Liberal

EXTREMELY liberal, does not listen to other points of view.
Explains topics in a biased way. Stubborn, Liberal, impossible to pay attention
Dated teaching techniques, biased, liberal, and often difficult to understand.
I like you AZI

Class is very easy. She gives lots of extra credit. She gives you a whole new perspective of the world. Some students just have a hard time excepting different viewpoints.
this class was easy
Very bias teacher. Course was overall easy. She is quick to debate other viewpoints, but doesn't want to hear others out. I honestly don't know why she lives in America, she seems like she hates the U.S. If you're not opinionated, take this class.

very bias prof. kinda easy, but ****y
Her opinion is the only opinion.Unwilling to help or answer questions.Test are easy and taken totally from lecture, don't buy a book!
Awful...nothing else to say, just simply an awful teacher.
She is very biased towards Americans, seems to think all Americans are idiots. She takes attendance often, but feels free to cancel class at the last minute. Don't try to speak up, unless you want an insult or debate. Good luck.
Her class appeared easy, but tests questions were weird. They were like opinion questions and her opinion was the right one.
Although at times she can be biased, she is very clear and sticks to the literature. If you can't take other's opinions and do not know the basics of sociological theory, don't take this class. all and all she is a very nice woman, easy A or B.
Is opinionated but listens to others as well. Test questions were confusing and very difficult. Class discussions are common as well.
Gives different opinion than one is used to hearing. There is no doubt who is in charge in her class. Learned things I would not have learned elsewhere. if you want to Expand your knowledge outside mainstream America take her class. A++
Taking this professor was my worst experience at WSU!! Do NOT take her! She is biased even those she claims not to be. If you speak out against what she says, she calls you prejudice because she is foreign. She then tries to embarrass you in class!
Friendly and funny at times, can be opinionated, if you go to class and pay attention it's an easy 'A', you'll learn a lot if you care to learn!
Overall, she is a nice woman. She has a thick accent, so beware of that. The book and notes are necessary. She is very opinionated, and Israel is the devil. Other than that, she is good for RST.
Her biases against Americans and Israel wouldn't seem as bad if she would just listen to other people. If you are right-wing, be prepared to be offended. Her tests are worded very poorly in broken English. Very rarely gives points back for her mistakes.
She does come off as unsympathetic towards other viewpoints. Her test questions were odd and test content wasn't clear before tests. She does give extra credit, but if this is one of the first classes you take as WSU--I wouldn't suggest it.
She was very biased toward americans and the military. She tried to blame the class for her nationality problems. She never listened to anybodys opinions.
Had to drop class because her tests aren't worded properly. DO NOT TAKE HER!
She is an Iranian Terrorist as far as I am concerned. Very hateful towards America and Capitalism. She graded me poorly because I stood up for George Bush and for Capitalism. I am wondering why she doesnt go back to Iran, if Capitalism is so evil?
This teacher is very prejudice but wants everyone to love her, she embarasses people in class for no reason and judges people without knowing it in front of the class. She also says she is more American than we are eventhough she cant speak our languege!!
This prof is very opinionated and spends more time in class arguing with others over trivial matters rather than teaching material. Has a few interesting videos in class. Lectures are all word for word from the text. Would not suggest this class.
This teacher has a very biased approach to everything that she teaches. It's hard to prove her wrong even with research material and she takes criticism very harshly. Obsessed with sociology and doesn't have sufficient knowledge of the subjects.
She's quite the paradox. Sometimes nice, often rude. She'll embarass you for asking a question if she thinks its "stupid". Her lectures and notes don't coencide with the tests, and she's very biased. One bad grade and you're through.
Nice lady but she is very biased.
Very unprofessional teacher. Would not recommend to anyone at any time.
Hard to understand, test don't follow lecture or book. Her view is the way, don't argue with her. Refuses to budge on grades, even if you miss by a single test question in the end. Teaches new before exams and after, be prepared to sit for the time.
she doesn't like answering questions
Her tests were somewhat easy, but they do not go together with the lectures or books. Make sure you catch her little rambles, cause a lot of stuff comes out of that. She's very biased, and opinionated and doesn't like to hear other peoples points of views
How could anyone fail her class? Well, I guess anything's possible. Maybe if Wright State didn't admit so many retards,.. oh wait then nobody from Ohio could enroll.
Is not very proficient with English. Spends lecture time doing nothing but regurtitating summarized information from the textbook without adding any insight or helpful information. Some questions on the exams were NEVER covered in clsas.
She can be very nice, but watch out she is also very defensive. She tries very hard to be helpful. If you don't understand go and see her. Her accent is not that bad. I've heard much worse. You can at least understand her.Tests can be tricky,be sure to read
she was okay. funny to listen to at first but then she got annoying because she is too opinionated and thinks her way is the right way. but an easy A ~ she gives about 8 percentage points of extra credit
I don't think it was her that was biased I think it was the students that were biased against her. Nice lady. VERY NICE lady. She has a big heart, and all she wants her students to do is open up their minds, and not be so closed minded.
If your mind is closed do not take her class, she will give opinions (facts actually) that americans do not want to hear. She will burst your self rightous bubble. I love this lady and would take any class of hers that I could
I love Azadeh! Her class was easy because her lectures came straight out of the book but she adds small details that is not always clear. If you take her class, go and visit her office and get to know her. It will make the class easier!
tests were extremely difficult, regardless of time spent studying for them.
Very easy. I used the study guide, didn't read the book and still got a B. She is really trying to be sure that the student has every opportunity to learn. I was a bit apprehensive after reading other reviews. She is not bad, just listen.
Simply awful. She really shouldn't be a professor.
For "western" cultures her ultra-progressive views may seem shocking. Her test material does not reflect her viewpoint but rather factual information. However, she does have difficulties at times with English (writing tests and speaking).
Speaks bad english and has plenty of crazy ideas that might offend any Jews out there.
very terible teacher. seems not to like america so if you do, dont take this class, or at least dont go. i didnt and got a B
I can't understand a single thing that comes out that woman's mouth
I found her hard to understand as well. She is also rude and condescending. I would never take any of her classes again.
hard to understand not clear on what she wants for papers and tests
Honestly didn't get anything out of going to class. Notes are clear but she is very confusing. SHe is very opinionated and if you don't feel the same way she will knock you down. If i had it over i wouldn't have taken her class. Too much stress. Is a nice person but not professor material.
I hated her. She is an aweful teacher. She would give opinions that had nothing to do with sociology. Be careful if you take this class, those opinions may offend some or probably many. She is so hard to understand, too. She shouldn't be a professor.
Doesnt encourage students at all.
The impression I got was very anti-semetic(and I'm not even Jewish). I failed because of an essay that I did not know was assigned.
I was not at all impressed with the approach the professor took in presenting the information. It seemed to me that the whole class was simply a way to impress her way of thinking on everyone else. I would avoid this teacher in the future!
seems nice at first ..but..her personal opinions overflow into class time. dont argue with her, or have an opinion different than hers, she will hate you. from what she says i think she dislikes white people and her opinion of what their views are. her tests are impossible. avoid her.
In response to the person who insinuates that western cultures are too stupid to understand he opinions... You have it all backwards. Azadeh is a hateful person. She is driven by money although she would deny it, and the hope of the destruction of Americans and Jews. Awful, Disgusting, person.
Very Easy prof and such a sweet lady. Offered to write me a letter of recommendation. Although some ppl didn't like her, they need to get over themselves. She's great!
She is hard to understand, the class is very boring!!! The test don't really cover all the notes you have to study the book too!! Don't argue with her, SHE IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!!
Very bad teacher... extremely difficult to understand. Lectures about her views and opinions and then tests you over something else. Very opinionated..(Ex: women should not be republicans)offended everyone, especially the Jewish students.. just awful
easy class... read the book and look over the notes on WebCT & you'll be fine. Needs to work on her english skills. Her tests are sometimes unlcear b/c she has trouble writing in english. She doesnt tell you anything about the paper that is due, just expects you to write w/ no direction. SHE SUCKS!!
She is the worst teacher I have ever had! I can't understand her for one and she told our class that you can't have an opinion!! She told us not to use big words on her papers (I wonder why...she's from Iran) We couldn't leave class early. She is very rude and disrespectful!
Ok, she isn't super helpful, and is unclear, but she's not horrible by any means. She made our class laugh a lot and is obsessed with the topic of sex. Her tests are a little unclear b/c she can't write english super well and I wish she could speak better, but besides that, the class is fine.
very nice lady, easy to talk to too. Always avaliable for meeting. Lots of extra credit, but definitely buy the textbook read it first then study the notes.
Take this class if you want to be punished, she is too opinionated, speaks terrible english, would love to see us and the Jews destroyed, talks about things and then tests you on something different. If she was any more opinionated and anymore convinced that she is right I would have to throw up.
Horrible teacher. I learned more from her teacher's aid then i did from her. She is not nice and has to always be right. She talked down to anyone not of her ethnicity. She told me that she was more american then I because she has lived here longer then I have been alive, but she can't speak english
Can't understand her due to her thick accent. Very liberal and very biased. The tests are hard because it's entirely based on her beliefs; you have to memorize what she believes even though you may have another opinion. Don't like her.
although she was a nice person, she was a horrible teacher. she thought everyone was out to get her, and she randomly went off on our class for no good reason. she was very opinionated and got mad when someone else didn't have the same beliefs she did. i definitely despised her class!
Her classes should be renamed, "Israel: Scourge of the Earth." I'm surprised she doesn't assign "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" for classes. Aside from this, she knows an impressive amount of Islamic history, her only redeeming feature. She speaks like she finished an ESL course last week.
Horrible prof cant understand her at all. I dreaded class but its not necessary to attend s all the tests come straight from the textbook, her lectures are just a waste
kept a scientific standpoint, requires evidence to validate opinions, presents controversial topics to incorporate sociological perspectives to guide the class to an unbiased sociological viewpoint, handles narrowed mindedness well especially when individuals fail to take a sociological viewpoint.
WORST TEACHER EVER! You couldn't understand a word she said and it was so pointless to ever go to lecture...as long as you did the study guide you were guaranteed a C... if you take this class DO NOT take her! The class would've been fun without her in it!
Open your minds. What a refreshing class. Its so great to get a different perspective on the world that the one force-fed to us through media outlets and popular beliefs. She made me think. College students are supposed to think, not waste away drinkink, playing and trying to get laid constantly
I liked her.Yes, she's opinionated, BUT with that said, she also encouraged her students to research their opinions and then show their evidence to back up their belief. Her opinions did not come out of thin air, they were well researched opinions. If you don't like what she says and prove her wrong.
You can tell she really likes teaching and wants people to get into it, which was very refreshing. Good teacher, enjoyed the class.
Great teacher!she knew exactly what she was talking about. She was a little difficult to understand but she is very easy!As long as you go to the review sessions you will pass the class with an A-B If you take this class make sure you take her!
Interesting class, quizzes come from the book so you have to read everything to get a good grade. There's not alot to read and it is easy reading.
EXTREMELY hard to understand. I had to drop the class because I only unstood a few sentences out of the whole lecture. Plus, the way she describes the subject, it's like no one has free will and shouldn't be held responsible for success or failure because society makes you do everything. But, that might just be sociology, but I didn't like or agree
Great teacher, top five in my book. Her rating does not serve her justice. Go to class, you'll enjoy it. DON'T TAKE NOTES. JUST LISTEN and you'll do just fine.
Extremly liberal
Once you get over the fact that she speak, is very liberal, won't let you bring religion into the conversation (although religion is a part of society), and her tests and quizes are as hard to understand as her, you finally figure out both the class and the teacher suck. Pray that you get a competent TA, because it makes a world of difference.
Get a grip kids! It's college, you aren't always going to agree. That doesn't make her a bad teacher. Besides the fact she was hard to understand, she did a descent job teaching. I rather take a class by a liberal than a conservative anyday! at least with a liberal you are allowed to THINK!!
horrible class, run in the opposite direction from her!
Great teacher! May be a bit hard to understand, but if you listen well... You'll do fine in her class. Her paper is cake too!
Really confusing...hard to understand. Not a good person to attend office hours...she is very rude and acts as if you are bothering her. DONT TAKE HER
Do yourself a favor-drop the class while you can.
she doesnt make any sense, i have no idea what is going on and you don't have any ideas what to expect on test.
I really enjoy the material but she is impossible to understand. She knows her stuff if you can wade your way through the language barrier.
Wonderful teacher, definately my favorite. She's extremely intelligent and stresses for her studnets to open their minds. The reading isn't bad and the writing assignments are simple if you follow the guidlines in the syllabus. If you appreciate intelligence and are ready to learn, I highly reccomend this class...if not, I suggest you move on.
she is very easy going and will listen if you want to talk to her. the rateing does not do her justice. i can uderstand what she is saying and i really like her as a techer. i would refer her as a good teacher any day. she lets you have an opinion and thats really cool. the class will really open you up to new ideas.
Very helpful teacher. She is so great, she is like a friend with her students rather thatn a teacher. I usually fall sleep in these kinds of classes, but it was my first class that I was so interested to listen all the lecture because she explaines everything very easy. It is an easy A class, if you take notes in her class.
She does not answer any questions that you ask her. Instead, she tells you to go to her TA if you want an answer. She also is very hard to understand and when it comes to her examples, she doesn't make any sense at all.
Wonderful teacher, makes a general education class interesting.
she is really nice and very helpful..go to her if you need any help she is very nice to everyone..also her ta is awesome...you have to write one paper the whole quarter..and its soo easy..she is really nice
Not a very hard class, but the tests are long. She is hard to understand because of her accent. Nice Lady
She isn't as hard to understand as I thought she would be. Class is a breeze. You don't even really need to show up, just print her notes from webCT. One thing to remember, DON'T ever try to argue with her about your viewpoints, she thinks she is always right!
Not as evil as everyone says but definitely as boring. Does powerpoint and lectures and gives you an outline but the outline doesn't have anything to so with the test, plus you have to write irritating papers. All my class did was argue about politics, which didn't teach me anthing considering it wasn't Poli Sci.
Very political, anti-American, Pro-Iran, Liberal, Pro-Choice, pro-homosexual. Don't expect to learn anything new with her. She likes to express her opinions and encourages anyone who thinks like her. Class material not relevant to tests. She expects everyone to be very attentive to her or she will humiliate them in class.
I found this class to be a horrible experience. She is hard to understand and does not give in to other peoples ideas. I felt like her TA probably was the kid that came to class just for the exams.. he really was no help at all. Which was sad due to the fact that she relied on him to do all of her work.
It's hard to stay awake during lecture. Why she brings up homosexual themes every lecture makes one wonder... She doesn't seem very patriotic either... For a "very important" panel discussion she had Rainbow Alliance - very vulgar and offensive, very open and descriptive. This experience with her has lowered my opinion of WSU.
Take her at your own risk. For someone who's supposed to have been in the country for a while, she still speaks with a strong accent. I couldn't stand her class with her outragous ideas. Still got a "C" though...
The teacher really shows that she has her own agenda and is not interested in presenting the facts and leaving the rest to the student
She is mean. She spends most of the time in class voicing her own opinions. Not only was her class relatively pointless but it seemed like she enjoyed humiliating certain students. She really scares me.
Everyone told me that she wasn't very good at all, but I liked her! Her notes are on WebCT, she prints out study guides for tests, and her TA refers with us. I found the subject very interesting. And she loves dissucion, so voice your opinion. She wasn't even that hard to understand. And if your GBLT, she won't put you down!
Wastes class time with her nonsense and personal business. Her attempts at humor fall flat. Likes to single out students for verbal abuse in front of the class. Complete head case. Total waste of my tuition. Have to wonder why WSU keeps her on staff. If you have ANY other options, don't sign up for her class.
She's a little hard to understand at first, which is a little confusing considering how long she has been in this country. She is very liberal, but considering her major it shouldn't be surprising. Her tests are easy if you print off her notes from web ct and spend an hour reading the text before test days.
Great professor! If you're open to differing ideas and opinions, you will enjoy this course. Many people who identify as "conservative" will be forced out of their comfort zone by some of her lectures, but this IS college and a varying of ideas and opinions is helpful to hear. If you pay attention and have an unbiased mind, you'll enjoy this class.
she will keep you in her class 4ever.
I thought that she was very easy. I think i went to class 5 times including the test days and got a "B". Her questions on the test were kind of specific. I recommend not going to class, get the power points of webct and READ THE BOOK. She pretty much gave everyone a perfect on the writing intensive part as long as you follow directions.
I love this teacher. She is very helpful and has a passion for what she does. She was always willing to help and loves to see her students succeed. Got for it. You will learn a lot.
You can not understand her. When she talks you might as well listen to head phones and copy notes. Not a very good teacher
decent
This prof. was very interesting. She loves what she does and tries to help students in any way she can.Go to her if you need help.Only has one paper and you have an option to rewrite.Has optional final exam and only 3 exams during the quarter. She sometimes even gives the whole class extra points. She also offers easy bonus points.Take her!!!
azadeh never really seemed to speak clearly. she would stumble in the middle of a lecture, and just overall her voice got on my nerves. the T.A. was even worse, telling us that our papers were all wrong, when she went and graded them incorrectly all over, not following the syllabus. i didn't enjoy this class at all, don't take her for sociology
Very hard to understand.
Wow, so hard to understand her at times. For a woman from Iran she has a lot of nerve. She told us first day of class that because she has lived in the U.S. longer than all of us had been alive.. she knew more about our culture... B.S.!
Horrible! She spent too much time being unorganized and voicing her own opinions. This professor is the worst I have ever taken in four years of school at WSU! She picked her favorites and discriminated against the rest. Grades are unfair and biased. Avoid if at all possible!!!
Extremely difficult to understand. Her accent is impossible to understand. Tests are very difficult also.
She was okay
She is a cute lady. She always tells us to be "open minded" yet if you see something a different way than she does...you are not seeing it right. She herself is not being open minded. Extremely liberal and aggravating.
The only real daily obligation is to read and participate in class discussion
She was the absolute worst professor ever, try not to take her. You cannot understand her and her lectures do not correlate with the tests. The tests are not hard but they are confusing. She is very unorganized. The TA graded the papers horribly. I got an A in both Englishs and I got a C on the paper, which is dumb. I hated it.
By far one of the worst professors i have ever had. impossible to understand, makes going to lecture seem like walking to the gallows. Allows questions but only when they are what she believes, otherwise she won't even think about your view, she'll just disagree with you all period. If at all possible, please try to avoid taking her.
she is awesome and very freindly and personable. she really seems to care.
I had her for regional studies. She was clearly biased but I could live with that. My biggest issue was that hardly anything from the review class was on the final exam. Luckily, I had A going in but I sensed that a lot of people dropped to D's and F's.
I think she's great! Sure, her accent is something to get used to, but it sure beats hearing some monotonous drone blab about Soc all morning. She makes little jokes to keep you interested, and I really believe that she loves what she does. She is definitely liberal, but there's not much opinion discussion in class so it's not too pushy. Nice lady.
She is very hard to understand, you must be able to read and comprehend knowledge by yourself. Take Guzzo, if you can. Her tests are difficult as well, and over half our class failed.
She's a nice lady but her class is too hard. I studied for a test and I still failed!!! I wouldn't recommend taking her class.
She's had to understand. I would recommend not taking this class. She likes to ask your opinion and then tell you what you think is wrong and what she thinks is right. Her tests were hard as well, I studied for all of her exams and the highest grade I got was a D. The only good thing about the class was, there's only one paper.
Under the faux pleasentries, is an angry woman. Takes great pleasure in belittling students. Ridiculed and mocked a girl in class so badly she cried for 20 minutes. Terrible to watch that happen and feel helpless. If you take this class, read the book and keep your mouth shut. Every comment is an opportunity for her to hate on an American.
Lectures in broken english along with the exams. Prepare for a lecture if you leave class early. When writing your paper for the course prepare it as you were an English scholar. As for the GTA she is even more strict than the Prof. Don't make the mistake about asking her where she is from you will offend her. I was happy leaving with a D.
Worse prof at WSU hands down. I'm okay w/ hearing others opinions but not when they don't want to hear yours. Went to the first 1/2 of the quarters lectures but gave up when I would leave stressed out because of how big of a jerk she is to those who don't believe what she does. Doesn't allow talk of homosexuality but brings it up all the time.
i took her soc200 class in fall of 2007. contrary to most of the other comments i didnt have a huge problem with her. if you study the notes in class and read the textbook chapters the exams are very easy. Also, i found the paper to be easy and the TA didnt seem too bad. I didnt get any points taken off of my essay.
HORRRRIIIIBBBLLLLEEEEEEE
She is very nice. Gives plenty of extra credit opprotunities. The exams were easier than expected. I didn't own a book and I got an A. She is hard to understand at times.
She is nice. Her TA (Aubry) was the pain in the butt. Read the book, look at the notes and you'll be fine. She will help you if you ask.
not so bad. she doesnt tell you your wrong but says you should look at issues from a different point of view. make sure you know all the definitions before the exams and you should do fine.
Totally liberal!! She takes every opportunity she can to dis America, but she moved here from Iran. You have to read the book for the tests and you need to know some really detailed stuff that seems of little importance. I had to work really hard to get an A. for me the TA was more helpful. disliked the class cuz she didn't like the opposting view
She is a very nice woman, but really hard to understand. She is extremely hard when grading papers. She should be an english teacher. She has a bad accent, and her tests are worded wierdly. I could never understand what she was asking. I have never gotten a B until I took this class.
Seriously I think that she was mentally unstable. She would have "discussions" that would really just piss the entire class off. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS AT 8:30 AM. You will go insane. She was also really hard to understand, she doesn't post the notes online, and everything comes word for word from the book. Do yourself a favor and don't take this
She wasn't helpful. If you want to learn anything in this class just read the book. don't bother with class. Plus you can't understand what she is saying half of the time.
She doesnt speak english well, but you can manage to understand what she is saying. Doesnt really answer questions clearly, but she is a very nice woman. She makes you seek her help. It was an ok class but I wouldnt take her again.
She was very rude and boring. She hates conservatives and is openly liberal. its fine to be liberal but dont shove it down other people's throat
very liberal, forces opinions on students
Be Ware, she is extremely liberal. if you are even partly conservative she bashes your ideas. she is an immigrant from god knows where and acts as though Americans are the worst people in the world! DO NOT TAKE!
She's very hard to understand, and openly opinionated. Her tests do not even follow her notes so make sure you read the chapters from the book!
Azi like most people said is very liberal and she is from a middle eastern country; so her dialect is much different. But if you pay attention, read your book, & come to class you will do fine! Beware; if you don't want to be there don't! She has no tolerance for students talking, texting, or playing on their computers. I thought she was great!
She is a complete hypocrite. She stresses being open minded but each and every time a student presents an opposing (ie. conservative) viewpoint to hers, she berates you in front of the entire class. Eventually, the only students who talk are the liberals or the brown nosers. That being said, I've never taken a much easier class. I got an A easily.
Professor is from Iran and frequently makes subtle Anti-Christian and Anti-Semitic comments. She tells to Students to "Leave [their] religion at the door," but does not practice what she preaches. If you question what she say she thanks you for your opinion and then tells you nicely why your an idiot for thinking that! Easy, but frustrating class!
Somewhat hard to understand, but you can hear what she's saying if you pay attention. Don't need to go to class but won't get powerpoint notes or extra credit that way. She posts exam outlines for each exam which is helpful. I would recommend at least getting the book if you don't plan on going to class.
difficult to understand. somewhat hipocrytical.hated this class with a passion.
This class is pretty easy as long as you read the book because the test is straight from the book. The classes were fun, if she saw it started to get boring she would start up an argument so if you're strongly opinionated attend it'll be fun but if you get mad easily don't because she loves to fire people up and i love it. Great class!
She was very hard. I didn't understand the questions on the test they were worded very wierdly. She has an accent. She was nice, but very strict on attendence. I had a 4.0 before taking her class. I tried really hard, but her tests were really hard, and she graded my paper really hard.
This class was ridiculous! At the beginning she stated that she would listen to the students ideas, instead many were told they were wrong and she said one kid was stupid. Also, for living in America she sure does seem to bash and hate it a lot. She seemed awfully close minded to be a sociology prof to me. I do not recommend!
She is not a bad teacher. She knows what she is talking about. If you always show up, take notes, and participate then you shouldn't have much trouble. The class consists of all tests and that's it.
People are giving her a bad rep. She's really nice and makes the class as interesting as it can be. Plus if you attend a majority of the classes and participate, she'll give you five points extra credit. Tests are easy and straightforward.
She is a good teacher and very nice
This was an easy professor. Test would have been easier if I had read the chapters. Managed a B with out reading much of the text. Writting Intensive class, but only one paper due at the end of the term, with chances to revise paper. Professor got the point acrossed pretty good, but at times there was confusion. Overall Good Prof!!
I didnt really use the text because her notes were straight from the text. As long as you take notes in class and listen to her discussions you'll be fine. Most points that she brings up in class are word for word on her tests. Questions can be tricky. Work on the paper ahead of time and you're better off. Not a hard class if you attend
Very interesting teacher. She keeps the subject interesting and relates it to today's life. If you attend class and take notes receiving an A is not difficult at all.
She has a very strong accent, sometimes its hard to understand what she's saying. she makes it clear that she doesnt want you to get up and leave her class ever, if you do she will point you out in front of everyone, same thing if you talk. she isnt the best at helping you if you dont understand something. she wasnt aweful, just not not that great
I really enjoy her lectures even though her accent is pronounced. She makes sense of the material and tests easily.
Her accent is not so bad. She gives lot of examples for understanding. Does not like when students arrive late or leave during class. Sometimes a bit to fast with slides, but she's an over all good teacher. She wants what's best for the student. I enjoyed this class!
i feel that she is a very good teacher. her lectures are everything you need to pass the class.i got a C but i feel if i would have refered to the book more have got a better grade. she wants to help every student of hers, she was a wonder teacher to me!
Not a hard professor, I was able to hammer out a high B with little effort. I'm sure that if I had read the book I would have had an A. Good over all experence!!
I couldn't understand half of what she said and when I went to her office she was no help. Everything I did in that class to get my grade was on my own using the book. she is a horrible teacher.
Azadeh is not very helpful and isn't a very good instructor. She's very hard to understand because she has a thick accent and her lectures are dry and dull. She calls people out when they have to leave early and is just an all around bad teacher. AVOID if at all possible. There's a reason why her classes are the last ones to be filled up.
she is nice, but very thick accent and is hard to adjust to. read the book!! if you need help go to her office hours shes nice and will explain things there. 1 paper for writing intensive, and will let you see past papers if you go to her office. if you need help go to her office!! she's an alright teacher though
Her accent is way too thick to understand. She does not value her opinions. In a class that is full of viewpoints and beliefs, she is very narrow-minded. She puts you down if your views differ and tells you you're wrong. Copy her slides and don't listen to her, as you can't understand her. Easy A but the teacher is insufferable.
Yes she has a pretty thick accent, but its not impossible to understand. I had no problem understanding her. I like her attitude. People who get offended in this class are putting person emotion and feelings in the discussion, when it should be an open minded objective discussion. I didnt use the book except for when writing the paper. KNOW SLIDES
This lady is ridiculous. One of the most ignorant, rude, unintelligent professors I have ever had. DO NOT TAKE HER. Unless you are a strongly liberal person who hates America, you and her will not get along. I could not stand going to class because of how intolerable she is.
Her accent is not that heavy! I always sat in the middle of the lecture hall and I could understand everything she said! Read over your notes and the book before every exam and you will do FINE! She offers some extra credit and the paper is really easy to get a 100% on if you try.
She is extremely liberal and ignorant basically puts republicans as bad people thorughtout her class, gives her opinion way to much isntead of making their studies make their own opinions..
I couldnt understand a word she said, and when she would ask what we would do in a certain social cituation, and we would reply with what we would do, she would tell us how wrong we were and how we would do the exact opposite. she gives her opinion WAY TOO MUCH!
She was very hard to understand it all sounded like bllahhhhh . . . she had a little swag to her tho that kept me interested and attending class . I would come to class just to see what she was wearng! (= she never let me down tho ha ha she was very unclear about the final paper and the test were ok I would recomend her 2 u if u can stay focused
Shes a pretty coo teacher she will say whatever is on her mind and i love that about her. Yes, she is hard to understand but sit in the first two rows of her class and you will be fine. COME TO CLASS AND TAKE NOTES! test are okay but paper was easy, plus (if you go to class) she gives out HELLA extra credit! EASY A/B.
She knows what shes talking about, but can be hard to understand. It's a challenging class but whether you like it seems to vary person to person. She does have a tendancy to push her own political opinions when the topics come up, so be aware of that when choosing classes.
She's nice and all, but going to her class is pointless. I got more helpful information from reading the book than listening to her ramble on. She gets distracted easily and talks about think that aren't related to the course and basically wastes time.
Teacher was sometimes difficult to understand and intimidating. If you answered a question wrong, she often made you feel stupid. She explained the material well though. The class is an easy A, if you go to class, take notes, and do the readings.
This class was relatively easy. I went on syllabus and test days and did just fine. Since I didn't have notes from lecture, I read the text and did the extra credit quizzes online and got an A. It's an interesting lecture to go to though - She's really passionate about sociology and class discussions are cool.
The way she teaches the sociology topic is quite frankly disgusting. I learned nothing in this class except for the fact that this professor has no other outlet, besides her captive audience classes to voice her political views.
Azadeh is a character. Her class only has three tests and one paper grade. You have to attend class to get her notes or else I don't think anyone would go. She gets off track often and loves to give examples. Class is easy, but she loves making people that disagree with her feel uncomfortable and wrong.
If you are not 100% sure you know an answer to her question, do not speak up... If you are wrong, she will humiliate you in front of the whole class. Loves to voice her opinion on controversial issues and if you do not agree with her, she holds it against you.
This was an easy class. As long as you go to lectures and take notes you will get a good grade on the exam. The paper is pretty easy to write and she will help you if you go to her office. It was often hard to understand her, but I found her accent and speech patterns interesting, so it allowed me to pay attention.
She was a terrible teacher!! She constantly gave incorrect statics and information on several different topics. There were several instances where she was flat out rude and nasty. She constantly said there are no biases in sociology but the class was nothing but biases. Lastly she always said there is no wrong anwser, but EVERY anwser was wrong.
I really enjoyed her class. She kept things pretty interesting but got off topic rather easily too. I enjoyed hearing her own stories and all of the things she had been to. If you are struggling go to her office hours. She was very helpful!
Would take another professor if you have the chance. The only way to get notes is if you come to class. She asks for discussion and tells you what your opinion is wrong most of the time. Her office hours were ok but I found her hard to talk to one on one. Your grade is based on 3 test and a paper. Overall not my favorite class or professor.
We had opposing views throughout the quarter which made it difficult to sit through her lecture. She tries to let everyone share their opinion but if she disagrees she tells you. There were very heated discussions. Very thick accent. Makes silly rules to make it impossible not to focus on her. Class material is pretty easy overall.
The only class I have actually enjoyed. I went to class because I loved the teacher. She made me want to major in Soc.
I loved her! I thought she was hilarious! But some of the things she said about certain issues rubbed me the wrong way. Overall, the class is pretty easy; lecture notes and one paper due at the end of the quarter.
She didn't really teach that well. You're better off just skipping class and reaading the book. The extra credit is easy. She uses the same questions on her exams. In terms of her personality, she's horrible. She won't let you leave class unless you ask her. She treats it like an elementary level class.
I agree 100% with what the person who posted on 11/14/12 said. I started out attending class and got high B's on her test. I then started skipping, because I do not like the class, and I go the same test grade. Just read the book and look at the end of the chapter for summaries, & the quiz. Also, the paper is easy. I put little time in, and got 100
She tries to be personable, but it's difficult when people don't talk. She goes through the slides pretty fast, but don't worry if you miss it, because the definitions are in the book. The paper is fairly easy, and she's more than willing to answer questions, but try to get it in early. She is a bit strict, but she's nice, just give her a chance.
Sometimes was hard to understand. Good class and pretty easy to pass
Great teacher. When i had a problem with a text showing up on pilot she went above and beyond to make sure i got my grade in. Easy test if you pay attention to class. Sometimes hard to understand but if you sit close to the front it is a lot easier and their is always a lot of seats open up front. I would take her again.
The exams were all really easy, pretty much straight out of the book, but if you don't attend class she docks your grade. Professor was contradictory, saying one thing but doing another. She was not helpful to me at all, asked her several times about a strange attendance mark (I was marked as absent and present on same day) and she never explained.
This was an Honors Course. She gave lots of extra credit which helps a lot. Her accent is so bad its sometimes hard to understand. Goes way to fast during PowerPoint slideshow. Pretty much pointless going to class but was mandatory to attend.
Mrs. Jahanbegloo can be stict at times but she is a faily decent teacher. Her accent is pretty hard to understand and goes through slideshow to fast.
I have taken SOC before but this lady just kinda ruined it for me.
very reasonable prof. she tries to help in every way possible. she has an accent but she is still very clear and understandable. go to class and listen then give the book a quick look and you'll get an A.I would take her again. she made me look at things differently.
Awful. Impossible to understand and get angry and you ask her to repeat herself. Easy class, but not worth the headache of her.
Hard to understand, too opinionated and is closed minded to other thoughts/opinions, does not stress use of textbook and lectures don't help you on tests. read your book and you will do fine. horrible professor though, take a different one if possible.
You can't understand her. She's rude and goes off topic a lot. Don't have your phone out at all because she will yell at you in front of the whole class for at least 10 minutes. She's boring, and her voice is annoying. GET ANOTHER PROFESSOR ASAP if you have her.
Loved the class. Loved the TA. She is way too hard to understand. She is lazy. The TA does most of the work but that is okay because he is awesome The exams are exactly from the text book
hard to understand and very one-sided. i didn't enjoy this class at all.
Very hard to understand, but TA helped a lot with exams since she did not go over most of the material.
She is quirky, funny, just all around really fun to be around. She is very understanding.
Okay so she's not evil or crazy, but she will definitely argue against opinions for the majority of class. Her heart is in the right place though, not a bad person, just definitely not my favorite prof. Rely on the TA study sessions to get you through exams, and she gives pop quizzes sporadically. Read the book and you'll most likely pass.
I'm sure she is very smart, but she is also extremely rude. The tests are online so the only reason you are coming to class is to take a pop quiz .. in the end. She spends a good portion of the class yelling about our behaviour, having phones out or our participation. Don't say anything negative or she will freak out.
Extremely opinionated, can be slightly offensive if you don't agree with her. Most lectures are personal rants rather than topic coverage. Which is why most don't come to class.. and that only makes her rant more. I was so excited to take her intro to sociology class and am interested in course material. Disappointing course to say that least.
Has a heavy accent. Hard to understand. Gets mad if you ask her to repeat herself. Lectures have nothing to do with the quizzes so I stopped going and just read the book and still passed with a 90. You can honestly not even buy the book though and you'd be completely fine since there is a quizlet with all the chapters. Overall glad its done.
Go to her office hour and ask her to help you with your paper. She can be very confusing about what she wants. It's better to write a rough draft early and have her say it's bad than just turn in a bad paper to start. Beware of pop quizzes.
Azadeh Jahanbegloo has the potential to be a good instructor. However, she is Iranian and it is rather clear English is not her first language. She is hard to understand. Fortunately, all of her exams are online (Open book, google answers), unfortunately, nothing you cover in class is on the exam. She even knows that. Class is easy, doesnt need her
Professor Jahanbegloo was a bit difficult to understand initially, but you get use to it. She made the course interesting and was very interactive during lectures. I definitely say take her course. If you need any help what so ever, GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS!
She is the sweetest lady ever! :)
hard to understand first of all , also goes off topic really easy and rants about unnecessarily thing's disrupting lecture
*Ranting about how businesses ship jobs overseas *Kid says " my dad owns a business and keeps jobs in the US" *Jahanbegloo replies "must be a bad business if you're stuck here at Wright State" *Rekt *Classroom begins huge argument with teacher *Teacher storms out of the room, my friend has here the next period, but she's still gone Average day
Hard to understand and a lot of times she will go on a little rant. Tests are an Easy A, just google the answers, quizzes are over PP slides.
She is a very rude professor. We are paying for her class but she acts like a boss and like she is paying us to be there. She is very rude and always calls out students. She tells us not to judge her off of her accent but I am judging her off of her poor attitude. She really needs to create a better classroom and stop yelling at students.
Jahanbegloo was very difficult to understand, and got very angry with you if you could not understand her. Thankfully you can google all of the answers to test questions, or else i would've really struggled
Online at home exams and quizzes in class are a little difficult but if you study you'll be fine.
Professor Jahanbegloo is an excellent instructor. She is very passionate about her lectures and keeps them interesting. She sometimes goes off on tangents but keeps it relevant. Sticks to her syllabus and clearly explains what she expects from students. Come to class, pay attention, and take notes and you'll be fine.
She constantly asks for feedback during class but as soon as someone suggests that she's doing something poorly she loses it and goes off on them. Incredibly rude to students as well.
Didn't like her got into an argument after class about some false stuff and she wouldn't even let me get a word out. Hard to understand won't answer many questions especially about the syllabus. I didn't use the book the whole year until one paper where we had to cite the book and I didn't even use the book so if you can you should just borrow it.
She wanted feedback from her students usually just to argue with them. I talked face-to-face with her a few times and she was very polite and helpful. If you say something in class you will get a completely different person. Tests are on google, quizzes are a little tough. Extremely liberal and wouldn't listen to any other view point.
Personally, I didn't like her she was a nice person. Tough class be prepared
So actually she is sweet but at times gets very rude and doesn't understand what the student is saying and assumes stuff. Wastes class in discussions on useless stuff and likes to hear good stuff about her. Her mood swings just occurr any minute so beware kind of psych. Quizzes are based on class ppt and all exams on quizlet.
I found her very disrespectful towards students. She asks for student participation in class but if you disagree with her views she become very upset. She calls students out for their opinions as well. If you are pretty conservative I highly advise against her, she's extremely liberal.
She's way too opinionated, she'd ask the class to share opinions then would get mad when it wasn't exactly what she wanted. Her class isn't too hard overall, the online tests are easy, she just isn't a good teacher.
I absolutely hated her lectures. It felt like she was yelling at you the entire time. If you want to actually learn about sociology, take someone else. If you want to just fly by with an A or B, take her. All exams are online (can find the answers on quizlet), 2 short papers, a few in-class quizzes and group activities. Don't buy the book.
She was a sweet lady. People give her a bad rap, I don't know why. Act like you care about what you're learning and she's a breeze. Total sweetheart, honestly, I run into her around town and she's always sweet and personable. Easy class.
Generally nice, but very opinionated. If you don't agree with the content in the class, then you probably won't enjoy your time there. Lots of pop quizzes and group activities that aren't mentioned prior to that class as well. Even though attendance isn't mandatory, I always felt the need to show up just so I don't miss any graded activities.
Shes a good woman and people dont like her lectures because shes opinionated but shes never been rude to a student because of their opinion. Only called into question why they might feel that way. Shes got a good class and Ive learned a good amount about sociology.
Gives lots of extra credit to people who attend her lectures. Exams are online and quizzes are in class and based off her lecture slides. She's very nice but gets frustrated if you don't participate. There are random unannounced in class activities for points so you need to attend class.
She's horrible. She goes on so many tangents, and thinks her giving real life scenarios for everything is going to help you understand topics. You have two papers due throughout the duration of the course, and you don't hear anything about them other than titles and due dates. She doesn't go over any criteria or anything. Syllabus isn't clear.
She tries to be caring, but she's not usually open to any criticism, and has very strong opinions. Skipping class usually won't hurt you, but there are randomly assigned group assignments and she'll give out extra credit just for showing up sometimes. Also, don't get the textbook. We are allowed to use the internet, and the exams are on quizlet.
This class is based on lectures and your quizzes/tests will be online. This professor did not give clear feedback on any assignments/paper that we had to turn in. She was not approachable and she didn't show any interest in our learning. I did not enjoy this class or how it was managed. I don't recommend this professor.
Great professor. Super nice. She has an accent so she can be misunderstood by a lot of people. But she gives you a very BASIC understanding of sociology. If that is your major, I probably wound recommend taking her, because she isn't crazy detailed. But she only has you do 2 papers and all "exams" can be found on quizlet so dont get the book.
Professor does not set clear expectations. She spends most of the class talking about her grandson and trying to make lame jokes. She does not elaborate on concepts and her quizzes and exams do not reflect the material we go over in class. No rubrics and she seems like she doesnt even understand the things she is teaching. Poor organization.
SHE DOES NOT REPLY TO EMAILS. do not email her. I talked to several students and replying to emails is just something she does not do. She is very opinionated and loves to talk about herself. We spent more time talking about her than sociology. She does not have clear expectations for one paper she literally just says write a research paper.
You can tell that she knows what she is talking about but she is not the best at communicating it to students. She was very caring and enjoyed it when people came to office hours. She is very difficult to reach in any way other than in person because she is an older woman who struggles with anything technology related.
This is a really easy class. Exams are online and quizzes are in class. You can google the answers for the online exams really easy and for the quizzes all you have to do is read over the PowerPoints and you'll do fine. There is two easy research papers that don't take that long. TAKE HER SHES GREAT!!!
Very easy class. Exams are online and quizzes are in class, but they're really easy just read over the PowerPoints. She's a really nice proffesor and she gives extra credit.
Very easy class and I would recommend it to anyone looking to take a easy sociology class for credit !
Jahanbegloo was not a great professor. She insists on everyone coming to class but all she does in class is read the slides that are already available and if you read the book, its information you already know and isnt being elaborated on. Only reason to go to class is for the random in class assignments and quizzes.
Show up to class you have graded group assignments randomly. You have a quiz or exam every week and they have nothing to do with what she lectures about exams online, quizzes in class. Two papers due throughout the class grades by the TA.
This class was an easy A. A total of 4 exams and 2 essays that had to be 2 pages. ENTIRE exams are on quizlet. I took it during covid so everything was online and there was no set meet time, not sure how she would be for in person classes.
Jahanbegloo was an OK professor. She was kind of hard to understand during lectures, but everything she said was wrote out on the slides, so it was still possible to take notes. The most we had to do for assignments was the Inquizitives, which were nothing draining. You have guidance all semester to do the WAC essay, which is not bad. Easy grade!
The class is an easy A. However, she can be a bit harsh at times. A classmate was called out for yawning in class. She would also say that if we spelled her name wrong on the scantron, she would "shred your test". So, I literally made sure to memorize the spelling of her name. Common sense information, otherwise.
I never talked to this professor throughout the class, if you actually want to learn the material good luck. 4 exams are scheduled throughout the semester, no assignments, no lockdown browser, and a 5 hour time limit for each exam but it only takes about an hour. Easiest class I have ever taken. A textbook is listed but I didn't use it at all.
I took the online sociology class! there were Only 4 or five exams and that was it! Material was easy and passed every exam! I would recommend the online class!
The material is straightforward, but the professor can be strict. Use unstuckstudy AI and the textbook to stay on top of the 4 exams. With focus, this easy A is doable.
