He teaches like a college professor. Lectures a lot, attendance required, tests are totally hard. I really didn't like the class.
very educated on topics, great travel stories. tests aren't easy, but info is presented well to study from. very sweet, helpful old man.
One of the best teachers i have ever had....
HARD CLASS! all this guy does is lecture! sure, the lectures were well organized, and he's a great storyteller, but there was just too much information. AND, the tests were hard. all scantron, but totally confusing. i failed this class.
Lecture outlines are in his book. He lectures all the time so you have to go to class even though he can get boring. Grade based on 3 tests (non-cumulative). Just go to class and take good notes and you should get a C.
Pure lectures. Boring. Attenance is a must. Got a B.
awesome teacher. has monotone voice and tests might be a bit hard but he gives everything to you on a silver platter. knows his stuff and is a great person.
Lectures are very entertaining . . . usually. Tests aren't that hard as long as you listen to every lecture.
Understandable
So cute!!! He is very funny and just a cute man! I had so much fun in this class, and he is really funny. I recommend him.. He is just way awesome!
Study for the test everything comes from his notes. He really knows his material and is very helpful. He makes sure you never leave with a question.
He is passionate about the subject, but it is a little bit demanding for a general edu. course. Information is strictly from lecture so attendance is crucial. Always willing to help and again, is passionate about the subject.
Prof. Hardy is a good teacher. However, if you do not like history in general...this may be too detailed of a class for you. His lectures are very detailed and so are the exams. However, he does offer to answer any questions that you would have so that is a plus.
He is a very helpfull teacher. He uses his own book, the outline for the lectures is in the book so it is easy to follow what he is talking about. He will answer any questions you have and wants to help you do well.
Easy to understand but the tests were extremely hard. Make sure to read and review the study guides he gives out. Don't even need the real book for the class.
Prof hardy reminds me of mr howlel from gilligans island - which is a good thing :D he is intelligent and know his history! And even more amusing is his attempts at hummor that makes him rattle his chin LOL so funny :D a good teacher even with his slightly
must go to class to get the info for the midterms, thats were he gets alllll the questions. dont really need his book, it is a waste of money. i almost always fall asleep in class, but there is no homework or final. id reccommend it for an easy class, if u study for the 3 midterms, yr fine.... and he grades on a curve!

absolutely loved the class! i'm not a history major but i looked forward to going to his class every time. it's like watching the history channel! and you can ask him anything and he will answer it. the tests are pretty easy, but a few questions will come up that will keep you torn. TAKE HIM!!
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! I would be looking forward to class everyday. so interesting!! take this professor!!!
expect to take alot of notes and come to class everyday. if you miss a day, you could possibly miss 5 questions on the exam. be prepare to listen, take a lot of notes, and write fast. 50 multiple choice questions and curves when is needed
this guy rock, make sure you take his class and absolutely you must buy the book, it is important to come to class and drag down notes he is an excellent professor everyone love him. I got an B in his class for not paying any attention. I recommend all yoo all mofo take this professor he will be your guildance light
oh lord, professor hardy is the man in town, he had a very strong background in history and really knows his materials. i love this teacher and looking forward to have him again. study hard in college and don't slack off, it will make a big difference lolz
Love him and the class. the class was really easy if you follow the book and take alot of notes. he knew what he was talking about and backed it up with stories from his travels. Take the class!!!!!
Professor Hardy is amazing! I really hate history, but I really enjoyed his class. I would strongly recommend to not miss any lectures(SERIOUSLY) or to get notes from a really good note-taker because notes are crucial to the tests. Just go to class, look at the outline and take good notes and you should get an A. TAKE him, you won't regret it!
sooooooooo many notes, ahhh it sux
This guy is the cutest old man i have ever seen! he show such a passion when he teaches and his class is amazing. Its kinda like sitting in storytime in kindergarden. I love this class. He lookes like a cartoon, but so adorable. he has been teaching for 47 years, hes gotta be like 78 years old. take hin, youll love it!!!!
Dr. Hardy is a better-than-average lecturer; I rarely lost interest during class. He has high academic standards, but he presents his material in a clear and concise way. Listen carefully, take complete notes, do the reading assignments, and you'll succeed.
He is the best!! There was never a boring lecture and he is totally there to help you succeed. After getting a C on the first exam I went and talked with him at his office hours and he really motivated me, and helped me a lot, and on the second exam i got an A. He is such a nice man, and i am really going to miss having him. You will enjoy it!!
these people are on crack, he is the worst teacher ever...he reads the outline and explains a few things. His exam questions are random and he does not give out study guides. You have to know absolutely everthing. Lectures were extremely boring, hard to go to class.
Nicest teacher ever! You can tell that he is extremely passionate about history which makes the class more interesting. He really wants you to succeed and gives really encouraging speeches! Go to class everyday cause all the test questions come from the lectures which are outlined in great detail. Tests are curved. Take this class!
Very Easy! Great guy. Extremly intelligent, knows everything about history. Just show progress in the class and youll get an A. Test are somewhat difficult. Take good notes and you will do great.
Hardy is a great guy. He's really nice, really funny, and extremely thorough. The class was extremely easy, it's just lectures and a few tests. He gives random short answer quizes that are basically extra credit. I had a great time in the class and laughed a whole lot.
He is such an awesome, understanding teacher. you would think he looks bitter and mean. but he is truely a nice guy and will do his best to help you learn the material. He keeps you interested and is very intellectual. i loved his class.
He is so passionate about the subject and you can tell that he really wants you to do well. I got a C on my first exam then talked to him and he gave me some really great pointers. I ended up with an A in the class. You must come to class because the exams are based on the lectures. I wish he taught all the history classes I need to take!!
Hardy is a great history teacher, very passionate and knows just about everything. If you need help, he's very nice about it. He doesn't take attendance, but you have to be there to take notes!! As long as you keep up with it and study, it's not such a hard class. Only 3 tests and 3 mini-essays, so make the most of those points.
Great professor! He is very passionate about the subject. You need to take a lot of notes. You need to attend every class! He uses a book he co-authored which is just outlines and stories. You NEED the lectures to fill in the holes. Only 3 exams, and 3 short essay questions in class. Re-read last lecture before class. The essays are random.
I didn't enjoy it at first. I did really poorly on the first exam and all the pop-writing assignments. Take REALLY GOOD NOTES. You're gonna need them since there are no study guides. He gives good lectures and seriously cares for everyone to do well. Know your material because you will be asked to do random writing assignments.
B.C Hardy's the mayne....he's a legitament, passionate teacher
He's a really nice guy but I feel like his tests are extremely hard. If you are not good with memorizing years I wouldn't recommend taking him. There are no study guides which makes things pretty difficult. He gives pop essays where he will ask questions for review. He also quizzes three random students every class so attendence is important.
He was such a great engaging professor. He definitely knows his history and reminds me of an older Indiana Jones. He's like the kewlest guy of all time, and a really cute old man. I wish he'd adopt me as his granddaughter. I just love him to death and really want to take him again for 110B.
He was a good teacher and new exactly what he was talking about. His tests are insanely hard. There is no study guides and you have to know EVERY single bit of information he says in his lectures...and then some. He tests you on 6 or 7 lectures at once and it is a lot of information to know for the test. He's nice, but tests are too hard.
Hardy is a wonderful professor! He makes a subject really interesting. There are 3 tests that you do have to study for because they can be a little challenging, but if you pay attention in class and take good notes you'll do fine There are also 3 one page written in class essays that are super easy. no hw. GREAT CLASS TAKE IT!
Such a nice guy... seriously. He is very understanding BUT is by far one of the most difficult classes I have ever had to take and I love love love history. For a GE, this class was WAY TOO HARD.
Such a cute old guy! He tells interesting stories and has been to a lot of places that relate to the lectures. He really trys to relate to the students!
Is a very fun and interesting teacher. Very hard, he only does lectures and that is it. He is a super nice guy and knows his stuff. It was is 100th semester this year. He wants you to pass and will help you if you ask. The couple essay quizzes are easy but the tests are super hard.
Hardy is a very informative, passionate teacher who loves to see his students succeed. Read the book, take good notes and study them, and you will do just fine in his class. His tests are hard, and require a lot of studying; but he is extremely helpful. His stories and experiences make this seemingly boring subject interesting!
Very passionate about teaching and about history. Seems to have all details memorized in his head. VERY hard class, but you will pass if you study. BUY the textbook, it has all of the notes he uses in the course. Pay attention and take good notes. 2 tests 1 final 3 in class essays. hard class but great professor!
Professor is such a cute old man who is extremely passionate about history. Because he is very knowledgeable it makes it quite a difficult class, but go to every class, take GOOD notes and you can at least get a B.
Take VERY detailed notes and at the same time have a recorder. There will be some infos that you would miss because sometimes the lecture is in story form. Listen to the lecture as much as you can, IT HELPs!! this is wut i did for final, i basically had every lecture memorized
reeeeallly boring. its just lectures .
He's a very sweet man and knowledgeable in history. He is so passionate about it that it engages you! His tests are tough though. They're all based on his lecture notes, so make sure to take very good notes. He really wants to see his students succeed and it means a lot. It'll motivate you. I really enjoyed his class. Take him!
really nice teacher, but class is wayyyy to hard for a history GE class. There are only three test and a paper. He grades the paper on how well you wrote not on the information, this isnt English class...anyways three tests, which are extremely hard even with the notes.i probly will not pass this class
Honestly, I am failing this class. I fall asleep in it all the time. He's a cute old man & he really cares about his students. The lectures get really long and boring. Very uninteresting.. &we are only given 3 tests and 1 paper, so its hard to raise your grade if you aren't doing well. This class is better for the people who really love history.
Easy class as long as you attend
He is so inspirational. Take very good notes because the tests are based heavily on the notes. His lectures are interesting and colorful. He truly cares about his students and wants them to do well. Very knowledgable about history. Never be afraid to ask him questions, he is understanding and loves questions. Nicest old man.
3 exams, 1 page paper on whichever topic of choice he chooses. It sounds super easy until it comes down to it. I struggled through his class the whole semester and at last managed a C. I'm a good student but at times it does come to the point where no matter how much attention you pay, the tests are no where near what's studied.
Dr. Hardy was an excellent professor. He taught with passion. He knew the subject so well that he taught history through stories. Great great instructor.
This class turned out to be a lot harder than I had expected. You are pretty much tested on everything in notes and everything in the reading. He was very nice and passionate about his class but he expects a lot out of his students.
His lectures are amazing and full of knowledge. His test are really hard. i have a great time enjoying his lectures and took great notes, when test day came i always thought i was ready but never got anything higher than a C, we had one writing assignment that i aced. I past the class with a B.
Excellent professor he is very intelligent and lectures are interesting. His tests are not very difficult if you study. I highly recommend him he is very passionate about history and makes you feel the same way.
Must go to class, TAKE GOOD NOTES, his exams are VERY VERY HARD & 90% of the ?s are from his lectures, ppts have no writing on them, he just talks so pay attention, lectures can be boring most of the time, I did not do well in his class at all but he was very helpful, 3 exams 1 paper so no opportunity to raise your grade
Must go to class, TAKE GOOD NOTES, his exams are VERY VERY HARD, 90% of the ?s come from the lecture so you must pay attention, ppts do not have any writing on them so you have to listen carefully, 3 exams 1 paper so no opportunity to raise your grade, I am not doing well in the class at all and it is way too hard for a GE course
VERY VERY HARD, DO NOT TAKE IF YOU DONT HAVE TO, TAKE GOOD DETAILED NOTES OR YOU WILL FAIL, ONLY 3 EXAMS AND 1 PAPER
You must attend class to pass this class. The tests are 90% based on his lectures so pay attention and take good notes. He is a sweet old man that truly loves history. Boring subject, but I found the class interesting thanks to Hardy.
This class is VERY HARD! I never missed a class and I studied and took good notes and still managed a C. His grade is based on 3 tests and 1 paper which is only 10% so even if you do good on the paper, you will need to study for tests. I do not recommend this class.
Great professor over all! I loved his lectures because he's really passionate about the topic but be ready to take good notes because he will take up the entire class time lecturing.
Great teacher. I was really interested in this class so I took really well notes. Attendance is not mandatory but if you want to do well, you got to show up and take good notes. He wants all of is students to pass. He is always willing to help. Office hours are great. 2Midterms a Final and one very short paper. Thats it.
Your grade is based on based on 2 midterms, 1 Essay, and 1 Final. IT IS HARD TO PASS THE EXAMS. I regret taking this class with him. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. AVOID HIM. Take Hist 110A with a prof that gives more work, assigns EC, or makes easier exams.
I don't know why people think he lectures well. He is passionate but his lectures are all flash no content. Take if you want to here a good story. Don't take if you have little patience. And don't expect him to follow his outline. He skips all over the place.
His lectures are extremely unorganized. He doesn't cover everything in his outline. Prepare to be tested on things you never learned. Would not take if you have another choice. Lectures are all flash no content. Extremely frustrating.
He's a tough one. He's very passionate about his students. Be prepared to take hand written notes! You'll need to use your listening skills. He has an outline for the course. His lectures are very much like story-telling. But he does include content that will be on the exams. Don't miss class! There's only one paper, but make sure not to BS it.
Very good lectures but you have to show up for them. He covers a lot in one day so missing is not smart. He's very old fashion so he doesn't use any online stuff. He gives topic lists for tests and is always open to review.
He is a very nice man who has a lot of experience teaching history. Showing up to class is the only way to understand anything. The class requires a lot of memorization and you really have to sit down and go over your notes. He saved me from a spider right in the middle of class. Really nice guy who likes what he is doing. :)
Hardy is an awesome lecturer. But it you skip class and don't take notes you won't pass. He will answer any questions but his tests aren't exactly on your notes, you have to read the readings as well.
I love this professor!!! Listen carefully and take detailed notes because his tests are solely based on his lectures. His way of teaching is old fashioned so you basically have to take notes while he's just talking. This class can be challenging at time but Hardy will answer any questions you have. 2 exams, 1 paper, and cumulative final.
Dr. Hardy is a grey professor. He loves history and it shows in his lectures. He is basically telling a story, and in it you will learn about history.
This class requires a lot of work. I could have done better if I would have scored better on the first exam. There are only 3 exams including the final and 1 paper. He lectures every class. Test are based on lectures. Don't screw up on the first exam! PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS IF YOU WANT TO PASS. TAKE DETAILED NOTES! He is very helpful&passionate!
Dr. Hardy teaches his lectures as if it were a story. Take really good notes and record lectures if you can't write fast. There is 2 midterms, a paper, and final. I could have done better in the class if I did good on the first exam. Make sure to read his book (need) and the other textbook. Class is mandatory.
Very old school teaching. read both books he gives you you'll be fine. He loves his students, he will do anything to help you pass. I was failing his class, but he said if we did exceptional on the final he would pass us, hes not big on failing people unless you really dont try at all. He see's your dedication. Lectures are long tho. but interestin
Attendance is absolutely a must. He doesn't use Titanium so you have to take good notes because his test mostly consists of the things he talks about. Some questions on the tests are from the selections he puts in his lecture outline textbook. He lectures like he is telling a story so it keeps students interested, but STUDY HARD!
Pretty hard class but if you really like history and want to learn a lot you should take the class. Prepare to ACTUALLY study for tests although sometimes its hard to decide what is actually going to be on the test. He gives out a study guide and usually does review sessions which help a lot . Besides that, just One easy essay. Grades on curve.
