Good teacher. Sometimes lecture with slides got boring, but she kept it upbeat for the most part. Not too hard, just do your papers.

She is a total hippie and loves art. It's always nice to take a class with a professor who is passionate about what they are teaching.

AWESOME teacher! I was never into art, but after taking Whidden's class I gained a whole new appreciation & intrest in art. She makes the class fun and entertaining. She has a lot of experience with art and shows her own slide pics of the places she has been.

Great teacher, very interesting class. Art project was fun; Internet paper was not. If you attend classes, take good notes & study hard before midterm & final, you’ll do well (attend the reviews – she gives great pointers as to what’ll be on exams, esp. slides on the final). Highly recommend the class.

I loved this class! Everything we learned about was so interesting. Made me consider changing my major to art history! She was an extremely interesting/wonderful teacher. I will miss that class. Regarding the previous rant, I felt her personal life seemed very interesting, I wish she would have divulged more! Highly recommend her! :)

Prof. Whidden is a great teacher! Her class is not at all boring despite some of the comments made. I never liked art or really knew toom uch about it until taking her class. For anyone who says "If you want an easy A don't take her class" they're wrong. I highly reccomend taking this class, a lot of FUN!

Dr. Whidden is the best teach Ive had all year!! She knows stndts are required to take class & makes it as fun as she can. Lectures not boring. You must have some kind of interest for art prior to taking class. Take good notes and you'll ace both tests. No homework. 2 papers that are easy. If you have problems she's always helpful. I WILL MISS HER!

She's a fun teacher. Whether it's the bizzare and unexpecting things she says, or her tieing seemingly boring facts into the subject. She'll more than likely keep you awake on a subject she is passionate about. I was on my laptop the entire semester and it was fine with her. All you have to do is be there, do the 2 projects, and 2 tests.

i was like the worst student I would come in 30-11/2hr late every day hand in papers that i wrote that mourning had the worst project ever, everyones project looked technologically advanced mine looked like it came from a third world country, got a D on the first test and still got a b wait b+in that m******interesting class

Very nice lady and a really good class. It's mainlly coming to class, taking notes on picture slides, and leaving. Always out early. Two papers, one is a fun art project, the other is an internet paper that's pretty simple. I loved her class very much. Great for art majors, especially her.

This was the greatest class! Not only did I learn more than I have in a while, the teacher is fantastic and knows what she is talking about. You go to class, learn what you need to learn, and then you're out. She never keeps you. Easy assignments, and interesting material. She is awesome!

Knows what she is talking about. Very passionate about Art and History. Fun lady. Class notes are used for test material, thus I would recommend attendance. When writing assignments, pay attention to essay format and grammer. She likes class participation, even if you guess.

This woman is GREAT! Very bohemian teaching style. She's funny and makes art history fun. If you take notes, you'll do just fine. Only 2 tests (midterm & final) which pretty much mirror the review. She doesn't care if you sleep in her class as long as you don't do it sitting in the front row. Don't text.

Bst teacher I've had yet. No text book required, test are overall pretty easy, there's one project and 2 or 3 easy papers. I think the longest I've stayed in that class was like 15 mins. she never stays the whole class. I reccommend her 100%

Dr. Whidden is the absolute best teacher there is at PBSC. She goes into detail with her notes, if you have a question she answers it perfectly. I would recommend to the highest point!! I would take her over and over if I had the time. She makes you want to go to class.

Great professor! Textbook not needed. Her notes are the answers to all of her tests. If you take good notes you will do fine. She is someone who will tell you how it is, but also her teaching style is so laid back. I actually loved going to that class, and that was the express summer class.

Prior to attending this class I absolutely dreaded it. However, I am very happy I did. Professor Whidden is very knowledgeable and made the class worth attending. If you pay attention in class and take good notes you should have no problem. The way she teaches accommodates just about every learning style. Overall Great Professor!!!

Prof. Whidden likes to lighten the mood and have fun teaching. She knows what she's talking about, and also simplifies art history and concepts for everyone. Cool, laid-back art project. If you're looking to take this class for an easy A, then this is not the class for you. Dr.W makes you work for your A. You have to take really, really good notes from her lectures and then study those notes to do well on the tests. The test are hard and she only gives two extra credit which are worth 2 points to your final grade. Not an easy prof.

I loved Dr. Whidden's class! She gave us a midterm and a final. I got 100 on both, just make sure to take good notes during her lectures and it'll be a breeze. She gave out a tiny project, which was really easy, and had to write a paper about it. She gives two in class evaluation, but if you do well, no second paper for you, and that's it!

Professor Whidden is a very smart, down to Earth professor and her class, hands down, was my favorite class I took this semester. You get about 3 extra credit opportunities. Just take good notes during her lectures and you'll pass the midterm and final. I wish I could take her again! :)

Her class is a great example of one that seems boring but makes it very interesting and at times inspirational. I personally found the topics in the classe and lectures to be amazing and the way she lectures about it will deffinetly help you. Strict grader but feedback is helpful. She is one of the best teachers I have taken. She's so down to Earth and funny. Her lecture may be long and boring sometimes but they are full of information. Art is not my favorite thing and I took a lot of notes. They are VITAL to your life for this class. Don't be late because she starts right away. You don't need the book if you take notes.

Dr. Whidden is great! She gives you the format to write the 3 in-class writings (analyzing paintings), which are not bad at all. Gives review sheet for Midterm/Final. 3 extra credit opportunities. Lectures are mostly interesting. Always finishes 15 mins early.

Loved her!! I took her for 6 weeks in the summer, I wish I would have taken her in a regular fall semester. She is so funny and so amazing. I really looked forward to going to her class EVERYDAY! I would love to take her again! :)

Professor Whidden had to be an honest fave for me,especially for my first year. Shes incredibly intelligent and inspiring. Her stories make you want to know more about the subject. Shes inspired me to travel and look at the world through a different lense. Shes works with you about homework and makes sure you get it done. Phenomenal : 50/10.

One of the best art professors I've had so far. The most essential thing in this class are your notes; if you don't take good notes, you won't do well on the test. All of her tests are open notes and she gives extra credit in very creative ways, like going to a museum.
