I adored Mr. K. I had taken A&P alsewhere and had to drop because of the level of difficulty, so I was really nervous to take this class. This man knows how to teach. He gives you all the tools you need in order to successfully complete this course, if you're willing to do the work. Highly recommend!

This class is an easy A. Mr. K actually cares about having his students learn the material and he goes out of his way to help and provided many handouts. He basically tells you what you need to learn and what you don't and I never dozed once.

Has a good sense of humor and is passionate about the subject. I learned a lot in his class, only stay away if you have issues with doing EXACTLY what a prof tells you to do in exam prep. Must be mature enough to follow his lead.

His class is very easy. Just memorize and spit ou on tests. His tests are very easy and very direct, nothing tricky. The only people that complain about him are the ones that sleep in class and complain about everything. Easy A as long as you memorize what he wants you to know and he explains things barney style so everybody understands!

I think overall he is a good teacher. He really breaks things down so that everyone understands. I think people might have a problem with his accent, but I didn't. If you are respectful to him, he is respectful to you.

Mr. K isnt a easy teacher by any measure BUT He teaches primarily A&P, which is HARD. I made a C in undergrad taking this the first time at DUKE. I made an A in mr K's class. I studied my butt off but I now know it and more importantly understand it. Many students dislike him because they want an easy grade. Trust me he is very reasonable and fair.

Professor K is awesome. I just recently finished his Biology 226 class (A&P 1) and I enjoyed his class very much. He is very knowledeable about the course and he is very helpful. He gives you materials that you probably wouldn't see until medical school. Study what he tells you to study, bring your book to class and you will be fine.

Very good teacher. You will know so much about anatomy at the end. Those that don't do well or find him disrespectful don't listen. If he says stop talking he means it. If he says don't write on the test, don't write on the test. Just listen and study and you'll be fine.

Professor K is AWESOME. He is not easy, but he is very clear about what to expect on the tests. He's a stickler for rules, but he tells you everything up front, so follow his rules and you won't have any problems. I studied hard, but did very well. His Green Book is awesome and saves you $$$ by not requiring a lab manual! Best professor ever.

Most dedicated teacher ever!!! Biology 226 is not an easy subject but if you study exactly what he tells you there should be no problem in passing. with this teacher you will always know what to expect very organized, dedicated, and strict. Strict is good though, that's what students need!

This has been a very interesting class. He is very clear about what is on the exams and repeats the material a lot so that you can understand it. He also helps you financially by giving you the "green book" that has the materials and asks to buy the cheapest textbook EVER! So far making an "A+" I highly recommend him for A&P

Professor K is very caring a clear about his expectations. Attendance and punctualness is a must. Pay attention to specific things that are highlighted or bolded in the green book (he gives out for free). These will definitely be questions. He is so helpful during office hours and really wants his students to succeed. I wish he taught Bio 227.

He is great, just don't make him mad. He gets very mad if he catches you using your cell phone in the classroom. He takes points off for cell phone use, being tardy, absent, and not bringing the materials (textbook, labsheets, etc.). If you are on his good side he will do whatever he can to help you. Very nice professor who cares quite a bit.

While I found his in class rules annoying, as far as teaching goes he is excellent. He provides you with a green book, which is a bunch of handouts and tells you exactly what is required to study for the tests. He does a great job explaining and is very helpful. Be nice to him and he will be nice to you. Attendance is a must.

Aside from his very strict attendance rules, this was a great course. The green book is very clearly written, with helpful diagrams. You can tell he really cares about his students, but only the ones who try. As long as you don't blow off his class he will help you succeed.

Very easy class. The information is not always accurate though, but its not worth questioning him. Everything you need to know is in his green book simply memorize a few pages before the test. The attendance policy is annoying, takes attendance before AND after every class. If you can get over that and not miss any classes, Easy A.

I took Mr. K course 10 yrs ago & I had to retake it do to the fact the course had expired. He is an excellent teacher despite these negative reviews. 10 yrs ago I also found his structure annoying & childish but his structure taught me well & for that I have been successful in other science courses at a University level. Advise: BE ON TIME & LISTEN

The bad? He treats you like little kids with his behavioral policies. You will never get out of class a minute early--even if he's done lecturing. The good? You will learn a lot about A & P. Most importantly, he's fair. All dates for all work are announced and followed and you have been told about EVERYTHING on the tests.

Pr. Auguste ( Mr. K) is a the best professor ever I had in my school! I excelled in his Anatomy and Physiology 1 class by following his advice about the proper way of studying: read and memorize informative Green Book( written by him), to pay attention in the class while he,literally, explains the material again and again for us to understand it!

Okay so here's the deal with Mr. K - memorize the entire green book! Literally, make note cards/study guides for all of the material in that book, and you will get an A. Bear in mind that this is an A&P course - it's not SUPPOSED to be easy. It IS supposed to take up a lot of your time. Put in the work, you'll get the grade. He is very fair!

Definitely one of the hardest course I have ever taken, but also one of the easiest to understand. Professor K explains things so well its hard to not grasp the concept. He is a tough grader and spelling is everything! Attendance is also a must! He tests you on everything he teaches and if you miss a class you wont pass this class!

He spends his own money making material for his students to study and the book you need to buy for the class costs less than 5 bucks. No joke. I took Mr. K for Bio 226. He is quite the professor, different than any professor I have ever had. He really cares about his students and so passionate about what he is teaching, he shows it in a different way that can seem offensive to others. He means well and you will learn SO MUCH. I left that class and to this day can still remember everything

Take your textbook to each class or he will deduct points from your grade. You're going to need to study like you wouldn't believe. He's a good instructor (he'll be very clear and tell you exactly what's going to be covered on the test) but his reliance on the Green Book will leave you without knowledge you may need for PCAT or MCAT; read the book

Mr. K has his rules (he takes off points if youre late, leave early, or use a cell phone in class) but its because he wants you to get what youre paying for and Anatomy has a ton of details. The Green Book will hinder you, though: you miss the prep you need for 227. You have to think to pass his tests-memorizing terms isnt enough in this class.

I loved lectures of Mr. K. His handouts were so useful in understanding the material & pointing out the key concepts. The lecture were very thorough & he never asked any questions on material that haven't already been explained in class, in details. The most important was the time we got with an actual CADAVER. Plus Exams had extra point questions

I got a B and never studied until night before a test. His lectures are very long but he repeats the information to drill it into you. If you try you will pass. He does NOT give extra credit so the grade you get is the grade you get. His tests range from being easy in the beginning and get harder towards the end. I didn't mind his class.

Professor K is extremely knowledgeable about anatomy and physiology. His lectures are long but he is willing to repeat until each student understands. He does get frustrated when students don't participate, so make sure to pay attention and speak up during the Zoom meeting. Exams are based exactly on the worksheets/diagrams he's created himself.

Absolutely loved his class! Not sure why there's so many negative reviews. His classes are lecture heavy and your grade consists of only tests. The material he reviews are notes he has personally created himself and are super helpful and clear, no money wasted on books! He always answers questions and emails, great professor!

So Professor K as he told us we could call him has some pros but equally strong cons. He does not use a textbook and compiles his own material that he meticulously lectures on. However, ALL topics on the quizzes and labs are based off those lecture notes. If you can get past his sometimes condescending tone and LONG lectures you will learn/pass.

This is my second time taking this class but with a different prof and it is very easy to pass his class

I took Professor K in Spring 2024, he was the nicest down-to-earth teacher ever!! We had only five exams in the semester. No homework or quizzes, just show up to class and listen and you should easily pass the class. He lets you retake an exam if you missed one. All the exams were taken home with open notes. He creates his notes, don't buy a books.

Salute to this professor who authored his own book, providing us with better understanding and the most important information we hadn't learned before. Professor K's class is a mixed bag. His notes and materials are great, but can be lecture-heavy. Stay engaged, and unstuck ai can help with study prep. Overall, a solid course if you put in the work.

There are strict rules regarding technology, but they all have good intentions. If you follow his rules, he's nice. He doesn't mind answering student questions or repeating concepts. Only attendance, lab tests, and chapter tests count toward your grade. You WILL have to study and put in the effort, but that's normal (it's A&P after all...)

Professor K is a really good professor and knows what he is talking about when it comes to bio226. Some might complain about his policy on technology, but he just wants us to sit through class without any distractions. (if you are paying for class anyway, why not pay attention to something so important?) Super helpful and happy to answer questions!

Mr K is an outstanding instructor. As a Biology 121 student, I appreciated his clear lecture structure, well-defined grading criteria, and strong communication policy. I took Biology 109 in Spring 2025 and had a great experience. The professor was clear, organized, and truly cared about students' understanding. What really stood out was that he provided a beautiful, full-color textbook for free, which made studying so much easier and more enjoyable. Highly recommend this class!

Dr. K's course is very hard but manageable. His own textbook is helpful, but you must memorize every detail, especially images, for tests/labs. The material is difficult, but he explains if you ask. One makeup test only. Attendance is mandatory—don't be late. He wants students to succeed. If you understand the material, you'll benefit greatly.

I see a lot of people complaining about Mr. K and I'm not sure why. The exams were super straight-forward, everything is open note, and he makes it clear on what he expects from you. Really all you have to do is read the book and ask questions; he'll happily answer them. He writes his own textbooks and gives them to students free of charge.
