GREATEST TEACHER... EVER. I have never had someone teach with such clarity-- I didn't even have to read the book and I ended up with an A! The hw he gives out is just enough to learn-- no busy work. He drops hw scores and mini-exam scores. If you want to understand chemistry AND get an A, TAKE IT FROM HIM! He CARES!

Professor Gillespie is ~25 years old, which make him extremely approachable. He is the best Science professor I have ever had. I hate Chemistry, and he made it tolerable. He is a very likable person. His manner of teaching, however, is hard to follow. Tests have little relation to assignments. HW is due five days of the week. He expects time spent watching videos and reading during the week. I would say at least 2-3 hours of work per day. Tests are curved, multiple choice A-H. Drops many HW assignments.

Professor Gillespie is the best chemistry teacher at BYU! I recommend that you take his class as you start your chemistry series. The class is difficult and it covers a lot of material but he teaches in a great way. The tests are difficult and they are the majority of your grade but if you do all the homework and take lots of notes, you'll be fine!

Great guy, very straight forward. You know exactly what you're being tested on down to question frequency by topic. Last chunk of each class is like a mini recitation where you can get help on homework and in-class problems. Significantly smaller class size.
