Awesome teacher and person, would recommend to anyone, great sense of humor
I would definitely recommend him for this class. It's so easy!
Excellent teacher. Very friendly. Attend class & you will do fine. Nice guy.
Great prof...tends to go over things to much but he does prepare you and he care
Learned alot! Pulls no punches! Crazy sense of humor
Unorganized, fun sense of humor (know jokes), great professor and nice person
good teacher; receptive to questions and after time turoring; almost too nice
very nice, yet tests you can't finish,if you are not a good test taker dont take
Great Prof, cares a ton about his students. Takes too much time explaining.
Unclear, inconsistent, absentminded. Learn more on your own than from him
Goto class!! Cheat sheet for exams, but they are hard!! funny prof.. will help
Cheet cheat, hard tests though... Not too sure about this guy
Nice guy, easy classes, but sometime gets boring, goes over things too much
funy guy where u learn things

Great guy,great teacher-cares about us-very helpful-Very Recommended!! ;-)
Great guy. Wants all of his students to succeed.
Awesome professor--knows his stuff!! I would take him again
nicest and most helpful prof ever, i am taking him for more classes!!!
very unlear, tough tests, but he is very willing to try to help you
Unclear, hard class. He is helpful though. Can be funny.

Easy class, helpful prof, more mathematical approach to this course = CAKE
Test average was 90% and he got us pizza for it!
awesome teacher. cares about students. easy class

A funny guy, has pizza party if class averages B. Very unclear but easy tests, says he will be there to help but seldom is.
Difficult, hard class. Says he will be there to help but never is.
pretty unclear, but class is easy if you show up and do the homework. Computer homework can be pretty difficult
Good teacher. Willing to help. Good personality. Sometimes hard to understand.
It is no wonder he is a favorite SSB prof. The man know his stuff and is beyone helpful. HE even gives you his cell to get a hold of him. The homework is easy and you actually learn. Great man.
Pizza Party if class average is a B. Funny and kind. Easy professor!
Excellent prof. for this class. He seems disorganized at times, but corrects it with his outstanding humor. Class was easy and he did most of the homework assignments in class. Exams were tough, but reflected the material. Pizza party was really nice.
Although some topics he covers are complicated he makes them easy to understand. will be available to help you ANYTIME you need. Class homework contributes to learning in the class.
DONT TAKE THIS COURSE!!!!From what I heard his 366 was a good course, but don't take 362.He is very disorganized and he grades the homework with whatever mood he is in and he is very unclear with what he is looking for and can't really help you.
He's really bad at grading papers so revise them when he gives it back and keep track of your grades. Otherwise, nice teacher.
He would be great if you spoke Indian...VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND AVOID
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. VERY DISORGANIZED. RUSHES THROUGH MATERIAL, AS YOU WILL HAVE TO DO ON TEST. HOMEWORK DONE ON EXCEL. DIFFERENT TEACHER+SAME CLASS= EASIER CLASS, THE ONLY FORMULA YOU NEED TO KNOW.
WHY DOES EVERYONE WANT AN EASY CLASS? THIS IS COLLEGE AFTERALL! PROF. KUMAR IS AWESOME. IF YOU ACT INTERESTED AND PUT FORTH AN EFFORT, YOU WILL GET A GOOD GRADE AND ACTUALLY LEARN SOMETHING. HE IS VERY HELPFUL AND A VERY NICE MAN. GVSU SHOULD BE THANKFUL THEY HAVE A PROF. THAT TAUGHT AT UOFM.
Disorganized. Loses papers/HW. Class average was in the 90's. Class is boring. Cheat sheet. Not hard to get a good grade
Professor Kumar is a great professor. He knows the material and is very willing to help. He is a little disorganized, but not to the point of it affecting the class. If you show up to class and do the homework, you will get a good grade and learn the material.
Professor Kumar is a great guy. I really enjoys teaching and is always there for his students. The class is pretty easy, but I wouldn't underestimate it. There are some difficult sections and it does take studying.
Ashok knows his material. This class was a cakewalk... homework took a lot of time on Excel, but he gives so much extra credit, it is almost impossible not to get an A. Disorganized but funny. I enjoyed the class and have no big complaints. I recommend Professor Kumar.
funny guy. nice guy. short with you when have questions in class. willing to meet with you any time to help. come to class, pop quizzes for free points.
Know excel. If you don't, he will help you at any time. He makes himself available enough that all students should get an A. Nice guy and has pizza if the class does well on tests. Business students looking for jobs in production field should take this class.
Great Prof. Almost impossible to get an A but you will have to apply yourself. The homework can be difficult at times but he is more than willing to help. Get pizza when do well on tests and plenty of extra credit.
I didn't like him as much as everyone else. If you are looking for an easy class, take it with him. If you want to actually learn something from an organized professor (which he is not) look elsewhere.
Great professor, learned alot
took this class as the final elective required for an mba. had no real interest in any of the remaining courses, thought this one would be a cakewalk. should have been...the material was simple, need to know excel, but the prof was so scatterbrained, he could never clarify his hw requirements.
Know excel. The homework assignments were not difficult, but required a lot of time. Prof was unorganized, but extremely willing to put in time to help his students.
This man is a mess. I have never seen anyone so disorganized. It is a small miracle he can find the classroom each day. Extremely frustrating. Easy material but poorly presented. STEER CLEAR.
You can tell he really cares about his students. Wants you to do well, and pushes you to understand. Participating in class is a major plus! He's pretty unorganized at times, but ulimately you'll receive a good grade in the class.
this class was not enjoyable at all, very unorganized and hard to understand his terrible accent. I think he is more interested in his own research than his job as a prof. Class is pretty easy but still a waste i thought, i didnt really like this class
DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! Never used it and I got an A. First couple hw's are time consuming. Overall the class is super easy, however can be very boring. Takes him forever to go through PP slides. He is unclear but is also the most willing to help prof I've had. Nice guy
He is worthterless, doesnt know anything, and thinks he's always right and there's always problems with the test because some answers should be right. DONT buy the book, and avoid him if possible!
I don't understand why people are complaining. He is so easy! everything but the first quiz is open note. Hw can be confusing, so do it early and have him check it over and fix mistakes for full credit. It's so easy to get an A you just cannot procrastinate on assignments. Take him in the summer fewer projects!
Knows the material, yes, but thats all he knows. His lectures are extremly unorganized and spends a good portion of each class correcting his power point slides. VERY ARAGANT, will talk down to you infront of class and durring his office hours when nobody is around he will REALLY lay it on. straight up JERK!!!
Had a hard time with the language (he is from India) most everyone didn't have a problem. I studied a great deal and it didn't show in the grade. He is willing to help the only thing is if it is just a question about a topic, not getting the big picture he isn't a resource to use looks to blame something except what you think is the problem.
WAAAAYYY easy. I'm not much of a studier and did great in this class. Allowed cheat sheets for the tests and quizes, homework graded super easy, extra credit offered like crazy. He's funny and super nice. Take this class for sure!
His tests and quizes are very easy. You can use a cheat sheet on all of them. The homeworks can be challenging but he is a nice guy and is willing to help out in his office, office hours or not. Do your homework make good cheat sheets, you will do well.
He was very knowledgable on the material in class. Used powerpoint slides and you can use a cheat sheet for every quiz and test but the first quiz. Everyone can get an A if you show up, use your whole cheat sheet, and participate in class. Nice guy as well and very helpful if you don't understand something. I'm taking him again for 361!!
Easy, fun class, bought class pizza, learned a lot
worst prof Ive ever had. likes to toot his own horn more than teach. he's extremely organized, and tests are straight forward...but to derive what he is teaching is extremely hard. more concerned with the damn check marks than actual participation
Such a kind and helpful professor. As long as you put in an effort, he will do everything he can to make sure you understand his class and get an A.
GREAT professor!! SPeaks a little monotone and sometimes hard to hear, he can be a little all over the place sometimes, but he's great! He doesn't get as much credit as he deserves. He's EXTREMELY smart,& is available to help u 24/7! Yes! for real, 24/7!! This is my 2 year at GV and he's the best prof i've had so far! Have jokes, he loves humor!
Professor Kumar may or may not be disconnected from reality. His lectures were somewhat borning, and he always tried to crack jokes during class. He gives out a lot of extra credit, and it isn't too hard to get an A in his class.
Great Professor, makes jokes and keeps the class interested. 5 homework assignments that can be challenging if you miss a class, as the material isn't covered in the book, and hard to learn via PowerPoint without being there. Exams are straightforward. You can use a cheat sheet. If the class does well enough, he buys pizza. I would take again.
He's an easy teacher and our class did really well so he bought us pizza. Make sure to attend most all classes or else you might not understand the HW. Other than that he lets you se cheat sheets and gives a lot of extra credit...basically easy A if you do the work!.
Attendance is required or else you will be lost. Homework projects can be very long, toilsome, and difficult. He will help if you ask. Cheat sheet allowed for tests. I would recommend taking him.
Ashok is a good professor, but can be kind of hard to follow at times during the lecture. He also makes a lot of mistakes when giving examples, but gives credit for pointing them out. Gives lots of credit for HW and will always help if needed. I'm on the fence about this guy, I most likely won't take him again, but I can why people like him.
I hate this guy! Worst professor I've ever had. My nemesis.
He really likes himself. Doesn't use a textbook because he doesn't agree with them. Each Homework assighment takes 5 hours, exam 10. Avoid if possible! You will regret taking the class!!
Very easy class. He offers a ton of bonus points. "Cheat sheets" allowed for every quiz and exam except the first. Very responsive to students, whether in class or via e-mail. Homework assignments are time consuming and he isn't always clear on what he exactly wants, but he grades very leniently. I would recommend him.
Funny guy and knows his stuff. Amazing how he remembers all the formulas. Cheat sheet on every quiz/test except first quiz. Amazingly helpful, either via email or in person. He even gives you his home number in case youre REALLY in need of help. TONS of bonus points. DO THE SUMMARY PAGE ON HW, 5 easy bonus points.
Kumar means well but the material is covered very slowly and is extremely boring. I would not suggest that anyone take this class because although it is easy it is nearly impossible to sit through an entire class without falling asleep. Kumar is very helpful if you come to him with questions!
Class wasn't that difficult, but homeworks, cases, and final were all very time consuming. Professor didn't seem organized, almost like he was distracted by something. Spent too much time at beginning of class logging in, looking for things, etc. Class was all about manufacturing (didn't reference service industry). Professor was a nice guy.
I would like to preface this review with the fact that I received a very good grade in this class. That being said, Kumar was not a good professor. He boasts of his own accomplishments often, he says the book is mandatory to have and never referenced it once. His class was unorganized, inefficient (often repeated lectures), unclear, and commonsense
Terrible professor. He is not well organized and never prepared for class. He doesn't have good time management making lectures not very effective and hard to do the lengthy homework assignments. He seems like a nice guy but when asking him questions he becomes very defensive. He also preaches technology as so important but doesn't know how to use.
Professor Kumar is one of the worst professors I have had at GVSU. He preaches how important technology is yet literally can barely use the web much less log onto the comp. He claims to want to help his students but is very standoffish when asked a question. He is very hard to follow and often even confuses himself & blames his mistakes on others.
Kumar was impossible to understand. The workload was insane and he would constantly change the requirements with no warning. WORST CLASS EVER! Final took me days. Do not take him so so boring!
He is a really nice guy, but honestly doesn't even take the time to see what he's doing (grammar errors in almost all emails and always will mess up)--that being said, he does try his hardest to teach, but its kinda hard because he's sometimes not the best explainer. Class is relatively easy. Gives lot of extra points
One of the most ridiculous classes I've taken at Grand Valley. Homework assignments are tedious and take hours. He is not helpful and boasts about himself the majority of the time.
WORST professor at GV by far. He should not have a job. He does not know how to work technology. He makes several grammar mistakes in every single power point and email. Homework takes forever even though he gives answers and then accuses you of cheating even though the answers are given and then will give you no credit DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!
Great professor loved the class
Easy enough class, not a difficult grader. There are two or three assignments that do take a while. Not a fan of operations in general, so for me it was more the class I disliked than the prof. Errors in powerpoint I feel are more to get participation, could be wrong though. To get this bs class out of the way, I recommend taking it with him.
Class was pretty easy. Kumar on the other hand never starts class on time, cannot use technology. Millions of emails a day because he doesn't know what he wants, test are nothing like lectures and take forever, but can use one page of notes. Does not cover material well, hard to understand. When taking the final does not give full exam time.
Not a good professor. Not clear at all on what he wants. Test and quizzes are timed. The only good thing I got from this class was some excel knowledge 5/7 HW assignments were to be done on excel
I went into this class thinking it wouldn't be too bad, that I'd at least grasp the concepts without much issue. Wrong. Kumar lacks the ability to explain things clearly during class, which is horrible considering the powerpoints he posts on BlackBoard are cryptic without explanation. Attendance and participation are mandatory as well. Avoid him!
Dr Kumar seemed very scattered this term he was unclear in his lectures and often late to class and scattered. He offered plentiful office hours and was extremely good at explaining the material one on one. If you take him I recommend you slot 15-30 minutes for each assignment and test to go to his office, it will help your grade considerably.
Professor Kumar really knows what he is talking about. Unfortunately, he is not always the best at explaining it to undergrad students. The upside is that if you have any question for any reason, he is willing to talk on the phone 247. Yes, he will answer his cell phone at 2 am to answer a question you have on that case study you procrastinated on
Kumar can be hard to follow sometimes, but he is always willing to help. His exams average a grade of above an 85% and he brings in pizza after the first exam if the class average is over 85%. He offers tons of extra credit points throughout the class. If you pay attention in class and listen closely when he explains projects it is an easy class.
Can be difficult to understand but is always willing to help. Tons of extra credit are available on every assignment and tests are exactly what he says they are going to be. Show up, bring a laptop to class and you'll do just fine. Textbook was never opened and I have a 99%...
Pretty easy class. Just make sure you go to class and don't skip. Homework wasn't to bad and he gives tons of extra credit out so do the homework. He is also very helpful and will do anything to help his students succeed.
Pretty good guy. Class isnt to bad if you show up and listen.
Cool guy, sometimes hard to understand. Class is pretty straight forward and he is their to help if you have questions. Homework can take some time so be prepared. Exams are pretty easy just follow what he says. Gives tons of extra credit.
Good professor, wants you to do well.
Good professor, wants you to do well. Cool guy if you talk with him and get to know him.
Good professor, wants you to do well. Cool guy if you talk with him and get to know him. Not really that organized and can be better about that.
Worst Teacher I have ever had--made my semester miserable. Not clear with what he wants Lectures are confusing and dosnt bring in real world examples As a class we never understood what we were doing and why NIce guy but HORRIBLE TEACHER
Kumar is a losing his mind. He constantly is posting things to read but he won't post what you are supposed to read! He is very difficult to follow in class but if you don't go you will be even more lost. If possible take a different professor. Oh and the textbook was never opened so save your money
Nice guy, can be confusing at times. wants people to do well. throws a pizza party if exam avg is above 85. exams are tough and homework is time consuming, but he gives a lot of extra credit on the homework assignments, so make sure to do it! Dont buy the book.
Kumar is an awesome professor. There is a lot of homework and it's time consuming. He gives out a lot of extra credit. He is willing to help out students at any time of the day. Do not buy the book! I never used it!
Stay far away from Kumar. He should NOT be a professor at GVSU. He is the worst professor and person I have ever encountered in life. He sets up students up for failure and tests that are impossible to get even a 50% on. I have a 3.9 and I am writing a letter to the dean along with other students about how awful this class is.
Kumar makes understanding concepts nearly impossible. The homework is incredibly long and tests are overly difficult for the material and how it's taught. The only savior is that he offers so much extra credit. Lectures are impossibly long and boring. Would not recommend.
this class is very boring and homework is very long. He curves a lot of tests and quizzes and lets you have a cheat sheet. but at times he is very hard to understand, especially with homework, quiz, and tests requirements. I am just glad this class is over. he is very nice, bought the class pizza before finals. No book needed.
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Such a nice guy, tests are difficult but you can literally fail all your exams and still get a good grade with the amount of extra credit he offers. No where near as much work as other MGT 366 Professors. Average grade in my class was an A-. Attend class everyday and get participation points and he does homework in class.
If you can do NOT take him! Out of every professor I've taken at GVSU he is by far the most unprofessional and closed minded as any. He packs all of the homework assignments into the end of the course, Exams are long and timed, so if you are a slow test taker do not take him! If you actually want to learn something take someone else.
Kumar is one of the most unclear and incompetent professors that I have came across at GV. Tests are timed leaving more than half the class unable to complete the entire test. HW requirements are unclear. He says you are able to contact him 24 hours around the clock but will get aggravated with any questions that you have. Avoid taking him.
Professor Kumar was easily my favorite professor this semester. He offers an insane amount of extra credit on all of the homework assignments, and you even get a cheat sheet for tests. If you need extra help, just ask. The subject matter can be difficult and confusing, but it is very doable. I would take this class again.
Very nice guy. Incredibly boring class. I would recommend Ashok for this class though. The homework is easy (there is about seven or so) and he offers twenty points extra credit on every assignment and some extra credit on exams. You could easily end this class with above a 100%, which many people in my class did. SO much extra credit it is unreal.
Professor Kumar is very hard to understand at times. He gives out a lot of homework - way more than what should be expected from students, but he also gives out a TON of extra credit. Although he isn't the greatest professor, he was fairly easy. By doing all of the extra credit, my grade went up a whole letter!
He is hard to understand and the tests are very hard. Nice guy but terrible teacher. He would send out emails with info and it would always be followed with a follow up email because he put the wrong info in it. He takes days to reply to your emails. I would never take him again.
Old and forgetful. Has experience in the field but just an awful teacher. Homework takes very long to complete and he screws everyone on the final.
Ashok is a very funny and nice guy. He gives lots of extra credit, so if you do it, you will get a good grade. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. You will for sure pass the class because he won't let anyone drop and if you do, he will give you a passing grade and not an F. LOVE KUMAR
Kumar was a decent professor, but his lectures were insanely slow-paced. Can be hard to understand at times, but not a lot. But the amount of extra credit this man hands out should be illegal. You could fail the exams and still walk out with a good grade. Lots of excel projects, and they are time consuming, so don't procrastinate! I'd recommend him
Prof. Kumar is a really amazing guy. Operations MGT does not come naturally to me, but I went to his office hours often and he was SUPER helpful one on one. He gives tons of extra credit and allows a cheat sheet (both sides) for all exams and quizzes. I would definitely recommend him! He is a super sweet guy!
By far the worst Professor that I have ever had here at Grand Valley, did not explain a thing. Has a project due every week that takes at least 8 hours to complete. 3 exams that no one finishes on time. He barely even knows how to work a computer. He also made me contemplate changing my major after this class. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF. WHATEVER YOU DO
By far the most boring lectures I have sat through in 2 1/2 years of college. However he is a pretty decent person and getting a good grade is easy since there is extra credit everywhere you look in this class. Take him for the sake of your GPA, not as a fun class.
Very nice guy but his ability to teach is some of the worst I've experienced. He is one of those people that is very smart and understands the material he lectures on like the back of his hand, yet his ability to articulate this material is awful. This class is very painful because you will leave class not entirely sure how to do the next project.
Professor Kumar is very intelligent when it comes to Operations Management. DO NOT purchase the textbook! I did not use it once this entire semester. Also, he hands out a lot of extra credit throughout the semester. Granted, he hands out, I believe, 6-8 projects. 1 page cheat sheet is allowed on exams.
Hard course, but if you pay attention you will be fine. Class is intellectually challenging, but he offers office hours if you have trouble. Very nice guy, but don't miss class often because he gives bonus points if you participate, and the homework is impossible to do if you're not in class to get the formulas and spreadsheets the way he wants.
I'm only 3 weeks into this class and it's by far my least favorite course this semester. The professor is one of the nicest people I have ever met but is ability to convey the information (literally any information about anything) is just not there. This makes learning rather difficult. I don't advise taking courses with him.
I am now in my 3rd or 4th week of this course and it is by far my least interesting and least engaging class. It is close to impossible to understand what he is talking about due to his accent and general lack of ability whenit comes to explaining concepts. Seems like a smart guy but not an effective teacher by any means.
I literally watched a girl walk out of one of his exams with tears in her eyes. Good luck.
gives a bunch of Xc but he is the worst communicator i have ever had, his assignments often make no sense and the students ends up asking questions for most of the class and his answers STILL do not clarify what he wants. He will get in a zone and talk to the whiteboard while writing but stands in front of everything he writes so u cant read it
Kumar's class is difficult. The exams are hard but he offers so much extra credit that it is almost impossible not to get an A if you do it. The material is often confusing but Kumar wants everyone to succeed and is always willing to help.
He means well and is obviously very knowledgeable in his field. Tends to ramble on when he's lost the class. If you're looking for a challenge, I would recommend Kumar.
Probably wouldn't take a class with him again. Fair grader though. Just hate his teaching style. Can barely understand him. Tons of extra credit. His exams and quizzes are different and tricky. Very nice guy, just different kind of teaching
Attending class isn't needed to understand the content, but it is if you don't want him to fail you. Also, question his teaching style and he'll be sure to make things difficult for you. He's very knowledgeable, but his teaching style is not at all effective. If you get on his bad side then you might as well drop the class. Try another professor.
Great professor. There is always extra credit on the projects. I believe the extra credit on the last project gives you 40% more. He goes over what he wants you to do in the projects the week before. For our last project, he actually did the project in class with us. Cheat sheet is used for most exams.
You can skip the book if you show up for the lectures. Kumar is awesome, hes funny and he really cares and wants every student to do well. He offers TONS of extra credit so it should be impossible to not get an A.
Kumar is such a nice guy but not the best prof. He isn't good at explaining concepts. Come to class and he will show you exactly how to do the project formulas in Excel. Get on his good side and he will give you higher grades. Pizza party after midterms. One absence allowed before he starts deducting points.
Can be a tough class but he is so knowledgable and very nice. Always willing to help and makes sure that he is available for students almost anytime if they have questions. Different teaching style but he truly cares if you learn the material and if you don't understand what he just explained he will re-explain or rephrase as long as you ask
Kumar is awesome, make sure you do the homework and you're good. He even brought in his cat Gracie for the class to see. Cutest little guy around, I strongly recommend him especially if you like cats.
Do yourself a favor and do not take this class. Kumar is such a tough professor, if it is not his way you will lose points. There are many excel projects and he does not explain them well either. A lot of extra credit, but you cannot pass on that alone. There is not a book which is nice, but maybe one would help..
I have never met a professor that wants their students to succeed as much as Professor Kumar wants his students to. He has 24/7 availability and even gives the class his phone number. This class does require a lot of time to work on projects but I think all 366 classes do. He offers A TON of extra credit. I never once touched the book. Take Kumar!!
Very caring and good professor, don't bother buying the textbook, you won't need to use it. Gives plenty of extra credit opportunities so it shouldn't be difficult to finish with an A.
If you read his reviews, yes he cares and will do anything for students, but he is the most disorganized, technology illiterate, unclear, and hard to understand prof at GVSU. He created his own course/projects/objectives which don't align with the book. Many times left class exasperated about assignments/lectures. Don't need a book, as he wrote one
