Professor Anderson is an amazing teacher, but she makes you work for it. Don't just take this class for the gen ed, if you're a POLI SCI major this class has a ton of information about comparative politics. Prof. Anderson is well informed and prepared. She has a dry sense of humor that's entertaining. You'll read a ton but it's necessary. 10/10

Dr. Anderson is a literal gem. She is very straightforward in what she is looking for in assignments and tests. No textbook required, instead she assigns academic articles, but it's okay if you don't understand what you're reading because she explains it in class. The rest of the political science dept. should follow her lead.

Ashley Anderson is a great professor. She is passionate and knowledgeable about comparative and Middle Eastern politics. Her POLI 130 class is not difficult if you do the readings, go to class and ask for help in her office hours. The class consists of only three assignments and two tests so you can not really make any mistakes.

Lectures are dense and more like giving a dissertation presentation than teaching. Gave no context about the countries, it was all theory. We had one midterm and a terrible group paper that she realized none of us knew how to do, yet continued to assign it and move forward with it anyway. She gives feedback, but I found little of it helpful.

I thought she was a really tough and sometimes confusing grader. Told me all semester not to regurgitate info from class, and then penalized me on every assignment for using external examples/not using in-class case studies. Papers are 6-8 pages and exams are a lot of writing and content-heavy. She's super smart, her style just didn't work for me.

I had this comparative politics class & it was fully asynchronous. Her lectures were very organized and she laid everything out so it was very accessible.
