1st professor I've ever had that they were my motivation for going. Time flies in class. Super nice, fun, & willing to help. Tests are tough but you only have 2 or 3 besides the final, they come from your notes, didn't open my book once. Makes class interesting. HIGHLY recommended. Take good notes and you'll be fine. Gives extra credit. She's great
I absolutely loved going to her class. She is very sweet and funny and makes lectures interesting. She is very easy to talk to and respectful of different opinions. I would definitely take it again. She gives a few opportunities for extra credit and there are 4 tests and 2 writing assignments, but no homework or boring lectures.
She was an AWESOME teacher. I loved going to her class, she always made it fun and enjoyable. I didn't think her tests were as hard as people said they were just take good notes and study them well and you will do just fine. Assigns a paper and 3 smaller paper assignments and they were fairly easy. Shes a decent grader, follow rubric youll be fine
she was honestly one of the best professors i could have asked for. she genuinely loves teaching us and she was very good at it. looked forward to class everyday. A+++
Dr. Thill is amazing! She cares about her students. We never had homework, aside from the two papers you write and to study for the four exams. She is very fun to have as a professor.
Dr. Thill is awesome! She's very sweet and easy-going.
I absolutely love Dr. Thill! She's amazing, intelligent, sweet, and very helpful! She makes class fun, though her tests are tough. You really have to study for them! We had two paper assignments, quizzes, homework (You do need the textbook!), and two tests plus the final. The class is no walk in the park, but take her and you won't regret it!
I love Professor Thill. She is funny and energetic, especially for our 9 A.M. class. Her lectures are great but fast. Make sure you read the book and take notes because the test are challenging but nothing you can't handle. We had 3 papers to right but she is there for feedback before you turn them in. She cares about her students genuinely.
This teacher is one of the best! Her lectures keep your interest, and she teaches in a way that makes it easy to understand. Her tests are difficult, but she gives you every opportunity to succeed. I would recommend her class to anyone taking psychology. She is amazing at her job.
Dr. Thill is probably the most positive and enthusiastic teacher at CoD. Her lectures are for the most part not boring at all and she is always in a good mood. She is a harder grader when it comes to the essays. Tests are pretty difficult and take a little time to prepare for.
This is probably one of the best teachers I have ever had for any class I have ever taken. I wish every teacher was like her. She makes her class very interesting and she is such a caring and funny person. She talks with students on a personal level and is really down to earth and easy to get along with. Highly recommend!!
Dr. Thill is probably my favorite professor of all time. This is my second class with her. She lectures everyday, but she always makes the lectures interesting. She is super outgoing, funny, and truly cares about her students! Highly recommend. My class is only graded on 4 exams and 2 paper assignments.
Please don't take this professor, quiz the first 3 minutes of class! She grades like it's a 400 level class course. Does not let you revise or make corrections. No late or make up work. Lots of pop quizzes
Such a sweet person and makes her self VERY available to help you with ANYTHING outside of class. She has lots of good resources if your looking to get into grad school. A few exams, two writing assignments, and three or four super easy extra credit assignments. Definitely recommend her!!
I took Professor Thill for my Educational Psychology course. It is a difficult class if you make it difficult for yourself. If you pay attention(which its hard not to when she is your teacher), participate in class, and do the assigned work, you can very easily get an A-B in this class. Very Caring. Very considerate. Would take again ABSOLUTELY.
Was not a fan of her teaching style. She doesn't really offer extra credit and if your grade is tanking you're basically out of luck. Tests are all multiple choice. She's a tough grader too. Even though she's a nice person, I needed a teacher and she was not willing to help me. She made a psychology class harder then it needed to be.
Prof. Thill is very nice, caring and non-judgmental. Our class had so much fun and we learned a lot, I am much more knowledgeable after completing this class. Tests are hard but if you study you will be just fine, lots of extra credit and a few other projects. She explains everything thoroughly and you don't need to worry about being confused.
We had quizzes every day at the beginning of class, but she gave us the questions the week before. Easy points! Make sure you write out the answers because sometimes she would let us have open notes quizzes. Memorize the lecture notes and use the quizzes to study and the tests are not too bad.
I've taken Dr. Thill twice now and she is such an amazing professor! She is very cheerful and can brighten anyone's day. She makes lectures hilarious and intriguing. She's super sweet and is always there to help! In the class, there is only 4 exams and a couple paper assignments.
Dr. Thill is a great teacher. Her lectures are interesting and there's no outside homework besides the Service Learning project, which was a little tough to get done. The project was a volunteer project done outside of class but there were so many components to it. Overall this is a great course and I would recommend taking Dr. Thill's class.
Wonderful professor. Knows how to keep a class on their toes when giving a lecture. Has awesome stories to tell and is always happy. She is tenured and really knows her research. No outside homework, only 3 tests, and a service learning project. Very passionate but a tough grader. 2 long papers to type but she offers EC at the end of the course.
I took her hybrid psych class and although she was extremely nice her grading was not pretty! We had four exams, two papers and one stats guide that she grades very harshly. I am no expert or whiz in math and then to put numbers in writing and a statistical style was even worse. homework was mandatory to get in class but no credit or points given
I really struggle with math, but I just earned a B her class! Her lectures are on video so I was able to do them at my own pace, which made a huge difference. You do need to take good notes on the lectures because her exams are on concepts and calculations. Don't wait until the end of to start that dang statistics guide - it helps but lots of time.
Had to do volunteer work for this class and it changed my life! I didn't know what service learning was before this class, and now I wish all classes had this option. I learned so much about psych and myself. Dr. Thill is amazing! You will not want to miss class, it is so fun & you learn soooo much. Can't wait to take more classes with her!
Not a psych major, but may be the most important class i could take. Learned so much info that I will actually use as a parent one day. Class is super fun, and test are not hard if you study the lecture notes.
Dr. Thill is absolutely wonderful! Lectures are very engaging and she does everything in her power to help you through the class. Make sure you really understand the material however, because her quizzes and exams are very applied. Overall if you are taking General Psychology make sure you sign up for Dr. Thill's class!!
Professor Thill is super nice and loves what she does. This class was so interesting and fun to learn about. Classes consist of lectures and are easy to follow along with. Take your notes and you will do well on tests. She does give a few extra credit opportunities. There is one project and a few journals to write.
She is an amazing professor. It's obvious that she loves what she does. She makes you want to learn about psychology. Only down side is a service learning project. I believe that schools shouldn't force this since many people work and it is hard to work around. Overall though if you want to really understand psychology then 100% take her!
She is my fave teacher. She cares, knows her stuff and makes class really fun and memorable. She gives a few questions for while you do the readings and then gives mini quizzes based on those questions for extra credit. These quizzes also help you with stuff on the test. She sets everyone up to succeed and is a great person besides.
Thill is so so so funny. She makes lectures fly by and tells the funniest stories. She knows her stuff about psychology but doesn't make us feel stupid when teaching. This class includes a service learning project which I thought shouldn't be mandatory but I love it. I wish more classes offered this project.
Mrs. Thill is awesome! She's good at what she teaches and keeps it interesting. You'll love her.
Professor Thill was the most amazing professor I ever had! No other professor has made such an impact but she is so funny & really does connect the material from class to every day scenarios. She is always in a great mood & is very approachable. You will never feel dumb for asking any questions & if you show up & review your notes you WILL pass!!
She gives interesting lectures but doesnt go over the information enough. Most of class time is spent with her and the class sharing stories. Never taught us enough to get good grades on tests or assignments. There are quizzes every day. The tests and assignments are all very long and difficult and she is a very tough grader. Take someone else.
Thill is my all-time favorite teacher. She is very funny and personable in class. She makes her lectures as funny as she can and also tells really good stories. She had us do a project where we had to volunteer, lots of fun, but we had a 10 page paper to write on it afterwards.
Dr. Thill is the best college professor I have ever taken. She takes her time to get to know her students and build connections with them. She loves the subject she teaches and makes sure everyone knows how to apply terms to real world situations. As long as you show up, engage in class, and read the textbook then you will get a good grade.
Loved her class, 4 exams no midterm or final. All tests are noncumulative. An amazing teacher. You do have to write a classroom management plan paper that was the most time consuming and difficult part of the class. Gives great feedback. There is a 5-minute quiz at the beginning of every class period, based off textbook reading assigned. Take her!
I enjoyed the class, however she is a really tough grader on tests and really punctual about how you word your answers and if it isn't exactly how she wants it, which isn't always very clear, she won't accept the answer. Calculations were basic algebra for the most part so the math is very easy. The hard part is how you word your answer.
Shes very funny in her lecture and gets students engaged as well as caring. TAKE HER! you will get a good grade as long as you participate
She is the best professor I ever had. She made class so much fun and I was excited to go to class. She made the class fun for us and we all had such a good time getting to know one another. She is an amazing professor, I highly recommend taking her classes!!
Uses recorded lectures to make learning the material much easier. You do homework in class and the test problems are just like the homework.
She is so sweet and makes lectures really enjoyable/easy to digest. I loved coming to her class - it's hard to find a teacher with a great personality AND great teaching skills, but she is one of them.
Easy points that you get by just doing what is expected. Exams are so easy that you dont even really need to study to do well. Final is the easiest Exam out of them all. The teacher responds back fast to the students and she really cares about you as if you were her own. I would take again asap for another class.
Dr. Thill is the best psych teacher Ive had at College of Dupage so far. Even though shes a hard grader Dr. thill does her best so that everyone understands the lectures. She has a ton of experience in this field and you can tell. She has made all her lectures so she knows everything like the back of her hand. 100% would recommend taking her.
There aren't that many professors that get to know every one of their students. Dr. Thill really provides a safe space for everyone to ask questions and contribute, and she provides excellent feedback on exams. Everything in her lectures has real life applications. Not to mention, she's so supportive and an amazing listener.
Professor Thill deserves an F grade for that reason is because during the COVID-19 she gave 4 quizzes every week tests without notes hard deadlines. She is not caring and gives excuses to work with students. Her exams require book smart not note smart. She also takes forever to respond an email. I would not take her if you want to get an B.
One of the best teachers I have ever had! She understands math is not easy for everyone and gives you many resources to be successful. If you keep up with the work you'll be fine. Lectures are pre-recorded, in class you do more practice and can ask questions. gives some extra credit. Super caring, personal, and respectful of students. great prof!
great teacher. seriously take her! very clear grading criteria, 3 questions quizzes each day, need to listen to lecture and take notes. she is a great lecturer who really breaks everything down so you can understand concepts. gives extra credit, will take her for next psych class, because enjoyed class so much. smart, caring, great prof!!
Honestly I couldn't do math if I my life depended on it. But Professor Thill was very understanding and helpful. She is a genuinely caring person who only seeks to help her students. Her class was one of the most difficult I have ever taken at college, but she was worth having as a professor.
you are expected to learn and teach yourself the material in this class, I would have not passed without the TA/tutor, a majority of class time is for working on homework in groups, the few grades are from tests, you have to make your own study guides for the test and final, I personally found the teachings condescending and sometimes belittling
Dr. Thill is by far the best teacher I have ever had for a psychology class. She was persistent and very kind. She took time away from her own schedule to help me out when I was struggling. Every question I had was answered and she emailed me back instantaneously!!! Absolutely loved every time I went to class, I enjoyed every second of it!!!!!!
LITERALLY BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!! Everyone take her!!! I love her so much!!
Currently taking her class & though she does zoom calls, she doesnt teach the lectures that way. I signed up for a VCM course where the professors teaches you the material in front of you but with her prepare to teach yourself. She pre records the lectures and has us watching it prior to the zoom which is frustrating since this is not what I sign
Prepare to teach yourself the material, on zoom calls she does not teach us at all but rather share stories and puts us out into breakout rooms to do homework with peers. She never stays back to make sure we all understood the material she assumes we understood it and carries on, does not seem to be interested in students just a way to pass time.
professor thill is everything but understanding- she is one of the most tough graders i know, no ec and grading is based on tests so there is no way you can bring up your grade. vcm class but you teach yourself the material almost always and chatters about other things. wish i knew this before, if you can i recommend professor underwood.
Dr Thill is the best! She does teach (hello, video lectures + 1hr of VCM) & gives extra credit (25pts) Always met on zoom when I needed her (even at night) Really went out of her way to support us and made math easier Had her for ed psy to Luv her!
professor thill does not give ec at all and if so its not for all her classes. she does not care about her students as much as she says she does, she doesnt provide feedback and is at most the least understanding professor ive had at this college. you teach yourself the lectures while on zoom she chatters about other things. save your money.
the professor may be a great teacher in person but online? forget it. she is an extremely tough grader for the most part, homework was mandatory to get in class but no credit or points given and majority of her grading is based on exams so if you fail the exam you basically fail the class. no extra credit opportunity at all which is frustrating.
Very lecture heavy. Ive taken many psych class before but none is like this, everything is based on her recordings from years ago which is invalid.. not to mention she is a very tough grader, she wants things to be worded her way and if not it is automatically wrong.
Very lecture heavy. recordings are 1-2 hr long and expect you to finish the homework after all that. give us a break, 1-2 hr of talking and taking in information is too much.
Dr. Thill is amazing, she's always ready to help. she gives a lot of extra credit, she even gave EC for meeting up individually with her to get feedback. she gives great feedback on assignments. she is so helpful, she would actually take time out of her own schedule to help you. you only need to take good notes, finish work on time, do EC.
Absolutely my favorite professor I've had, hands down. Completely understanding and genuinely cares about her students and teaching in itself. She strived to make the class interesting and does not believe in busy work. Each assignment had meaning and she is an absolute must if you're going into teaching or planning on working with kids in general.
Dr. Thill is one of the best professors I have had at COD. She explains her content well, so I know what concepts will be on the test. I can ask her questions individually with ease. She actually plays music before class and while we're working; she is so personable and hilarious, I actually look forward to days I have her class!
She was the best Professor I have had so far. The class is challenging but she does everything she can to be able to help you.
Most organized online class Ive taken. Lots of structure and clear expectations. Weekly quizzes but you can just copy your answers from your notes, three exams, and two easy papers. Lectures are recorded, but strangely entertaining. I can literally fail the final and still get an A. Hope to take a campus class with her.
I don't recommend taking this class online. It so long. Lectures are about 65 to 95 mins. You need to take notes of EVERYTHING that's listed. 37 quizzes you need to study for. There is also 3 tests and some EC. I wouldn't take this class again because she is TOUGH on grading EVERYTHING. If it's not worded her way beware its wrong.
this class is ok. would i take it again? no
This class is a lot of work. You really need to put the time in to even get a B or A. For online, a lot of long lectures. Although, if you take killer notes, you'll be fine. Thill is rlly nice, tho. She responded to my emails, and helped me out a lot. Only take this class if you LOVE psych, or want to put 100% of your time into school.
Transfer psychology student here. Took Thill several semesters ago. Got an A but didnt think much about it. Taking a methods right now and am so far ahead of the other students the prof asked me to be his research assistant. Wish I appreciated how helpful this class was at the time. Pretty easy A, but you will learn a lot more than you think.
I love Dr. Thill! She is so friendly and personable, and is passionate about psychology. There's 1-3 small pop quizzes at the beginning of class on the readings that are assigned over the weekend. There are three exams in her class ( the third being the final exam). The exams are quite difficult, but as long as you study, you'll be good!
As a former student of hers, now a psychology transfer student, I cannot say more great things about Dr. Thill. Her classes are very lecture heavy but she is so nice and sociable it's hard not to listen. She is the very reason why I am a psychology major today and I am very grateful I decided to take her for my General Psychology course.
By far one of my favorite professors! You definitely have to put in a good amount of work into the class if you want to succeed, but Dr. Thill makes it as understandable as possible. Her online lectures could be long at times but I promise she makes them bearable. Class was also engaging and you could tell she truly cares about her students.
Doctor Thill is the best professor I have ever had!!! Her lectures are very stimulating & she is hilarious!!! She covers the material so well and gives many simple as well as complex examples so that her students fully understand the material. She responds to emails quickly & truly cares about her students. Participate in lecture & you will do well
Dr. Thill is seriously the best professor I've ever had!! She is so funny and really cares about her students! Lectures are lots of fun, and she gives great examples to help understand the material. As long as you go to lectures and pay attention, you'll be perfectly fine! If you ever get the chance to take her, take her! She is seriously amazing!
dr.thill is an amazing professor, she truly cares about her students success and wellbeing in her class. she gives tons of extra credit opportunities, the chunk of your grade is exams and daily quiz grades. her lectures are short and easy to follow, overall great class and would take her other classes too!
She's is a great teacher, she makes ways for students to get better grades in her classes by dropping certain quizzes and such, along with giving a lot of extra credit. To get an A in this class all you have to do is read the psychology book once every night. She has a short 3-5 question quiz every day that helps boost your grade. COME TO CLASS
Dr. Thill is the best! There will be 3 things you are graded on - tests, papers, and random attendance. She provides examples of the questions that will be asked before each test, gives very detailed explanations for the papers (and they are not boring topics), and attendance is random. Attend every class and take good notes and you will do great!
I absolutely loved taking Psychology with Professor Thill! This was my third time taking Psych, but my first time enjoying it. She is a very great professor and she makes learning fun. She is also a very kind person. 1000% recommend her!
Professor Thill is an amazing professor. Her lectures are fun and she gives lots of examples. As long as you pay attention in class and take notes, you will be successful on they exams. Her exams are very application heavy. The hardest part of the course is the Classroom Management Plan Paper. Overall would recommend :)
By far my favorite professor! She is so sweet and funny, and keeps her lectures entertaining. I would highly recommend her to anyone that needs to take psychology or any of the other classes she teaches. I'm bummed that I don't have time to take more of her classes. Be sure to spend a lot of time studying because her tests are very applied!! 10/10
I loved taking Professor Thills Developmental Psych. She is interactive with her students & she cares for them and their outside lives as well. Her tests are straight from her lecture so you need to be an active listener and take notes. The papers take some time but aren't too hard. She welcomes you to office hours and is always there if you need!
For General Psych she has you read the textbook to learn information that may not be covered in class you answer five questions for the guided reading and there are 2-3 question quizzes everyday at the beginning of class it helps you do better on the exams if you actually do it
Dr.Thill is amazing! I took her for Educational Psychology and she loves teaching with a passion. Something very important to know only 3 exams and one paper which is a Classroom Management Paper. Her lectures and note taking is also fair game for the exams. Every come in and take a quiz from textbook. I would most definitely take her again!!
2 summaries throughout the semester, drops the lowest test & quiz grade. Almost daily quizzes based on assigned reading. From time to time, she did make the quizzes double points and/or open note. On the tests she likes to have applied multiple choice questions so make sure you study examples rather than the actual term.
She is so funny and caring. She tells you exactly what she wants and exams are based off of lectures, so take good notes. Has daily quizzes, but you get the questions before. Papers are easy. Would take again!
Professor thill was okay. She is pretty clear about what she wants. I did enjoy her class. The only thing I couldn't stand was the 5 min quizzes. Many of them you had to type out answers & like you can't type quickly to answer the 3 questions then you will get 0 points. Overtime they add up so just make sure you are always prepared!
Dr.Thill was an absolutely amazing professor. One of the few classes that I enjoyed going to and really felt like I learned so much from. Really funny and so nice. The class isn't exactly easy but as long as you're there and take good notes you can easily achieve an A. Really glad I took her class and bummed I won't have her next semester.
She's an amazing teacher. You have to come to class in order to do well on the lectures. The tests are mainly about what she goes through in class. Her lectures are interesting and she tries her best to engage with students.
Best professor so far. Online lectures, then homework in class. I personally didn't need to show up because I understood the concepts pretty well, only really came for the 3 tests and the final. Explained everything perfectly. If you needed help, you would just show up to class and practice and ask questions. Such a great experience.
She's a wonderful teacher. Explains the topics very articulately. Loved how her lecture videos were not too long or short. There were two essay assignments which are easy to do, except make sure that you really revise over incorporating every detail. Her feedback is very details and shows that she cares about improvement, and not just criticizing.
Good experience overall. You have daily quizzes, but get the questions beforehand. Don't read the whole textbook. Only find the answers to the questions to save time. Goes the extra length to make sure you know how to bump your grade up. Exams are very application-based, so make sure to listen when she gives examples; it'll help you. Recommend :)
AMAZING Teacher!!! I would take every class with her if I could! There are a lot of quizzes based on the readings, but she does a good job with guiding you in the right direction. Responds to emails very quickly and truly cares about students! 10/10
I absolutely loved her class! She's so sweet and hilarious in class! She gives enough extra credit to
