Dr. Vaziri is a great guy! He helps his students as much as he can outside of class. His lectures are pretty simple, but attendance isn't required unless it's studio days (when you work on in-class problems). Other than that grades are based off of 3 tests, a final, 8 homework assignments, the studios and an excel project (SUPER easy) TAKE HIM!!

Dr. Vaziri is hands down the best COB 191 teacher. His lectures are easy to follow, provides great notes, and always has examples. He answers any and all questions with a clear answer. You do have homework and a participation grade, but they are both easy 100s. You get a full sheet to use on every exam. He is so nice and a great prof, TAKE HIM!

Prof. Vaziri is awesome. 3 Tests, 1 final (final replaces lowest test score), and 9 easy hw assignments. Material isn't too hard but you have to put work in to pass. Viziri really cares about his students and explains things very well. Definitely take him!

Easily one of the best professors I've ever had. I would highly recommend him to anyone. The only bad part of his class is that the test are a lot harder than the material he gives out. Other than that, his homework is easy and class is only mandatory for "studios."

Honestly one of the best professors I've ever had. He is willing to go the mile to help you understand the material and wants you to do well. Not an easy A and you have to work to do really well but he has an open door policy and obviously enjoys the subject material. Take him!

He's the best teacher I've had at JMU. He is very clear about what he wants you to know, and all the information on his tests is in his powerpoints that he posts online. He lets you use 'cheat sheets' on exams, and even if you bomb a test he'll drop the grade if you do better on the final exam. I would take him again in a heartbeat if I could.

The man!!!! Grades hw for completion. Do examples in class and just by being there you get points. Funny guy and likes to crack jokes. Gives practice exams that prepare you for tests. You get a crib sheet each test. Very straightforward class. I don't think I've ever seen him without a smile on his face.

Great Professor, the hw is graded for completion. Loves to crack jokes and get the class involved. You get a full page cheat sheet for every test. Really wants his students to succeed and will offer to help. COB 191 is hard regardless, but he makes it a lot easier to understand, plus all of his presentations are on canvas.

Vaziri is a good choice if you've never taken statistics before. He really goes into detail and warns you when the material is starting to get more challenging. He really loves teaching and wants everyone to do well. The tests are hard and worded super confusing, but the class in general is hard if you've never taken stats.

Best teacher, loves what he does. He teaches the material the best he can but it can still be difficult to understand if you don't pay attention or don't do the homework. Do the excel inputs to stay up to date.

Bobby is AMAZING because he's young and knows how tough this class can be. He constantly smiled and always encouraged questions. Gives "studios", which count as quizzes, and as long as you go to class, you'll be fine. If I hadn't been consumed with other hard classes, this would've been an easy B. Tests are extremely difficult, however.

Vaziri is probably the best choice for 191. He acknowledges that the material is challenging and conceptual but he's an amazing guy and is very accessible outside of class. If I didn't go to office hours I wouldn't have passed. Take advantage of office hours!!

The best professor I could've asked for. I wish more of my professors taught like him, he genuinely wants his students to succeed and has such a kind heart. He teaches material via lectures and has "studios" where you do practice problems in class. He is always very helpful during office hours and obviously knows his material. Take him if you can!

Vaziri is one of the best professors I have had at JMU. He explains concepts clearly and concisely, and the studios and homework clearly back up what he covers in class. It is a pretty difficult class for the business school, but Vaziri does a great job teaching it!

PROF VAZIRI IS THE BESTTTTTT! He's young, fair, helpful, and so nice. Not to mention hes a GREAT professor and makes stats interesting and easy to learn IF you go to class and visit his office hours once in awhile. Studios are very helpful before exams and lets you work with classmates. His exams aren't easy, but ask for help. YOU BETTER TAKE HIM!

I took Vaziri for is first time teaching COB 291. He's a great professor and is willing to help you out as long as you have tried solving the problem first.

The class is hard if you don't study. If you are still having trouble, go to office hours because he is very helpful and tries to make you do better. The grade consists of 10 studios (essentially worksheets), but they aren't worth much and the final grade is mainly exams.

This is a hard class regardless of who you take. I think Vaziri is the best choice based off of some of the things I've heard about other 291 profs. 4 exams total 3 excel hw's and 5ish quizzes. I got a C even though I failed 3/4 exams. exams were nothing like the lecture problems. but do good on hw's and you can get by. Vaziri is a really nice guy.

COB 291 is hard, but Vaziri is the best for it. He can be a tough grader on tests, but he prepares you well for them as long as you work. His class requires work. Not TONS of homework, but optional practice problems you should do. He is probably the smartest Professor I've had at JMU and definitely the nicest.

COB 291 is hard but Vaziri is the best teacher. The homework is optional and your grade is from 3 exams, 1 final, and 3 Excel assignments. Excel assignments are very doable but start them early. Tests are challenging but that's just 291. The class is very manageable and if you take notes, do practice, and go to office hours, you can do well.

Vaziri is a sweet prof that cares about his students, unfortunately this class is just very tough. 3 tests worth 20% each, final is 25%. The tests are difficult even with studying, but he makes himself available and posts lots of practice and the slides. He uses lots of examples and tries to make the info understandable which is helpful.

Hard class, but I guess he's not a bad option. Tests make up majority of grade, and they're hard (most people get -C - F.) The tests are also easy to screw up on as there are only 20-25 questions per test and each question has 5 answer choices as opposed to 4. That said this class is manageable as long as you put the work in and focus every class.

This class is HARD but so is 191 in general. Prof Vaziri makes a difficult class somewhat manageable and I really think he is the best option. The class seems pretty easy but the tests are extremely difficult. He gives extra credit and goes over the questions on exams and lets you have a sheet of notebook paper for the exam. If you can, take him!

Probably the best professor you could get for 191, the class is extremely difficult but Vaziri is a great teacher. Do not skip class and pay attention in every class and you will end up with a good grade. This class will take a lot of effort and time out of your semester but it is very important for your COB GPA.

Vaziri is probably the best professor I've ever had, and he made 191 manageable, and an understandable experience as long as you put the time and effort into learning it, the tests themselves are very tough, but that's just 191. COB 191 is a pretty difficult course, but Professor Vaziri gives you plenty of chances to do well in the course. Exams are tough and there are all 20-25 questions so there is not a lot of room to mess up. Studios and an easy project give you 75 free points. Also offers extra credit. Take Professor Vaziri for 191 if you get the chance to.

Good guy with interesting lectures & very engaging etc.etc. However, you could know the material and still end up with a horrible exam score. Do not rely on a "Curve" either, didn't get one here. Final exam is literally impossible, each question about a paragraph long. Probably the best professor though....

Vaziri is by far the best option for 191, truly cares about his students actually learning. Tests are basically the only things for grades, other than small "studios" that you get points for being there. He allows a full page for a cheat sheet for tests, and notes are often unrelated to tests. i wish i had stevens, bc he writes the final for all 191 tests. hes a "conceptual teacher" in a class that needs an analytical style. Professor Vaziri is literally amazing, I was worried initially coming in as his reviews were all over the place. However, he really wants you to succeed. I get 100s on basically all of the studios (which we do in class and I never have homework). His tests are fairly hard however, reasonable considering the subject. 10/10 best professor for 191.

This class was hard af and his tests were stupid hard. HW and Extra credit saved my life. He does prepare you well for the final. Honestly the best professor for 191 cuz if i had a different professor i probably would've failed and dropped out of college.

One of the best professors I've had in a while. He made statistics interesting to learn about. He is engaging, relaxed, and open to all questions. Super helpful in explaining all the concepts in depth and he can tell when people aren't getting it and will keep teaching. Really chill guy too and cracks jokes. But he did a great job of hosting office hours. And he even takes the time to get to know you as a person and remembers the information, he's just a nice guy. W professor.

LOVE HIM! This overall is such a hard class, but he makes it easy to understand. 3 multiple choice test and then the final, 3 excel projects, and 6 take home quizzes with 3 attempts on each. take him if you can!!

HE'S THE BEST!!! Exams are EXACTLY LIKE THE NOTES, SO GO TO CLASS! Studios (hw) are done in class and answers are given (easy grades), gives extra credit assignments, he explains the material SO well and made it so easy to understand, and he's very accessible outside of class for help. it's like impossible not to end this class with an A.

Really great professor, 191 is a hard class but he makes it manageable. Test heavy class but thats the same with all 191 pretty much. He is super responsive and really tries to help and get you to understand the material. A great choice for 191.

Dr. Vaziri is phenomenal. I took his 4 week summer session with him. There was 3 exams, 1 project, and 10 assignments. I ended with an 85 and he curved me all the way to an A. He was also funny and laid back while still effectively teaching the material in a way that is easy to understand.

He's the goat, simply put. If you have the opportunity to take him do so, he's by far the best 191 professor. I took his summer session. We had 3 exams, 10 HW assignments, and 1 Excel project. He will curve your final grade. 191 is generally a hard class but he makes it much easier to understand with his lectures.

He is really nice and funny and makes sure to remember everyone's names, so you feel comfortable asking questions. Homework is gone over in class before submission so go to class! Also, you get a reference sheet for every test. Content is hard but he makes lectures entertaining with humor.

Take Professor Vaziri for COB 191!!! He is super funny and explains the material well. There are 3 tests and 1 final, and you can use an 8x11 reference sheet. Tests are 25 questions (multiple choice) and not hard if you have studied before. There are 9 studios, which are done in class and he goes over the answers with you. Also has 1 easy project.

Vaziri is the GOAT. All of his classes were interesting and made you want to go to class. His was very clear on what to expect for tests, providing both practice problems and a mock test. As well as allowing a cheat sheet on each test. Take him if you want to do well in 191

Guy makes COB191 about as easy as one could make it. Lectures are very good and helpful come exam time. Posts mock tests well before exams and is eager to help you out if you're struggling with the material. Would recommend for COB191.

Best business professor! He knows exactly how to explain topics in an easy and relatable way, making it simple to understand. He knows us by name and always knows how to make us laugh. I actually look forward to my 8am bc of his teaching. Assignments are easy and he will help you through the whole thing himself

Vaziri is the perfect professor. He is very caring towards his students & is amazing at explaining complex topics. The class is test heavy, though some other projects can boost your grade if needed. He doesn't use a textbook, so going to lecture to get information is important.

Prof Vaziri is the best option for 191, great guy that takes the time to get to know each student by name. Class is just extremely difficult which isn't his fault, he explains everything really well and gives easy weekly assignments to be able to apply your learning. He goes over the answers before you submit. 3 unit exams and cumulative final.

Baback is the goat, if you have the opportunity to take 191 TAKE HIM. it is easy to do the class without paying attention but if you do then you genuinely are able to learn so much about excel and you will be a lot better prepared for 291(arguably the hardest cob prereq)

Professor Vaziri was probably my favorite professor at JMU so far. He is super helpful with assignments and helps tremendously with studying for his exams (3 + final). I had a lot of fun in this class and I would 100% recommend him. The course itself is already inherently difficult, and he helps you understand the real world applications of it.

Professor Vaziri is the best professor at JMU, or at least in COB. This class material is inherently difficult, but Professor Vaziri teaches this class the best anyone possibly could. 4 tests, study hard for each one. If you come to him for help he is so kind and helpful. I cannot recommend him enough, he also offers extra credit too!!
