Took Professor Elkass for a Pre-Cal summer mini that lasted 5 weeks. Great professor but he expects a bit too much from his students . He's very good at teaching and, he has a passion for Math. I do not regret taking Prof. Elkas I learned more than I have ever before. What I do recommend is that he be understanding regarding Test Difficulty.

Prof makes math worth learning, and captured the attention of students better than an english class prof, and this is PCAL. MINI (5wk) was okay, a lot of work, but you can do it. If you want an A , understand the concepts rather than the formulas and damn UNIT CIRCLE. HE HELPS OUT very well, so ask him questions- more examples, more understaning

GREAT TEACHER!! I took a 12 week class, every Friday 4 hour class. It was tough but he is such a good teacher you will understand everything. Not an easy A but he will have you understand everything to where if you do work, you'll get an A

He is a great teacher, and literally puts all the notes online. He works for you and makes sure you understand all the concepts before you have to work out the problem on your own. most of his tests are take home tests that you can use your notes on, so as you can tell he is a great teacher and i recommend him to anyone.

The class was challenging but the rules and the expectations were clear. Tests are tough but you have the opportunity to work hard and earn extra credit for corrections. You have to study and do your part but he is there for you.

This professor was one of the best. His test were straight from your notes. If you study there's no way you will fail. He is always there for you to ask questions at any given time and the week before finals gives you 5 review sessions so if you attend you will pass the final.

From the beginning I told him I was not good at Math, he promised me that If I was committed to do a 100 exercises per chapter, I will get and A. I took Mr. E last semester for a combined College Algebra and Pre Cal Class. It was INTENSE, we had EXTENSIVE amounts of homework. But if you do it all, it really benefits you to do it TRUST ME. He explains every concept down to the middle school basics if needed. (Rare in other profs) Engaging, funny and real. Do yourself the favor and take Mr. E.

Prof. E isn't the worst, but I would not mind taking his class again. His lectures are okay and he cares about your grade. Beware that he gives a lot of at home tests.

Cal 2 is challenging and requires active class participation. Professor Elkass explains the concept step by step and encourages students to ask questions. He is patient and supportive. You have to do a lot of homework and you will have plenty of opportunities to improve your grade.

He explains things so well, he also doesnt just tell you how to do something he tells you why it does that. He does give homework but if you dont do it you wont pass the class. Hes super funny and his class is the one I look forward to every week.

By far the best and caring Prof. i've ever had. He goes into detail and really tries to explain the root definition of the subject before jumping into teaching it. Calculus 1 is a hard class itself but Prof Elkass makes it doable. HIGHLY recommend taking him! You wont regret it! ALSO, he record his online lectures so you can go back!

Professor Elkass really cared about his students he was someone who went very into depth and helped students as much as he can a very funny guy who really helps you understand math his homework was very understanding and he pushed you to be better his homework is a test but he wont tell you which one his lectures were properly paced and it was fun

Overall would take again, and if you can try to get this professor 100%. Almost no way to fail. Lowest test grade is dropped, and final grade is able to pass you with a 100.

I decided to take his class because of all the amazing reviews, but if you like more of a fast pace lecture, then this is not it. He explains everything really good, but he goes super slow for my liking. He doesn't grade a lot of homework but there is always so much practice in the folders. Overall, he is a good professor.

Take responsibility and ask questions and you will find the class very beneficial. Online environment is challenging but the professor is flexible, accessible and always willing to help if you a re interested in learning math.

Calculus II is challenging but the professor explains the concepts in details. He is accessible outside the classroom and answers emails and texts promptly. At the end of each session, the professor goes over the required homework. You have to be responsible and stay current with the assignments.

I enjoyed professors ELkass explanation of sequences and series. Math is my major and I appreciated the explanation of the theory and the examples that the professor gives. Participate, do your homework, ask questions and you should find the experience enjoyable.

Took Cal II during the semester, I was so worried because math over all is hard for me. He was awesome, very understanding. if you didn't understand he worked on the problem until you understood or asked you to stay a little longer after class. Please participate in class. he hates when student dont. Would take this professor again.

Prof Elkass is a gem. This guy made me love Maths. He is funny and caring. Attendance is not mandatory but once you take his classes you will not want to miss it. He is easily accessible outside class for queries. You can get extra practice questions to improve your grip on certain topics. He works with the students to make Maths easy for them. A++

Take professor Elkass for all the math courses you can. He makes it easy to understand the material, gives lots of extra credit & will help you if you reach out to him. Participation in class will benefit you, hell get back to you faster if you text him & review his after class notes for more help. He made a 5wk calc 2 class easy, 10/10 recommend.

He is one of the best professors I have ever had! Super accessible outside of class especially if you text him. I just took a 5 week course and he made it super easy for it being a calc 2 course. He gives lots of extra credit and ample opportunity for you to ensure your grade is where you want it to be. His tests matched his lectures and materials.

This is the best professor I've ever had. I took all the math courses possible with him. His last class i took was in the summer of 2020. He inspired me to major in environmental engineering. He showed us how to truly appreciate math and its complexity. I am so grateful Elkass was there my first semester. He is also hilarious and makes class fun!

Professor Elkass was one of my favorite professors Ive taken so far. His lectures are amazing and very thorough and if you have any questions hes more than happy to help you outside of class as well. He offers lots of extra credit in case you may need it and hes very funny! His classes are active and fun when he shares his stories with us!

*10-week summer course* Entertaining lecturer with a slight accent but it is very comprehendible. Encourages chat participation and questions during class. 4 take-home exams (+final) & you had multiple days to complete them. Much extra credit was offered. Not always easy to reach outside class, so ask questions after lecture. Lenient & fair grader.

Calculus II is challenging, especially when taken as an online class. The professor holds live sessions which are recorded. This helped me understand the concepts and made the environment more active. I like the professor passion and enthusiasm about the subject. Ask questions, participate, and do the homework and you will do well !!

MATH 2318: took him for linear algebra, he was a great professor. This class has 4 exams, 3 test and the final, one of your 3 exams is replaced by the highest of exam 1 and 2. All his exams are take-home exams and are just like the reviews that he gives us.

I liked how the notes, and the keys are uploaded on Blackboard for each chapter. The Extra practice problems can be overwhelming. The professor is passionate and knowledgeable. Ask questions and participate in class. You have plenty of extra credit opportunities.

Calc 1 online for a 5-week semester and thoroughly enjoyed Professor Elkass's. His reviews are undoubtedly accurate. Given that the course was online and squeezed into 5 weeks, Professor did the best he could possibly do. Class was always enjoyable and the professor was lenient with grading. He is truly the BEST calc teacher. He deserves a +1 ;)

Easily the best math prof. Took him for Cal 1 - 5 wk and was terrified going into it, but he is very kind and respectful and doesnt mind taking the extra time to explain things in more detail or give more examples. VERY EASY GRADER. Open ended exams, but LOTS of partial credit. Great lectures/reviews. TAKE HIM IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH ADVANCED MATH.

I highly recommend taking this college algebra class. He has a great teaching style and provides plenty of examples to help you understand the material. If you're looking for a straightforward class that will teach you the basics, this is the perfect course for you. Additionally, He is an easy grader and the tests are simple just put in the effort.

Online classes are tough and the professor uses Zoom sessions. The class is online anytime and you are not required to attend the zoom sessions. It can be tough to watch three to four sessions weekly. The pace of instruction was intense but the professor is caring and flexible.

Professor uses zoom to teach. All sessions are recorded. Excellent knowledge of the subject. Professor gives plenty of examples and is funny and accessible.

I'm not the best at math, but I still made an A. He is a very funny and caring person who will gladly extend due dates for assignments. The final is copy and paste questions from the other tests, so if you keep practicing them you will pass. The only thing that he did that was annoying was not post answers to the old tests to study for the final.

Easily the best prof I've ever had. Lectures move fast but make perfect sense, and he gives very detailed notes and and his happy to stay after class if you're confused or want any further examples or explanations. He's extremely communicative and easy to negotiate with, and only asks that you give full attention in lecture.

If I had another math requirement, I'd take him for that. He explains everything perfectly, if you don't understand don't be scared to ask! He responds quickly if you have questions! Not a tough class.

As long as you are willing to participate and ask questions, he is happy to assist you. I will be taking Calculus II with him also.

Just an Overall excellent experience. Professor Elkass is caring and accessible outside the classroom. He never made me feel stupid for asking questions. He has a positive attitude and a passion for teaching that is contagious.

Professor Elkass explains the concept step by step and is always willing to give extra examples. I struggled with Trigonometry and I still find it challenging. However,, the professor helped me understand the importance of Trig and how it is going to be used in future classes.

Professor Elkass is an engaging and knowledgeable instructor. While the material can be challenging, he provides plenty of support and extra credit opportunities. I found Unstuck study and the free textbook to be really helpful for reinforcing the concepts learned in class.

Lectures are very well explained, treats everyone with respect and is comedic. Really amazing professor and I hope I can take him again when offered.

Amazing!!! Very understanding and super funny!

Prof. Elkas wa super funny, and tried helping you understand math in the best way he could. He likes for you to listen in class and not take notes (take them at home). He really just wants you to pay attention and practice on your own time. Overall he has a unique way of teaching but it is intriguing.

Elkass is the most excellent, amazing, and professional instructor at San Jac. It's a shame that the SJC institution has not listened to his suggestions, many of which would benefit students and faculty alike. His class was highly enjoyable, and he changed my opinion on Mathematics from a chore to an art. Best wishes to him and his mother-in-law.

I've taken him from Pre-Calc to Calc III and got an A in every class. He completely changed how I see math, it's now something I love. His lectures are clear, step-by-step, and easy to follow. He'll stay after to help until you get it. Truly cares about students. If you can take him, do it! Plus 1 to him ;)

Took him this past Spring, great lecture videos, breaks down the material perfectly, and is semi-easy to get ahold of. No HW's just lecture videos on the subjects but use the videos to help study. He was going to use webcam for testing but decided not to, instead was take home exams. Overall one of the best professors for math by far.

If you're into sarcasm and a little dark humor he's hilarious. Makes sitting in lecture a little less miserable. Says he's mean but he's really not. He's more than willing to work with you if you have any real issues going on. Doesn't really give homework so the grade relies on your tests. But he goes over everything to make it easy.

Truly some of the best there is. Very good and inspirational.
