He makes the class bearable. You still have to study alot to pass Organic, but Dr. G. will do his best to help you.

Great teacher. Made the hardest class on campus seem easy to me. You can tell he cares for his students.

This is a great man, and your lives will be better for knowing him. But, it is Organic Chemistry, so be prepared to study your booty off!

He wants you to succeed, so he will do anything to help you, but you must help yourself. I found the material to be VERY hard because I had a weak background in chemistry. One major drawback is that he has favorites, so when choosing a test date or something important, he always sides with them.

He's a great guy and knows his stuff! He explains complex mechanisms and ideas is a very clear way..well, about as clear as it can be. If you work hard in this class, you will succeed.

Dr. Gallo is a very good professor. He will take the time to make sure that you understand what is going on. You still have to put alot of work into the course, but he makes it bearable and gives you a chance to succeed.

Dr. Gallo is by far one of the best teachers I've ever had. Organic is a very difficult subject, but he makes it as easy as he can. Also, he is very personable. GET TO KNOW HIM!!!!!! I'll say it again!! GET TO KNOW HIM!!!!

He is such an awesome chemistry teacher! He is very clear in class so if you go to EVERY class you will learn a lot. The material is hard, though, so you must study to do well.

He's the only way you can pass the MCAT. Take him he's good but hard. it's worth it.

Dr. Gallo is an excellent teacher; probably the best at UL. His lectures are clear and he gives a homework grade, which can make a huge difference. His tests are very difficult, but he grades fairly and gives plenty of partial credit if you have a firm grasp of the concepts presented in lecture. He'll go out of his way to help you too.

Hey he's the best at presenting this hard subject...Just listen and ask questions he's all about helping you out but he won't give you a grade you have to earn it probably one of the best professor at this university

Gallo is my hero. he makes this difficult subject crystal clear! he gives flawless notes so go to class. if you show him that you work hard and are trying, he tries to help you with your grade. he really cares alot about his students- even beyond the classroom. Gallo is grrrrrrrreat!

his tests will make you want to scream. the best professor i have ever had. if you cram for his tests you will not do well. he presents organic chemistry better than anyone else at ULL could. he wants you to do well and will go out of his way to help you.

Gallo definitely helps make this difficult subject much simpler. His lectures clarify what is explained in the book, and vice versa, and he is open to students' questions. Gallo assigns us homework problems, yet he hasn't graded them like he may have in previous terms. The tests are usually straight-forward. Word of warning: know your mechanisms! That's all there is in part II.

CHEM 231, 232, 233, 234 all awesome with Gallo. He's one of my favorite teachers.

The fact that this man is both a lay minister on campus and an Ochem prof speaks for itself. He is brilliant, compassionate, competent. Read the book, work every problem, look over old tests, go to class = A. WORK THE PROBLEMS! Tests are tough, but very fair, no surprises. The key to an A on tests is getting the MC questions correct: read the text!

Lectures are easy to listen to and remember. Tests are pretty hard but he grades very fairly, giving you partial credit whenever he can. Go to class, work the problems, and you'll get an A or B.

Dr. Gallo is the man. By far one of the best professors at UL. Will work with you if your struggling, and is very patient. Just don't screw up in the lab, because he will flip his shizzle.

Dr. Gallo is a great professor. He is very friendly, and he teaches the material well. He gives handouts each class period to help students study. He also puts old tests in the library. It is helpful to work the problems in the back of the book he suggests. Drawback: the test is long-6 pages and the material is difficult.

Organic Chemistry is the best. Gallo's test are somewhat challenging but fair. Gallo is always open for questions outside of class. I suggest do as much problems from the book outside of class as you can, which i don't know why you wouldn't want to do that anyway.

Amazing teacher! Willing to help any student understand material. He doesn't actually 'curve' grades but he helps out to the students' advantage. Make sure to attend every class because he assigns homework that he uses for extra points, which will come in handy at the end of the semester!

Follow the textbook and provide previous exam samples. The tests are pretty tough but you CAN make an A (like me) if you practice them enough. You have to "feel comfortable" with the problems of the end of each chapter too, solve them without helping and check your answer. There is no curving, no dropping, so take all exams seriously.

This guy is exactly what a professor should be. Tests are just as difficult as the subject matter, but they're on what he teaches. Really teaches the subject clearly and effectively (Organic 2)

His tests are hard but he is very flexible if you show that you care by going to his office for help. He's a good person and he cares. Don't be afraid to ask for help with him! It will score you brownie points and he'll be more flexible with you in regards to missing class or dropping a low test grade and replacing it with a better test grade

I walked into Organic with the fear that I would fail because I hate Chem, but with the help of Mr. Gallo and studying I was able to pull a B. If you have to take the class try your best to schedule Mr. Gallo!

But what everyone said about his tests are all true, they are the hardest tests that I have ever taken throughout college. The best way to get an A is practice, practice, practice.

The class itself is not that easy and the class averages were not very high. If you work hard though it is easy to make a good grade. He is more than willing to help you with whatever.

I loved Gallo. He was so sarcastic and funny; it was hilarious. His lectures can be hard to follow sometimes, but he grades easy and gives extra points. To pass just take notes and work practice problems from the textbook, and the exams will be easy.

This is the best lab that I've ever taken, and it's all because of Dr. Gallo. He is laid back when it comes to the lab reports, which is due a week or two after the lab itself and the quizzes are very straightforward. It is a tedious 4-hour lab but Dr. Gallo makes it so much fun and he WILL you. If you want to learn Orgo AND have fun, TAKE HIM!

Sometimes can give very lengthy homework, but GO TO OFFICE HOURS! He will recognize that and bump you. Pay attention to lectures, but he does post all of his powerpoints on Moodle. He makes things easy to understand and he's always cracking jokes. He does care about our grades and is always very nice.

I'm not a fan of chemistry, but Dr. Gallo's class was not bad at all. Tests were very easy; do your homework and the test won't be much different! He reads straight from the powerpoint and tells you exactly what you should know for the test. Overall pretty easy class!

Professor Gallo was a great professor. Attendance was not mandatory but he covers almost a whole chapter per lecture, so if you skip you are likely to miss a lot of information. He hands out handwritten diagrams and notes that are very helpful. The tests are not difficult and are similar to the textbook questions he provides. Very helpful!

I struggled in this class because i was lazy, but if you do the homework and review outside of class you will do fine. He cares about you and wants you to pass. TAKE HIM!

Gallo is a great professor. He was always available in office hours for my questions. I went to him before each homework assignment was due to ask questions. For this past semester, there was 3 exams (100 pts), homework (50 pts), & 1 final (150 pts). His powerpoints are a lot of info. You have to put the work in to do well in orgo!

Dr. Gallo is an amazing teacher! My one piece of advice is DO THE HOMEWORK!!! I did not due to my laziness and my grade suffered severely because of it. He is very helpful. He had review sessions the day before most tests. His final for this class WAS NOT cumulative. Overall, he is an amazing teacher, you just have to put in work.

Dr. Gallo is an amazing professor who cares about the success of his students. If you pay attention in class and do the homework, you should have no problem passing his class. His tests are pretty long and scary to look at, but if you pace yourself and just start working through the problems, you'll be ok. Gallo is one of the best chem professors.

I loved taking Gallo for CHEM 123. The class itself is hard, but as long as you listen during class you can definitely pass. Also half of the class is stuff learned in high school chem and bio 110.

Dr. Gallo is a very caring professor. He is soft spoken in his lectures, but he explains things fairly well considering how hard many of these topics are. His tests are very challenging, so I recommend studying at least a week ahead by doing as many textbook problems as possible. He gives a lot of partial credit on exams and curves the grades.

Professor Gallo is such a nice person. As long as you show you are making an effort by coming to class and doing the homework he is willing to round your final grade. He loves when students make a personal connection with him. Go see him during office hours and he will definitely remember you. This class requires a lot of work but it is worth it!

I took Gallo for Orgo 1 lab, and this was by far the easiest lab I've ever taken. Literally, you show up, take notes, do the experiments, and you have a week to complete a lab report, and he basically hands you the answers. There are a few quizzes but they aren't bad Just pay attention to his lecture. Gallo is better for lab, Simon is best for 231.

I loved Gallo! Genuinely a great professor, but his tests can be tough. The key to do well is to get good grades on the multiple choice problems. He gives partial credit for free response and curves his tests about 5 points (depending on the class). To study I read the book and worked through all the practice problems. It pays to be diligent!

Dr. Gallo is my favorite professor of all time. Organic chemistry is difficult, there is no getting past that. But, his lectures are amazing and you will NEVER find anything on the test that he didn't cover. He really cares about his students and will help you if you have any questions. WileyPlus is used, but he is helpful if it gives you issues.

This class is hard. No matter who it is with it is straight up hard. Dr. Gallo does have some really hard tests but he is the sweetest. If you need anything he will definetly help you. If you have questions make sure you ask! his lectures come straight from the powepoints so if you dont understand something it may not get answered unless you ask.

Dr. Gallo was a great professor for General Chem Lab. He explained concepts well before going into the lab, and walked around helping us out throughout the experiments. The lab reports and pre-lab assignments were a lot of work and took a bit of time, but the labs themselves were fun and both Gallo and his TA were a big help.

I looove Dr Gallo, he's funny and really knowledgeable about organic chemistry. His quizzes are stupid hard lol but the lab reports make up a majority of the grade and those are easy. He's a really understanding teacher who will give you extra time/days to finish a lab and each report is due the week after the lab is done.

Dr. Gallo is a fun professor who gives you everything needed to make an A or high B, I was 10 years removed from Chemistry and he broke down everything so I could understand and succeed. His quizzes are difficult, but not too hard.

Amazing Professor for organic chem. This subject is hard enough but he does a great job at explaining. Very quiet so sit in the front, but you can always ask questions. He also curves ALOT

Dr. Gallo is a great professor! I was nervous coming in to Ochem because I've heard the horror stories and didn't know what to expect. It is a challenging course, but he does a great job explaining the information and provides old exams to practice from. He curves the exams. Just beware of the time consuming and challenging homework.
