You dont have to be a good note taker for this class. he repeats everything for you until its written down. The tests are simple and essays are just based on you memorizing your notes but he tells you what needs to be memorized. interesting class

The Best teacher to take for govt. He really tries to connect with the students and is a good friend.

In this class there's 3 tasks to follow to make an A. (1.) Show up to class on time. (2.) Be in class everyday and also verbalize..get involved in class discussions. (3.) Memorize everything he sayd to you.

Just be on time, don't skip class, and memorize what he tells you to, and you will not have a problem getting an A in his class. His test is a little hard, but you still have 50 points on the momorization part so! very good friend beside professor

I took govt.2301 before with .....but I could not keep up with him so somebody told me just take class with Asslan Khaligh that you can pass this class with a very good great.Therfore,I took class with him and I got an A!He is very honest,fairand funny.

This man is freakin awesome he is very easy to understand and he doesnt make you feel uncomfortable if you want to ask a question but make sure to register early or you will not get into any of his classes

Great prof. He jokes about his nationality and has a great sense of humor. Memorize what he says and attend every class without being tardy. Don't include emotion in discussions, only logic and he won't really hold a grudge. He knows his US and TX politics for being foreign born better than most.

His teaching is awesome but he is a jerk I cofronted him about a comment he made about me and than he failed me with an F honest to God. He is an arrogant jerk and it is all about him and the way he thinks and if you don't like it tough. But dare not confront him he gets his way.

Very clear on what he expects from you. He does NOT tolerate tardiness or absences. I learned a lot from him but I won't deny that he is EXTREMELY ARROGANT

This guy is the funniest teacher I've ever had. Very strict on attendance but as long as you show up on time to class (like you're supposed to anyway) then you'll be fine. Also, don't take his class if you're a republican, he's very liberal and isn't afraid to voice his opinion.

Khaligh is awesome, he comes up with these stories that often relate to the political subjects that young adults could understand. All teachers should be like him. He's also a funny guy and who doesn't like funny, you need something to keep you up from all the studying.

Good teacher...from Iran, and likes to laugh about it. This guy is hilarious...till you piss him off by not coming to class or being late. He will have a friggin cow!! He points out when you are absent the next class, and will have a fit for 5 minutes if you walk in late. Memorize his essays word for word, and you have it made!!! Easy A!

His essay test were very easy. Word for word from your notes you will write on your test you will be able to get 50 points automatic and you just have to pass the muiple choice. i will get a high B and i hardly study for the muiplte choice test

Mr.Khaligh is one of the best pro.at that is very helpful and his teaching style is very uniqe.His tests are diectly from the notes so there is no supprising on the test.Just make sure read your notes carefully and then BINGO!!!!

I stuck with his class was because he was easy. He writes everything word for word on the board that you need to know. But you better know it word for word, don't get creative. They aren't long definitions though. Always taking pot shots at the American system of gov't, refers to Marx a lot. He spews his views, but doesn't give you time for reply

He is awesome. 50% of test is notes that he gives you 'word by word' and the rest is multiple choice. He is very entertaining and funny.ofcourse he talks bad about the american system.. all govt proffessors do lol. Overall it's a great class and an easy A.

with this teacher you never have to guess whats coming next he is very specific and very strict. His tests are easy but you have to memorize the essay questions (and they arent short despite what some other idiot might have said) and then you have 50 multiple choice. this teacher is not easy but there is a possibility of doing well in his class.

Best professor i have ever had just take notes and thats whats covered in the test. Essay questions for the test are given to you before the test with the answers so just memorize them. Highly recommend.

Professor Khaligh is a great teacher. In order to pass the tests you MUST read the textbook, study your notes and memorize the essays. That is it. Attendance is MANDATORY! Gives plenty of opportunity for extra credit. If you don't do well on the first test, don't get discouraged.

This is a Great professor in this department. No textbook needed, just make sure you have time to memorize the essays for the test. EASY A in this class just make sure that you attend and arrive on time! Notes are also crucial but he tells you word by word what to write. Overall A+!

Great, interesting professor. Tests are from class notes, so take good notes and don't miss a class. There are 3 exams (50% mult. choice and 50% essays) and the final (100% mult. choice). He tells you which essays would be on each exam, and you must write them exactly as he tells you. But don't be afraid, it's not difficult at all.

Professor Khaligh is not exactly what you would expect from a Government teacher. He is very funny and he seems to believe that he is quite attractive...lol. His tests are very difficult but he makes sure that everyone knows that. DON'T BE LATE TO CLASS AND DON'T MISS CLASS!!! Make sure you read the book and take notes and you will do great!

One of the best teachers I've had!! He's awesome. Besides being handsome and having a sexy accent like he says, he is an expert in his field and gives great advise to his students. You do need to study hard for his tests, but they're not that bad. His humor makes the class fun and makes you have perfect attendance.

I'm enrolled in the class presently and couldn't be more pleased with Khaligh as my instructor. He's fun and interesting. ATTEND ALL HIS CLASSES, it is mandatory for a improved grade. His questions on the tests are derived from his lecture. Although we never used our books, he encourages you to read it.

I would highly recomend Khaligh to anyone. He really cares about the subject he is teaching. He makes passing the class very easy, but he makes failing easy too. GO TO CLASS!!! He gives extra credit ALL THE TIME for good attendance!! And DO ALL THE EXTRA CREDIT!! The only grades you will have in this class are the exams.

this professor is strict! Attendance is mandatory and he hates when ppl leave early without tellling him. He gives good notes for exam and you must read text book. Gives extra credit and some parts on exam can be tricky. As long as you go everyday and pay attention you will be fine.

Professor Asslan made the class interesting. He explained the text in lay terms, gave plenty of extra credit opportunities, offered a supplemental learning class. If you did not get an A, you did not earn it. The class was not easy, but if you studied and followed instructions you should have done well. Fun class!

He is a good teacher, he does not like people walking in late to his class, so if you are the type that wakes up at 7:45 for 8:00 class, dont sign up for this class or you end up with an F. If you work hard and care about your education, sign up, you wont regret, JUST DO WHAT EVER HE SAYS.

Overall his class is EASY (I got a B with some studying). He tells you EXACTLY what you need to know. BUT he like to run his mouth,doesnt respect your opinions but expect you to respect his. At first I thought this Professor was very cool & funny. As the semester wore on though I began to really loathe this man. I showed up to every class and was never late to class. He treats his students like juvenile delinquents. He told everyone in my class not to take the second part of government with him cuz we couldn't handle it. WHATEVER!

Yes, he requires attendence- knowledge builds sequentially; no, he doesn't allow cell phones, texting, wii's, etc- no****, that should be a no brainer (when you get into the real world, and you text while your boss is talking-kiss your job goodbye); he teaches well, in a subject he cares about; if you want to learn-yes! need a credit- use internet

Mr. Khaligh is a very nice man. He is an excellent teacher and an expert on state and local politics. If you did get an A it's because you either did not study at all, or you did not attend class. His exams are straight forward from his lectures.

First if you do not understand traditional teachers you will have problems. He is strict on being on time and showing respect. If you do that and study his notes there will be no problem. I HATED government going into college but Khaligh really made interesting! He is super funny and has a great look on the topic. If you take this class, you WILL take a lot of notes and you have to go to class EVERY time. His tests are so easy! If you fail this class, you are literally an idiot. He's a great teacher.

I took him a few over a semester ago and I admit I had to drop but I think he was easy at the same time. He gives you notes and you have to copy them word for word because you will need to write them for the essay. If coach Culpepper (a great professor) recommended him then I will take him again.

Also grading on tests is very unfair. You must literally memorize word for word what he has you write during lecture. Overall i do not recommend.

The Best

He gives the notes in his lecture word for word on what you need to know. He tells you what essays will be on the test so you can memorize them. He even goes over the test AND FINAL before the exam so you know exactly what you need to study! How much easier can it get than that? If you have trouble with memorization, then he may not be for you.

This guy does notes WORD FOR WORD! However, he HATES electronics so dont bother bringing in your laptop or tablet. But here's the catch, even though his notes are word for word, there's a reason for that and it's because the essays MUST be word for word or you're getting that question wrong. AND he doesnt care why you're absent if you are too bad

This class is an easy A if you do what you need to do, which is take good notes and read the book. He takes attendance every day and counts off if you are late too. If you think having to have your phone turned off and not using your computer in class is too strict, find another instructor.

Great interesting Professor. His tests are difficult if you don't study. He has major lectures every class,WRITE DOWN EVERY WORD. He gives you the questions that will be on the test,Just go through lecture notes to find the answers. Study them because if you don't memorize his paragraphs he takes off points for every single error.

Professor is hilarious and lively. No technology allowed (computers, phones), he doesn't even use power points. He writes every topic on the board and while he lectures, he tells you exactly what to write. The notes line up exactly with tests. Downside is the only grades you have are tests, so very easy to get a low grade if you slip up once.

Asslan Khaligh's teaching style is very straight forward and easy to follow, primarily consisting of lectures and note taking (Which he literally tells you what to write), as well as some life experiences he includes within his lectures. His class was one that I will always remember, and would recommend to any one. Khaligh is an excellent professor

Asslan is a GREAT professor, gives you notes & essays word for word, & gives the test questions as a review. You have to memorize the essay questions which really isn't that bad. If you have to miss class just let him know, he will work with you, just make sure you get the notes. textbook isn't needed. If you don't pass its your own fault. EASY A!!

Professor Asslan is awesome! The only con of his class is ABSOLUTELY NO electronics are allowed during his lecture, even laptops. But, he knows his stuff and is very passionate about his students and what he teaches. He is leaving SAC soon so take him while you can! I definitely won't forget his class. Take him seriously and bring a recorder!

It was a pleasure to be in his class, honestly learned more in his class then my first government class. He shared his life stories, and tried to make us laugh each class, those who are young students may not have gotten his jokes but i'm an older student and loved his class. got extra credit each week and free hot potato. This was my first semester, and I was lazy but Khaligh would always make the lecture fun. I did take notes, and studied as I did, but not enough if it wasn't for all the extra credit things would have ended up badly lol. He is very understanding, and tells all these jokes. It is hard to understand him sometimes so record his lectures!

I swear, most of the individuals who gave negative feedback were most likely slackers. Khaligh was a great professor! He would always answer any questions when needed, gives you extra credit opportunities, no assignments just exams, and goes over a review for each one. If you want an A+ take this professor! He's hilarious! And demands you show up!

I took his online class for Summer I & it was super easy. There were 3 "research" essays & 3 tests. The research essays are simple, he just tells you to write down everything in your notes. The tests are open note too so they're pretty easy. He gets off track a bit & talks a lot so it's easy to multitask if you have other work to do.
