Great teacher!!!! You'll love him. And he doesn't make the final mandatory! And on your quizzes, he lets you use your notes. I would defintely want him again!
Professor Massey is an awesome tecaher who makes learning psychology interesting. You'll never fall asleep in his class and will always laugh about something. His tests aren't too hard all you have to do is show up everyday and take good notes.
I love this teacher!!!! He makes learning fun and jokes around. Test are easy and at times if you just show up to class you get a 100 as a quiz grade. If you hate psychology, by the time you leave his class you will love it.
He is too funny! Take good notes and the tests are easy. You don't have to take the final unless you need to. He tells great stories! Take his class!

Just like everyone said He is a great teacher! He is very funny and will help you with anything you have a problem with he gives extra credit and the final is optional! It is a very laid back classroom and he gives random quizes that a free 100's because you get to use your notes, and sometimes he just says #1-A #2-B, Best teacher!
He is an awesome teacher. Although he does get off his lecture sometimes w/ stories (that are good), he sometimes forgets if he tells stuff that he wanted the class to know. His test are fairly difficult, they are not easy. He is a good teacher and does make his class fun.

You cannot miss a class because he does random day quizs. You do need to read what he tells you to read, its not the whole chapt. which is nice. He is funny, tells stories, and is helpful. Like others said, do not come late, you miss those quizs and those are easy. To bad he only teachs PSYC 2301, we need more teachers like Massey!!!
He is a wonderful teacher. He makes the class intresting, but you must go to class and get his notes because the tests go right along with his notes.

This man is absolutely one of my favorite teachers of all time! He really knows his stuff and I almost cried when he told me that my grade was high enough to exempt the final. I enjoyed listening to his lectures and his tests were easy if you actually paid attention in class. Try your hardest to take this man's class!!!
He's a great teacher, but if he gets carried away on his stories, you miss out on learning, so be prepared to read the textbook a lot if you want an A.Most of his classes are big group classes (around 100 students), so it's also hard to get help unless you go to his office. But, he is a good teacher, so I recommend him.
I really enjoyed his class. I didn't want to miss it. Great stories that do go along w/ the lesson. You need to read what he says to, not all of the chapter. Stay current because of pop quizs and then you'll do well on your tests too. Do take notes. He is very helpful too.

He's a great teacher, he will keep you interested in the topic, the only things i did not like were the way he made his reviews (it was not always on the test) and the test were complicated, not exactly like what he put on the review or what he would talk about in class.
A.W. is a great teacher! He definitely keeps you interested on what's going on. His tests are a little tricky but he gives extra points. His quizzes are ridiculously easy! He's hilarious!

You do not need the book for this class. Just show up to class everyday, take the pop quizes (there's 10), take the notes, and study them and you will do good on the tests (there's 4). If you dont pass his class its your own fault. Take him! His class is the kind of class you look forward to. His lectures are intersting and funny.

I loved Mr. Massey! All of the lectures were funny and interesting, there was never a dull moment. He makes the information relatable and easy to comprehend. He was my favorite teacher this semester!
I took his selfpaced course and it was a tad difficult. Even after all the studying, some of the questions on his study sheet were not in the book. He became hard to get in touch with after the middle of the semester. I'd probably take his in-class course, but I don't recommend his self-paced course.
Loved his class. Easy A and it was very interesting. I always looked forward to his lectures.
The best instructor ever! He helps a lot and funny. I had an 8:00 class an would be tired but once you get into his class you won't be tired because he is interesting with his lectures. Made an A that class was the best:)) couldn't ask for a better psychology teacher.
Awesome Professor, I had him for Lecture,He likes you to be on time.Attendence is a Plus+,He kinda gets aggitated when you talk while he's lecturing.. Text Book is optional, Take really good notes and you will Ace his Test..Note taking IS A MUST!! He does gives Reviews before the test..I WOULD RECCOMMEND HIS CLASS TO ANY ONE
Very knowledgable, entertaining & funny. In my class, if we were happy with our grade, we didn't have to take the final exam. WIN! As long as you take notes during the lectures, you will pass the tests. He lets you know what is important information. If you show up for class and have a scantron, sometimes he will give 10-15 extra credit points.!

Honestly this was my easiest class for the whole semester. The guy is a very entertaining teacher. Big plus, his final is optional snd he has a review for each test. You don't really need the book because his tests are based on his lectures, so note-taking is a must. Plus he gives out points like crazy. Totally recommendable.
His class is very delighting and know things from his life as well. He's the type of teacher anyone can have a good laugh. Makes psychology interesting to learn & his exams arent bad, just study the reviews. Final is optional, highly recommended.

Mr. Massey was wonderful! He does take attendance but gives 5 points of extra credit if you don't have any absences. He gave several chances for extra credit. There were NO homework assignments, just 4 multiple choice tests and he gave us a review for tests. Take good notes and use the book for reviews.I LOVED HIM! Taking him for PSYC 2314.
i had him for PSYC 2301. he is a good teacher. there are 4 tests, but he did it like this for us. 1st Test was open notes or textbook, 2nd test was group activity, 3rd one was take home, and he skipped the 4th (final). he also gives 3 extra credit assignments. i recommend him for you.
Professor Massey is excellent and truly knowledgeable about this subject.I would definitely refer him to anyone. I guarantee you if you are tired in the morning you will not be by the time you leave his class. He gives great study guides and tells you what material to study for test. He is the BEST!

Totally recommend this teacher. He is hilarious and makes it a really fun and entertaining class. Tests are mainly based off notes with a few questions out of the book. As long as you go to class and take notes, it will be an easy A.

I took his lecture class and personally I hated. Let me explain. He has a absent issue because he is never there and he gives no notice. The thing that makes me upset is he has no class structure. It seems as though he is giving good information but it doesn't seem well thought through and processed. I was unhappy this semester because of him.

I took his online course. He sent reminders of due dates and as long as you read the chapters and study, you should make a good grade. The syllabus was clear on what and when things were due.
I took this class online and for the most part you don't interact with the professor. The only grades you receive are from exams which are practically reading test that span a few Long chapters. The exams come from the terms and quizes on the psy-lab so you really don't have to read everything in the chapters.
Great teacher. Take notes in class, you'll be glad you did. Lots of info from the book and class lecture on tests. He is a good-natured teacher, and entertaining speaker. It is a lecture style class, not a lot of student interaction. He gives opportunities for extra credit. Quizzes and tests were not hard.
Honestly, this guy did not teach at all. He thinks the entire class has no brains because he gives us the answers to exams, we took tests in groups, and even open book tests WTF. Good class if you have no plans on going to a university and want to work a labor job where you don't need a brain.
The class seems easy until you actually come across your first test... Nothing that was went over in class or in notes will be on the test and you may barely pass with a 75, even if you studied. Don't be fooled by these ratings. I took the course thinking it would be an easy A and barely made a C+.... Good luck.
Very hard professor, I took him online and I drop his class.. He is not helpful at all and he don't answer emails..
Mr. Massey is a great instructor who has extensive knowledge about the subject of psychology. His teaching style is pretty straight forward. He may occasionally get off subject with his stories, but they are always interesting and they pertain to psychology for the most part. Mr. Massey is a sweet heart and a joy to be in class with.
Overall this course was a little difficult. Your quizzes are multiple choice with having to select either abcde. The quizzes are time and the answers are difficult. I suggest taking another teacher.
Awesome professor. You'll pass his class with an easy A. If you just pay attention and study. There is no reason you should fail this course . Massey is amazing professor . I highly recommend you take him. Ps test are not hard you just have to study for it .

His class and test were easy, the research paper project was really a cushion for my grade. I could see he really wanted his students to do well. Even gave exam reviews before test, if you read,attend lectures and some extra credit, A is achievable. Very interesting class too.
What a great professor to have! Tells stories with his lectures & keeps it interesting. Very understanding professor! Keep in mind to take notes everyday on lecture, take advantage of all extra credit that is given because exams can be hard, show up on time and don't be late. If he taught more courses I need, I would most definitely take him again.
Online class Fall2014. No assignments only about five test from different chapters. Required discussion board for xtra credit. Easy A. If you read the material you should be fine. Psyc lab required with lots of extra material for study. No need if you just read the chapters. Great professor.
campus class - He is so nice and gives easy extra credit! The lectures are fun and he does small little projects in class... like scaring you to show you, you have a physical reaction.
Massey's 2301 psychology class is super easy. Read the textbook chapters and take the test. You repeat this five times. Each exam is 20% of your grade and you get 25 points extra credit added to your exam grades for participating in discussion boards. It's a completely self-taught online class but he is really good about responding to emails.
He taught well, and was very friendly, but he lied to me about the grade I would be getting. Very very very very frustrating. So very frustrating.
The professor himself is nice. I DO have complaints. I take my classes very seriously. I read the entire book and did well. I got an A. My thing was that you are supposed to study for specific chapters and when I did, most of the time, there were questions that pertained to a different chapter not required to study. I had to send him email to fix.
I took an online class with Professor Massey. This course requires you too have a textbook - you will need to read ! Discussion boards are optional , and easy extra credit. If you read (not skim) the chapters you will be fine . On the test, they are timed with a total of 50-60 (multiple choice) questions. Also two short essay assignments.
No complaints whatsoever. I highly recommend taking Professor Massey for general psych. Definitely something you won't regret. Interesting lectures, great notes, and tests which do not deviate from material on reviews. So long as you take notes and read the textbook as told, you'll do fine. Miss class and you'll miss important notes/details.
Professor Massey is a good professor. Grade is dependent on test. He also provides extra credit opportunity.
Grading instructions are unnecessarily complicated. Does not respond to emails. Some test questions were counted wrong when I chose the answer straight from the textbook, and he didn't even consider looking at the questions to see that I was right. Easy subject and class (online so basically self-taught), but I do NOT recommend this instructor!!!!

Professor Massey is great! His class consists of just 4 exams. If you pay attention to lecture, study the notes taken in class, and read the chapters then you should do good on exams. He also may offer a couple of extra credit assignments. You can do community service or/and some writing assignments.
A.W Massey is a great, down to earth and funny professor! He's really passionate about what he does and he explains everything well. What made it more interesting was his stories and experiences in regards to what he lectures in class. Only 4 exams in the semester, so as long as you take good notes and pay attention, you'll do great!
Tbh. I didn't like his class at all. He's really cool, BUT lile he said, his class isn't structured at all. Just sat in class wishing I took it online. The only thing I enjoyed was meeting my classmates. No real teaching. Just reads off notes and tells stories.

He's super energetic and funny. He uses personal stories to relate the topic in a more tangible way. Class is a bit disorganized and I learned a little, but not as much as I wanted to. Good guy, alright professor. He gives out lots of EC opportunities and he provides test reviews. I wouldn't take him as a prof again, but he'd be cool to yoga with.
If youre taking him online be ready to read dont read be sure youre going to fail! He only grades 5 test which are kinda hard and 5 discussion boards.
Psych is not my calling. I struggled with this class. This 16 week online course consisted of 5 exams covering 2-3 chapters. The exams are 50 questions and timed at 1 hour. If you're a fast test taker, this class if for you! Be sure to study-study-study and you'll do great. Do not take the online interactive activities for granted.
This class is very challenging online. You have to read the chapters twice to even pass the exams. There are only 5 exams and 5 discussion boards the whole 16 weeks, so you'd better do well each one. There are no quizzes or even practice questions to make sure you are understand the material.
This class was taken online. Your grade solely depends on the 5 exams given. No assignments, no big extra credit assignments, and no review to follow for exams. You have one "extra credit" opportunity before each exam worth a whole 2 points. LOTS of reading. Long chapters. No real direction on what to really study for the exam. Very disappointed!!
I took class online;5 tests/5 discussion boards for EC. While I made a B,my frustration was not having access to quizzes built into the Pearson Revel product that I paid for. Which leads me to believe he uses those ? for his tests. That would have made a difference for me being able to review material before taking the tests.
He just lectures and there were 3 tests. Super easy and he's very entertaining!
Most often in a good mood and fair-If you showed up and took the notes & read the chapters- easy pass. Extra credit offered. Legal issues caused him to end class early more than once. My only serious concern was that he told an autistic classmate not to be disrespectful to him ever again after asking about spelling errors in the posted notes.
He's pretty fair. I did learn a lot in his class. he does lecture. we had a total of 4 tests he. he was out 3 class times due to flu. some material he gave didn't seem to be on the test but that could just be me. his stories went along with his teaching which gave a good perspective on life issues
I took this class at Eastfield and it was amazing!! I enjoyed Professor Massey lectures and how he relates to everyday life. Take lots of notes and attend class and you will pass the tests. His final exam is not comprehensive. He replied to my email messages, went over my class notes to be sure I was getting important information.
Professor Massey was very attentive to my many questions and concerns. He makes the class time very interesting with current ideas and stories relating to what we study from the book. He goes the extra mile to be sure we understand what is required of us during the session. Get ready to read and be sure to come to class and you will pass.
I took this class online and The tests and exams were fine. The answers were inaccurate sometimes because I made sure to have my book with me while taking them. The worst part is that the Professor never replied to the emails directed towards him which tells me that he is a bad Professor for not responding to his online students.
i took his class i asked for help at the begging of the class he refuse to give help. homework is worth only 10 points and it timed 1 hour test questions are ridiculous hard most of your grade will be based on 4 test , not a good teacher
I took Professor Massey's online course during spring of 2020. The grading criteria is clear however, if needed there is no extra credit. If you're looking for a teacher that will respond to emails and will help you with questions you might have, I wouldn't recommend taking his class.
I love Psychology material but for some reason, I just had a hard time engaging in this book which made taking the tests difficult. The chapters are long and each test was over 3 chapters. He only grades a total of 6 assignments- 4 tests, 1 extra credit assignment, and the mandatory psych paper. Overall though he is a good professor!!!
The WORST online professor I've ever had. Threw us all in the course with NO contact. Loaded the entire semester of work with NO CHECK INS and NO ANNOUNCEMENTS. Just gave us the whole semester workload and left us to fend for ourselves. NO COMMUNICATION. Horrible online experience.
He's a poor excuse of a teacher. would not recommend him as a teacher, at least for an online class. He gets paid to give a textbook and set up quizzes and tests. He doesn't do any teaching and he's not open to helping his students and giving them grace.
I don't really have an opinion on prof. Massey. He isn't very good at responding to emails most of the time. The only assignments are chapter readings and quizzes other than one paper and three exams. Assignments appear to have no due date but are due the day before the last day which confused myself as well as other students.
Hard online class for a 3 credit class. Consists of 10 quizzes (20 questions each & ONLY worth 10 pts each; HARD), 3 unit exams (100pts each; HARD). 1 psych paper (only ez thing abt this course) U get 3 attempts at quizzes but every attempt = different set of questions. Provides Slides that were not helpful. Small amount of pts for extra credit
As a conceptual class, he does a terrible job of approaching the online aspect properly. Only resources are the textbook and online--his slides are minimally useful without a lecture (that isn't offered). Not the worst emailer, but usually isn't very specific in his responses. Some questions on test don't match class material.
You can definitely get ahead of this class within weeks if you try really hard, I did that on accident. You have 3 attempts to retake the test to get a better score, and there was 1 essay which was easy. There were also extra credit that you could take to boost your score, I regret not doing that so I suggest you to take the extra credit!
I took this class as a minimester this summer. Some of the material in the quizzes and tests are not on the textbooks which is very frustrating, only emailed the class twice, and everything is due a few days before the end of the semester. What is good about this class is that you have 3 attempts on every assignment. Class isn't hard just annoying.
Horrible teacher. Worst class I have ever taken. Extremely unprofessional, constantly talking about Trump. The class was boring and no student felt like engaging. He cancelled class with no email notification at all. Did not upload assignments properly and would blame the students for not looking. Do not take!!!
This professor was high unprofessional, non communicative, and down right just awful. We started class June 9th never received textbooks till the 19th and were rushed to turn work in in July 4th when class did not end till July 10 and still have not gotten my grade back. If you go to Dallas COllege d not take this teacher
