He has been one of my favorite IT professors from day 1 of starting class. He always showed up to class full of energy and gives helpful advice for the real world in IT. He is also inspirational as he has a really cool backstory. OS was a bit lecture heavy but he made it as engaging as possible, and dp1 significantly improved my programming skills.

Professor Mohamed was one of the best professor I have had so far.. He is one those professor where he knows what he is talking about. Mandatory not recommended but go to class! You can learn so many different things specially the way IT is involving.

This class is easy if you show up and pay attention. Then Netlabs are easy and so are the chapter quizzes. Take good notes because some of the test are open notes.

The Professor isn't bad the material he teaches can be, study it and make sure you ask questions. His grading isn't bad most of all your grades come from labs so don't let your test grades discourage you do all the labs and quizzes to the best of your ability. He will work with you on your grade if he sees you put in the effort.

I have now taken two of professor Mohamed's courses, and overall I think he is a pretty straightforward professor. His test are normally open book, and in my opinion they are a lot simpler than the quizzes he gives. If you stay on top of your work, you should pass his class with minimum headaches.

One of the better professors I've had. Straightforward and eager to answer questions. Do make sure to pay attention to the lecture notes. Without them, you will fail the class.

Most information that appears on exams and homeworks use skills learned from reading and understanding both lectures that are said in class, powerpoint slides that are read from as well as more material for knowledge from textbooks.

My only future request is that Prof Atef would update some of the language within the course to fit the "fully online" option. Some slides/messages still referred to in in person class. Very straight forward class.

There are a lot of labs to complete for this class; however, they are very fast and simple to follow.

The class I took was very heavy on reading and the majority of the class was spent doing lab work and quizzes. The professor was quick at grading assignments and provided clear feedback. If you put in the time and effort, you will be successful in this course. Overall this professor did a great job at teaching during the time I was in his class.

Exceptionally adept at using Folio-- his course is well organized, presented, and structured. You never have to worry about missing an assignment or due date. Lenient late policy as well. Labs are easy to finish and well-written. This class is all about Linux. I feel like I know what I'm doing behind a terminal having completed this class.

Dr. Mohamed was a good professor for my Operation Systems course. All of the information was easily digestible and the course work was pretty simple. As long as you don't do the work last-minute, you'll be fine.

The operating systems 2530 online curriculum was clearly broken into modules. Netlabs is used to learn Linux, CentOS, and Fedora workstation. The rest is taught through slides and a video lecture. The content is clear and easy to understand and the tests are over the covered material. I would recommend this class to understand operating systems.

This class was easy it was just time-consuming. If you set aside a few hours a week (3-4) to complete the assignments you'll be fine. The labs are easy and have clear instructions. Participation matters. If you miss an assignment you'll for sure get a zero but if you just do the work on time you'll realize his class is easy and not stressful.

This professor relies heavily on NetLabs assignments, which for me I loved, but could be a deal-breaker for others. He is really kind and caring towards his students and willing to help. Would recommend taking him!

The professor had lecture videos and PowerPoints available for the class which I enjoyed. The class was very simple and straightforward. I thought the class was easy, however, the concepts taught were not new to me so that made a big difference. Still, I think the class would be great for someone who knows little about computers.

Prof. Mohamed sets up his class for his students to succeed. Do the readings, watch the lectures (they're both basically the same, but it's good to get the info in both ways just for good digestion of the information), do the labs (which are pretty easy because of the step by step instructions), and you will be just fine.

I took it for a summer class; everything went smoothly and there were a lot of labs so beware of that.

Professor Mohamed does a great job of imparting knowledge to his students. His online lectures were informative and easily understood and his grading was fair. He is easily accessible and was quite flexible when I encountered some obstacles in my personal life that got in the way of my assignments. I would gladly take other classes from him.

I like the way the course was structured. Readings and recorded lectures covered pretty much the same exact information, but it did help with making sure I retained it, and the readings have links to eternal sources to learn more about certain topics. There are a lot of labs but they are very easy with step by step direction.

I took the online version of this course and he assigned about 4 things total each week whether that be a lab or quiz, which were very easy and did not take long to complete at all. He is very good about responding to emails and making sure students are able to learn comfortably, even with it being 100% at a distance!

Prof. Atef Shalan is a good instructor. The material can be somewhat confusing, but he does a good job of making it less so. He is a fair grader and gives extra credit opportunities.
