exams are hardest ever 30 multiple choice which are tricky, 9 hard ass short answers. lab is not so hard but hw is expected + obviously quiz every lab. If you have to take this prof. you better read the book multiple times cause you won't even have time to copy her slides down, and bring your phone to the class. At least she let you take the pic
Do yourself a favor never ever take this horrible Proffesor. Horrible grader, tests are extremely hard, monotoned, has no idea how to teach. And shows no respect to her students. You will end up dropping her class. Don't waste your time!! She is extremely boring and rude! She won't even give u a chance to talk to her. She will bash the other class!
This teacher is the worst biology teacher. She does not know how to teach and if you dont read the textbook you will fail her class. Other biology teachers are much better at least they give you slides and a lecture in class but she picks out the most detailed things from the book. Dropped the class because there was no way to pass
Professor Azure is there for her students whenever they need her. She takes time out of her schedule to tutor you if you ask her. If you need tutoring for one hour she will do that too! She also gives her students many chances to raise their grades. As long as you study, you will do great in her class!
She is a wonderful person and a good, caring teacher, BUT don't expect to get through her class w/o putting in the work. If you are determined and work for your grade, you CAN do well. I worked my butt off and got an A, but from talking with others, this is not the norm. She is available if you need help. I would take her again - you DO learn.
do not...I repeat doooooo nottt take this teacher!!!!!!!! Extremely hard!! I worked so much for this class but still ended up with a grade I did not expect especially after all the effort I put :((( Super hard teacher and exams are hard!!
If you take this teacher be ready to read a lot and be able to study on your own. No help what so ever and tests are extremely hard. Coming to class will not help but attendance is required. You have a chance of passing if you know the book from a-z ( be prepared to study a lot!)
She is an amazing professor. A lot quizzes yes, but they are very helpful because they keep you up to date. i really love how she is kind, helpful, honest and inspirational. Study and you will be fine!
She is very very tough. You might loose your confidence a bit in the beginning but if you go to her during office hours( WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND) she will clarify everything that was is foggy to you. Ask questions! Read! Don't even bother taking notes in class she goes through the slides like water. Read!! Her tests are comprehensive. Loved her!
Dr Faucette made bio 12 easy to accomplish. It was the short winter session and only 2 full days per week but her lectures were on point. A&P is not a "fun class" the work has to be put in the reading must be done and absences are out of the question. my only disappointment is that she is not going to be my nutrition teacher next semester.
This is an example of professors who shouldn't be in the business. Teaching is a job a motivational thing, she never has anything positive to say bad attitude about her in general, very unpleasant. Only reads slides, no access to power points, have to hand write power points down if you want them. Hard to understand the material with her.
Prof. Faucette was very accessible to the class. she's very passionate about the subject and it shows.
Wonderful person, but not good professor. Can u teach yourself? If u don't have amazing study skills, time to dedicate, and ability to grasp things on a complex level, u have no hope in doing well. What u receive in class is basic facts, further explanations only if u ask, and are expected to master it all come exam time. Good luck!
Faucette? I took her for a summer session and let me tell you. If you can handle stress and the pressure, go for it. But if you cant, dont take her. her tests are hard and she expects you to master the chapter in the few weeks span. she only answer questions if you ask.
Good, committed, consciencious teacher. Hard, but good sense of humor; she's "real". I liked her a lot, except on her couple grumpy days. Found her class harder than my Bio 11 teacher but I learned more, too. The "real-life cases" really get critical thinking going. Lectures are maybe TOO comprehensive, would benefit from more focus.
Took Professor Faucette and didn't know what to really expect from her at the beginning semester. But, she has become my favorite professor at Kbcc. She has a really funny and nerdy personality and made A&P II so fun but challenging. If you really want to ace her class, study the slides she gives and make sure to understand the concepts internally.
Don't tell you what's going be on test just teach
She doesn't know what she's teaching, she reads off the slides and throws a test at you and expects you to do good on it. If you want to pass you'll have to teach yourself do not take her!
I do not recommend anyone take her class. She contradicts herself giving you a false impression that she wants to help you pass and that she cares. She gets upset when you ask questions when trying to review for tests. Poor teaching and testing methods. Has poor attitude toward students.
Terrible professor, very immature and her teaching method sucks. She reads off the slides and expects your to memorize everything. Doesn't prepare you for the test and the tests are the hardest thing ever. If you want to get a good grade don't take her!
I took BIO12 with professor Faucette - it was not an easy class, but interesting. If you put work into it, do all the assignments, read before class - you will do fine. People were complaining a lot, but you can't sit night before the exam and ace BIO12. She also gives extra credit - which is great to boost the grade.
She is not a good professor, never attentive to students complain
She is great.
I absolutely loved this professor ! she was amazing and taught in a way that I actually understood. This was my third time repeating Anatomy and Physiology with two previous professors in which I failed both. If you are looking to actually learn and understand material I would strongly recommend professor Faucette and her charismatic attitude !
Do not take her! Quizzes are extremely hard you won't get a good grade even if you study very hard she is awful !
Bio 12 (A&P II) Excellent professor, always making jokes always funny. Very knowledgeable. VERY homework and quiz intensive. All slides are on blackboard. All exams are on blackboard too so take them on the weekend. Wont curve the exams but drops the lowest quiz and test and curves the lab practical. Youll also learn alot about black market Organs.
She told the class that no one should ever work in the allied health field, which I believe is unprofessional and discourteous. She also said that she got a C, so people shouldn't complain about the average score in the class being 50%. The average score should be seen as reflective of her teaching ability, she needs to help the students not hurt.
Her entire class, she just reads off her slides. It's easy to see why the average grade in the class is 50%. She needs to spend more time believing in the students and work hard to help them all pass. The average grades in her class is reflective on her inability to teach. She needs to prioritize active listening techniques.
Wrost teacher at KBCC Don't take her.
Extremely tough & rigid & isn't willing to help you inmorove your grade. She will not give you partial credit if you answer correctly just not in the exact way she wants, she doesn't upload the full PowerPoint notes (missing random slides) so you cannot study properly, & will quiz you on things you haven't learned yet to make sure your reading book
Not a good teacher. Her lectures don't match her exams. The only way to get an A in her class is if you have the ability to read her mind. Her test questions aren't clear. I went to her for help during office hours, but she kept going off topic and complained about how bad the class was doing rather than trying to help me do better.
this professor is just horrible, whatever you do do not take her class, she is an extremely tough grader, and her exams are very diffcult. She insists she wants to help you pass, but ends up not caring. if our answer was not what she was thinking in her exact words, it would be wrong.
Truth Pros: 1. she's really fun 2. knows how to explain 3. really resourceful 4. accessible outside class Cons: 1. TOUGH grader-- almost unfair 2. unclear on the grading criteria, you'll have to fail a quiz or two to figure out how her grading system works 3. you need to be ridiculously prepared (I'm talking reading new chapter before class)
bad news professor dont take her classes.
Students had issues with her but I loved her. Its bio so its bound to be tough. But she explains well, uses drawings, lets you record her, willing to work with you, funny, straightforward. Her questions are very tricky so you have to beware of that, but she gives a lot of extra credit(easy) and professional points. Do the work and you will pass.
Horribleeee. Very hard to know what exactly to study for tests. She'll test you on the most random part of her lectures. Need to know all the specifics when taking. Pretty confident everybody in my class failed. If she's the only professor available just wait until next semester. You'll regret it
Bio is obviously a challenging class but she makes it so interesting and enjoyable! The people who dislike the class are the ones who probably didnt prepare for class. I was scared to take this class because of the reviews but just do the homework and readings and youll do well. A wonderful, pleasant prof. I really liked this class
HOMEWORK AND A HANDOUT EVERY WEEK, TOUGH GRADER, PICKS THE MOST RANDOM PARTS OF LECTURE TO TEST ON. WILL ONLY HELP IF YOU FIT INTO HER SCHEDULE. WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD
the most terrible professor that I came across. removes points for everything, estimates not fair, terrible lectures, do not take this professor!
She is a nice person but the class was extremely hard and her grading was insane! Its impossible to get an A in her class and even when you think you did well,u didnt. I dont advise taking this professor for bio 13.
Professor Faucette is not an easy professor to work with, she expects to understand the material very thoroughly because she expects people to become nurses and doctors which is understandable. The grading criteria in her class is unfortunately a mystery since it depends on her perspective, take advantage of extra credit, Study for the exams a lot!
She's a very nice professor that will spend time to explain certain concepts if you need the extra help. Her lectures aren't the most interesting but she covers everything you need to know for the exams. She's not an easy A, so you'll have to work for your grade.
She's cool. I didn't want to take this class since she has such bad reviews, I also needed a good grade and thankfully I got one. You have to be very specific with your answers (as anyone going into the health field should) but She gives a lot of helpful Extra Credit. She answers all questions and gives review sheets. I've had worse, Take Her!!
Shame on those people on here who take her class, come on here and write bad reviews just because you were too lazy to open up a book, do the homework and really put effort into learning. She's super tough and I barely got an A, but if you really care about the material, she WILL HELP YOU. Also, she's FUNNY!!!!!!!!! Must take if you want EDUCATION!
I dont know she still is a professor and maintains her job, because the way she speaks to her students and teaches is unacceptable. Ask her something and get yelled at, very moody. Yes she teaches but in between always gets distracted and tells stories for hours instead of the material. Quizzes include material you didnt cover yet, be prepared.
Terrible
Run far awayyyyy. I never fail a class in this school until I took her class. Her class time was convenient for me but that caused me a set back. Do not take her class.
If I wanted to learn on my own, I would've taken on online class. She speaks in her lectures as if you already are fluent in the material. I get it, she's trying to prepare you for a career in the health field... that's fine, but teach the material first. If you want to pass you must read each chapter before class, on your own. Avoid at all costs.
This is by far the worst teacher I ever met. I absolutely do not recommend her in the slightest way. If you take her, I wish you the best of luck. You 100% will need it; see for yourself. Very disrespectful & if you get on her bad side RIP. Homework, quiz, & handout due every class. I cant explain how much work it is. & by far the worst lecturer
Don't take this professor ever. She talks like a radio with no sense, which you guys will be lost, she doesn't explains her lecture or Lab to understand and to make it easier. She has memorized all her stuff from Bio 12 and she doesn't deserve the status of professor. She doesn't care about you students.
Literally broke down at one of her labs because I couldn't understand and she didn't even try to help when asked. She tries to seem hip with students by comparing herself to us how she "failed back in the day". She makes you read lots of textbook stuff and you best damn memorize what she says and does or else you're screwed.
Worst professor in the history of mankind. If you see her as your professor for your class just withdraw instantly. She does not care about any student, she yaps all lecture long doesn't even make any sense, doesn't know all the material herself. I do not know how she didnt get fired yet from her job. Do not take this class.
Good attitude and a good person. She started the first TWO days of class talking about time management and how to fix your schedule because of this I felt like the class was way behind. She does try to explain in the best way she can but it is a tough class especially if you are taking her WRITING INTENSIVE class. All I can say left is GOOD LUCK!
this professor is the worst professor I have ever taken, She DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HER STUDENTS AT ALL, SHE TAKES POINTS OFF LITERALLY FOR NOTHING, SHE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO EXPLAIN AT ALL. SHE SITS AT HOME AND FINDS EVERY LITTLE THING THAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR PAPER..... DO NOT PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS
She SHOULD NOT be allowed to teach. Ask any other professor to take a look at her way of teaching. She doesn't know An&Ph at all! She just reads the slides and gives you tasks that are not related to lecture or material in the books. Her class and grade policy is a joke. I studied for her class 12-16h/d but she graded as she wanted with no explanat
The worst professor ever
Her lecture videos are confusing, she confuses herself. Her questions on her assignments are vague so if u don't answer like she was thinking in her brain, even if she did not specifically specify it in the question those are points off! Don't get me wrong I'm actually a good student I have gotten A's in Chemistry so DO NOT TAKE HER PLS, SAVE MONEY
1. Fails correct answers that do not match her exact wording 2. Takes 3 weeks to grade in a 6-week semester. No timely feedback 3. Labs, written responses - you lose points for mysterious reasons I could write more, but this site limits responses. No way to satisfy her, no extra credit/curving - impossible to get an A. Only if you can READ mind.
Her grading criteria is unclear, it depends on how she thinks it's right and the words she uses to explain. Must be able to read her thoughts for this class. I thought the bad reviews were from lazy people who want an easy A WOW was I wrong and I'm a good students. Never grades things in a timely matter, why give numerous assignments she wont grade
Does not give appropriate feedback, so you never know how to fix your mistakes. Her lectures are a mess, all I got from her videos where "umm umm oh wait sorry mistake" over and over again. Questions to her assignments are very vague, but t her they aren't even if multiple people have said otherwise. Do not take her, even if she is your last option
Just adding to what's said by others. Maybe it's a side-effect of sudden switch to online and she just did sloppy job of coming up with new questions, but labs and exams are full of questions that are either ambiguous, make no sense, or have contradicting clues. So despite your knowledge it comes down to just guessing what answer she expects to see
At first, I thought students were over exaggerating, but she's literally THE WORST! Her lectures were full of "umms" and very mono tone. She takes points off for EVERYTHING. I believe she doesn't want to see her students succeed. If you see her as ur prof. just drop, you'll save yourself the stress and you'll save your gpa
I spent so many hours studying & dedicating myself to her class, all to get an F. Thank god we have the credit/no credit option bc my gpa would have been destroyed! She is by far the worst prof. I have ever taken. Her lectures were so confusing & she timed her exams ridiculously & wanted a paragraph answer for most of the questions. DONT TAKE HER!!
Took her as an online class for summer course and I regret taking her. She assigned 14 page lab reports that were due the following day (very inconsiderate) she gave extra credit opportunity once for 2 points If something wasnt worded to her liking, she would take a chunk of points off. Avoid her class at all cost
Don't bother taking her and save yourself the regret. Believe the comments below. Her grading and exams will screw you over BIG TIME. Felt like she didn't care about her students. She was MIA the whole summer, unless you email her. Took me 4 weeks to get my assignments grades. If she is your last option, GOOD LUCK! ( you'll need it 10000%).
RUN!! RUN!! RUN!! don't take this class with her. She is a tough grader. You take this class with her, you will have anxiety. Teaching is not for her she will make a person want to give up. You can have the right answer but if you don't word it the way she wants O. The exams are tough.
Very hard and no learning community. Felt very unmotivated or engaged with my peers or professor. Confusing & frustrating!
She is literally the worst professor I've had so far. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HER. I have no idea why she is even allowed to teach.
don't take this class you will regret it. She said it her self a lot of person had failed her class her class. Run This profession is not for her. And she dont care about her students. If you take this class best be. Believe its going in the trash.... Even you give the correct answer but doesnt say it the way she wants you get a mark down or 0
This class under Prof Azure Faucette is CATASTROPHIC!!! I only wish I had dropped it the day I learned the bad reviews, they are accurate. The exams are at the level of grad-school intercellular bio-chemistry (with detailed description requiraments) while in the class she is teaching basic A&P. Even though I dropped the class, it caused me PTSD.
Very tough grader. Information from the test reviews wasn't always on the quizzes or exams. Would not advise taking her class.
dr. Faucette was my first professor in my college career in which I seriously thought she had my back, not only did she give the class numerous extra credit opportunities but the tests and quizzes were straight from the material given. Made me into anatomy again.
She is the worst professor , I have ever had. This is my second degree, I m pursuing at Kingsborough. Some people only need bio 12 for their major. We are not majoring in bio, She teaches bio on a Master's degree level.I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROFESSOR FOR BIO12.
Her teaching methods are great. Very clear and concise. As a student, you feel pushed to learn and try out new competencies. She is very thoughtful professor who puts a lot of thought into how she presents the material. She's also a total professional beyond being organized and punctual. I'm thrilled to have her class.
Read these reviews before taking the class and was terrified but honestly she really wasn't bad, she makes her grading criteria very clear from the start, and is more than willing to clarify anything you're confused about on tests/ lab reports. She's tough on grading but once you know what it is she's looking for it gets easier!
Professor Faucette was great! She is professional, her lectures are very entertaining, and she definitely knows her stuff and is passionate about science. If you actually want to learn, I recommend taking her, but you have to put in the work for a good grade. She is fair and gives lots of extra credit and chances for you to succeed in her class.
Dr. Faccette set clear expectations from day one. Skating through this class is not an option. She assigns homework for every lab and does a quiz every class based off the homework. Her exams are a mixture of multiple choice and fill in the blank. She is smart and funny but you won't be laughing if you don't put in the work.
This professor is extremely difficult I really would not recommend. None of these assignments have multiple choice so whoever said that was lying. Her instructions are not ALWAYS clear and she is very extensive with her material. I would NOT recommend this professor whatsoever.
-everyone would make the same mistake but only 2 ppl has an A everyone else has a 70 and below -said she didn't wanna be there -makes her quizzes extremely hard and doesn't focus on the major things you SHOULD know and study. she put minor things to throw you off to fail -attitude problems everyday -take off points for irrelevant reasons
She made a comment about being black and poor which made students feel VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. She goes off on a tangent every 5 minutes and is just not professional at all, if this is who kingsborough has representing them; this is NOT OKAY. Bio12 is hard enough but she genuinely makes it UNBEARABLE.
Focused on enforcing rigid rules than fostering a supportive learning environment. Makes rude comments can make class feel tense. Offers extra credit but deducts points for small mistakes. Grading feels overly harsh discouraging when minor errors significantly impact grades. I wouldn't recommend her unless you're ready to deal w/ added stress.
Oh god where to begin. Not enough characters. Professor literally said "I enjoy stressing my students" and "A student walked out on me last week" in lab one time. Why would you gloat about that? During extra credit, she made my lab partner cry for a stupid small reason AND IT WAS EXTRA CREDIT! Anyway, $1500 down the drain. I'd rate -5 if I could.
Yes this class was difficult, but here's everything you should know before taking it: there's a LOT of extra credit ranging from pop quizzes to group work in lab- this will only HELP your grade. You will be reading around 40-100 or more pages a week (modules). Doing the lab homework is OPTIONAL, but it helps! Lowest quiz/test grades are taken down.
LISTEN, IF YOU WANT TO DEVELOP MAJOR ANXIETY, TOLERATE DISRESPECT, BEING SPOKEN DOWN ON AND DEAL WITH AN ATTITUDE EVERY SINGLE DAY FROM A CLASS THAT YOU SPENT YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY + TIME ON.. THEN TAKE HER!!! IF NOT, DROP NOW!! MY ENTIRE CLASS DID TERRIBLE, BECAUSE SHE DOES NOT TEACH IN LECTURE AND BARELY IN LAB. THE MATERIAL IS NEVER ON EXAMS!!!
tbh by the end of the term I was disappointed with how grading was handled. trying to understand how she grades is very confusing. If you're sure you want to take her, I would suggest attending during regular session rather than the winter session. This teacher can be difficult to work with, half of my class dropped before the 3rd exam.
I took this class during a winter semester so it was even more intense. However, I think this professor is extremely clear on how you are graded. She was very generous with the extra credits from pop quizzes to lab assignments. Overall, if you did the work by doing review sheets and watching videos and taking notes, you should be fine.
A lot of chapters cover a very short period, making it difficult. I enjoyed the class with the professor, who encouraged the students who did not do well (myself)after the exam to try hard next time. Extra credit given, exam and quiz lower grade dropped. Making a joke here and there made 3 hours of labs go faster and a little more enjoyable.
Very sarcastic to students who didn't always get the material you would think if you're there to LEARN the professor will TEACH you But no,she reads off the slides. You can do that at home emphasizes things she knows are important, gets an attitude when you don't get it right No one wants to go somewhere to better themselves and deal with that b.s.
She makes college harder than it needs to be. She openly shares her hardships and seems to take them out on students. Grading is harsh, quizzes are rushed, and exams focus on minor details. Emails are met with rude responses. No extra credit. As an A student, I got my first B because of her. Avoid her class if you can—she adds unnecessary stress.
Listen good. Run far away. She is very rude and takes points off for everything. Anyone who gave her good reviews are not being honest…they might not even be students. She's not funny, not helpful and not willing to help. She is a complete disappointment to my grades. All A's except her. Her labs and quiz and exam materials don't match at all. Run!
By far the worst professor I have ever come in contact with. She will tell other students your personal business. She has been reported twice (that I am aware of) and the department has done nothing. She hates all students, if she gets asked a question she gets angry and has an attitude ALL the time. Forget teaching, she only reads her lectures.
this class is very challenging. the professor is extremely strict with grading even if your answers are correct, you can lose points if you're not worded exactly the way she expects. you have to watch a lot of long videos to answer lab assignments, and if you miss small details or add anything extra, points will be taken off.
BE READY TO SPEND A LOT OF TIME STUDYING. Prof. Faucette is a really funny and knowledgeable prof that you will not be bored in class. She also gives lots of extra credits (but you need to study for them!) This class is definitely not an “easy A” class, you need to work really hard to get it. Tips for this class: read and do all study questions!
Just horrible, rude, cruel, boring, no sympathy, she wants you to fail. She is not interested in your success. This person is not happy in their life and takes it out on students . Horrible teaching, constant attitude, doesn't reply to emails. Just despicable.
Very discouraging teaching style. Grading felt unfair and asking questions often led to annoyed or dismissive responses, which made it hard to learn or seek help. The class environment was more shaming than supportive, especially for a difficult subject like A&P.
Get ready to study a lot. Fair! If you study you will get your A!!!
Very fair. Read and document everything she gives you. Utilize her lecture vids on top of what is given to you in class.
