She's a fine professor, not amazing but not bad. Only thing is she has horrible grammar and it can make her exams confusing. 3 exams 1 final, all MC
Honestly for an Intro class, it is way to hard. I take this class with friends that are also taking chemistry and biology classes in the 200,300 level, and even they think this class is way too hard. The professor gives you literally hundreds of things to memorize and she explains too little on each topic issue. Words and phrases twisted in tests.
Loved her class! Material was interesting and she is engaging and very helpful. Holds review sessions for every test to answer questions and go over confusing topics. Covers a lot of material fairly broadly, so you have to work. Tests are all multiple choice, and sometimes her wording is tricky, but if you ask she will do her best to clarify.
Horrible, I mean literally the worst class I've ever taken. Avoid at all costs. Also, be weary, she changed her last name when she got married, but it's still the same old Everheardt underneath. Beware.
Professor Everhardt's Intro the Human Body class was very hard. I would not recommend to anyone not interested in the topic and just looking to fulfill a GER. Look elsewhere if that sounds like you. Absolutely do not skip class. She doesn't post slides online for this reason. She is organized and very smart.
Professor Everheardt is nicehelpful but is an extremely nit-picky grader and her tests and quizzes are ambiguously worded.
Professor Everhardt's lectures were clear and interesting. Her "Introduction to the Human Body" class was fairly easy, considering it is an introductory course. Also, when I took Dissection Anatomy Lab the next semester and missed a lab session, she allowed me to attend her session to make up for it. She is very approachable and helpful.
She's a great professor. Lectures are all based on powerpoints, so as long as you copy down the notes during class and study them, you will be good. Her powerpoints are really clear and concise and organized. She will say textbook is required, but YOU DON'T NEED IT AT ALL
She is a really tough grader. Though all the tests questions are based on her PPT, she will not post it online till the day of midterm. There is no practice questions for the exam and the proportion of each midterms are really high.
Queen will meet with you during office hours and will clear things up for you. She's very approachable and helpful. I totally tanked the first midterm (first college exam), but I got an A on the second one. It's a lot of material, and you will have to put in a LOT of hours studying (at least I did), but definitely doable. Textbook unhelpful.
I really enjoyed this class, but it required a lot of work. Notes could not be more straightforward-she provides fill in the blank notes that you fill in in class, but you need to show up. Exam questions all come directly from notes. They cover a lot, every last detail but if you start studying a week before the exam, you can do really well
Took this class since it was an intro but ended up doing more work for this than some other upper level classes I was taking. The problem with the class is that too much information is covered without really spending a lot of time learning it. The tests are poorly worded too and extremely specific. I only survived by going to her office hours.
Professor Queen was wonderful, and I genuinely looked forward to her lectures every class (which was good because she tests from them and doesn't post them online, so attendance is necessary). She's very passionate about what she teaches and includes her own personal research in the lectures. Also very accessible for help and gives great lectures.
Professor Queen is the best Professor I had last semester. She really cares about the material and is willing to work with you if you ask. There's a lot of work, especially for one credit but she breaks it up so its manageable. She also makes everything relevant to everyday life, which helps. Incredibly nice professor.
Queen is pretty annoying sometimes. She doesn't really teach the material for this lab course, but she still expects students to know it. This is particularly annoying because there are constant lab assignments, and she makes no effort to lighten the load, sometimes making it worse with a quiz and lab assignment and lab report all due on one day.
I have Professor Queen for Intro to the Human Body, and she is by far my favorite teacher. The class is all lecture, but she makes it interesting, and she gives you exactly what you need to study for the exams. There is no textbook, and she gives one homework assignment per week. I'm considering taking her other class just so I can have her again.
Incredible professor. Super friendly and super smart. Office hours really help. Study the material from lectures and you will do well. It's a lot of information, so start studying at least a few days in advance.
The entire class is lecture based. She has power points and you are trying to fill in the blanks on the note guides she provides before the slides switch. The tests are difficult/very specific so don't rely on MC as a crutch. The class covers in depth cell information and glycolysis/etc. There is basically no HW but a lot of material per test.
A great professor. Her lectures cover a lot of material but all the exams and quizzes pull directly from her power points, which are posted online after covered. Class attendance is not required but helps. Her provided notes are just the powerpoint material in a word document with blanks to fill in.
Professor Queen was one of my favorite professors this semester. She provides fill in the blank notes for class, has 1 weekly assignment, 3 open note quizzes on blackboard, 2 exams and 1 final exam. Lectures were interesting and she knew the topics well. She was also helpful during office hours for review. Highly recommend as a class freshman year!
Professor Queen is very knowledgeable and knows this topic like the back of her hand. The 3 MC tests are easy enough if you study and she offers EC. She posts the PPs for the fill in the blank notes on bb after each class, so you dont necessarily need to go to every class. That being said, she does explain the more complex topics well in class.
Professor Queen is an amazing lecturer and runs this class very smoothly. The exams are extremely specific, but are easy and directly from notes if you put in the time to really learn the large amounts of material. She gives EC which is nice and also has weekly content review assignments. 2 exams and a final. Interesting material and great teacher.
Professor Queen demonstrated exceptional knowledge of the course material, and her lectures were engaging. You do not need the textbook for this class, as she posts notes online for you to fill in the blanks during the presentations. Tests are specific but fair (I made tons of flashcards).
Intro Human Body is a perfect intro course. Professor Queen gets excited about the material. Exam questions can be specific but are very fair considering all the info is in the provided fill-in-the-blank note guides. Homework graded for completion. The course itself effectively surveys important biological concepts related to the human population.
Commuter student during the summer before my senior year of high school to get a feel for things. She was a literal sweetheart, even brought us doughnuts on the last day of class. Only complaint is that her tests could be worded oddly, and when clear mistakes were pointed out to her she would not budge on changing the grade.
Professor Queen is great. She condenses the material into manageable powerpoints that she uploads to blackboard. I got As on all of the exams simply by studying those, so attendance is not really necessary; however, if you do attend, you will find that she is quite knowledgeable on the subject of human biology and communicates it effectively.
Prof Queen is AMAZING. By far my favorite professor. She teaches you everything you need to know explicitly in class, and that's exactly what's on the test. She is so enthusiastic about kinesiology, and it really shows in her lectures! She makes class super engaging and is super accessible during office hours. She's the sweetest professor-LOVE her!
Her lectures were simplified and engaging, but her exams are confusing and focused on niche subject matters and details brushed over on the PowerPoints. Did not curve or offer extra credit, nor did she budge on any low exam grades. Definitely not the easy NQR other students label it as.
She is really nice, interesting in class, and accessible outside class. However, this is also the worst grade I've ever gotten and I studied more for this class than any other in the 5 semesters I've been here. Exams are extremely specific and cover way too much material. Wouldn't recommend unless you're a science person
This class was absolutely amazing! Prof Queen is so passionate about microbiology and is an absolute expert in the field. She made class so engaging and fun. Shes an absolute gem and I recommend this class highly to pre-meds. So fun!! I only studied the PPTs and her study guides and got high As on every test, so pretty straight forward.
Queen is very caring and does her best to teach students. KINE200 was harder than expected. I ended up doing well, but that is because I have taken bio 1 and 2 which actually helped with this class. My friends who never took bio. I would give Queen a level 3 difficulty but gave a 4 for what I think the average person would.
Professor Queen is a Queen. She is so passionate about what she teaches and she really loves to share that passion. I wish I had applied myself more, because I would have definitely gotten a better grade in her class as it is surface level and not too complex. If you are looking for a good female mentor, Prof Queen is your gal
I LOVE PROF QUEEN!!!! SHE IS A LITERAL QUEEN. But in all seriousness, Queen is a great teacher and is so knowledgeable about everything. The only way to do well in lab is to go to open lab hours as often as possible, but it is worth it!
Love Professor Queen! She explains things really well and is very knowledgeable in the field. You don't need to go to class because she uploads the powerpoints, but her explanations generally make it worth it. Not too hard, just study the material and that's what will be on the test. Very organized and clear about expectations.
The final grade is based on 2 exams and 1 final. It is not that easy, but if you take effort in, you will have a good result. Queen will also give extra credit opportunities.
Queen is literally the QUEEN! I came in with no bio background after high school freshmen year, and I found this class absolutely informative and interesting. Attendance isn't a must, but she offers EC10 times/semester. Queen explains complex concepts really well and is always so patient to explain the same thing repetitively. Review 5 days ahead!
Professor Queen is accessible. She provides perfect lectures. Tests are multiple choices all from her PowerPoints. No need for textbook. Content is a bit heavy but not that hard. If you can memorize all PPTs, you will receive nice grades. Attendance is not mandatory, but therere pop quizzes before class for extra credits, which would help a lot.
The perfect class if you want to fulfill the C200 NQR code. She's really nice and offers extra credit that really came in handy. The material was interesting, the only advice I would give is to make sure to study.
Shes very willing to work with you if anything comes up or goes wrong on an assignment. She also explains concepts very very well and if you have a question, shes more than willing to explain it again.
Professor Queen is so sweet and truly cares about her students. I have loved every class that I have had with her, even if the material is difficult. She is always available to help you understand something and truly loves teaching. The labs are actually really cool and fun, but make sure to study for the quizzes even though they are open note!
By far the best professor I've had here. This class is super easy and straightforward as long as you do the work. Professor Queen is so sweet and caring. I had raised a concern regarding the way she taught a specific topic and she immediately addressed it in the next class. She genuinely cares about her students and did an amazing job with online
Med term is a super easy class, and Professor Queen made it interesting while still simple. The content and grading was very clear, and everything on the exams comes straight from the powerpoint and optional textbook. Overall an interesting class to take for an easy A, and Prof Queen made it enjoyable.
SUPER accommodating w covid. Recorded lectures allow you to pace yourself with a note template. Open note quizzes to help study for exams. Exams are very straight forward. If you watch the lectures and do the assignments (graded for COMPLETION) and ask questions in the zoom session you'll be fine. Prof is super kind and helpful
absolutely love her. everything is straight forward and from the notes. her tests are thorough but fair. as long as you study the powerpoints, you should do well. she's very accessible and understanding of students. TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU CAN. definitely my favorite professor i have had.
I really like Professor Queen she is super nice I enjoyed her class it was easy and I learned a lot, the topics are very interesting. The class consisted of assignments, quizzes, and exams. It was an asynchronous class so there were videos for lectures she gives great resources and it was an overall great experience.
Beware- this professor uses Honorlock, a software that is morally questionable at best, and downright dystopian at worst. She teaches this kinesiology course at more or less a pre-Med level, so do not take this class unless you have an extensive background in biology or life sciences. I would stay away.
Ashleigh seems like a friendly professor, but her class was so boring. The course is designed as biweekly lectures, 3 tests, and 3 quizzes. The weekly homework is completion-based, but be ready to cram for a week before the tests. I stopped attending classes because the lectures were no help but still got an A. Great NQR for non-STEM people.
Prof Queen makes a heavy course seem easy and interesting! She's great at explaining somewhat foreign concepts (to me as a non-STEM major lol). Her exams are proctored but there are 0 trick questions and all come from the notes guides she makes for you. She's also soooo kind and funny, 100% recommend
Dr. Queen is one of the best professors I have had at this school. She is very organized and her PowerPoints are easy to follow. Flash cards really helped me study for her tests. Dr. Queen is also very responsive to questions and feedback from students.
Dr. Queen is a gem. I can't recommend her enough - it is clear that she is passionate about what she teaches. She is also incredibly kind and was always available for help outside of class if needed. Test questions came directly from the notes, study them well and you will do fine. Quizzes are open notes, tests are not (tests have honorlock system)
Queen is definitely the best professor I had this semester! She is a sweetheart and gives three extra credit opportunities to help boost your grade. You have to study the powerpoints to do well on the tests, but if you put in the time, you will most likely get an A. Plus, you will learn a lot along the way!
Prof. Queen was amazing for Microbes in Human Disease! I was so interested in the topics and she made her lectures interesting and engaging. As long as you pay attention and keep up with deadlines, it should not be difficult to do well in the class. She was very considerate and understanding about due dates too. Take this class if you can!
Professor Queen was really sweet. Most of her lecture was straight off the slides, with some additional explanation/details when needed. I thought she was really kind and understanding of our situation with the pandemic. She did go through the slides quite fast, so the note guides she has on blackboard were really helpful and highly recommended.
Reads off the slides, offers extra credit throughout the semester, study the slides for the test and youll be fine.
Professor Queen is a great person! Even though this class has 200+ students in it, I felt as if she was super accessible and cared deeply about me. That said, this course does involve a lot of material, so make sure you study the slides very hard, you cannot get away with cramming the topics the day before the exams. Take the class if you love STEM
Professor Queen is a great professor and I highly recommend taking her courses. She is super engaging and made the material in KINE 310 super interesting. If you put in the work you will be able to get an A. She tests straight from her PowerPoints, not from a textbook and is always offering extra help if needed.
Professor Queen is super clear in her expectations for the course and tests straight from her PowerPoints. This course has a few assignments, but the majority of the grade comes from exams which are not difficult if you study. Additionally, she offers extra credit opportunities. This class is easy to succeed in if you review her PPs.
As long as you study the slides, it'll all be smooth sailing. Offers extra credit throughout the semester. Really great lecturer.
She is super sweet and her tests are pretty much straight from her lectures.
Dr. Queen is an amazing person and a great professor. She explains the concepts really well, and cares about her students. She's organized, and incredibly respectable. However, her class was really hard for the intro kinesiology course. Definitely useful information that helped with later courses.
This lab was pretty difficult and didn't correspond with the lecture at all. All assignments were open note until the final which was hard. Sometimes the information wasn't covered in lab, or the 'textbook' and she never explained it, but it was still on the final. Make sure you study and ask a lot of questions and you'll get a decent grade.
Professor Queen is an amazing Professor, and I would recommend taking any of her classes.
For a class with probably over 150 kids, she taught very well. Intro to the Human Body was this course, and it was a good intro to everything future professors could cover. She annotated all powerpoints and would take breaks for questions, which were always very helpful. Also lots of extra credit!! Great person to learn the basics from.
Professor Queen is a great professor in a decent class. She is very helpful and gives leeway with extra credit. I walked in expecting mostly kinesiology and anatomy, and was met with a biology dense curriculum. All information is in the slides, and homework is important for your understanding. It's a challenging but engaging course overall.
Dr. Queen is a great professor. Her topics are interesting and she tries to make the lectures engaging. It's a great intro-level course with no background knowledge necessary to succeed. Her exams are very doable with limited studying. Overall it was a great course and I would absolutely take it again.
Everything you need to know are on the slides. It's helpful how she tells you exactly what you need to focus on.
Professor Queen was daunting as a humanities major, but she was very lovely to have as a professor! I am not big into kinesiology, but the class is great if biology was sort of your thing in high school. She's very accessible outside of class and understanding if you're going through a lull. I recommend it if you're interested in an NQR credit!
ashleigh should be renamed ash-slay because she is an absolute Queen as her name suggests. i had no outside interest in kinesiology but her lectures were informative and interesting. would reccomend
Dr. Queen is an amazing professor! She is very kind and her lectures are interesting. The class was 3 exams, no cumulative final (the 3rd exam was just the last exam). Quizzes are open note. Homework assignments for each topic were easy and straightforward. The class is similar to high school biology. Would take any class with Dr. Queen!!
Dr. Queen is amazing. I took this class just for fun and I loved it. I took AP Bio in hs so this class wasn't difficult to me, but either way she teaches very well and is crystal clear on what she is looking for. Quizzes are open note, tests are multiple choice on blackboard, extra credit offered. Would recommend this class for sure!
I'm not a stem girl at all so I felt v frustrated with the level of detail we were expected to memorize (exams abt 300 slides), particularly for an INTRO class. As a person and prof tho, Queen is wonderful. She's super accessible and v caring and personable. Highly suggest if ur in stem but for people like me who aren't - know what ur getting into!
This class was easy. At times it seemed more like biology than kinesiology. Dr. Queen posts all the notes, ppts, and videos online so you don't actually need to come to class. Lectures are very long. Only graded on 3 quizzes and 3 exams (with ex credit). There are 12 homework assignments but it's graded on completion so you'll get a 100 on it.
Human Physiology is just a very hard class and Professor Queen's exam for this class were also very difficult. Overall she is a good professor but because this class covers so much content, it felt like no matter how much effort I put in, I never did better than a C on exams.
Study the flashcards for every chapter and this class is a breeze. Attendance is not needed, but is great if you want to review the information with more context after studying the terms beforehand. The other assignments outside of the exams are very straightforward. Professor Queen is awesome!
Dr. Queen is a queen! This was her first time teaching Human Physiology and she did great. Your final grade really only came from 3 quizzes and 3 exams. This content is a lot and you will really have to study, but she made study guides and powerpoints for us that covered everything that would be on the exams.
This anatomy lab was just looking at pictures and models b/c they were not able to get cadavers :( There is a lot of terms to memorize for the 3 exams. Queen was a big help on clarifying anything you were confused about. Class only met 6 times and it just consisted of looking at models and asking her questions. Pretty easy but lots of work.
The material is challenging but Queen makes is easy to do well. Everything you need to know is listed on the slides, so going to class is optional but recommended. Lots of extra credit on the exams, which are taken on Blackboard. As long as you know EVERYTHING on the slides, you should be fine.
Honestly, I've showed up to 4 lectures total and I'm doing fine with just the Powerpoints. Tests are open-note and aren't cumulative, just make a quizlet from the powerpoints to study.
I would quite literally take any class Dr. Queen teaches. She is an EXTRAORDINARY professor & has made a huge change in the way that I study, in the way that I learn, and in the career I hope to lead. She truly cares about each & every one of her students, she's empathetic, she will challenge you, she's funny - I would give her a million stars!
Professor Queen is amazing! There is a lot of content but the way she teaches and grades makes the exams not too difficult. There are 3 exams that are take home and open note. Slides are posted from class so attendance is not mandatory. There is a lot of biology that was covered in AP bio in the course. Overall she's super sweet and knowledgable.
I highly recommend taking this class with Professor Queen! Professor Queen is very friendly and responds quickly to emails. She is so knowledgeable and encourages you to apply everything you learn through case studies. I loved the lab and had a great time trying to identify our unknown species.
She's a great professor and is passionate about the material! Intro to human body is a really easy class, however, even though tests are open note you do have to study (test questions are on minute details). Lectures are interesting, however she speeds through the material because the class covers so much information. Having taken bio helps.
Material is conveyed super clearly, and Queen is always available for questions and help. Tests can be difficult but are open-note so are never too too hard. Class had many grades.
Nice professor. Class is just one long lecture. Exams are open note but test questions require you to know the material. Class falls under Kine, but felt like a Bio class. I recommend watching Youtube videos and going to office hours if you don't understand the material. Not a tough class but you'll have to earn your grade.
Very easy and interesting class. Lots of assignments helped boost my grade and tests were easy as they were open book and out of class.
Professor Queen is an amazing professor, however, the class is not as easy as everyone says. Although the exams are open note, you need to know the material really well to do good. I recommend going to the lectures, studying for the exams, and going to office hours if you need extra help. You will have to work hard to do well in this class.
I'm not a huge fan of bio and Queen made Human Microbes interesting. She is happy to record lectures if you have to miss and will help you out especially if you go to the lectures! To keep up with all the info go to class! She made everything open note (which I've heard is a recent change) the tests are tough due to time limits but not impossible.
one of the best teachers in the kinesiology department. as a freshman taking her class i couldnt have asked for a better experience. she is so respected and kind to all her students and wants the best for everyone.
Prof Queen is great! This class was lecture heavy but that was expected. Attendance isn't mandatory, but going to class does help as she adds extra notes that aren't on the posted slides. The tests were fair and the homework assignments actually helped learn the material. Great class and great prof!
Queen is a great professor! She lectures the entire class, but it's not terribly boring. 2 exams and a final, a hw and quiz per unit, all open note. I'm not a kinesiology major or have any interest there tbh, but it's a very manageable class as a non-science person. Would recommend!!
Super easy and understandable class. I loved it, such a good prof and I'd love to take another one of her classes again.
I love Dr. Queen! The class is lecture-heavy, but it's enjoyable if you're genuinely interested in the material. Weekly assignments were easy, and all assessments were open-note and taken outside of class, which was helpful due to the amount of information. This was definitely my favorite class, and I hope to take more with Dr. Queen soon!
Microbes in Human Disease is a great class! The content is super interesting, and Dr. Queen presents it in a digestible way. There is a lot of content, but all tests/quizzes are open note, so it isn't hard to do well. Dr. Queen really cares about her students and is accessibly outside of class. 3 discussion posts, 3 quizzes, and 3 exams.
KINE 200 is a very easy class I would recommend to everyone, including non-KINE majors. The material (similar to a high school biology class) is clear, the lectures are engaging and the tests are not particularly difficult. Dr. Queen is very helpful, kind and organized - definitely take her classes if you get the chance.
Prof Queen is awesome. Tests and quizzes are open note on blackboard. Class is soooo easy and interesting. No attendance and everything is posted on BB.
Queen is nice but be prepared to take a lot of notes. Quizzes and tests are open note but be careful about how they are weighted because she doesn't put in the weighted grade till the end (I ended up getting a lower grade than I anticipated)
The Intro to Human Body class was very easy as all of the quizzes and exams were open resource. The content was also a little bit random and dispersed. While this was very helpful, I feel like the fact that we were able to use all resources made my motivation for this class a bit lower. She was a great lecturer for sure, though.
Not a KINE major, but I found the lectures confusing and the slides convoluted at times. Topics were not always explained well and info was often repeated in different ways. Not the most boring lectures, and light on work overall, but certainly not fun imo.
I found this class to be challenging as it forced me to learn in ways which were not effective for me. I tended to find the 1.5 hour lectures very boring and it was hard to stay focused. However, she does not post her notes or recordings so if you miss something too bad. Her test questions are also very specific to her lectures which made it worse
Dr. Queen's lectures made the concepts fairly straightforward for a relatively difficult and memorization-heavy class. If you're sick or have to miss class, she will always send you recorded lectures so you can catch up. Lots of content, and some exams are designed to be harder than others (the middle exam tends to be the hardest), but doable.
She's the best! Such a caring professor, always accessible outside of class.
Professor Queen had reasonable expectations for an online course, and gave lectures in a concise and clear manner. I enjoyed this class and found I learned a lot.
Lots of memorization. Make a quizlet and go through it once before an exam and youll be fine. Final is not cumulative.
