She's not real hard, but lectures are nearly useless. Horrendous to understand, can't even do her own examples on the board, can't explain anything. if you only learn from book and take test, not hard to get an A. take Matsumoto if possible.
I learna lot from her. She is helpful if you are loss on a concept and can go to her office to get help. She is realistic about using stats in the real world, and I did enjoy her class
Beware: her online class has quizzes almost every week. She does a lot of homework problems in class. Sometimes messes answers up during lecture - students have to correct her. Good attitude.
no stress class! just follow the syllabus and you are good to go!
best math teacher i ever had
She was very easy, too easy she gave us the test before to study off of. She also allowed notes or the book to use on the test. The only problem is when you have to take an upperdivision stats class you might be lost.
not helpful when asking questions
open book tests which makes stats 100xs easier. i got an A and did very little work. easy class.
She gives reviews with the wrong answers and never takes the time to change them!
She is pretty easy-going, but her lecture is aweful disorganized. Her tests don't look anything like the homework assigned. If you can teach yourself from the book good, otherwise take someone else.
Hands down the worst prof. I have ever had! She makes it very evident that she is only there for her pay check. Poor lectures, wrong answers on the reviews and tests. If you are planning on taking other stats classes later on don't take her, you'll be los
Very bad job at explaining...she would make a mistake every class sometimes so bad I had to rip out whole pages of not book. I felt that I couldn't approach her so I got help from physics teacher (Yang)
If your not the type who needs babysitting, you'll be good to go.
One of the most boring and disorganized teachers I've ever had but not particularly difficult. Her voice is a bit annoying.
Does put wrong numbers on the board sometimes, so pay attention. Otherwise, explains material with skill and thoroughness. Also, has a great sense of humor and is a fun and warm person.
My God she is Easy! :) The last couple of exams...the class average has been in the 90s! :)I am heading towards my first A in calculus. She is real nice and is an understanding person. Highly recommended!
Doesnt explain things well, goes too fast
Easy. She's very sweet! Pay attention in class and you'll do fine.
Not a hard class. She's pretty nice; a bit ditzy, but pretty good at teaching.
If you want a class to sleep through, take one from her. She's BEYOND boring, you can barely hear her, she's at least ten minutes late to class every single day. I feel sorry for the kids that actually need to learn this material, because I really don't see how she could teach them, due to her half assed methods of working through numbers.
She's an OK teacher, but almost always 10-15 minutes late to class. The only thing I don't like about the way she teaches is her telling us what we'll do when we're in Trig or Calc...WE ARE IN GEOMETRY...teach us that! Though she does let you ask questions ON the exam, and have extra time if you need it.
horrible teacher though. I think she hates guys. a class mate would be talking to me trying to get help and i wasn't the one talking and she threatened to throw me out. she hated me after that. I set the high scores on test, after that got a 50% had to go to another teacher to prove to her i was right to get points back srewed me out of an A
She makes mistakes once in awhile, but she teaches the concepts that you need to know. She gives extra credit and group projects. She grades tests and quizzes very quickly. If you take notes and pay attention, I think you will get an A. It's all up to you. Do your homework without the answer book. I would recommend her.
For those who actually needs to learn something from this class, do not take her. Class is pretty easy because she chops off a lot of material, but her exams are way off from what you learn in class.
Azin is a talentless, narrow-minded, unstable hack. She throws a hissy-fit if she gets something wrong and somebody notices. She skips entire chapters of lecture to keep up with her syllabus. The tests are easy because she allows notecards and simple because doesn't understand the material well enough to write creative questions.
Not a great teacher, but not as horrible as they say. She goes over subjects well, but so slowly - we did a homework example problem on the board once that took two entire classes to finish. She talks ...very... slowly and has no idea how to answer questions, but you won't need to ask anyway because tests are open book. A very, very strange woman.
She should be a little more clear with her instructions. i had to teach myself most sections. she also gets mad when you ask questions.
Azin is extremely helpful, specially in her office hours. If you have a problem undrestanding her do to her office hours. She is ver humble and kind.If you practice the homeworks and chpter review and test (available online),You should be fine. But make sure you submit all of the homework and extra credit.Easy A.
Azin is extremely helpful, specially in her office hours.Exams and projects are all online. If you do not undrestand the material go to her office hours. She is a sweetheart.
She is helpfull teacher just you need to foollow her directions. If you will get all notes and read the book then you will understand matirial and you will get a good grade. She is good a teacher.
My concern with her is that she taught a hybrid course, which would require online study in addition to in-class study; otherwise, you'd fall far behind. But she didn't check her email or messages all week so there was no online aspect to the hybrid course. It was just a very difficult class material-wise with less teacher time. Not hybrid.
pretty easy class.. take the hybrid course.. attendence is worth a lot of points so go to class.. gave a take-home exam.. online quizzes.. little homework (gives full credit for attempting it).. take the online hybrid course for an easy semester.. get a C easily.. may not do so well in upper-division stats class because you don't do much here..
If you want to teach yourself statistics, take this class. I'm an A student and I got a very low B. This teacher is nuts. Very unclear. Unorganized. Silly. The open book tests don't help.
She has a heavy accent, but if you pay attention and do the examples with her you will do fine. She goes over the homework in class and make sure you pay attention to her examples because they end up being test questions. Tests are multiple choice except for a few problems to do by hand.
She's funny. Not strict at all. She's pretty fair game. You will have to try to understand the materials yourself sometimes because she's sometimes vague on some concepts. Coffee on her desk is a good sign she'll be nice that day which is almost everyday.
Great professor who offers a chance to earn extra credit and has group projects. Took it during summer 8wk session and just got an A in the Calc II course!! You have to study though and do the homework problems without the solutions guide.
I took CalcII from this teacher during the Summer semester. She is an Excellent teacher. I had trouble at the start of theSemester and she help me through it. She was always willing and there to help. Also dont be afraid to ask questions. I highly recomend this teacher
not good
If you want a guaranteed A in Calc 2, then take this professor during the summer. But I do warn you, you might not be prepared for Calc3 as much as you should be. Quizzes and exams were not too hard. Some exams were exact replicas of practice tests she gave out. Gave 40pts worth of extra credit. Group projects were reasonable. Very approachable.
Terrible teacher. i went through it wouldnt want anyone else to go through it. it was a waste of time. did not learn anything and can not understand anything she says
The most unorganized class I have ever taken. The syllabus was invalid probably the first day. The book covered about half of what the class was going to cover. She ?made up? for the confusion by doing test problems (on the day of the test) on the board for those with no shame. But she was a nice lady.
She's giving tests for chapters like 3,4 and 5 when she's still BARELY covering chapter 2. DO NOT take this class unless you basically want to teach/re-teach yourself. No help at all
The professor wasn't what I was expecting. I had a hard time understanding her.
If you want to learn, she is not a teacher for you. But if you want an essay A without learning much then....
OMG LOVED HER!! EASY YET EDUCATIONAL!! MUST TAKE..
she was one of the nicest ladies you will ever meet. but after the first week i thought she was high. the whole semester i didnt learn one thing from her and lectures suck, i hated going to class. i got a c in the class from myself teaching. the book taught more than her.
LOVE her. Her lectures can drag on sometimes, but she just tries to make sure than everyone understands everything. She has a slight accent but nothing where you can't understand. Wonderful teacher, and looking forward to taking Math400 and Math 401 with her.
She was very nice, and handed out a ton of extra credit. However, her lectures are too short and very poor. Study the tests she give you before the actual test and you'll do fine.
She's very biased; she will either like you a lot or hate you. Try to get on her good side by being prepared. The tests weren't so hard, just study the chapter reviews online. The quizzes are online and so you can take them twice. You don't really learn a lot in this class, but if you want to just pass, then I highly recommend this class.
HORRIBLE!! DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! She does not care for explaining any information. Chooses favorite students and ignores everyone else. Does not let you know of upcoming exams! You are better off not coming to class, studying the work yourself and just taking the exams because you will not learn anything in her class!!!
This fall sem. has been my second time taking one of enshais classes and I like her a lot. She offers alot of extra credit and she's very liberal about collecting homework. She has a very sweet demeanor and is very approachable however she goes over some material as if you are familiar with it. You should take her if you are serious about math!
3 exams & attendance gets you easy points. In the beginning, i thought she was genuinely nice. But that soon faded & then one week before the final she completely flips and kicks out this black guy for looking at a similar but "wrong" table online. she called security & everything, completely uncalled for. fairly easy but insane. do not recommend.
she's a very sweet lady and knows the material. but dont ask her to clarify anything that might make her think your correcting her. ive seen too many kids get on her bad side in the 2 weeks of class already.
I've been taking college courses for 10+ years, I have 2 college degrees, an d I can say she is absolutely the worst professor I have ever had.
Really hard to believe she is tenured.
OMG!!! all these people writing this stuff in a bad mood!!! Professor Enshai is super helpful. Not only is she willing to help during office hour, she wrote a letter of reccomendation for me and helped me apply for a research program at UC Dvais. No other teacher eever done that for me. She is the awsomest!!! Take her
Did well in the course, but would have avoided if possible. Do not take this professor. She is not helpful and you will be absolutely miserable. Seriously.
do NOT take her, unless you want an easy A, she's not clear, she talks ridiculously slow, and moves on to the next prob w/o finishing the last one. book/att is manadatory. She will make you look like an idiot if you ask her a simple Q; told one student he is incompetent for bringing the wrong book. HORRIBLE "teacher".
You will immediately know when she is in a bad mood because she will not hesitate to take out her frustration on students. On these days ask questions carefully as she has a tendency to assume everyone is trying to either question her intelligence or her authority. Otherwise she is very pleasant and can be helpful. Read text in book for extra help.
I am really bad at math and this professor helps if you ask for it. Homework she assigns does help you prepare for the test. The book is used constantly so you need it for class. Really good teacher if you want to pass. She gives easy extra credit points.
If you show up, do the homework, and try Professor Enhai is more than willing to help. DO NOT GET ON HER BAD SIDE.
This teacher is completely bonkers. Its easy to get a good grade in as long as you leave your phone at home, keep to your self, and don't ask any questions that she might misunderstand as you trying to correct her. I'm not sure if it's an age or cultural difference but she is really awful.
Took Calc 2 at ARC. Uses textbook a lot. NEVER CORRECT HER. NEVER EVER EVER CORRECT HER. If she tells you the sky is green, you agree with her. If she likes you she can be very helpful.
Well at least she was easy..... took precal over the summer and ended up with over 100%. She wasnt that clear in lectures and she would mess up her own examples. She is really nice and gives extra credit. If you copy her examples and DO the homework its an easy A. Notes on test . I really couldnt understand her but looking at the notes i knew what to do. You might have to teach yourself tho, I learn precal in HS so I knew somewhat. I would recommend for summer because she is easy.
Feels as if she is reviewing for students who already have learned the material instead of teaching. She constantly makes mistakes and the students correct her. Follows book, but hand writes her own tests so it's hard to say you get a fair grade. She's very nice, but never answers phone, slow with email. Definitely will not take her class again.
Very aproachable and helpful. Always stops her lecture to answer questions, she would often show up a few minutes early to work on HW questions with students. All lecture examples are straight from the book. All HW is given the 1st day. Lots of extra credit. Exams are about 15 problems long, and are based more on the end of each chapter.
Took geometry with Enshai and I have to say that I would not recommend her. She is nice enough most of the time and gives a whole bunch of easy extra credit. The problem with her is that she does not teach well. Its like she is doing a review of the material. She can get very angry like some of the reviewers have said. Easy A, but bad experience.
A very nice lady, however not a stellar teacher. Don't get me wrong, she loves math and she's GOOD at math, she just doesn't communicate it well to her students. When there's a debate as to how to approach a problem, she becomes easily frustrated and doesn't explain things well. Won't take her again.
She is very smart but she is extremely unorganized, there is no real lecture she just does problems from the back of the book, she uses her own made up probs that are 30min long and don't relate. Calc over the summer is hard but she is very unclear and it feels like a review. She requires a graphing calc but then you cant use it on final???
She is a great lady. Very nice. She can get pretty moody though. She does not like teaching geometry and she made that pretty clear. She goes over stuff like we already know it. She wont start from the basics. Overall I would not take her again unless I had to because classes feel up fast.
Took her for Calculus. The subject itself is hard, but she is not a bad teacher. She knows the stuff inside and out and will go out of her way to answer your questions and explain things to you. The questions on her test are hard, but they are very similar to the homework problems. Lots of people got a good grade, and lots got a bad grade..
She is a hard grader. If you want to fail the class for sure take her.
not the best teacher.her grading is hard and doesn't not take her time to explain her steps in detail.i felt likei was being academically abused in her class..... pulled a c but it was alot of work.....
dont likee her 'cause she is super easy , but the grade is not clear.
Very easy teacher gives a lot of extra credit.
Great Professor gives lots of extra credit and doesn't ding you when homework is late
It's only a few weeks into class but I have to say she makes math fun. She's not your drab and dull professor - and works hard to engages students and goes out of her way to help students (such as myself who haven't taken a math course in 5+ years) get caught up on the material.
Tests not graded for weeks, so you won't know how you're doing until it's too late to drop. Also, the chapter 5 test was the day before the final, which repeated questions from Ch 5 without any kind of feedback from her. Don't ask questions because she occasionally blows up at students for having the temerity to ask a question. She's ridiculous.
I like the professor. She makes Math super easy
Worst teacher ever. She was no help when I couldn't understand and she had like one hour available as her office hours. And at her office she was no help. She doesn't teach what's in the homework and she's very unorganized. Horrible experience
I did really well in calculus in high school, but taking it at ARC was different. Prof. Enshai is unclear at times and love using trigonometry. If you're strong in your trig, I suggest taking her, but if you're not, she's probably not the teacher for you. She is willing to help you outside of class, which can be very useful.
She is a farely easy teacher, but her lectures are not consistent with the book or tests. She provides a ton of extra credit, but can be very moody and not want to answer questions. I would not recommend taking her if you had no previous experience in statistics
Her lectures have nothing to do with the test and the homework does not help with the test either. She is very enthusiastic but often snaps at people who ask questions or try to correct her because she often makes mistakes. Everyone had to teach themselves. Luckily we were able to use the book on the tests.
this class is not easy you basically have to teach yourself the notes and homework barley help w/ the test. she snaps all the time on people you never know what to expect and she is very unorganized.
A very detached instructor. Gets frustrated when asked questions regarding material and doesn't teach, she just reviews and spews out equations on the board as if we already know it. I'm not impressed.
Lectures have nothing to do with homework or the test. She is rude to students who ask questions and is very unorganized with how she teaches the class. Homework not due until after the tests, switching up due dates, moving onto new chapters before testing on previous chapters. I am not sure how this woman keeps her job!
This class was very challenging for me, not only because of the material but also because the professor is incompetent at transforming knowledge to her students.
Worst Professor Ever. Her "lecture" consisted of problems from a different textbook or her own made up problems. Homework and quizzes were relatively simple but the test did not resemble any of the class work. It is impossible to ask questions in this class without fear of her unhelpful and rude attitude yelling at you or kicking you out.
Dreadful. Absolutely dreadful. Yells at students for having the audacity to ask questions. Impatient and condescending. She'll blow up at you if you correct her mistakes, so don't bother. Just keep your head down, do the work and wait for the storm to pass. I'd suggest finding a different instructor, if at all possible.
Unprepared, unclear, doesn't like when students ask questions. No people skills, do not take her.
Doesn't like questions and is very unclear. Then for the final, she didn't show up for the last 2 weeks before the final and had material on there that she never taught. She also gave us a test a week before we were supposed to get it (according to her calendar) because she forgot what date she planned to give it to us.
Worst Professor Ever. Avoid taking her class! She doesn't ever like to answer questions, and she doesn't make sure you understand the section before moving on. She also teaches at a fast pace.
Doesn't like answering ?s, yelled or was condescending to those who ask ?s, not helpful during off hrs either, book/hmwrk/quizzes do not correlate, spent majority sems in tutoring & THEY had difficulty, most items on final weren't covered in class, Ea test cover 2chptrs but hmwrk 4 2nd ch due day of test & assigned prev class period so no feedback
Class started with 40 ppl. Ended with 8 ppl. Ppl were still dropping 3 wks before finals. She was more concerned w/the clock & getting through her lectures than if the class understood. She literally stared at the clock while talking. Even if we all had same ? if takes more than 5min explanation she rather say skip it or go 2 tutoring than explain
Final "review" had nothing to do with the final. She allowed formula sheets but tests used formulas there's no way you'd think to write down (and I was thorough). Homework is confusing and unrelated to the book or classwork. Gets angry when people ask questions. I had a 4.0 before this class (4 semesters in, including Honors classes.) She's awful.
I have never had such a horrible teacher. She is very unclear and pretty much awful at actually teaching. The homework and lectures have nothing to do with the test. Worksheets are not passed back so you have no idea how you're doing. She yells at you for asking questions which is ridiculous. 100% avoid taking this class. Complete waste.
Not helpful at all. She is often absent, refuses to answer certain questions, and gets angry easily. I recommend not to take her, unless you plan to teach yourself.
This is a Hybrid course, it takes the regular math classes and breaks them down into separate semesters, you work at your own pace and can do 2 classes in one semester if you get it. She is very helpful including available during her office hours. I love her calmness.
She misses class so much that from day to day you never know if she will be there. The only good thing about her missing is the substitutes are much better teachers than Enshai. I don't know how she keeps her job because if I did not show up for work I would be fired. This teacher is depressed and has some major issues. Avoid!!
Prof Enshai is awesome!! Calm & sweet. I studied hard but that's what a student must do to take accountability and pass the class. Listen up folks, if you go to class, study, & try, you will pass! I never liked math until I had professor Enshai. Rare to find a female math teacher too. I give her 5 stars!
