looking for a good recipe for whole wheat pizza? falafals?
Nice guy. Doesn't seem like he's happy anymore. Should have gotten a PhD..
Someone, buy his dog! Excellent teacher.
Super nice, and super funny!
TOUGH!!!
super hard, not very helpful, his dog stories are way annoying, favours people,

Favours people very much. Acts as a nice person, He is not

Some unfair questions. Good teacher though.
Tough exams.... But he is a nice prof!!!
terrible. no help, confusing, insulting attitude
Poor dog and students!
i think he's gotten better since he got some sensitivity training...lol
hard prof, favors people based on looks, unfair exams
poor dog!
Best math teacher that explained everything. Fair tests. Very fair marker
Laugh at his jokes
Good teacher, fair marker, best math teacher I've ever had
Nice teacher but he doesn't explain much, his lectures are vague and unclear. He's a fair marker but some questions on his tests are really unfair.

Easy at the beginning, but hard at last. Earn more score at first, but disappointed at the end.
freakin way too hard.
this teacher made it so that i never want to take another math class again. thanks aubie!
His exam questions are tough and he never gives enough time to finish it, esp. the finals. Come to class prepared by skimming the textbook in advance, otherwise you'll get lost in his lecture. He also has a very high expectation!
the final worth 40% of the total grade. Screw at the final & u'll fail. The test is kinda difficult. So fast in giving the lecture.
sigh...soso
Aubiez a great teacher, his soft and clear voice and cool temperament makes Calculus look easy. HIs exams are a bit tough, but he teaches well in class and is alz available for help outside class. I had him just once, but he's awesome.
Funny helpful
Aubie made a very intimidating course enjoyable. Just study hard and be prepared for his lectures. I really do not have any complaints about him. Thank you.
he makes fun of you on your test paper if you're wrong...he makes sarcastic comments on your paper! i used to like math...thanks
HORRIBLE TEACHER
Very helpful! So fast though.
he has sweet and tender voice, tests are easier than materials what he teaches in class, tests are somewhat hard though. if you study hard, then A+ for math120 is not just a dream.
Very nice guy. His tests are extremely easy.A+
I took him again because the first class I had with him was such a breeze. He not only explained how to do something but why you do it which is helpful when thinking logical, really nice guy and funny. Over all good prof
worst teacher, straight up. If your not comfortable in math dont expect this teacher to help you at all. Goes way to fast... if ur planning to take math 101 basic algebra dont take it with him!! warning!
I didn't like his teaching style at all, he teaches at SFU and he can't seem to come down to the 101 level at college,
Very very nice teacher, helpful, patient and fair.He is going fast through the lecture, but is always willing to explain stuff if you didn't understand it. I would take him for 220 again for sure.
his lectures are very clear and easy to understand and if you take the time to do your homework, nothing on the test should surprise you =)
Aubie is pretty funny, but can be really unhelpful. He gives hard tests and often throws in a couple of curve balls, so work hard and bug him in his office.
test is fair
Very Good Professor. A genius in his field. Answers questions right away.
He is a nice guy but the worst teacher i've ever had...I didn't learn anything I had to teach myself
He was never available in his office when I went for help, and couldn't even get a learning centre form signed to get help elsewhere. Didn't find the lectures clear...maybe he's only good at teaching higher level math...somehow I passed his class.
Did not enjoy the class - it went far too quickly. The tests were okay and the guy's nice, but in class we would sometimes cover up to 3 sections so near the end it was impossible to keep up. Try to take this class in conjunction with easier/less intensive courses - it may ease the pressure.
I really like his humor styles in the class. Also, the ways of evaluating scores is fair, say, students would not be hurted on GPA if they do poorly only one exam. He will adjust the weights based on your overall scores. Strongly recommend.
He sucks so much. He is the worst teacher ever. He is one of those teachers that searches for reasons to take away marks. He is awful, awful, awful. His tests make no sense. The tests are just so confusing. He is really mean and awful and I really recommend taking snider or majdanac or anyone else!
he is the best ever. he isss..his teasts are fair..he is so nice!!! those who are against this teacher are those who need to take ALgebra!!!its ur problems guys!!!!
He is not a good teacher of math at all. I got an A+ in 1120 with a good teacher and a C- with him, that's how bad he is at getting anything across to him. He is also gross with crude comments in class. Don't take him.
needs to consider another profession because he is no good at teaching. he picks favorites and is very unhelpful and rushes way to fast thru the material. avoid!!
Please please please, if you care at allll about your gpa or about learning the material in this course....stay away from Aubie, he is the worst teacher in the history of the world!!!!!!!
To make it short: I liked him a lot!! Yes, he rushes through the material, but he is a very fair marker and his tests were not that hard. I did poorly in his classes, since math is everything else than my strong subject, it had nothing to do with him. Most importantly: he is always aproachable, even if you ask him the "dumbest" questions ever ;-)
he has a stronggggg sense of humour :) if u take this course in the evening or in the morning don worry cause hes gonna wake you up every 20 second whenever u fall sleep.. he is a funny guy and really nice and helpfull ..miss his classes

AMAZING!!! HE TEACHING TACTICS ALTHOUGH QUICK ARE TO THE POINT AND CLEAR. HIS QUIZZES ARE FAIR AND HE SOMETIMES AWARDS PART MARKS FOR ATTEMPTING A PROBLEM. HIS JOKES ARE COMPLETELY LAME BUT FUNNY TOO!!! HE OFTEN MAKES MISTAKES ON THE BLACK BOARD WHEN DOING QUESTIONS, BUT I THINK ITS JUST TO TEST YOU!!! CALL HIM OUT ON IT... !!!
Nice teacher, his lecture is absolutely unclear, however, you dont need to understand his notes, doing homework and attending math tutorial, it will help you so much. Trust yourself, math is not such as hard with Aubie's class.
I love him' he is soooo funny. if you want to be happy everyday throughout the semester take him :) unklike other math classes his class is not boring..
was my instructor for calc I & II great prof. even brought us timbits and coffee when he forgot to bring midterms back a second time. he's clear and tests are fair
had him for both cal I and II.didn't understand much of it but he is pretty easy going to tutorials and doing your homewrk will help u pass.funny teacher tells stories and what not.if u wanna pass math take him but be prepared to do most of the work on your own or stay in math lab to understand
he is the funniest guy ever, nice, cool, and really knowlegable. he rocks,,take his classes,, highly recommended ..Aubie you rock!!
i took three of his classes. his tests are so creative. if you didnt understand materials fully then you dont get the question either. i was impressed he always tries to make his students understand materials.
Very clear and concise. Teaches from his head and does lots of examples. Wants students to understand from ground-up. Recommended!
As hard as Aubie tried, Calculus was just not meant to be understood by me...
Nice teacher, very unorganized though. Used lots of examples and teaches from his head. If you do all your homework you should be fine.
he's a good teacheri had 2 math classes with him... he doesnt expect u to write essay for ur answers... as long as u r in a right way... u'll get ur mark..really easy marker... and tests are easy... but he just teaches a little bit fast... if u didnt get it try to do the hws... then u'll get B at least.
Nice and Fun.I got A+.Take his class!
really really nice guy!!!! his class is enjoyable and easy to get a good mark.take his class!!!!!!!
he's not a bad teacher. he goes a little fast, but he knows what he's talking about and it's pretty clear about what he's teaching most of the time. test's are fair but a little hard to understand because of the wording or structure of it. other than that he's pretty good i guess

I can't complain on this guy cause i barely went to the lectures (1/4), but he didn't mind it which is good, neither he marked me harder for not going to class. I thought the exams were fair at book level, few crazy questions, His lectures were very informative. Don't be afraid of him, he is a good teacher. One of the better match prof choices.
well. i didn't do that well in his class. but i manage to pass. which i am happy with . well i found the lab is more helpful than his lecture

Tests are harder than any examples given in class
aubie is very disorganized. his notes are all over the place and when it comes to tests time, it includes material that he did not even cover. he uses other stat teacher's tests because he simply has no time to make one of his own. he likes to skip 'useless' sections, which is probably the only positive thing about his class.
He is a relaxed laid back guy that doesn't scare you because of the heavy course load. Although he is very fast with notes, his tests are very fair and his marking scheme is relativly easy and fair. His jokes are accually funny unlike randy alex, which makes paying attention much easier. I recommend aubie to anyone taking a math course.
He is a very nice guy, and good teacher. I wish he would assign homework to practice because it is difficult to complete all odd questions in a section every few days. It would be much better if he viewed the text before teaching and assigned specific questions. I wore myself out trying to teach myself things I didn't even need to know!!!!!!
this guy rocks! hes got a sense of humor and he knows his math
Had this guy for 2 courses. Very nice guy who likes to joke around. Doesn't care if you come to class or not. But his teachings aren't the best- notes are fast and he isn't very helpful in explaining. Tests are definately harder than the book. Not the best teacher, but not bad either. Only if he was easier!
awesome prof. i went on a trip to mexico during one of the mid terms and he let me write it after. although attending this class is not mandatory as you can get most the information out of the text i would still say you should go if you want to get an A.
Register in his class if and only if you are a genius or have a perfect gpa; otherwise, if your just a regular person who plans on working hard and mastering the material to get a good grade, you will be thoroughly disappointed. His courses are designed to screw these type of students. Don't take his courses at any cost unless you are okay with Cs
He is a very intersting teacher. He is not organized but he knows the material very well so it kind of comes natural to him to teach with out notes or text book. His exams are fair and he marks very fair. So i think he is an excellent teacher
He explains very clear n his exams aren't that difficult. He usually gives examples from the book and practice tests sometimes. Take his class!
Absolute worst Math professor I've ever had. You might as well get someone to record the texbook for you and work from that instead of pay money for him to do it. Disorganized, doesn't give you a syllabus, doesn't assign practice questions and doesn't give you much notice for upcoming tests.
Aubie is a nice guy and is good at explaining difficult concepts. His teaching style is very conversational and he links concepts smoothly. I would take him for another course without hesitation.
Horrible professor, worst I've ever had. Goes through lecture too quickly, isn't prepared, teaches directly from textbook, gets confused on important topics, tests are completely different then lecture, doesn't explain things well, doesn't give practice problems, late back from breaks constantly. Used to love Math, HATE it after him!
Don't mind him, he is very relazed and occasionally funny. His quizzes/tests can be difficult though, and material on the latter may not be covered in class. Use the textbook to learn.. seriously.
A good prof, but as others have stated, he is very difficult. Though I consider myself a rather bright pupil, I found this course exceptionally difficult as test and exam questions were rarely straight forward, and always the most difficult option possible. In addition, these exams covered a huge amount of topics - fewer tests = more to memorize!
I asked him to reconsider test marks as I felt some questions had unfair marks but he didn't. While other profs would give credits for it. He's not available when I tried to reach him by person or e-mail (he replied email once). Exam questions were, to be honest, not extremely hard, but it's just that there are tooooo much things to study.
You have to attend the lectures because the word problems he goes over in class we'll be the type of problems he uses on quizzes and tests. He is a GREAT teacher, very helpful, and his classes are relaxed (no tension, no pressure).
I found his tests and marking to be fair. That's the most important thing. He's a funny guy but it also seems like he has a bit of an attitude if you aren't a strong student. That may be worded wrong but what I mean is he's not very approachable in my opinion. However I would take him again and maybe I just got the wrong impression.
Not the best teacher, since reading the book at home is the same thing than going to class. His tests are fair but a bit on the hard side.
Very nice, funny, helpful (also during the exams(; ) and interesting.
Gets off track easily, over talks, examples need further explanation sometimes, good tests with some more difficult questions and an easy marker. Wouldn't take a class taught by him again though
Easily gets off track. Almost every test we've had needed questions to be rewritten, and it's not uncommon for him to make a mistake on the board. Very nice, but also very confusing and inconsistent.
Nice teacher. uses textbook a lot. Everything is clear. but after classes he is always in hurry. Difficult to talk to him after class. Doesnt really inspire to laen math but very relaxed and funny
Not a fan of this professor... When he writes on the board he's all over the place so you need to keep on top of it or you will write it down in the wrong order and nothing will make sense. He don't really do notes in class just problem after problem and he's too fast to follow. Won't be taking his class again
Linear algebra is an abstract course but Aubie tries to balance proofs with applications as best he can. He goes at a reasonable pace and is willing to explain any theorem or practice problem you ask him. He also has a sense of humour. Tests are long because calculators are allowed.
Fair marker
He is a bad prof. He gives stupid questions on the midterm exam and never gives back your tests back. And he promises to post solutions after the exams, but he always forgets to do it. He never replies back to your emails. The lecture notes are confusing so you need your textbook to figure out what he's saying.

He might not be an easy marker but his test is predictable. As long as you are smart you can predict his test question based on the first term test. My friend and i successively predicted most of the questions on his second term test and final test. THERE IS A PATTERN. And he is a very nice man. I like him. BTW I got A in Linear Algebra.
He doesn't explain anything and his notes are all over the place so it's hard to understand what he's trying to teach. He gives us practice tests before a test, and they seem so easy, but then you get to the test and you'll have no idea what you're doing because the actual test is so hard. I would recommend not taking this teacher!!
Hard marker, kind of explains well. He's not mean but he's not easy either.
Nice prof. the notes taking speed just fine and my suggestion for whoever is going to take this course is u better do some pre- class study (unless u r a stats person) test question are straight and i think that's it.........
I dont get why everyone doesn't like Aubie that much. He was a great prof when compared to all the other science profs very clear on how to do concepts, and his tests were a joke compared to calculus. Only thing I disliked was the fact that we really just did textbook questions for two hours.
If you're out of highschool and looking to take calc. dont take it with Aubie you will struggle and have a hard time learning. He expects yo to know far more then what they teach in high school and he expects you to be good at it.
he seems to really understand the materials he presents. he always writes what he says. it's very helpful to try to copy what's on the whiteboard. his tests are okay, but to do tests better you have to understand the theory. sometimes funny. he marks rather generously. what i experienced is that he never gives in class quiz or mandatory homework.
Aubie is hilarious. He has a subtle and dry sense of humour; if you catch it - it will for sure make you laugh. For STATS Aubie was clear; his notes were simple and tests were reasonable. Homework is 'do-it-yourself' so don't expect much guidance there; but if you do the work - it can be an easy -A.
He is terrible !! no ppt, no notes, not able to explain clearly, so hard tests, not helpful at all. I hated his class.
Don't take him, he will make you hate math! The only handout you will get is the course outline. He expect you to know everything. He doesn't even explain but rather say how it has to be. Really hard time to fallow him. Everything seems all over the place. Unorganized! Constantly reminds us to go to math lab instead of explaining himself.
The only teacher that I will actively avoid having a class with. Would make errors in class while writing notes, would fix half of it, then continue with what he has. Notes were very confusing, and did not explain concepts very well.
Exposure to a high level of abstract math made it really hard for me to understand ,but Aubie made it a bit easier. SPEND AT LEAST 4 HOURS every week TO DO YOUR HOMEWORK or even more than 4 hrs and you will not care abt your instructor lol.
Would never take math with him again, even if it would delay my graduation. Frequently made mistakes on the board; sometimes fix them, and other times "wing it", creating nonsensical answers. Made for very poor notes. Would not keep office hours, and very high fail rate for a low level math class. If you have him, do your best to teach yourself.
Good solid instructor. Explained every detail. Gave fair tests and quizzes.
Funny prof, makes lots of mistakes on notes, handouts, even on actual tests so make sure you read each question carefully. Not a hard class, hard to follow his notes. It is better to read the textbook and self teach yourself the material.
Had Aubie for Intro Stats. Horrible prof. Would always make mistakes during notes and practices quizzes/tests. Very lazy, does not keep office hours. Almost seems as if he does not care about the class. Would 100% not recommend him. You are better off trying to teach yourself the topics than to go by his notes. AVOID!
Aubie made Calculus fun (if that's possible). Mixed lecture and independent/group problem solving. Tests were pretty much what I expected and the class average was high. Lots of details explained well. Available outside of class and was always friendly.
Aubie was alright, his tests were easy for the most part, however where he was lacking for me was the lectures. Material felt unclear after he explained it, he expects you to know certain things already that I personally had no experience with. I guess he assumes you have taken math1110 at the college and not right out of highschool
I find him really funny! He is a little mono toned and awkward but the class is pretty chill! He doesn't post notes and he always writes on the board, so if you don't go to class you will miss a chapter worth of notes. His lectures are sometimes dry, but it's really easy to follow. I'm not a math person but his quizzes are fairly straight forward!
I would recomend aubie to anyone who struggles with math but is good at note taking. Aubie bases his tests off of his notes. Very straight forward. Won't try and trick you. He his lectures are dull at times but he makes awkward jokes to clear the air. Great guy. However I feel like he would benefit from engaging the class in learning more.
Helpful, good teaching pace, hilarious, his tests are always appropriate to what he had taught in class, clear on what he expects on the answer paper, definitely will take his class again. So far the best teacher in my first year.
Worse teacher i've ever had. He is not organised. Very poor notes . I would never take any course with this professor.
Calculus 2 is a hard course regardless of the professor. However, it was a pleasure to sit in Aubie's class for a semester because of his sense of humor and energy. He is definitely passionate about what he teaches. His midterm and final exams are very similar to textbook questions. Overall amazing guy, would recommend him to anyone!
Aubie was clear and concise in his lectures. His tests were fair. Hey, Calculus isn't easy--do lots of homework and you should be ok.
Go to tutorials for the easy 10% participation marks. Watch a youtube video on the topic if you miss class, which is not mandatory. Do the practice tests that he posts online, the midterms and final are identical. Go to the Math lab for help on doing each question on the practice test of you don't know how to do it. Easy A
Aubie is quite a good teacher as he often racks up jokes throughout is boring but useful lessons. I see aubie as a bit cringy though. I would take his class again because he is a nice caring guy.
Man Aubie is the real G, he has a dry sense of humor which not everyone will understand but if you do, the lectures will be interesting. He answers all questions asked and he genuinely cares about his students. Midterms and the final were all based on questions from the textbook.
Great and funny prof. He always makes everyone in class relaxed and happy. The exam is so-so. You need to attend the class to understand fully about the course, especially the volume, which will be in the final. The lab is ok, and you need to attend and finish the work and easy 10%. Good luck.
Ive only had Aubie for calc2, so Ill be specific on how to do well in his calc 2 class. The classes are boring but show up and take the notes because they will help guide you. He will tell you what to expect on the midterm/final. Youll have to do most of the learning on your own but using his notes/hmwrk & tutorial questions, its doable.
Really nice guy. You have to teach yourself a lot of the class as his lectures are a little unorganized, but he is always willing to take the time and help if you need it.
I personally didn't do well with his way of teaching. All his notes he'd write on the board (never uploaded online) and he doesn't go super into detail about what he is doing. He assumes that you know certain formulas and doesn't really engage with the class at all. I had to do a lot of self study outside of class and work really hard for this B.
Had Aubie for Calculus 1. He explained things very well and was clear about his expectation level. The class was tough but hey, it's Calculus! Was happy with the prof. and would take him for Calc 2
This is probably the worst math class I've ever taken. His lectures are boring and he goes off topic frequently by talking about things irrelevant to the class. He also doesn't reply to his emails and doesn't post his notes or lecture recordings. I don't mean to be mean and tried to give him a fair chance but word of advice - don't.
i was so lost in this class he was terrible
Aubie is good at explaining concepts completely and lets you know his thought process/steps. He gives good clear/complete advise during office hours and gets tests and quizzes marked very quickly. The only downfall was the online course was a bit disorganized, but that is to be expected during this transition.
Aubie is the sort of professor whose tests reflect the material taught in class, and he throws no curve balls on the test like other professors would. Aubie is a little hard to contact outside of class, but overall I recommend taking him.
Aubie was a great prof. His lectures were clear and in depth and he spiced it up with some humour once in a while. Keep in mind this is a calculus course so theres a lot of homework and the class is test heavy. Aubie's tests are very similar to the homework and lectures. Aslong as you do your work, you will get a good mark. Pay attention in lecture
Aubie fits one of those teacher stereotypes that a teacher gives you hw but when test/exams come you become absolutely clueless on how to do any question because none of the test/exam questions had the slightest similarities compared hw / practice questions given. It's honestly frustrating. Take aubie if you like critical thinking questions.
I dont know why he is teaching tests, quizess very limited time like 30 minutes for 14 or 20 questions . then after people complains he changes the grading . such a weird teacher never replies to email. Do Not take this save ur GPA
He is worst prof ever. He doesn't reply back to emails , Quizzes were hard due to time. 80% of class got same letter grade and when I sent email multiple time and requested to see my final , he didn't reply back at all. If you want to ruin your GPA , Take him, unless AVOID.
Aubie is a nice and hilarious man with a dry sense of humour. Exams and quizzes are fair if you do the homework and understand his notes. As for his lectures, well, let's just say I learned more from the textbook and math lab than his scatterbrained explanations. Overall, he's fine, but you will struggle if you're not sufficient in self learning.
Avoid at all costs. His lecture notes are extremely confusing. I had to learn all the materials from online resources because his notes could not help me at all. His tests are difficult. He puts questions down that was never reviewed during the lecture or even in the textbook. For alot of questions you have to think outside the box. Easy marker tho
Aubie gets a lot of slack on here. It must be because he teaches hard courses. He is an average prof, aslong as you do the textbook problems (and I mean ALL the textbook problems for each section) and webassign you will do fine. Also go to the math lab for extra help, Caleb absolutely saved my grade. This class takes hard work. And ask questions.
typical math professor. lectures are ok but rushes a bit, quizzes are very easy compared to exams. gives half marks on everything which definitely helped me pass this class.
Does not answer e-mails for weeks. So if you are not familiar with calculus already then I would suggest getting a tutor. Lectures are tough in a way that assumes you already know what he's teaching.
He will not help you. Very mean and will make you feel dumb,
He is a great Prof, a fair grader and he also has a wide knowledge about the subject that he teaches. If you want to take Math class, I recommend him.
He is a great Prof, fair grader, and he has a wide knowledge about the subject that he teaches.
Aubie is a really nice person and everything he covers in his lectures are pertinent to the quizzes and exams. His lectures can drag on but simultaneously they teach you well and give a good foundation to learn from on your own time. Aubie is a very forgiving marker, often giving part marks for questions that you didn't get correct. I recommend!
I have Aubie for Stats--he makes the class relevant and kind of fun if you participate. Lecture note handouts make it easy to spend less time mindlessly copying.
He is a great Prof overall, he has clear lectures and wide knowledge. About the grading criteria, show your work step by step when you do the tests, he will give you credits based on the solving ways, in case the final answer is not correct, you still can earn part of the points for it.
The class is heavy but what do you expect from a Calculus course? Always available and friendly for help and quite reasonable in his tests and part marks.
Aubie is a caring and funny prof. I had him for calculus and his lectures were fairly clear and they never really went off track. He did include online homework and quizzes, along with the tests and the final, but the quizzes and homework will definitely be easy as long as you understand the material.
Aubie was an okay professor, his humour is very dry if you like that. I found myself taking notes the WHOLE class and not understanding the material until i worked on it at home alongside the homework. Khan academy will be your best friend in this class. He is a very fair marker, and gives you points where he can.
I had Aubie for Statistics, Lectures are mandatory to attend b/c his notes are not available elsewhere. Quizzes are way easier than the exams. Easy and fair marker. Stats is a difficult class and hard to pass. To pass- take good notes, do and re do homework questions over and over
gpa killer
Doesn't Read Emails lectures aren't intuitive, horrible teacher just try and avoid at all cost.
Aubie did a great job presenting Cal 2. Lectures were detailed but were spiced-up with a bit of humour and applications of what we were doing. Tests were about the same difficulty as book questions.
He's pretty good, answers all the questions and has a good sense of humor. I liked his way of explaining math
Aubie is a pretty great prof, his tests are as reasonable as they come; hard enough that if you don't study you will not pass but not ridiculously hard either. As long as you study and care about doing well you will be fine. Aubie is also very humorous, Calc can be quite dry so he cracks up to class at times which is appreciated.
Aubie made Calculus fun (if that's possible). Be prepared and put in the required effort and you'll do fine.
I've had Aubie for calc 1, 2, and linear algebra and he's been an amazing prof in all of them. The tests are very fair, as long as you study and do the practice tests that he posts on blackboard. He also assigns online homework, but the due date for every assignment is always at the very end of the semester. Very funny and awesome.
Taught calculus by doing examples from the textbook. He lectures kind of slow but makes up for it with his witty, dry sense of humor. Exams were fair but the final was quite long and hard, although I'm not sure if he wrote it himself since it was the same among other instructors.
I completed Calc 1 and 2 with Aubie and he was a great instructor. Just pay attention to the lectures, do all the textbook and and webwork questions along with the practice test and you are well prepared for the exams. Besides that Aubie was friendly and made small jokes to not keep the lecture dry. Overall would taake again
Aubie is a great professor! He clearly explains all the materials and concepts, you won't see any surprises on his exams. He is also not a tough grader. Practice a lot and use the textbook exercises and chapter examples to prepare for exams. If I had to take another calc class, I would definitely go to Aubie!
Class is not mandatory but if you don't show up you're going to miss a lot as he barely posts. Never answers emails and side tracks a students' question which doesn't help answer the question then makes it slightly more confusing. Explains topics and concepts using a lot of different examples so if you're into that then take him
Takes long to mark quizzes/tests. The resources he gives us are pretty bad. Why the heck do i have to pay $40 just to use the online assignment software? the online textbook he assigns is poorly made, buts atleast it's free amirite? But his lectures are pre good
His lectures are really good and he's a great teacher. he breaks down difficult content into understandable pieces of information and gives plenty of examples. I will say i disliked his homework rules, having to pay $40 to access a 3rd party site to get 10% of the grade did suck but the main things for a prof are there, fair tests, fair grading.
Aubie is a fairly straightforward professor which is suitable for a course like Linear Algebra. His exams are fair but his marking can be inconsistent, which I suspect is due to laziness. Make sure to cross reference your test results with your peers to ensure you got what you deserved. Also, the textbook was difficult to read and of no use at all.
I took Math 1160 with Aubie this past semester and I really enjoyed the class! Although the material was a bit rough to process as math is not my favourite subject however once you get the hang of it - it truly becomes an enjoyable class. Attendance is mandatory in a way - as you will not be marked absent but notes are barely posted online.
Style of teaching is difficult to follow. Writes things on the board without explaining the process. Does examples of easy questions and then puts harder questions on the exams. Writes over the projector casting so you can't see anything. He is a fair teacher though and you can ask him questions and he will explain.
