easy class, nice professor

Corrently takeng this teacheur, class is very aeasy if yuor 1st languaegea is English! (get the sarcasm?) Anyhow, if you do not write well, class will b tough with any taeacher. She's very nice, she even made a statement that some letters from students made her cry(an assignment) Nice lady but she will fail u if u miss lots grammar stuff on final

This professor is pretty easy for the most part... writing is not one of my great qualities but she really helped all her students VERY GOOD... and she is pretty sappy lol.. but RECOMMMEDDDD HERRRRR TO EVERYONE!!!

Not sure about her being hot! but class is easy. She tries to be tough on 1st day of class, but soon, the real "nice" lady comes out. I Recommend her!!!!!!!!!!

Very helpful lady, if you want help.She grades fair and answers all questions. she tells stories but they all relate to class. Highly recommend!

Hard class. lots of work. you really have to show up and give it your all. Dept. guidelines are strict!!! She will work with you. Very nice person and professor. P.S. The attendace thing is true- but it says the attendance policy in the syllabus. Obviously, someone didn't read it.

This is a good class to take. It is usefull and relevant to business. Professor Hedges makes the class interesting and is fair and carefull to make sure students get everything they need to suceed in her class. There are lots of assignments but if you do them with effort you will get a good grade.

She is unexperienced, but nice and very helpful. I enjoyed her class. I recommend to take her class.

i had a fridays-only class with her and i thought it was horrendous. every meeting, she'd go through a lecture and then we'd have to write, at 8am in the morning! her attendance thing is way too strict; it being once-a-week, if you missed 1 class, you lose 20 participation points and 20 attendance points, total of 40 points!

Attendence & Participation are a must! Major point deductions if you miss class (although she is rethinking this policy for next semester). She does grade hard but you always get a practice assignment first. If you show up, pay attention and write fairly well you will do just fine in her class. I found her to be very helpful during her office hours

She is a hard grader at first, but once you figure out her grading style then you will be fine. It is very difficult to pass the class if you don't show up. She takes points off for missing class or for being tardy. She is a good professor and I would recomend taking her if you are willing to do the work for your grade!

she does grade tough and admits that. but she is a fun professor. she has laxed her attendance policy. as long as you adjust to her grading, you will be fine. if you can write well, you wont have a problem.

This teacher is seriously one of the best teachers i've taken here at Cal state fullerton. Her personality, teaching skills and humor makes this class fun to take. Now i hate writing essays but this is business writing and she made me love it. The material is not crazy challenging, i took it in the summer of 06 and did all the work gotta B+

English is not my mother language, but I enjoy her class very much. She is helpful and friendly!!! Be sure to visit her in her office hours, and you will get lots of hints. If you are willing to improve your writing skill, she will be happy to answer all your questions. I love this professor, and I love this class. Work hard and good luck.

IGNORE the comments below, they're lazy students. Prof. Hedges is an EXCELLENT teacher who knows how to deliberate the material to her students. She has a great personality, gives out plenty of examples and tries to return the papers on time. IF YOU REALLY WANT TO LEARN TAKE HER, IF YOU DON'T THEN GO FOR AN EASY PROFESSOR. She's a fair grader!

Ms. Hedges is not the easiest teacher in the world. She is only tough because you have to pass a final written exam or you don't pass no matter the grade you have in her class. She is very helpful and nice and although I got a c- and did not pass, she's a very good teacher. Be sure to USE LOTS OF DETAIL in your writing and you'll do fine.

OMG, what's wrong with people!!! DON'T listen to any of the bad comments. Prof. Hedges is an OUTSTANDING PROFESSOR. Guys if you take her, you will learn, she is not the easiest, but she only wants the best for her students. She will DEFINATELY prepare you for the final. Fair grader, funny, sweet and CAN TEACH. People are LAZY!!

Know how to teach. Nice lecture. Prepare you for your in-class writings and exams.

The Business Writing classes are incredibly difficult. But if you pay attention and do your work, you can easily pass the classes. Prof. Hedges does the best she can to get you through all the memo's/letters/career projects to help you understand. YOU must put in the work to receive the grade you earn.

All complainers of Ms. Hedges are goofy. She is an excellent teacher and does her best to instruct a course in a department with very high standards. It is difficult but she prepares you for the stressful department final. She is willing to help and is very sweet and has a winsome personality. Take her if you like to learn.

Good instructor but tough grader. You will actually learn in her class but have to try very hard. She prepares you for every single assignment but her expectations are very high. Proofread as much as you can, she drops a lot of points for grammar.

Excellent professor. Very clear on what she wants. Truly cares about students. ESL students may have a harder time in this class though. Follow directions and you will do well. She doesn't try to trick you. Makes class interesting.

Excellent professor! Be prepared to work though. Not for lazy students. Not an easy class to say the least. However, Prof. Hedges is always willing to help and is VERY approachable, not to mention she has a sense of humor! If you do the work and you prepare, you'll pass. My advice, pick good groups for group projects or your grade will suffer!!

She is an amazing professor!! She makes this course exciting and fun. She is an intelligent and witty teacher, and will definitely help you with your future goals. I have taken her for both BUAD 201 and BUAD 301, AND I landed a sweet job because of her informative teaching! Highly Recommended =)

Need to go to class because gets off schedule, but class is prety interesting, if you go or read the powerpoints online you should be fine. Review for quizes with text book end of chapter quizes. Assignments are graded pretty hard but a B is possible in class. Teachers really nice but grades hard

Good teacher. Tries her best to entertain the class. Easy grader than the rest of the BUAD teachers. But the best thing about the class is that the material is essential for the business world! I learned more in this class than any other GE course. I recommend her.

SHE IS A GREAT PROFESSOR. I REALLY ENJOYED HER CLASS. THE CLASS IS REALLY HARD, BUT DOES HER BEST TO TEACH THE MATERIAL THAT IS REQUIRED. TAKE HER CLASS.

Prof was very nice and helped if you asked questions. 2 oral group projects but grades generously on them. She grades cases in class pretty tough but its a learning experience. Definitely recommend, passed w/a C. Explains work thoroughly

She is indeed a hard grader, but if anything, it guided me to do better in her class. She doesn't expect great writing, just mediocre. But what's important is your ability to analyze & come up with the right strategy for the situation. My tip: open your mind and get logically creative (she loves little details). She is also very nice and sweet. :]

i highly recommend.She is a tough grader, but she PREPARES you for the final. The first paper may seem difficult because its different than buad201..but with her teaching you'll GET BETTER! There is a group project, so make sure you pick a good group.Attendance is mandatory....she wants to help the student pass the class...just show some effort

She is a TUFF grader!! compared my paper with other students who were taking the same class with someone else, my paper would earn at least a B. She pushed me, and I am a better writer for it. Don't take her if r'e looking for an easy pasage.

ANYONE complaining about her is just dumb. She is very nice and willing to help if u ask. Her class is fair and she grades tough bc the school requires updiv.writing classes to be tough. If u can't pass this class then u obviously can't write and should go find another major. This is Business not Child Development, it is suppose to be challenging!

these people are right, she helps but she aslo nails you down very hard. if your words does not make sense or does not make sense to her then u r screwed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLASS FOR ESL STUDENTS..she is soo fast... In conclusion all the instructors are HORRIBLE EXCEPT INNESS

Great teacher, but she grades really hard. She'll take points off for ANY grammatical errors. She gives extra credit. Group project at the end is a pain, but its not too hard. The final is just a one page strategic memo. Not too bad. I suggest you take her. You'll learn A LOT. The book is a must -- rentals are available in the bookstore

She is one of the best teachers I have had. Explains everything very clear and what she expects. It is however difficult to earn an A in this class. Attendance is required, allowed one free absence. Grades are based mainly on four strategic memos and a group project which takes a lot of time.

The workload for the class was pretty easy. The class work consisted 5 memos, 2 little writing assignments, a group presentation, and a group research paper. Come to class, get extra help, do the extra credit, and you should be fine. She does expect advance business writing out of her students though.

What a great teacher. There were a few memos, a few quizzes, a group paper & presentaion. She is EXTREMELY clear on her expectations and will help you IF you go to her office hours. The textbook is very helpful and if you put at least a little effort into the class, you should pass. Don't expect her to baby you, put in some effort. Easy B!

Great Teacher! BUAD 301 is not an easy A unless you are strong writer and make few grammatical errors but this professor is very straightforward and you know what to expect for the exams. Gives some opportunities for extra credit which is nice. 1 group project for the semester as well.

Professor Hedges is a great teacher! You will learn a lot from her. Go to her office hours and do the Extra Credit and you will do great! She does mark down for spelling and grammar but she will also teach you how to become a better writer. I highly recommend taking her!

If you just show up to class you will do well. Not a whole ton of reading involved. Attendance is mandatory but overall a pretty good teacher. Very nice and available to talk often. Posts all her power points up online.

she is a hard grader! although she is extreamly helpful during her office hrs. you need to be a great writer to pass her class, bcuz she marks down every single small mistakes. 3 exams, 1 final and 1 project. one thing i dont like its u'll get group grades for the project, if your partners are lazy, you're screwed. DONT buy the book! u dont need it

I agree with the other's comments. Do not take her class because she is a horrible teacher. You will receive a bad great if you do not have a BA in English.

This class is easy, but you have to pay attention to what you are doing. Yes, she will mark down any mistake you make but she lets you know that before hand; so pay attention and be careful. She is nice, helpful, interesting and gave people tons of extra credit oppurtunities to boost their grade.

BUAD 301 requires you actually were challenged in previous writing classes. Grammar, Literacy & Punctuation. Pay attention, type notes, interact with her. It shouldn't be hard to get a B. She will tell you what an A paper requires. I've only gotten A's. Group Project - ONLY TAKE NON-LAZY, classmates. Proofread it! Interview them! Don't suffer!

Word of warning, if you are not proficient in the english language, or spend time reading english literature (newspaper, magazines, weblogs, books) - You may find it difficult to speak in proper english outside of yoyo,wsup,mtv,nikka. ALSO : Class will be hard for foreign students that don't know a lot of english, extra study required.

Excellent teacher, she's really nice and helpful. If you go into office hours she'll read over the final paper and help you get a good grade.

Amazing! Shes makes the class fun and easy! She is always in a great mood and always willing to help! Class consists of a few quizzes, four tests (including final) and a group presentation. It isn't that difficult if you come to class! You'll love her!

She's really nice and her exams are fairly easy, but she doesn't teach well. We also aren't using a single textbook which irritates me. I like to have something to reference besides my past exams. I'm in the service learning class, which helps with the group project but takes 20 hours of volunteer work. 4 exams 1 group project extra credit papers.

Fairly easy if you read the book and pay attention. I could've easily gotten an A but the group project dropped me down to a B+ because my group got a C. CHOOSE MEMBERS WISELY! Always happy about teaching so it makes the class more enjoyable. If English is not your first language, it might be a little difficult. Generous w/ extra credit! :D

Great teacher for this business writing course! I found her extra credit/office hours support to be a huge difference in success. The curriculum and syllabus schedule is definitely at a quick pace, so do not miss class and take advantage of her extra credit. She has great teaching skills and attitude, I would highly recommend her!

She is amazing !! She is always willing to help and very energetic in class. She gives examples of what will be on the writing exams and also gives you practice prompts. These are super helpful and she will gladly go over them to help you out on the tests !

She is very nice and helpful! Her class was still enjoyable even though it was 3 hours. You will see a HUGE difference in your grade when you do the practice cases and go to her office hours. To get a good grade in this class you HAVE to be competent in literacy!! If you're not good with literacy you will have a hard time in this class.

She is a really nice teacher and really tries to help every student do good. The practice tests will really help you to do good in the class. She grades very hard and assigns a lot of busy work.

Always willing to help you with stuff like practice exams. 4 exams, some HW on APLIA(costly program) that is worth only 5% of grade, 1 group project with presentation, about 3 small assignments. Grades a little tough, but its fair if you know what you're doing. Pass fail final. +/- system. Dont realy do much everyday. Attendance required

Very hard grader. If you have a hard time writing then I suggest do not take her. She teaches straight from PowerPoint. Does not really give much practice besides some homework online. There are 3 exams and 1 final. One group project.

Here is what I wished someone would have told me before taking Hedges: be CRYSTAL CLEAR and VERY specific on exams and only write what's necessary. Keep it short, simple and clear as possible and you'll get at least a B. If I knew this I would've gotten an A. You're welcome ;)! Group project is pretty important, pay EXTRA attention to citations.

This course is tough, but she is more than willing to help if you ask for it. Do the practice exams and you'll do fine. She explains step by step how to write a professional business memo/letter and what things to avoid. For the group project, make sure you use proper APA format and follow the rubric closely for the oral presentation.

Great teacher that is always willing to help her students. Overall one of the best professors I have had.

Great teacher as well as an interesting topic. She is very clear on exactly how your exams should look. There are 3 written exams, one group project on a company, online homework and a final exam that needs to be passed with a C to pass the class. Highly recommend Breta!f

Somewhat of an easy class, just make sure to pick your group wisely. Other than that, practice makes perfect when it comes to writing I suppose. I was going to take her for BUAD301.

She was very helpful when someone had a question, and was very welcoming during office hours. She talks fast, but she gives the slides from which she lectures, so it's easy to go back if you missed something.

She is such a sweetheart!! She is extremely nice and helpful! Always positive. Go to her office hours if you don't understand a topic. Group project which isn't too bad. I recommend her.
