Hes from India. He speaks english well enough to understand him. Hes a very nice guy. His class might be challenging to some because he expects a lot of writing. So your looking at 3 big papers but 2 including the midterm and final. If you are interested in this class take him you will learn a lot, he is very educated and an overall chill guy.

He's so straight. He is a cool ass teacher. His papers are long but theres only 3..!! no tests or quizzes. 10 articles..1 every week. thats it. GREAT TEACHER

There is one 4pg paper based on a book. The midterm is a paper too. There are 10 quizzes based on the book he assignes. The final is a 6pg paper, you'll have 2 weeks to complete it. There is also a sociological report that is 8-9pgs long. The class is really easy, but there are notes to take, and at least 30pgs to read a week.

Took for an internet class. He expects you to post online every day but the topics are very interesting. Lets the students talk and was always available for a face to face meeting. A sociology class like this promotes discussion and Asif seems very knowledgable. Other than the online quizzes and discussions, there is a 10 page paper due at the end.

Great teacher!!!! Extreamly helpful and his classes are always interesting. He lectures everyday but he allows the class to put in their imput and most of the time it will be a group disscussion instead of a lecture. He expects a 10 page paper but he gives you all the time in the world to do it. The midterm is part of your 10pg. Final is 9pgs. :)

Dr. Raza is a great professor. i took four courses and i learned the most in his class. you write 3 papers. the first is not bad and the last two are longer but if you read your material, you will do fine! very knowledgeable about many things. he is very helpful and i enjoyed the discussions. take him if you want a good grade!

Took online course. Very involved class, must post/respond in discussions weekly by certain day or grade lowers. There are about a dozen quizes based on reading, 2 papers (one book critique, one research report), and there's one movie to watch. I thought there was a lot of work/reading but its a interesting class and Raza is a great teacher.

His online Sociology class was so intellectually stimulating. He is so articulate; great sense of humor. He is so easy to follow. His delivery of speech is impeccable; a real gentleman. He treats everyone as an equal. You will change as a person after you take his Sociology class. Just keep up w/ the readings. Show you care. An A or B is attainable

in the beginning hr tries to scare you. but all you have to do is read the articles. and don't miss more than 5 days because he drop you a grade lower. but he's the best very smart and makes the class interesting. i learned so many things in his class.

Prof Raza is great and hes really funny. Class is pretty easy just show up, read before the quizes, and write really good long papers and you'll get an A. Sometimes he goes off and just talks but it will usually give u a laugh. Definetly recommend taking this class

Prof Raza is by far my most favorite professor. He is really fun, and really helpful. He gives a 10ques test once a wk. If you read the stories from the textbook you will have no problem. I think you do two major papers 6-10pgs. Farely easy, and interesting. Attendance is important. If u miss more than 5 classes u will drop a letter grade.

Online Course...definitely tons of writing!!! Quizzes are very easy. Only grades are a 10-12 pg paper, quizzes, and discussions. He's a VERY helpful guy and good personality! Taking an express class though, you have to be working hard!

I have taken 2 courses with Asif and he's wonderful. He's an excellent teacher, and you will definently learn something from his courses. I highly recommend him!! Though, if you take him over the summer he does move a little quick. Overall, the class is pretty easy!

He grades in a relatively difficult manner and is not forgiving on written assignments. He requires alot of participation in order to give you good discussion grades for his online course. I got an A, but I really earned it.

10 minute quiz you have to read for is AT HOME on your computer. You have all week. he is very' on point'. He made sure to pick a cheap textbook students must buy. Pay attention, do the quizzes, there are only 3 assignments for the entire class other than the quizzes, and that includes the final.

Took it online. Funny professor, very helpful. Easy tests. Tough but fair grader. Requires massive amount of class participation to get an A. I would recommend this class to anybody.

Dr. Raza is the best professor I have had. I already graduated from PBCC, but because I was never able to fit his course into my core program, I went back this summer SPECIFICALLY for his class. I learned more about the world than I ever knew before. Yes, reading is involved, but it is interesting! Take his class - you will be HAPPY YOU DID!!!

This professor is a very good teacher. I took him for a online classs and yes it is mandatory that you get online everyday but honestly I loved it considering that I was taking 5 classes. Also there is a quiz every week and a assignment due every week plus discussions.

This teacher is awesome, kind of hard to understand at times but it's sociology. He tries to make his class fun his quiz are easy and all you have to do is the rest..easy.If you have a problem he is willing to help. He answers your e-mail immediately wonderful teacher.

Took him for intro to Soc in class and am soc problems online. You HAVE to read. The actual class isn't hard, it is just a lot of work. The online class in particular was a lot of reading. Quizzes easy, he grades fair. An A is easy if you do what you are supposed to. He is a nice guy.

Took online express summer class. Quizzes easy, but you have to write two 600 words short essays a week which is a pain. Also a final 10 pg. paper. Teacher is very nit-picky (don't post answers late at night on last day,basically agree with what he says,post at least 15 times.) Takes points off for the silliest things, so talk to him. Got an "A"

He is VERY smart.To pass this class you MUST read weekly, the quizzes are based on the textbook and are posted weekly online. Besides that you gotta read another book and do a report on it,do interviews or community service.It is a time consuming class, but its very worth it. one of my favorite teachers by far. hes the chillest teacher youll find at pbcc no question. he does expect you to do your assignments and he doesnt take anything late but its like your main papers and stuff, no homework. oh and he doesnt really mind that your late because he likes the fact that you just showed up. trust me take him its a fun class

I took Dr. Asif for American Social Problems during the 6 week express term. It was A LOT of work. LOTS of assignments and a 12 page term paper. However, he was a great teacher and made the material interesting! if you do the work you will do well! Very dry sense of humor!

Prof. Raza is hands down one of the best teachers at PBSC. He's also the head of his department. Very witty and likes cracking jokes. Very easy Blackboard tests. Also incredibly helpful and willing to work with you. NOT recommended for those unwilling to change their preconceptions about life.

He's easily the best teacher at PBSC. Wears all white every day with black shades which is hilarious. He takes attendance but he doesnt care what time you show up. Quiz weekly but its online and crazy easy. TAKE HIM! its seriously worth it he's the straightest teacher ever

I had Raza for sociology online, I would recommend him. Everyweek he give you an assignment and quiz, but if you do a good job you get a good grade. The discussion online, is very intense and fun. He is a good professor. I didn't read any of the articles the whole semester and managed to get at least a 9 out of 10 on all the quizzes. Attendance is important because every class there is a quiz a current event article due. He is super liberal and has a dry sense of humor which i found hilarious. The paper and final are easy.

You have a quiz each class period that comes from the reading in the textbook and his lectureor powerpoint. the class consists of a 6 page book report, an 8 page research report and a 9 page final exam paper. personally i didnt like him or the class. the class is extremely boring. dont take it unless your serious of becoming a sociology major.

Some of his recordings are hard to hear but I found if I just plug in my headphones, I can hear, no problem. He is a good teacher, gives quick responses, not a ton of work. Just do the work and you will be fine. Don't be lazy.

You have to read a book and write a report on it, its easy I read the book and wrote in in 4 days exactly (procrastinated) Theres a research report about 3 peoples work lives at the end. A lot of work but do-able. DONT FALL BEHIND . Learned a lot.

At first Professor Raza seems very intimidating & mean, but thats only because he doesn't like big classes! He is an amazing Professor and as time goes on you will start to like him more and more. He assigns 3 major essays and they are very long so I suggest getting a head start on them. He is an easy grader if you show some effort in your papers

Professor Raza is a very inspirational teacher and his class is one of the best classes I took so far. Ten quiz on a novel and 3essays and that's it. He cares a lot about his students, so he tells you in advances you're grade . He makes you work for your grade!

I took professor Asif for American social problems and death and dying. I took both classes online at the same time. I managed to get an A in both classes. Make sure you write lengthy responses. He is very understanding. I would recommend him to anyone!! Tough grader though!

Was not an easy class, but well worth the effort. The tests were easy if you did the reading, which was pretty extensive, but I also took the course in 6 weeks. I took his American Social Problems class online, and had absolutely no problem earning an A, but you have to do the work.

His class is okay, lectures one day the next you do a text of 10 questions, pass or fail. you must have book and read ( if you don't like reading then this is not your class ). one book report and one research paper. He is really nice and find, he was you to talk to him and make convo and wants his class to be outgoing and give opinion.

Prof Raza is a really good teacher and he lives what he does. If you try and read you will do fine. He is very good when replying to emails. Also make sure you read if you don't read. If you show him you care about your grade he will let you retake tests so you have a better chance to pass. If you want an understanding teacher pick him.

Very kind and amiable to helping his students. He let me retake my final exam. Participation is important, it's how you get feedback. Read the book! He is accessible outside of class in his office. If you build a good relationship, you can get invited for tea. He is strict the first two classes to weed out bad eggs looking for easy grades.

This is the second class I am taking with Professor Raza.I will be taking one more and if I could I would take more. Very interesting course an well structured. Professor is caring and accessible.

I loved this class, you have to read every week only about 20 pages but it is very interesting. Every week is the same thing one discussion post and one quiz. You have to papers due one is about 5 pages and the other one is 10 pages. The 5 pages is based off a book you are assigned to read. The 10 page is based off an interviews with 3 people.

First semester I'm taking him for 2 of my classes (one online) and he's by far one of the best professors I've had at Palm Beach State. He makes the lectures interesting, and adds his own kind of humor to it. He assigns us a lot of reading, but it's manageable. If you want to learn and have a good time in class I strongly recommend this professor!

I took Professor Raza online for sociology over the summer. We had 2 assignments due weekly/two 10 questions quizzes after those assignments. Two papers, one a book critique and the other a research report. Overall, if you read the material and write the allotted number of words for the assignment, you'll get an A. I passed with an A.

I took this Professor for Summer online, 3 books reports and 2 other more projects. If you don't like to read, he is not for you. The books are not big and they are interesting. NO PROCRASTINATION. A lot of easy work. No late assignment accepted.

I personally loved this class. The book was provided for us online for free and was very interesting to read. 2 chapters were due each week however the chapters were not that long. We had a 9-12 pg term paper to write but the subject was given early and you get the whole semester to work on it. I did take the express summer online class.

I loved taking Professor Raza's class he is very funny but doesn't try to be. There are weekly reading assignments that must be read ahead of class, it is important to participate. Lots of long essays (one I wrote was 12 pages long), but I would do it all again in a heartbeat, I learned a lot - like how to write extremely long essays

I had him online and he required us to answer questions 300 words each. Do every wee we submit 1200 words . He has two papers. One 6page book report on $2 a day. The other one is a 8 page research paper. The stories could get a bit weird sometimes but I enjoyed them.

I loved Dr. Raza, I thought he was an excellent professor. I took 2 Sociology classes online with him. There is a lot of writing, I did not agree with 100% of the material used. If it helps, he wants to know how you feel. He wants that to reflect in your writing. He clearly communicated his expectations. His Death & Dying class was awesome

We do have to work for our grade, there is a ten question quiz almost every wed. for the reading assigned but if you read ur good. Syllabus explains everything and he cares for his students!

Not bad. I learned a lot from this class. As long as you read the books, you will do well. The only thing is, it's nearly impossible to get a perfect score on any of the discussions and papers. It's almost as if this professor is not allowed to give perfect scores.

Although he gives weekly assignment and makes you read, the class was interesting and all he is looking for is cooperation from the student. As long as you do your homework and the 10 question/1 hour times test which are super easy, you should be fine. Home and test are super easy. two long reports are also submitted.

I learned soo much about society and why people do the things they do from this class. The coursework is interesting. Professor Asif is a tough grader, but he lets you know what your paper lacked. He gives good feedback, he grades quickly and is very responsive. I'll be taking him for SYG2361 next semester and am looking forward to it. Take him!

I took this course online over the summer. It consisted of two 600 word discussion posts a week, two quizzes a week, one 6 page book report, and a huge 10 page paper. He really makes you work for an A. Dont take him if youre looking for an easy A! Hes great and very well educated, but certainly hard to please! I got an A, but worked very hard!

I learned tons about myself and our society. I really enjoyed his pre-recorded lectures, but you don't actually have to listen to them to get an A, you just have to do the assigned reading. I liked all of the reading and writing that was required.

He was a really kind man and very patient. He opened the class to questions and discussions during and after lectures. He is also easy to contact outside of class as well.

Dr. Raza is the type of Professor that makes you feel thankful you choose the right decision in terms of choosing which Professor is most suited choice for taking SYG2000. During his lectures, he always asks for feedback from different students and always looks out for them as well. Overall, he makes you excited to come to his class for new mats!

Professor Raza is very patient and passionate about Sociology. He inspired me to me look at the world differently. He didn't require camera or lockdown browser but does expect people to participate in class. Participation really just involves sharing your thoughts, he won't make you look stupid for wrong answers. Be ready to read and write papers.

Class is very easy along as you get the books that he requires. Only had to do two papers which was easy just make sure to does everything he requires in the writing and discussion and you'll pass.

Professor Raza's class has a lot of weekly readings and writing assignments, but the material is engaging. Staying on top of the workload is key. I found unstuck AI really helpful for preparing for quizzes and the final paper.
