DOES NOT CARE ABOUT TEACHING! Just tells students to read the book!
If you really want to learn history, take his class(es). Show up, take really good notes, read the novels, and you'll do well in this class. Excellent course.
Pay attention to the term sheets and syllabus, he sticks to them and explains the material very well. Questions from the quizes always show up on tests. Overall is a great teacher and is highly recommended! Don't know what the other guy was talking about.. I actually HAVE Cruseturner as a teacher.

If you really want to learn-take him. Not as easy as others, but you feel like it is a real college class-not Mickey Mouse --comparable to Holder in Govt Dept
He was the best history teacher I have ever taken in college. Fun and loves to tell stories. If it can be avoided DO NOT take his class early in the morning. Love the guy, but something about him makes you fall alseep. Every info sheet he gives take to heart. Excellent, excellent, excellent.
He is so funny!

Awesome teacher! Not hard to pass just show up and take the notes and it should be a breeze. He sticks very closely to the terms and dates sheet all ya gotta do is fill in the details.
He's a good guy & hes really passionate about history.Unfortunately alot of his student really don't care about it & you can see the wear and tear of their attitude on him.Just pay attention,be on time & do ur work & you can make an easy A.
He is a great teacher! Very enthuisastic about his subject! He gets the class involved and has great reenactments of history he wants you to remember. His test are a breeze if you study. I highly recommend this prof.
Lectures are not extremely boring, and he has alot of stories. Tests are multiple choice, and he does not give essays! You do have to read two books for class, but there not bad.
Very Funny and Spontaneous.
He seriously is one of the best history teachers you will take. He makes the class an enjoyable experience. He is very helpful and cares about his students. Just show up to his class and take notes and it should be a breeze!!!!!!!!
Great instructor who really knows and loves history. His passion for learning shows in his work and helpfulness.
Excellent teacher! Loves his job! Loves history! Class is fun. He is fun. As long as you read the assigned pages, listen in class (take notes), and use his term sheets; the class is easy! I recommend him to anyone taking history.
Absolutly wonderful. Everything was clear and reasonable. Got extremely high grade. Several opportunities for extra credit. Made a high A
I took him online. He is a pretty easy grader and makes his assignments clear, but be prepared to read your butt off! (well, especially if you take him for a summer course)
I took him online. He is a pretty easy grader and makes his assignments clear, but be prepared to read your butt off! (well, especially if you take him for a summer course)
Great Instructor. He is very helpful. Don't sleep in class! Don't be disrespectful and you will do well. Many quizzes, but the test comes from these quizzes. Do well on them and you'll do well on the exams. Only 4 exams + extra credit opportuminities.
Great instructor. Interesting lecturer. Positive attitude, and cares about students and teaching.
The worst teacher. And the biggest disappointment. Everyone told me how wonderful he was.. um no way. He is horrible at explaining things and trust me, if you had Vince Clark you are definitly DOWNGRADING! All I did in that class was cuss myself out for not taking vincer the second time.
Crusteturner was an okay teacher but you have to be ready to learn and READ!
Very good teacher. He gives reviews that tell you exactly what's going to be on the test, and most of that is covered in the notes. Yes, there are quite a few quizzes which come from books and speeches, but they are very good and easy if you do the reading. Very good professor.
He's a very charismatic guy and you can learn a lot from him. Tests and quizes can be kind of tricky, but nothing that studying wouldn't help. Gives reviews and is very helpful. Make sure you come to class though and get on his good side.
He is a very very very very bad teacher. Don't take him if you can. You ask him questions and he tells you to look in the book, but the book said something diferent then he did. His tests are not on the stuff we cover in class. I made a B in his class because he didn't teach us, he just told stories that didn't have anything to do with the class!
GREAT teacher! I had to work to get my grade but I learned a lot. I don't understand the comment about the book saying something different than he did. Everything you need is on his study sheets.
SUX!! he is nice and everything but should look into something other than teaching. he never gave a review that was worth anything. and his tests were incomprehensible. he sux as a teacher and wouldn't reccomend him to anyone! Stay away unless you are just dying to learn about his personal life and absolutely nothing about history.
Great teacher, makes learning interesting! Somewhat easy, but not too difficult.
Great teacher!!! So nice and really loves what he does.
Really funny. Kinda scattered though. jumps from topic to topic. his class is entertaining and he has a way of making history interesting. If you want a high grade, you have to read the textbook.
Pay attention, STUDY for tests, and read the required books and you will pass. There is alot of material, but the required books were interesting.
He DOES care about teaching. Like someone else said, though, negative & ignorant attitudes of students can wear a guy down. You want to impress him. BE KNOWLEDGABLE. If you're lazy & ignorant you will feel it, as you should. But then you will probably just come on here and give him a bad review later on...
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! he is a nice guy, but he definitely should NOT be teaching. I couldnt even follow what he was talking about the entire time. all of the materials given are completely useless as is the class. If you want to pass with a good grade do not take him!!
Cruseturner is a fantastic history teacher! He is passionate about history! Lectures are interesting and class participation is encouraged. He gives term sheets to assist in note taking, and a cut down guide before each exam so you know what to study for. It is college & it is history so there is reading, but the text book is understandable.
He's ok.....he jumps from topic to topic and is very boring and tells very lame jokes..you really have to study and read all of the material unless you really know alot about history anyway..I wouldn't take him again!
Awesome professor! He obviously loves history and loves teaching. He wants you to learn history. This class is not for you if you don't want to learn. I actually like his jokes!
He is a really cool person and he has a lot of interesting stories.
Cruseturner makes class enjoyable and fun to learn. I hope I luck out and have more teachers like him in my upcoming semesters! He uses Blackboard for assignments and posts grades after each quiz or exam, so you always know how you are doing throughout the semester. Take his class, you won't regret it :)
Awesome history professor. granted he jumps from topic to topic really fast and in order to keep on track you have to have your key notes but if you have any questions just stop him before the tangit starts and he will ALWAYS answer your questions. recommend a laptop for this class but still do-able without.
As said in here jumps from topic to topic, very scatter- brained. Lectures are interesting but rarley pertain to class material and lectures most definately do not help test time. You have to find your own notes in the text book. Study guides are vague.
He is a funny professor. I laughed every day. That being said, he can ramble from time to time, but i thought the class was very interesting and i studied the sheets he had on blackboard and did very well on my tests. I would recommend this professor as i took him for both English 1301 and 1302
Mr. Cruseturner is one of the best professors at M.C.C. His approach to instruction is centered around class discussion and is far more interesting than the standard lecture/powerpoint approach. He shows you how our history is relevant to modern day events and discusses the connections between historical events and current affairs very engagingly.
Great teacher! Very ethusiatic and nice to all the students! Study the reviews and you should make an A!! :)
Great teacher, goofy and funny comments that keep the class interesting. Little unorganized but he makes it clear as to what is on the test and the neccassary steps needed to take in order to make an A. As long as your willing to do a little work you will enjoy this class.
he was a very interesting teacher. but if your not good with history his lectures dont help. he is very kind and willin to help you get a good grade. lots of extra credit which is a definate plus. im awful at history and i mean AWFUL!! and i still passed.
He's not great, but not bad either, just average, he had his moments.
Overall a good professor. He is very enthusiastic about history and that's a plus! Has alot of extra credit and puts up reviews for exams plenty of time before you take the exam.
My favorite professor ever. I will definitely recommend him. He gave plenty of assignments and a lot of extra credit. He makes history fun to learn.
I learned so much from this class. Was disappointed I wanted to go back and take him in the fall but he only teachers online during the summer I would recommend this teacher for both online and in class classes
Mr. Cruseturner is the nicest and most helpful professor I have ever had. He is very passionate about his field of study, which will captivate your attention from the beginning of class. It doesn't hurt that he has a good sense of humor too! He is extremely helpful and offers so many chances for extra credit! TAKE THIS CLASS! =)
Took this as a Summer class online. SOOO much reading. It's interesting material, but, you have to read your books thoroughly and be prepared to take notes in the margins and highlight a lot. We read 13 chapters of the textbook along w/ several paperbacks. If you work full time and take this in the summer, make it your only class.
Awesome instructor! Very interesting extensive reading material. Enjoyed learning about American History with his assignments. Easy open book quizzes and Final. He offers extra credit and is very attentive to his students. Highly recommend.
Amazing professor! I would definitely recommend him.
This instructor was on the money. All directions up front and clear. The test was right for the book. All test were available where you could take when you want. I have never been interested in History, but he has made this course very manageable.
Great speaker, funny too.
Great teacher, gives a good curve when grading
Professor Cruseturner was quick to answer emails and was gracious if he made a slight grading mistake. He had a great sense of humor, and if you want to get on his good side say something positive about Andrew Jackson. The textbook was easy to read and the chapter quizzes were straightforward. Definitely recommend this professor for this class.
ALL THE QUIZZES FROM THE TEXTBOOKS AND ARE NOT DIFFICULT TO PASS IF YOU READ THE MATERIAL. HISTORY WAS MY WEAKNESS UNTIL I TOOK HIS CLASS. GREAT TEACHER!!!
I enjoyed taking Cruseturner. He loves history. He sometimes gets a little off topic, but the class is easy. Just take notes. There are about 8 quizzes over the assigned readings (usually a chapter from the book) and 3 exams. A lot of the exam questions come straight from the quizzes. He posts good reviews before the exams & gives EC opportunities.
Prof. Cruseturner is beyond fair. He will help you in any way he can. Communicate with him if you are having problems and he will be glad to assist. Took him for 1301 and 1302. Wish he taught more courses I need. Among the top professors at this school for fairness and clarity.
Very helpful, Amazing teacher, make sure you read before you take your quizzes, took the online class, you WILL have to read before you take the text. Teacher is very helpful when you ask.
Answers any questions/emails very quickly and in depth. Gives a study guide for literally everything so you always know what to expect from quizzes/tests. He's a nice guy and I would take him again!
I appreciate how in your lectures you make a point to move around, change the volume of your voice.. etc. It keeps students involved. Study guides are very helpful. Great extra credit opportunities. I think his jokes are pretty darn funny.
I took Mr. Crusetuner for both years and have loved the man and his class as a whole. He is extremely passionate and he is also very fair. He does an amazing section on slavery and civil rights one in 1301 and one in 1302. Highly recommend this guy.
Awesome professor he knows his stuff and very dedicated! Just make sure you read, read, and stay on top of your two exams that are assigned every week. However he is a very considerate person if you take the time to communicate with him and let him know what is going on. Easy A, but you gotta read! Would definitely take him again
Cruseturner was a nice guy, but he lectures forever and sometimes gets really off topic, which can be good or bad. He gives uninformative power points, so you'll need to take good notes. If you can stay awake, you'll do fine. There are several quizzes that are also on the test so be sure to write the quiz answers down when he goes over it!
The textbook was easy to follow. There were two chapter quizzes a week with an additional reading and quiz some weeks. Perfect online class. The final was the most challenging assignment yet it wasn't extremely difficult.
He gives a study guide for every quiz and test. There isn't many of them though so you need to do well on everything because there are no easy points/assignments. He's a genuinely nice guy and super helpful! Lectures are rather long but not super boring. He's really good at knowing his students personally and helps them do their best.
Cruseturner is a great teacher. He makes everything very easy to understand but tends to jump to random topics during lectures. And dont expect to get out of class early other than on test days.
Unorganized & rambles on lectures. Will pass if you do the study guide and study. Must show up because attendance is part of your grade. Very sarcastic so if you're the person that comments on things and don't like sarcasm it will bother you. Overall he's a funny guy, which makes the lectures funny. Suggest to read chapters, it will help on tests.
Professor Cruseturner was an awesome professor; one of the best I've had while at McLennan. His lectures can be boring, but when he realizes he is losing focus he will try and be entertaining. The class may not be tough, but it can be rigorous and draining sometimes. I would recommended Prof. Cruseturner to anyone taking history.
Thought he was an amazing guy-enjoyed history for a change
One of the best I've had, he's sarcastic but hilarious. Overall just makes it easier to learn and remember the information he lectures about.
I took it online, does not reply to emails. Can't not work ahead, big problem for me that why I take online classes. Just read and take test basically every test is from reading, no discussion boards no interaction, it's an easy A but lots of reading
Cruseturner is great on many levels. Clear on what material he is lecturing about and goes somewhat by the book. Has dates of all tests and assignments posted and reminds you of what is expected on them. Great attitude and extremely nice. Gives some extra credit, but as long as you listen, you should do grand. Tests are all weighted 25% as well.
Tests come from lectures. During the lectures he lets you know what will be on the tests. Plenty of opportunity for extra credit, you had to do it before the test but questions from the extra credit were on the tests. Questions from the in-class quizzes were on the tests too. Do the study guides and you will do well on the tests.
Read, test, repeat... There is one essay, that is really easy. The test questions are right out of the book pretty much in order, easy a if you put in the effort.
Great and caring professor, I highly recommend her. I took her online HIST_1302 class, you are required to do some reading but the readings are very interesting and informative. She is always quick to reply to any email questions.
His lectures are always really fun and his tests and quizzes aren't hard if you listen in class. One thing that's really nice about his class is that his final isn't cumulative.
Another wonderful teacher. Entertaining but informative lectures. Cares deeply about the subject and enjoys his students. There is a decent amount of reading, as is standard for a history course, but manageable. Roughly 3 textbook chapters per exam plus just a little extra side reading. Great teacher, and an easy A if you show up and read.
Took this over the summer. Grade is made up of quizzes and the final. Must read to get A's on quizzes. Very caring and helpful. Offers extra credit on almost every quiz. Every quiz/exam is "open book" so take notes.
I would definitely take this instructor again, i'm taking online class it's not hard at all, very organized. the test are open book test which helps, there's no need to cheat. If you read the chapter you will be fine, all the answers are in the chapter if you read and underline, he always reply to emails soon, I never had a problem.
He (yes, he. I know, the name throws you) is a little off the wall, but gives solid lectures and encourages student participation. He does very little from the textbook, but requires you read 2 novels and gives you tests over them. Very few assignments so most of your grade comes from the tests, which aren't difficult even if you aren't prepared.
10 out of 10 would recommend!
I absolutely LOVED Mr. Cruseturner. His lectures are very entertaining and interactive! I took him for 1301 and 1302 history and I enjoyed his class both.
I took him for both 1301 and 1302 and I like him so much because he is truly passionate about what he teaches and also quirky funny. He gives extra credit opportunities for tests and quizzes but go to class ready to take notes because his lectures are full of content and he will tell you when something is going to be on the test.
Oh my gosh! What a GREAT class! I took 1301 & 1302 online, & I was actually interested in the textbook! The quizzes for the class are not hard, literal quotes from the textbook. Online you get to take open book. There are a couple reading assignments, not bad, also easy quizzes. Final was so easy. Great professor! I actually learned A LOT
Mr. Cruseturner is a great history professor. He has a laid back teaching method that I found very helpful as a freshman. I'm taking his class again for History 1302.
He likes to talk a lot and get off subject. However, he basically gives you all the answers to the major tests through his quizzes and lectures so pay attention!
Class is super simple and almost impossible to fail. He is helpful and very kind. Taking him again this semester.
took this class as dual credit and was awesome! need to go to class because he gives test questions away daily in lectures! would take his class again!
I took two classes with Mr. Cruseturner and loved the class. He is very passionate and really wants to help students understand. He does give quizzes that can be tricky but I almost always got As on them. Just do your part and you'll do great. Also TAKE GOOD NOTES.
Awesome
Amazing teacher
This professor is extremely difficult on a high school dual credit level. The course I am taking is dual credit US History and in the past six weeks, we have gone over more Europen History than anything.
Well organized on brightspace. Everything is easy to find and I don't have to worry about missing an assignment. I am in a full time nursing program and I am still able to complete the course with flexible schedules.
Mr. Cruseturner was very understanding when I was going through a difficult time. He gave me the opportunity to get things done. He is greatly appreciated and easy to communicate with.
I took this class as a minimester and it was great. Mr. Cruseturner is a great lecturer and will post lectures that give you answers to the exams/paper etc. there were 15 chapter quizzes, a couple document quizzes, one short (300 word) paper, and a short final. overall great class and great professor. take him!
Really enjoyed Professor Cruseturner's history classes. Took both online and did great. Make sure to keep up with the reading and take your quizzes ASAP. He's quick to answer any questions you have and provides good feedback! Highly recommend his classes, just get ready to read a lot.
Professor Cruseturner is amazing. He truly cares about the academic success of his students. He is open to suggestions and will work with you on getting assignments completed. HE IS AMAZINGLY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT HISTORY!!! I recommend him for your online needs but fairly certain he is just as great in class. I will be taking History 1302 with him.
This Profersssor is GREAT!!!!!, I WOULD TAKE HIM A MILLION TIMES IF I COULD. History was my worst subject and I passed his class with an A . I WOULD TELL EVERYONE to TAKE HIM!!!
Mr. Cruseturner taught me more than any history teacher I've ever had! He truly cares for his students and their success. He often got off subject during his lectures, but I adapted throughout the semester. Be ready to listen to multiple hour-long podcasts and to read your textbook. He's super easy to contact via email or in person.
AWESOME! Professor Cruseturner is very understanding. I would recommend keeping yourself busy while listening to his lecture podcasts, tests are easy too. His communication is on point as well!
I took HIST 1302 from Professor Cruseturner during the summer. There is a short quiz due nearly every class day. No discussion boards. He uses podcast lectures, textbooks, and Youtube content. I enjoyed the class, managed to pull an A, and learned a lot.
Professor Cruseturner really cares about history, and he works hard to make sure it's engaging for his students, too. His tests, quizzes, and assignments are all easy, and he's a fair grader. If you keep up with the chapter assignments each week, you'll have no trouble. His recorded lectures are about an hour long each, but they're each worth it.
I took him for a winter minimester. It was A LOT of reading! get the ebooks on kindle or something. the tests are open book. I also used the speechify app to help with the reading. His podcasts are long but just speed them up and take notes. quizzes are easy if you take notes. Don't fall behind but he does drop the lowest grade.
I took both of his classes and I enjoyed them both and I don't really care for history that much. He is a very good professor and great with responding to emails. Get ready to read and listen to his lectures on the podcast, but if you take good notes you should be fine. Such a great professor.
Professor Cruseturner has been one of my favorite professors at MCC. He is very personable and cares about his relationships with his students. The class consisted of in person and video lectures/ textbook readings, which you take quizzes over. The quiz questions show back up on the exam, so make sure to take the quizzes seriously.
Professor Cruseturner is a great lecturer who makes history engaging. The class includes quizzes, exams, and a short paper. Attend the lectures, stay on top of the readings, and use Unstuckstudy for study prep - you'll do well in this class!
reading is critical
Fun Professor to have. Goes off topic, but enjoyable to be around none the less
Lots of Quizzes, a couple exams, be ready to study a lot but overall easy class and no homework, but stay on top of your work or your cooked.
