Ashlee was great. She explained new concepts in a way we could understand even though she spoke in Spanish the whole time and was always willing to help you out with something you didn't get. A generous grader on quizzes and tests. The only things that bugged me about the class were things she couldn't change that were mandated by the department.

Professor Norris brought excitement into the classroom through her contagious enthusiasm. She made each day fun and her pre-test activities helped a lot. Highly recommend her.

It's clear that Ashlee's biggest priority is to make learning Spanish easier, not harder. She doesn't assign dumb extra assignments or go on any power trips. She's the best Spanish teacher I've had at BYU.

Ashlee definitely enjoys teaching. Her main goal is for the students to understand the material. If I have ever not understood a concept, she does her best to explain it until it is understood. She speaks in Spanish in the classroom, but only uses words and verb forms we have learned. I have had her for 2 semesters now and really recommend her.

Ashlee allowed students to fully engage in whatever we were learning. She used a lot of the book which was nice, but she also used powerpoints. Sometimes concepts were gone over a little too fast but for the most part, she is a good teacher.

BEST language teacher I have ever had. She hardly speaks English in class, but she knows how to explain things perfectly so everyone understands. She learned everything in school, and she's not a native speaker, so she is able to explain to you why with actual reasons other than, 'it just sounds right.' She is a fantastic professor- when you're learning a language it's easy to get things confused but she's so good at explaining things until everyone understands and she's very willing to help you out of class if you need it. She is my favorite of the 4 Spanish teachers I've taken at BYU! She's what you need in a Spanish teacher: she's intense enough to keep the class interesting, funny enough to make you comfortable, and really strives to make sure the class knows the material. You can't go wrong with her!

Good, friendly professor! The only reason I didn't get an A was because this was the class that I usually pushed aside when everything piled up. If you go to class and do the homework, you can get an A easily.

I learned a lot of Spanish grammar in this class and Ashlee was great answering questions and helping me understand the material. She taught us everything we needed to know to do well on the exams.

The only thing I didn't like about this class was that the tests usually had one or two questions that we hadn't discussed at all or didn't fit; but I think that's a departmental issue.

Ashlee is patient with our speaking and grammar mistakes. She makes herself available to students that need help and keeps class very engaging and fun.

She is extremely helpful and patient with her students. She does everything she can to help you succeed. You'll hear some Portuguese pronunciation on some words (probably because she also knows Portuguese), but she is easy to understand. THe instructions she gives are very thorough.

The class is a lot of work. You have class daily, as well as daily homework (which either includes grammar or watching a soap opera). You have a lot of tests, which can be difficult. You also have to speak to a native Spanish speaker for 2 hours before every test; it can be a bit tedious. There are also 4 papers that you have to write during the semester. Even though there is a lot of work in this class, as long as you do all of the work, and put in the effort, you should get an A.

Prepare to dedicate a considerable amount of time outside of class. Ashlee is very clear in her explanations of grammar concepts, and she will explain until you understand it completely. To be honest, I lost a little motivation to attend class every day; things got a little tedious. Overall, Ashlee is dedicated to her students success.

Ashlee is great! I've had her for 3 semesters now, (105, 106 and 206) and she is great at explaining grammar. Her class is always fun and she reviews before every test. She is very nice about grades and deadlines, she tries to make your life as easy as possible. Really recommend her!

Great Teacher!! She really cares about you and your learning!! The schedule is a little compact just because of the 206 curriculum in general besides, Repetition is how you learn a foreign language! She does her best to help you to learn the material, and enjoy it at the same time.

It's fun to come to class and she makes sure that you are prepared for the tests. She's accurate and precise; so be sure to turn in your homework on time or she will be fair and give you the amount you deserve.

Ashlee has been one of my favorite teachers. She's fun and peppy, but she's also reasonable and understanding. Make sure you're always checking the schedule and doing the lecture readings- you may or may not get pop quizzes. Keys to success in her class: Get all the assignments done on time, study, and try your best.

She did well explaining concepts. The class itself is not designed well (memorizing over 125 vocab words per section) and she doesn't have time to go over them in class. Study vocab and idiomatic phrases! She makes class fun and enjoyable:) I would say I liked her as my professor just not the class itself.
