good teacher. she actually has a sense of humor, and is willing to negotiate on grades. the only problem with her is that she doesnt give out 100s. the highest grade is a 94 (with 90-94 being an a, 80-89 a b, and so on).

Great teacher, very lenient on turning in assignments. A "you scratch my back, I scratch yours" type person. Great all around person.

The best teacher. If you are looking for a young and fun teacher who is very fair, take Holts class. She lets you revise papers if you want. She has 3 test that are really easy. Just read the material and theres no way you cant get a "A" She give a lot of extra creit chances also. The best teacher!!

This was the best English class I ever had-well the best class I have had at Santa Fe. I don't know why someone would say the class is easy or suggest that she is biased. She is incredibly unbiased--even to the buttheads in the class who don't deserve it. Just make sure you pay attention in class or you will miss important stuff. She's a blast

I find the subject matter (Technical Communications) hideously boring and tedious and I gave her a hard time about it, but she was a great teacher. Lots of writing with research and extreme attention to formatting and details, but she covered everything very well. Highly recommended and I wish I could have had her for ENC1101/1102.

this teacher is fairly easy as long as you go to class and do your assignments. at first you will think they will be difficult, there not. if you take the time to go to her office she will explain every thing very clearly

I do not know where the comments about bias come from. I did not detect that at all. I think that she was very fair. She is also flexible if you communicate with her in a timely manner. She seems open to student input as well.

The student who wrote that Ms Holt is "boring" is obviously retarded and got a bad grade. Sure, Tech Comm as a subject is not a thrill a minute, but Ms Holt made coming to class everyday at 8:00 worthwhile. She has a great sense of humor and obviously cares about students. I learned more in this class than in any other class at SFCC!

She is a spitting image of Joan cusack but much more witty. I thought she was funny and she knows how cool lit can be. She has great insight and says the most random stuff. Her class is nice to attend and shell always give you extra help on your papers. If you put in the effort, youll do good.

Had Prof. Holt for Shakespeare.Loved the class, and many students agreed we never wanted to leave. Great teacher for an elective slass, she is never boring or mundane. I really learned a lot from her, loved her unique teaching style. There is an attendance policy- up to 3 or 4 absences. 3 essays. Canceled our final. First midterm I ever enjoyed.

I'm only half way through the semester and I can already tell you to take Audrey. She is awesome! Quizzes and assignments are tedious but she grades very fairly. Great personality! A's on all assignments and quizzes so far :) Wish I had her for 1101/1102

I am a person that HATES writing papers but Ms. Holt actually made it fun and very simple! Shakespeare was so simple the way she teached it. The best teacher ever, you actually learn in class and always laughing. I recommend EVERYONE take her

Grades tough, however if you are on her good side, its an easy A. come to class, and just understand what she likes in her papers. Tough A, but a easy B. Will not fail you if you have all papers and tests done ( no matter what you get on them )

She is a very nice person. I really enjoyed the class. I, however, did not get an A. I thought that I learned a lot from her class especially during the first half of semester. Towards the end of semester, I slacked and therefore, I got a B. Never slack and you will get an A. Overall, a nice classroom experience. Highly recommended.

Shes a pretty good teacher but you have to work,in order to get the grade you want. There is really no reason why anyone should fail her class. If you do all the assignments and actually read what she tells you to, then you should be fine.Overall good class!

She's a pretty fun/funny teacher, no complaints on her style of teaching and so long as you aren't incompetent getting an A in her class should be a breeze. Show up on time every day though! Attendance is a must.

Took this class last semester, and I loved it! She is a great teacher, and was very understanding when my stepfather passed and I had to miss class. I spoke with her about every essay and got all 94's, so if you do the work and ask for help when you need it, you'll do great. Easy A!

One of my favorite professors i've ever had. She jokes around in class and is very helpful. If you read what she assigns and listen/take notes in class, you'll do great. She does pop quizzes/paragraphs on the reading, so make sure you show up for every class.

She is extremely helpful with every essay that is assigned. 75% of class is essays. She will read and revise them as many times as you want before due date. If you dont get an A then it is your own fault. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Professor Holt is one of the most knowledgeable professors I've ever had. She is just amazing. Even as an international student I found this class very easy and not as challenging as other classes I had.

However, it's a hard class and requires a lot of work. If she assigns chapters, read them because there's a quiz almost every class until after the midterm. I do recommend

I really enjoyed this class with this professor. She is just awesome! I love her Southern humor teaching style, and will put you in place if you show disrespect. A lot of writing. Demanding midterm, but easy final. Big thing: instruction's manual & a 10pg proposal worth 25% of grade. I do recommend this professor.

Professor Holt is great! She has a great sense of humor that makes learning fun. She explains information well and makes sure that everyone understands. Not many test of quizzes, but when there is one be prepared to write a detailed explanation. which isn't hard if you've studied. She only test you on things she has made available to you.

Professor Holt is a great teacher, funny, smart, interested in all your questions and comments. She is respectful to students and is well respected back. Not afraid to speak her mind and gives good feedback on assignments. Assignments are not terribly tough, actually fun, and she looks for originality and outside the box thinking.

Professor Holt was incredibly sweet and would occasionally make jokes that would make your day. She does give a lot of assignments and make you read chapters out of her text book almost every day, but it was almost all common sense although you should still read the book. Her assignments were fun and she wasn't a hard graded. Enjoyed her class!

I usually do not get along with my English teachers but I absolutely love Professor Holt! She gives good feedback and you can rewrite an essay before the end of the term to raise your grade. She's also hilarious. Class never lasted the full 1 hour 15 minutes, but it never felt like I was missing anything. I hope I can take her again!

This class is an easy A. You write a lot of papers in this class, but thats to be expected. She gives you a lot of quizzes before the midterm to prep you for the midterm, then after there are no quizzes. She tells you exactly how to write papers, etc. so there should be no problem when writing them.

For a 1000 level class, she's a pretty tough grader. I consider myself a good writer and student, but her assignments are really tough. NOT an easy A, but you do learn a lot about literature so it's a good elective for somebody who wants to know more about literature. Don't buy the book because most the readings can be found online.

I liked this class due to good the good literature and fun, challenging writing assignments. However, it was a little disappointing as to the lectures, she taught the material but not very in depth. I wish she held the class to a higher standard to fuel really mentally challenging discussion.

Mrs. Holt has by far been one of my favorite teachers! One word I would use to describe her is raw. I loved how real she was with her students. She gives good feedback and is willing to help you out at any time, but you definitely have to put the effort into your work. As long as you work hard, take her feedback, and go to class you will do fine.

If you take ENC 2210 you better take Audrey Holt. She is the best damn english teacher I have ever had.

She is a wonderful teacher. Class is always engaging, assignments are creative and applicable to real world situations. Great communication of intent and grading criteria make the class stress free.

Hands down the best professor I've ever had. There is one big assignment due every week, but she works with you on deadlines and due dates. Replies to emails within minutes, and is hilarious and raw. Lectures are interesting and she respects students regardless of their age. 10/10 absolutely recommend.

She is a really nice prof. I took her for intro to Shakespeare, without any interest in Shakespeare. She has the class outlined early on, so you can plan ahead and keep up. In this course there were quite a few papers and a presentation. She takes a quality over quantity approach to assignments.

Had Prof. Holt for Shakespeare, and I LOVED this class. She is a riot. Even if you're not someone who's into literature, I think you will find something to enjoy in this class. She lets the class pick which plays to study which is super cool. Do all the smaller assignments-they will cushion your grade. Even brought us cake on the last day. Amazing

Professor Holt was a great teacher,: passionate, funny and tried her best to make dense Shakespeare digestible. Free plays on Ibooks. I strongly, strongly strongly recommend showing her your essay rough drafts *in person* to get the attention you will need. She will nudge you in the right direction and your grade will improve if you do that.

I loved this professor. She is hilarious and knowledgeable, and readily available outside of class. She obviously enjoys teaching this class, which makes it more enjoyable to take. She is reasonably flexible with deadlines but DO NOT miss assignments, each one is important. Really great class, I learned a lot.

Professor Holt cares about her students and will go through all your essays (3-4 thru the semester) with you one on one which helps a lot with getting a good grade. She comes off sassy but its a nice touch to her classes and the readings she assigns are actually very interesting. By far the best professor I've had yet.

The course is made up of about 3 essays, 1 presentation, and midterm test/ essay. We covered about 4 plays. Holt is an amazing professor- very kind, quirky, and gives great essay feedback. She will help you become a better intellectual and writer, especially relating to Shake. Great lectures. Not hard, but requires effort to receive an A.

Professor Holt is a great professor. She is funny and cracks lots of jokes throughout class, making it enjoyable. She's a pretty tough grader but is always willing to look over your drafts or to review a grade you think should be different. At the beginning of the semester, be sure to read the textbook because there are quizzes!

We read the essays out of the book and wrote about them and often referred back to them. Her class is a breeze as long as you pay attention and do your work. I loved her very much literally do the reading and you will pass. If you email her and ask for feedback she will tell you how to get an A. I had her for her Summer A class she said if you showed up to every class she would drop the lowest quiz score. Just do the work and you will get a good grade.

Prof Holt makes it easy to pass this class, gives plenty of examples in her lectures on what she specifically wants for assignments and what not to do. Reading is Necessary for quizzes and midterm.

If you're not a great writer already, I would not recommend her for ENC 1101. Even Prof. Holt herself will admit that she is much better at teaching the upper-level English courses. That being said, if you are a decent writer already and just need the credit, she's wonderful and provides great feedback!

Instructor Holt was an incredible teacher and made the class fun as well as informative. While the criteria regarding assignments were looser, this allowed us to be more creative when completing the papers. While having the textbook is highly encouraged, many of us were able to get by with the PDF. I highly recommend Instructor Holt!

It's true assignment due dates change regularly and she takes a long time to grade however, the assignments themselves aren't that hard, and personally, the extensions would give me more time to work on the assignments if I was backed up from other classes. Additionally, she is really caring and will help you get a good grade in class if you try.
