Mostly all online except for the first couple of in-person meetings. I enjoyed the class and the coursework is well organized. The website for the online textbook is really slow but it's organized to encourage active reading. All of what you learn is from the textbook. Asha really cares for his students and responds to your emails.

We started off the semester meeting in person for three class room sessions, from there we were exclusively on-line. I initially had a difficult time navigating D2L and missed the first assignment due date. This was partially due to this being my first ever on-line class and being slightly overwhelmed with my course load as a full-time student.

Taking this class online is what was most difficult for me, but he always answers emails quickly and is there to help if you have any questions about the work. If you keep up with deadlines and have a bit of communication with him, this class is not extremely difficult.

Professor Tamang is very honest, student oriented, very quick in giving response to questions and doubts. I really liked my online classes during semester as the course was really vivid, detail oriented and easy to comprehend the context and content. I would highly recommend class to other students as it really opens up the very society we live.

this class was the best class i've taking all year, the teacher was so understanding and intoned. everything was timed so perfectly and didn't put too much stress on the students. the professor was caring and answered questions pretty quick, the class was challenging but in a good way, in a way you can learn but not be overly stressed, recommend.

Profesor Tamang is funny, kind, and intelligent. However, the course itself was full of extensive lectures and many chapters of reading. This is not my favorite style of teaching. I'm sure the instructor's methods will perfectly please many students, but the lack of personal engagement was stifling.

I took Professor Tamang's intro to sociology class in the fall of 2022 and had a pleasant time. I think Professor Tamang is very knowledgeable about his subject, which comes through in his lectures. My best piece of advice is to show up to every lecture! There are some questions in quizzes that were based around in class discussion.

The professor sends emails out to students reminding them to turn in assignments when they're falling behind. if you're late on an assignment, he doesn't grade it right away, he waits for you to turn it in. if you email him, he emails you back the next day, which makes it easier to reach out to him.

Asha is a good professor and well prepared. Something I struggled with was understanding him sometimes, he has a rather thick accent. English is my second language so this was difficult but not his fault and overall a great teacher, good class and fairly easy to understand the material.

This professor is ver understanding, if you go to class everyday and just listen to what you're getting taught, there isn't no reason for you to fail. The assigments you're assigned are explained in class and also on your d2l. Overall he's a great professor and very understanding.

Dr. Asha is a good professor. He does care but being that he's extremely educated, I felt he expected greatness. Dr. Asha speaks 5 languages and English is not his first. So, it will be difficult to understand him. I will say if you do the work which is not much and be involved with class discussion, anyone will pass.

Asha is a good teacher, but he takes some warming up to. After the first class, I wasn't sure how I would feel about him. He whipped through slideshows, not leaving time for relationship building. At first, this wasn't welcoming. Throughout the course, he opened up more about himself and his teaching practices and he made it fun to learn Sociology.

He's a pretty good professor, he's very flexible with due dates and allows you to turn things in after the due date. Not too much homework outside of class unless you decide to do the bonus assignments he offers but if you just do the class discussions, quizzes and go to class regularly you are sure to pass!

If I was the instructor the one thing I would improve is. I struggled a lot with the language barrier between students and professor. It was really hard for us to know what was going on in class. Math 1005 This class had 2 teachers and we were only able to do the work with Asha online and the Math portion in class with another teacher. I had one issue in the beginning being graded for a test we were told not to study for, this test was supposed to determine what knowledge we already had so I think it was unfair to grade it.

Math 1005-60 Math for Social Justice: Nice guy who seems to really want everyone to do well & learn. It was the first time the course was ran, and it definitely felt like it. Sometimes makes you write more than the discussion really needs.

I took Ashas math for social justice class. This class is unlike any I have ever taken but in the best way; if you are passionate about social justice I recommend you sign up. There is a good amount of reading assigned but not too much. He does class does a good job at mixing math and social justice issues together, which I really enjoyed.

I took a hybrid Math for Social Justice course with Asha and the class as a whole was great. The topics were interesting and the conversations the readings sparked in class were thought provoking. Great professor and gives great instructions to the work. All the work is self explanatory and gives you a lot of thinking skills of the work you're doing. It makes it efficient for you to be able to be successful. I did not feel one bit while taking this class that any work was unnecessary.

I felt that my thoughts and opinion mattered to Professor Tamang. He refereed to his students as co instructors, he wanted to hear from us. All the assignments were clear and easy to understand, how to do them and when they needed to but done. He also made clear the ways how to contact him incase we did have any questions.

Asha was a really nice Professor with a ton of insight on the material. He was easy to talk to and it felt like he generally wanted you to pass the class. I heard that it was harder for people in the back of class to hear him speak, but I sat in the front of class and never had a problem. I would definitely take one of his classes again.

He is extremely professional and very easy to respect. He doesn't always mention due dates in class but as long as you regularly check D2L or the highly detailed syllabus, you'll remain caught up. If you do fall behind, Asha is very flexible with letting you hand in late work and will get the results graded within a timely manner.

Asha is an amazing teacher genuinely, he actually cares about his students if they care about his class. He actually wants students to gain knowledge that they can use day to day and I respect that so much compared to other teachers, when you can tell a teacher cares then you care about the class which is why I loved ashas class!

The online class has a lot of weekly assignments you have to do but her content is so well structured that it will be almost very easy to get through. It gets tougher as you go along though.

Mr. Tamang does a really good job of presenting the materials and assignments clearly and concisely; along with the tests for remembering information learned, with the inclusion of interactive elements as well to keep students engaged! The online teaching style was also very clear and being able to get help efficiently and within a reasonable time.

Professor Tamang's class was pretty straightforward. The workload is well spaced out and pretty easy to manage. You have to make sure that you don't miss 2 or more assignments at a time, and honestly that rule helped me get a good grade in his class by holding me accountable.

When I signed up for this class, I was nervous. But that changed because I had a great professor. It was easy to follow the course and stay on track. If you get behind there is always room to catch up. There are a lot of extra credit to take advantage of as well. If I were to take this class again I would definitely take it with instructor Asha.

Mr. Tamang was a very nice and understanding teacher. He is more on the soft spoken side but still communicative. He would do quizzes with ideal turn in time and was very honest in his grading.

Every assignment in this class was straight forward. The class assignments entailed short reflective quizzes of 200-300 words, and 10 question quizzes. This professor is very responsive to emails, and not a tough grader as long as you do the work. As log as you do the readings the quizzes are simple.

I took Asha's Family Violence online sociology class and having Asha as an instructor was great. I loved his flexibility and the fact that he worked with me. I have ADHD and my kids are 2 and 1, so sometimes I need some flexibility with deadlines. Whenever I had questions, he was always more than willing to answer them.

This was an independent study course with amazing flexibility. If you are willing to do the work and communicate any needs or questions, any class with this professor will go well for you.

I want people to know that I initially thought that he was difficult. However, after being in his class I really appreciated his teaching style. It was informative on a host of issues and topics.

At first it was hard to understand what he was saying because of his broken English. As the class goes on it gets easier to understand him. He will let you do papers over if you ask when you do the assignment incorrectly. He will also allow you to turn papers in early.

Professor Tamang is a wonderful teacher! This is one of the easier classes - easy meaning he is flexible and willing to work with you to get your desired grade. In my experience, I've found Asha Lal Tamang to be a wonderful and knowledgeable Sociology professor. The way that he teaches made the lectures in this class enjoyable, and easy to understand and follow through. I also like how we had good discussion's both in class and for the 3 major Discussion assignments we had to do this semester (Spring 2025)

Most of the teaching was technology-based lectures through PowerPoints and our laptops his teaching stat was systematic was not that thorough when it came to conveying the material. The material can be heavy at times, but Professor Tamang presents it with empathy and respect. The assignments were clear, the grading was fair, and the feedback was always helpful.

Class was half online, half unperson, with Professor T's portion being online. The class is a cross between sociology and math, with sociology being online. The online part is graded mostly through discussion posts and participation in class. Overall, I like the class, but it is a bit reading heavy.

Professor Asha's online Sociology 2115 course is very easy and simple to follow. He will not baby you, he will not coddle you. He posts all the assignments ahead of time and allows you to work at your own pace. You will rarely hear from him, as he expects you to just do the work, which is very easy to complete. Participation matters, read syllabus!

This class was hybrid and taught by two professors, Asha and James. I really enjoyed the Sociology portion that Asha taught, which was mainly discussion based and easy to complete. I also liked James in-person math portion, which was super digestible and taught by a really chill and understanding guy. I am NOT skilled in math, and he made it easy.

This was a hybrid course with the math portion in-person and the sociology portion online. Prof. Asha graded fairly, and a lot of the online work was discussion boards - which were fairly easy to complete. The math portion, taught by Prof. James, was easy to follow along with and fun to participate in. Overall I enjoyed the class.

This class was both a math class and a social justice class, I felt like both sides were easy and both teachers want you to pass, but I struggled to find the reason for the classes to be together I never met Professor Tamang in person and never got to know him, but it was a fairly easy class and not to much of a strict teacher.

The professor was very kind and understanding. There are a lot of extra credit opportunities, and the class is very quiz orientated. Assignments are not very difficult nor time consuming, and as long as you are doing the reading for the week the class is very light.

The professor was great! I loved the lecture and the discussions we would have in class. The assignments were not difficult and fairly straightforward if you're following along in class and doing the weekly reading.
