Ashley is the greatest instructor on campus. She lives what she teaches. She often tells stories about her husband and other family members as examples of what she's teaching about that day. She grades on a point system so it's easy to get an A. She posts all her PowerPoint lectures onto ANGEL, so it's easy to print a copy to follow & take notes.

Come to class, do the homework, and participate. Fun and laid back class. You can learn a lot of communication skills that will help you later on

Ashley is the best teacher ive had in college so far. Her class is laid back and you get to have fun. Its like a student is teaching because she is acts like the students and is able to have fun unlike some of the teachers at juco.

i took interpersonal communications with her, she was awesome! She makes class so easy, fun and interestion, hardly uses the book and puts all notes on angel, rarely has homework or papers but super easy grade when you do have homework. EASY A! you can easly have over 100% in the class. highly encourage you to take her.

She is clear and the tests are easy. My only complaint is the fact that she talks too much about her husband, and also discloses private details about her life that students don't need to know in my opinion. Otherwise, her lectures are clear and her grading fair and easy. I recommend her though.

Mrs. Vasquez (or Ashley if you prefer) is a great teacher! She's quirky and always has a question of the day- great way to open up class. She moves through the slides quickly, so write quickly, and be sure to go back and study for tests because they're pretty rough if you don't. Definitely take this class though. It's great.

Vasquez was fun, but I didn't feel like I learned much. That's more the fault of the class than the teacher though.

Class was fun and easy. There's some around-the-room sharing at the beginning of class, a small warning for people with anxiety, but you can always skip this sharing stuff. Gotta read a few pages in the book every now and then if you still need some more clarification, nothing major there. Attendance isn't mandatory. Overall, would take again.

it would be impossible to not pass this class with a "A". She does not care if you come to class but i would advice you to come because she has a lot of class participation points. The class is easy if you show up and pay attention- 2 tests, plus final, 2 smaller papers, 1 eight-page term paper, some group assignments and a few worksheets. Participation counts so take part in class discussions and show up for class. She made the class interesting and fun. Would absolutely again!

Read the book, write your papers, and show up to class to give your speeches and you will pass. Lots of extra credit opportunities as well. You can't go wrong with taking her class!

I only had Professor Vasquez for the second half of my course but she was awesome! She runs the on campus class in a very laid back way which made giving speeches a lot easier. Take her!

Prof. Vasquez was AMAZING!! I was absolutely dreading taking public speaking. I was so nervous at first, but Prof. Vasquez made the class SO easy and relaxed. I took her online class. You do all of the quizzes, outlines, discussions, and other work online then you show up 4 times(1 speech per month)during the semester. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Public speaking wasn't my easiest class but I definitely learned how to speak better in public. You will not become the perfect speaker after this class but, it sets a great foundation to continue to improve your public speaking.

Ashley is very smart and personable. She really cares about who you are as a person. The information is easy to understand and if you show up and participate, you will get a A. She has a laid back personality but definitely notices if you continually miss class. She is always available to answer questions and wants to help you do well.

Prof Vasquez has been one of the best teachers I've ever had at JCCC. She is hilarious and really cares about her students. 10/10 would recommend taking her Interpersonal Communications class, favorite class ever.

Great professor! Explains how the semester will go and follows it great! Has great class discussions, don't skip test or speech days it will bring your grade down! Public Speaking class was awesome!

She graded very easily on the assignments. It's so hard to fail the class! On the review day, she would write down everything you need to know for the test. I love her movie term paper because it gives me a chance to apply the concept taught in the class.

I took her public speaking class last semester and it was great! even though I hate public speaking, but in her class, YOU WILL LEARN SOMETHING USEFUL! you might not going to love public speaking after all but at least you'll able to learn useful way and tips to speak confidently in front of people. She is very fair in grading. EX CRE is given.

Ashley is one of the few professors out there that actually care that you learn and succeed. She makes this very easily possible as long as you show up, and do the tiny amount of work she assigns. She is hilarious and has a no nonsense attitude. This has, by far, been the least stressful, demanding class I've ever taken.

AWESOME Public Speaking professor! Lines out speeches for you, you just have to fill in the information pertaining to your topic. Offers extra credit and is always available when needing help with your speech. Makes it as easy and stress free as it can get with the dreaded speaking. Note-cards are allowed on all speeches.

Mrs. Vasquez is an amazing professor, she made public speaking fun and didn't grade hard on the little things. She doesn't mind if you're a nervous speaker she just cares about the effort but into your speech, as long as you try she wont be hard on you at all. She's also HILARIOUS!

She is a nice teacher, my only comment is that I wish she'd give more feedback on some assignments. The first speech she doesn't look at delivery, so you have some time to learn the skills. She also has many extra credit opportunities, so definitely take advantage of those. If you have to take public speaking, take it with Ashley!

Ashley was great! I hate the thought of speaking in front of people and terrible at it, but Ashley and the class was encouraging and supportive. Directions are clear. Read the book, follow instructions, and do your speech and you will pass.

I loved Ashelys class shes really nice and easy going. You do have participation, but it isn't as bad as you think. she makes interpersonal communication really fun and I loved going to her class everyday if you do have social anxiety like me it can be tricky. But I would definitely recommend her. :)

I LOVED! Ashley. This was my first online class ever so I was a little nervous for it. She was so awesome and organized I was surprised by how nice it was. There was a quiz, discussion, and assignment due every week and if you did then it would be easy to get a good grade. There's a big paper at the end but that's the only really hard assignment.

Ashley is THE BEST. She is funny and cares about her students. I really enjoyed her lectures and stories. A few papers but short and not difficult. I had the book but didn't use it once. She gives you all the information you need to succeed. Take her she's awesome! Almost wanted to change my major to communications because of this class.

Loved Professor Ashley! I took the hybrid class and she is very organized. Grades quickly and gives you very good feedback. She is also very accessible. Class can be intense at the beginning but then it slows down towards the end.

I took the hybrid online/face to face public speaking class. You have to show up 4 times in a semester to give speeches. There is a textbook with quizzes, but those were not difficult - the speeches are worth much more anyway. Vasquez is pretty funny and laid back, so she made giving speeches not so intimidating.

Ashley is a great person and a great professor. I recommend not writing everything out word-for-word after your first speech or it can become habitual to read off your cards. Fair amount of group activities.

Great Professor! Her lectures are fun, but could possibly be a little overwhelming for introverts. The transition to online was fairly smooth. If you keep on top of your homework you will pass. She encourages students to try hard and she wants everyone to pass with an A.

This class was always online so the virus didn't really affect it. The syllabus was followed which made the class super easy to stay on top of. There was even the opportunity to work ahead. All of her assignments and quizzes came straight from the book. The discussions were interesting. She truly cares about all of her students.

Professor Vasquez is simply magnificent. I dodged taking public speaking for 3 years, but it was finally time. I chose her class due to reviews just like the one I'm writing. She's approachable and funny. She gives you guidelines for speeches. Follow the rules, get a good grade. Simple as that. Please take her class, you won't regret it!

I cannot say enough good things about Ashley. She showed up to class everyday with a smile, no matter what she was going through. I have taken 2 classes with her now, and if more were offered then I would take them. She helped me during a tough time and gave me advice as a friend would. I respect her so much. I wish I could give over 5 stars.

This was by far the best course I took this semester. I would recommend her to anyone looking to take public speaking. She had the due dates set from the first day so you do not have to worry about missing something. In the actual zoom calls for speech days, she was super nice and friendly and made everyone feel at ease. grades super nicely!

This class was really easy online. You read a chapter every week took a quiz and wrote a two page paper. It may sound like a lot but its simple and she gives great feedback and is easy to access outside of class.

Professor Vasquez was so awesome! I took her for online speech over the summer, and it was super easy and maneagable. The workload was not bad at all, as I was able to enjoy my summer and spending minimal time towards this class while also getting an A. She was so nice, and is very straightfoward so you will never miss out on anything !

Prof. Vasquez would make you want to give a speech in front of a million people. The open-book quizzes were easy with the textbook and she is willing to help you with any angle of your speech. Study for the quizzes and practice your speech and you'll have an easy A!

Taking Prof. Vasquez for interpersonal communication is the best choice that any student will make for this class. Basically, if you show up in class and pay attention to her lectures you will do great. She is an easy grader and a very friendly professor ! Took her class for public speaking and I enjoyed it till the last day. There aren't assigned readings or pop quizzes. Provides feedback and she has a good sense of humor. The biggest grade that will count for the class will be the speeches.

alot of reading but its because the quiz answers are all there. ashley was amazing and even though there were essays for each chapter they're more like telling personal stories that relate to the chapter. everything is clear and easy to understand.

she was absolutely stellar for my honors public speaking class. her instruction periods were basically little tidbits on different aspects of public speaking. there was a massive focus on growth and improvement, which really lightened the workload and pressure on us. she was phenomenal. loved her class so so much!!

Professor Rader is wonderful! Easily one of my best instructors! She sends weekly announcements highlighting what's due, and her online course setup is straightforward and easy to interact with. She also provides personal feedback on assignments, and it's clear that she cares about her students. I would definitely take another course from her.

I would recommend taking her as a teacher online! She has you do 1 discussion, 1 quiz, and 1 assignment which is an essay per week. The class is pretty easy and you have a week to complete the things above. She does take late work but only for half the points. Overall she is a good teacher!!

Ashley was FANTASTIC! Oh my gosh, I absolutely loved this course so much and the way she laid out each week. It was structured and simple to follow along and to work ahead. The expectations were clear, and she was great to communicate with. The only reason I didn't get an "A" is because of discrepancies on my part. Great course overall!

WOW WOW WOW, personally one of the most fun i've ever had with any school criteria, I wish I could have taken it with less courses so I could have really spent time with it. Very straightforward class as long as you do your work and actually have fun with the topics this course will be a breeze!

Professor Rader is a crazy good professor. She cares about being genuine when you pick a topic and has been a guiding light during my first semester. She also produces a healthy amount of engagement through her questions of the day.

She cares about what she does and makes a material heavy class very bearable.

I am still in this class. I just want to do this now so I do not forget. Dr. Rader is by far one of the best professors I've ever had. She is HILARIOUS, so kind, and very knowledgeable. She makes class time fun. She requires a moderate amount of work but it is 10000 percent doable. I recommend taking her for any/all comms classes.

This is a very easy class. Grading criteria is clear, feedback is helpful, and it seems like she actually cares about students.

I would highly recommend you take Dr. Rader for Interpersonal Communication. The textbook is covered when you pay for the class, so you don't have to worry about spending any additional money. Dr. Rader is passionate and cares about her students. She also puts key information from the reading on Canvas, which is great for studying.

The best professor! This class was very easy and I loved Dr.Rader teaching style. One thing I will say is that assignments are all due at 7:00pm so it was difficult to remember since I'm so used to 11:59. She is very understanding and quick to respond to emails. Offers extra credit up to 50 points and a chance to turn in late assignments.

She grades super easy. Don't use AI on assignments you will get a 0. Assignments are journal style writing.Would recommend you taking her class if you need an easy A and want to better understand yourself.
