the material and the lectures engaging through her evident interest in the material and her sense of humor. The material was complex but she did a wonderful job giving extra attention to any hard to grasp concepts. She cares about student success.

Its best to review the material prior to class and you're going to have to study hard. Listen Microbiology is one of the hardest courses you will have to take and this is mainly because you've never seen it in your life. HOWEVER, Dr. Brunings will do everything in her power to make you understand it. Her labs were at home and it wasn't the usual online lab it was so much better and she is very flexible with due dates! Take her!!!!!

Dr. Brunings made this class enjoyable and engaging! The Microbio-At-Home Lab was a lot of fun. There were two weekly lecture assignments, two weekly lab assignments, four lecture exams, lab mid-term, lab final, lecture project, and a lab project. Watch her PowerPoints, do the study-guides, read the text on Canvas, and study the chapter objectives.

Dr. Brunings is by far one of my favorite professors. She is so hands on, caring, and genuinely wants the best for her students. She knows how to help you understand the material without making the topics completely overwhelming, especially in a class like Microbiology. She made this semester so enjoyable and I would recommend her a million times!

Dr. Brunings is an incredible teacher, her subjective of choice is just very, very strenuous. Be prepared to put in a lot of time and effort. She is always available for questions, you can even text her if need be. I never used the online textbook she recommended and I did fine. Her course notes and lecture videos are quick but very thorough.

Professor Brunning's class was difficult, but fair. The course content was well orgaized and the instructions are very clear. There are a lot of assignments, but she is flexible with due dates. She gives good and timely feedback and ecourages you to ask questions. I would take a class with her again.

Micro is hard with anyone! Tough grader but gives opportunity to resubmit on most things. Lenient on due dates except at the end when grades are soon due. Weekly assignments & labs, 4 Lec exams, no cumm lec final but a final lec & lab project. Lab portion easy & interesting. A lab midterm/ final. Lots of reading! Do ALL extra credit you'll need it!

Microbiology is a hard subject. I was not able to put the time needed to study properly but she is willing to work with you in submitting labs, test, and quizzes. Make sure to do all extra credit because it saved me. the course does have 4 unit exam. I took this class online and loved doing the labs at home. I would take her again !

Micro itself is a hard subject, but Asha made jokes about the material, gave 5 points extra credit on every exam, and is the most caring professor Ive ever met. She stayed on zoom for another student and me while she was in the passenger seat of a car for over an hour so that we could ask questions and get all the help we needed.
