A fun professor; read your assignments and prepare for class and you'll do well. She really made this class much more fun than I expected.

It was fun and she is VERY animated. One day she was literally laying on a desk while demonstrating some aspect of communication. You'll be entertained. A++++++

She is an awesome teacher. I missed almost half the semester because my son got sick and she worked with me to keep my grade up and I got an A! She is VERY understanding and gives lots of extra credit. Online quizes and exams are all easy; right out of the book and notes.

I had her for speech. She is really nice and helpful. You have to give about 4 speeches and one group community service project. Its an easy A. I recommend her.

Ms. Jenkins is by far the best professor I have ever had. Her class is alot of fun and you get to make lots of friends. There are alot of assignments but she is extremly helpful when it comes to reminding you when things are due. Also she offers loads of extra credit and she is super nice so she will be willing to work with you.TAKE HER CLASS

I just got done taking this speech class today and I have to say best teacher I have ever had. Always willing to come in early or stay late to help and tons of extra credit. I hate giving speeches and she graded me a lot better than I should have been.

I just took her this summer. I was not expecting to learn as much as I did, especially during a summer course. Mrs. Jenkins is far one of the best professors I have ever had. She was very organized, & always had a positive attiude. She will remind you about deadlines, & will remind you about how attendance can hurt your final grade if you miss.

Mrs. Jenkins is the best teacher I have had at Tcc. I took her this summer. She was organized, helpfull, and actually wanted people to do well. You have to show up to class because there are alot of grades that require you to be there but if you do that, you will enjoy the class and make an A even if speech isn't your thing

I'm taking her for an online speech class! Overall she is a very nice and easy teacher. Supplys work every monday and gives you a week to turn it in.lots of busy work. Her test are not to bad, just read the book and you shouldn't have any problems. MUST SHOW UP TO CLASS 3 TIMES for speeches.VERY clear on what she wants you to do each week.

Ms. Jenkin is fun, structured, very organized, interactive, sweet but strict on attendance. Tests Ch 1-10 on textbook is an online and do it at home so everyone should get A. I have learned so much about speaking in public. I have more connection in this class than any other class I have

She is a great speech professor and taught me a lot about public speaking. She is very strict on tardiness and absences. I took a Saturday morning class and if you were 15 min late you were allowed to come in class but she will mark you absent and after so many absences she will drop you even if you have an A so don't test her.

Very helpful and clear on what she wants out of her classes. Knows the subject very well and is always happy! Took her during the summer, yes there is some work required.... But it is nothing that you can not handle! Amazing lady! Would take her for another course! Made an A in her class. :)

I took this course online this spring and I absolutely loved her as my professor! She wants you to succeed, easy grading. 2 on campus speeches that were soooo easy and in small groups. quiz/tests and assignments are straight from the book.

Took her class online. I just hate giving presentations. But had to take this class. Although I met her only twice for the 2 presentations on campus, She is so lively and beautiful. She makes you feel calm. I would recommend those of you who have an anxiety of giving presentations to take her online class. You'll get an A+ for sure!

I took her this spring semester online and she is a wonderful professor. I had dropped speech twice before because I was apprehensive about taking it. I am so glad I had her as a professor especially since I ended up having a family emergency and I had to go out of state. Only two out of my four professors worked with me, she was one of them.

I took her 6 week summer course. She is a wonderful instructor and truly cares about student success. Attend class and practice your speech before presenting and you will do fine. She is great at helping you relax and provides helpful feedback in a very positive manner. Wonderful person and amazing instructor, I learned so much from her!

Professor Jenkins is such a great and lovely professor. She cares and reminds you on Exams, Quizzes, due dates. You also have the chance to earn extra credit. You don't need to use your textbook, everything comes straight from her powerpoint slideshows.

This class was awesome. I took speech with another instructor and made a C, took it again with Jenkins and I got an A. She is very understanding of people's nervousness. She doesn't harshly grade on speeches as she understand we're not professional speakers. I love her! Would take her again.

Her easy, encouraging attitude and helpful lessons and feedback took away my anxiety of public speaking. She is a lovely person inside and out. I wish she taught the other courses I need to take. Absolutely Brilliant!! She belongs at a university. I dreaded public speaking, but she is so wonderful, kind, and patient. She is a nice grader, understanding full well that many of us are terrified of speaking. My greatest regret is that I could not take this class in person. I 110% recommend her!

She is extremely nice and helpful, there are only two speeches throughout the semester and assignments due every week. I hated doing speeches before this class, but she makes you feel very comfortable and understands that everyone is nervous. Definitely recommend!!

The best professor by far. Had her my first semester and adored her. She is SO passionate about what she lectures, and is particularly emotional about the final group project. Definitely take this class if you have a fear of public speaking. She gives you the tools to work through it. She is so clear on what she expects, it is impossible to fail!

You will not find a better speech professor. She is the best. Show up and do your work and you will make an A. For online class you only have to go to campus for 2 speeches, and do a group project. Super easy!

She gave a ton of group projects, which were often a bit tedious. Overall, she was nice unless you missed too many classes, in which case she could be pretty catty. When it comes to giving speeches, she is really tough on the "make eye contact and don't look at your notes" aspect.

Great teacher, very kind. She always seems to be there to help you. I would recommend her to any individual who frets taking a speech class.

Great Professor. Always there to help and easy to speak with. This is a speech class, so expect to do several speeches. I think there was at least two group projects given. As long as you do the work and she can tell you put in the effort, you will do fine.

Great prof. Passionate of her job, very inspirational, always there for you, amazing lectures and power points. All exams came from power points. I would highly recommend her to whoever needs an A in this class.

Lectures can be boring, she talks a lot and uses all of class time. But she is extremely helpful, always in a cheerful mood and understands that not everyone is comfortable speaking in public. She really helps!! I would definitely take her again.

Best class ever! Professor makes you put in effort, but she is also kind and extremely understanding. She is interested in helping you reach your future career goals, and always has time to work with you. All the projects are fun. If you prepare well for your presentations and meet the deadlines, you can easily pass. Would take again for sure!

Amazing teacher! The class does require some work putting together presentations and writing speeches but, she is very helpful. She does a great job making everyone feel comfortable in her room. Mrs. Jenkins is a beautiful person inside and out.

Mrs. Jenkins is one of the nicest professors on the entire planet. Her class was very interesting and gave useful life skills! She was very clear about assignment instructions and her rubrics explained exactly what was needed to get an A. Each class was so pleasant and you can tell she really enjoys what she does. Take her class!!

All I can say Mrs. Jenkins is just amazing. I did not just leave the class with grade A but I learnt a lot. She made it easy for me and I love how she cares about students grades.

Ava was great. I took her for a 8 week course. She made lectures great & interesting. The speeches were not bad at all nor were the tests. Pay attention to the lectures & powerpoints & you will do great. Communication is key. Will take her again if she teaches another class I need. Totally recommend.

AMAZING!! I love her and her teaching style. If you don't like public speaking, you will by the end of this course. She is caring, inspirational, loving, and truly wants you to succeed. BEST PROFESSOR EVER!! I changed my major after taking her class. Yes, I went to the "dark side" as she says. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

She really helps you if you're not one to get up in front of a group to talk. Her feedback really helps you grow. I took her 8 week Business and Professional Communication class and really loved it (may take another one of her classes). She is one of the best teachers that I've had and I'm glad I took her class you won't regret it.

Very well put together course! A decent amount of homework and quizzes but nothing over bearing. Great professor!

Skipping class will almost guarantee that you will miss some important information. Everything was so precise-PowerPoints, lectures, homework, tests. The only way you will fail this class is if you are lazy.

This is my second semester with Ava. She really cares about her students and really wants them to succeed no matter what. Both 1321 and 1315 are really great classes to take with her. Just show up to class and you will learn something from her. I will carry the friendships I made in her class. I may change my major to communication or even minor.

Ms. Jenkins is the best! She is really passionate about communication and her students, and thats evident throughout the entire course. I learned so much about communication, despite the fact that is was an introductory class. Its a lot of material, but read your textbook and be diligent!

By far the best teacher Ive had at TCC thankful for her, and she changed my major.. shes helped me a lot Id retake 100 times!! Lol

I LOVED PROF. JENKINS! This class was so fun and didn't even feel like work. She ensures that her students will be successful without doing the work for them. We didn't use the book that much but if you have any questions she is very welcoming during her office hours. Without a doubt the best professor I've had and the best class I've taken at TCC.

I took this class as an online 16 week class. All assignments are clear. Gives extra credit. Take the time to practice your speech and re tape it if needed! Only releases work a week at a time so you cannot work ahead.

I absolutely loved Prof. Jenkins and this class!!! I always looked forward to going to class she made it fun. Even though there was alot of homework it was easy and fun. I would love to have her again. TAKE HER CLASS if you have to take speech.

One of the best professors I've had at TCC! Professor Jenkins is so caring and really takes the time to get to know her students. Public speaking is hard, but Jenkins makes is so much easier. Group project at the end of the semester and 2 individual speeches. I would take her class again!

Prof Jenkins is strict on phones in class, but other than that she's really chill. She answers all questions respectfully and helpfully and is very understanding. There was a free online textbook, 2 online tests that were hard although she claims that they weren't, tons of extra credit, and only 2 speeches (one of them counted as the final).

Professor Jenkins is so nice. The syllabus is clear and accurate. She tells you what to expect and basically sets you up to succeed. If you do the work, you will pass. Every week, there are assignments from the book and powerpoints if you just read. There are 2 major essays to be performed in front of a group. She also offers extra credit.

Ms. Jenkins is THE BEST professor I have ever had. She is very organized and will give you a todo list every week of exactly what you have to get done and the resources to do so. Make sure that you're LISTENING to her PPTs not just viewing the PPTs. She gives good feedback and wants you to succeed. Email her if you have any questions! TAKE HER!

I have no idea how she has any reviews. This course is not hard, spend a day and you will get everything done for the week. Clear expectations and not a hard grader! Quizzes aren't hard and mostly from quizlet. You do one live speech and one recorded commercial. TAKE HER!!!!

Professor Jenkins is wonderful! She is very clear on instructions, replies in a timely manner to all emails and questions and is completely understanding as long as there is communication. I actually enjoyed the class and thought it was fun especially for an online class. She is kind and very respected!

Ms. Jenkins was AWESOME!!! I mean she cares about every student and made sure that each assignment was clearly understood and that each grading criteria were easy to fulfill. She focuses on the development and student progression, instead of strict grading but she does hold you accountable for not turning in late work.

Like another said, listen and don't just read her PowerPoints. She is amazing, and she does care a lot. She gives you the path to succeed if you try. She gives great feedback, is super structured and makes it clear what she is looking for. Yes, the videos can be a pain, but she isn't expecting them to be perfect. Just watch her examples! Loved her!

Mrs. Jenkins is amazing, she's so kind and gives good feedback, so you're sure to succeed. Her work isn't difficult except for the weekly quizzes which require you to view everything in the module and read the online book. Other than the quizzes, everything else is easy or fun to do.

Ava Jenkins, she is a great professor who comes at the class with a gentle approach, for those who are nervous about public speaking. About her class it is interactive and she has qualities of a great teacher. The only complaint I have is she teaches woke ideas in her lectures, just be prepared for that.

This was by far my favorite class. I hated the idea of taking another speech class but mrs. Jenkins is such an amazing teacher and will help you as much as she possibly can. Lectures were fun and I actually made a bunch of friends that I wouldn't have otherwise if it wasn't for mrs. J.

Best professor for communications! She made it exciting and I was able to come out of my shell. I am anxious of talking in front of a group of people and this helped me. Classwork was easy. I recommend actually following the lectures as we can be able to use it in our daily routine.

Mrs. Jenkins is the best professor! I used to have so much anxiety when it came to public speaking but with Mrs. Jenkins support and encouragement I was able to overcome this anxiety. Mrs. Jenkins is willing to go the extra mile for her students and seems to really care out their wellbeing.

Jenkins will actually help you become a better public speaker throughout the course. There's a lot of chances for extra credit but as long as you turn your work in, you'll get a good grade. She gives meaningful lectures which connect the course material to real life. I wish I could take her class again! Only thing I disliked was the group projects.

Mrs. Jenkins is the best teacher ever. So respectful and caring. This is my first semester in TCC and her class is the easiest class I've ever been so far. She did all her best for her students to get better grades by giving extra credits. All you have to do is participate and submit your assignment then you are good to go.
